Great new National Monument. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Although we had a short covid wait to get in, the place is nice. Hopefully someday someone will donate a Pullman car to the park. I see a lot of potential with this park. It is good to walk around and get a good understanding of the efficient manufacturing and how some employees lived in the company houses.

WoW what a difference a year makes The new/restored visitor center is very nice You can also do a self-guided or ranger tour of the property. It also does an exemplary job of representing the true Pullman. Definitely worth a stop.

Established as a National Monument in 2015, Pullman is an important addition to the National Park service as one of the few sites in the system commemorating the nation's labor history. Few sites of any kind in the U.S. are as important to the history of working people. The struggles that workers and their unions engaged in at Pullman, especially the 1893 strike, shaped the U.S. labor movement. What makes Pullman especially unique is that so much of the original architecture of the community has been preserved. Walking into Pullman is like walking back into the late 19th century, but not in the faux, kitschy way of many "living history" sites, but instead into a real, living community and one in which many residents continue to embrace the communities historic significance and continue the struggles started by their predecessors over 100 years ago. Best time to visit Pullman is during their annual Labor Day celebration. Make sure to stop at the visitor's center and take a walking tour of the community.

10/10 would recommend taking one of Ranger-led tours, really gives some great texture to all that you will see and learn at the space. Just make sure to check the website ahead as some schedules change with seasons.

Terrific day trip for history or architecture lovers. Be sure to call ahead for a guided tour of both the Florence Hotel and the Pullman Factory. Neighborhood walking tours are self guided.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Ranger Linda was an immense help and extremely kind. She gave us a good introduction to the site and helped us understand the additional buildings in the surrounding area. She also helped with a local ice cream recommendation. Thanks!

We did the annual house walk. The homes were beautiful and all unique from each other. We had some tasty grilled food outside of the visitors center while listening to a local band. I would definitely do it again.

The history of the area is very interesting. It will be do much nicer when the finish the renovations of the factory and the Florence Hotel. The man that greeted us at the visitors center was knowledgeable and really personable. He made us feel right at home and welcome.

The District is truly beautiful and so photogenic. The museum though, while in the huge building with the clock is only a tiny space with no other areas accessible which was disappointing. No Pullman car which I would have hoped for. The displays btw have some nice educational points about discrimination as well as union and worker rights. The real beauty is the surrounding areas directly north and south of the museum. Free with plenty of free parking.

(Translated by Google) how to say. It seems that the photos seen by Google Map are not actually seen. It is necessary to book a tour in advance. This point is blocked by iron locks and fences. It is a pity that nothing can be seen. (Original) 怎麼說呢。Google Map看到的照片好像都不是實際看到的,要事先預約Tour的樣子,這個點是鐵鎖和圍籬擋住,看不到甚麼東西,有點可惜。

This address may have been a museum, but it was originally the Hotel Florence and is now being restored as such. Not much sightseeing other than to walk around it and read the signs. Do not start here. Start at the visitors center.

Very nice quiet neighborhood. Lots of historical background. I grew up in Pullman. They have tours so you can really get the feel of the homes that were built in the 1800s. Also garden tours. Pullman is being revamped. Lots of new businesses in the neighborhood. Take a tour. I'm sure you'll enjoy it!

Modern exhibits give a thorough but digestible experience as to why the site is so important to US history, especially labor. Well preserved neighborhood to walk around too.

I went to the museum yesterday with my grandson, and I was very disappointed. They had a lot of stuff to read but I thought it would be more visual. An exhibit says a thousand words. The whole experience took all of 10 minutes. I, wanted to see more about the Black Porters, and the injustices they endured. A special section should’ve been reserved just for them. And they could’ve made a least one train car like it was in the past. After we left, I look at the whole building, and it is about a block long, so they do have room to grow. I can’t see anyone traveling from New York or California or any other state coming here to see this Exhibit, it’s really not worth it. But I know it can be much, much better. Thank you everyone for your efforts. But I know it can be better. This can be the jewel of Chicago. But, if this is all that the budget allows. Then that’s that….and never mind.

This is a gem of a place and neighborhood in the city. If you have not been here, you are missing a pivotal part of history. Take a nice day and explore by walking the blocks of row houses and the visitors center. Well worth it.

Great place to visit. Very knowledgeable staff and volunteers. A wealth of information with wonderful context. Access to the community is right across the street where you can get a walking tour to see houses on the interior and also you get to see the large Hotel Florence. Hopefully the hotel finds additional funding to be restored.

I last saw Pullman in 1986, when it first opened as a park. It has improved a lot since then. It's an important place in American labor, railroad, and architectural history - and it's beautiful.

It was interesting. Alot of reading . Which for me not great. really wanted to see more train cars and how maybe they put them together . Along with how it was back then. My son enjoyed it as a train enthusiasts so can't complain too much.

Very informative. It’s a great history lesson for the creation of Unions. I would of like more displays honoring the Pullman Porters because without them, Pullman would not have been a staple in luxurious travel accommodations.

Fascinating historic place.... currently the visitors center is housed in a non-profit's building, so we have a non-profit organization subsidizing what the current federal administration refuses to fund...... so it goes.

The Pullman State Historic Site is has been designated Pullman National Monument by President Barack Obama. I have passed by the historical former train car factory since childhood. It gives me a sense of pride to see the Southside of Chicago have this honor. I also stopped by the Pullman Visitor's Center.

I picked out my most favorite pictures I took in chicago and half of them was at the The Pullman Park National Monument. Superficialness aside, this is definitely a must see for tourists and/or people who love photo opportunities! I'm surprised that something so simple as putting a bunch of light posts together can be so pretty, romantic, beautiful, etc.
