Wow! This place is stunning! Had the opportunity to shoot a wedding here in 2021 and was amazed by the venue. The landscaping was immaculate with luscious gardens, abundant ivy archways, and large trees. There were nice paths throughout so the bride did not have to worry about getting her dress muddy. I also loved the wide concrete stairways out by the gardens. The couple had their ceremony at a church nearby and then party-bused it over for bridal party shots and couple portraits. The couple was all smiles all day even though it was a classic Indiana summer day - 100 degrees and not a cloud in the sky. The pushed through the heat for their portraits and I am so glad they did! On days like this, it is nice to have lots of shaded areas around the venue to take little breaks. 5/5 for landscaping 5/5 for venue being accommodating to any request that I had 5/5 for uniqueness as a wedding venue Cannot rave enough! If you are thinking about booking your wedding here - do it!

This is the first time I visit this park and I really like how it is designed and how clean it is. At the entrance there is a parking fee but if you are walking in there is no fee. They do have plenty of parking and on this visit I got to see the Alembrijes that were completed by Mexican Artists who brought their art from Mexico City to be displayed here. They also have a playground in the front of the park, they also have a restaurant and also there is an area where kids can play or do activities inside. There is plenty of space to seat and enjoy the park. The trails are very clean and overall I liked the park so I'll come back to this exhibition again.

I have been here a few times and the grounds are amazing. All the tanks, the home that you can tour, where celebrities like John Wayne visited, and the gardens are amazing. However this time I came to see a orchestra perform a concert on the grounds in the bandshell. What a great experience! If you haven't been here check it out and stay for the Saturday night musical entertainment.

An absolutely amazing place to relax and recharge new energy. A huge park with a touch of a great past.If you have a dog only Monday is good day. The museum is free, and that’s rare in the world. Moreover beautiful and will teach you a lot. I’m in of the person who invented, founded and realized this place. I was more fortunate, that I was occompanied by four women. Thank you and good luck...

This is one of the best parks in the Chicago suburban area, in my opinion. It is truly stunning in the summer, with so many flowers blooming. Parking - Ample paid parking space is available. $5 on weekdays. $10 on weekends. What to do - Walk around and take in the flowers and different varieties of plants. There’s a picnic area where you can bring food and have fun with family/friends. There are army tanks on display, starting from the tanks used during First World War to the ones more recently used. In the summer, I have seen concerts happening inside the park, which is super fun! They also have banquet halls and I’ve seen weddings, proms happen here. Do not miss seeing the memorial of Amy & Robert McCormick. Amenities - Drinking water stations are available. There’s a cafe inside the visitors centre. Restrooms are clean and nicely maintained. Overall, one could easily spend about 2 hours exploring this beautiful park. Highly recommend visiting between June - onset of Fall.

Absolutely beautiful gardens! The idea garden really caught our attention, but the grounds are full of curated horticultural masterpieces. We'll spend more time in, and get more photos of, the other areas on the next trip. Unfortunately, the mansion was still closed for construction on this trip, so we couldn't go inside. The area surrounding it is superbly peaceful, though, so still head over there and look around. The memorial site for Col. and Mrs. McCormick is an especially tranquil place for quiet reflection.

This is an amazing place to get out and enjoy nature and learn a lot. They have a military museum and tanks. Such beautiful grounds. Admission is paid by the car. During week is the best time to go its only 5.00 and a little more expensive on weekends. Definitely worth the visit, the cafe has amazing food as well. I really enjoyed the beautiful grounds and landscaping. Extremely peaceful.

Fantastic park. Only $5 per car load. Park, picnic tables, playground, garden, walking paths, war museum, real war tanks you can climb on, helicopter, gift shop, bathrooms, pavilion, and more. Fantastic way to spend an afternoon with the family. Museum included!

This estate is immaculately maintained and has dozens of beautifully groomed walking paths. There are things to do for all ages. The retired army tanks are definitely a popular part that are appreciated by children because they can climb on them. The flowers and plants are meticulously taken care of. The entire property is some jewel of Illinois. I would recommend Cantigny Park to family and friends of all ages!

Plenty of military history displays and of course the tanks in the park. The gardens and ponds are always well- maintained and a great place for photography or just a walk. There are exhibits and concerts so check out their calendar. Didn't get to see the mansion or grave due to wedding ceremonies and construction. (If you're visiting on a weekend be aware there may be areas blocked off for wedding ceremonies and/or occupied by wedding photography)

Cantigny Christmas lights were amazing! Was worth the price of $10 parking and $15 admission. It was such a delight to see all the indoor and outdoor festive decorations. Was able to grab a nice cup of hot chocolate and walk the path at my own pace for as long as I wanted. Absolutely adored the McCormick house with all its history and charm!

We live in AZ, but I grew up climbing on the tanks when I was a kid. I’ve been lucky to take my boy here 3 times. He loves military history and museum and the tanks are fabulous. The grounds are beautiful too!

Nicely done park surrounding the museum. The brick walkways were exceptionally done and very well kept. There are several flower gardens an be plenty of places to sit and enjoy the surroundings. There is plenty of parking and admission for us that day was $5 per car.

I decided to visit in hopes to see fall colors. The park did not disappoint in this aspect as the trees were in peak color form. The park also had fall decorations and colorful mums. The miles of trails take you across scenic landscape, gorgeous buildings, unique sculptures, and a plethora of plants. There is a rich history of the park and one can read about it throughout the park. The parking is $5. The only problem I had was that there were a ton of people taking photos and you may find yourself accidentally walking through one! I will be coming back here for more photo ops and to take in the beautiful scenery. Please visit in fall you won’t regret!

Wow, I was blown away with this place and we didn’t get to see it all. My husband is a veteran and it really brought back memories for him, especially seeing the same type of tank he used in Operation Desert Storm. The museum was really cool and we will be back to look at everything again. The grounds were immaculate and I can’t believe it was a free, with a small fee for parking, unless you are a veteran/in the military, then it’s free. Highly, highly recommend this for every age, if you’re thinking of going, just go, you won’t be disappointed.

Cantigny is such a great family friendly place to explore with your children. We brought the whole family and really enjoyed looking at the plants, walking the gardens, viewing the tanks and kids liked hanging out near the creek. We love the bright yellow chairs for photos placed in various spots of the park. This place is so amazing for just the cost of parking of $5. They also have a playground and museum which we didn't make it to this trip but have done in the past and definitely is a great overall experience for the whole family. Bring your lunch and enjoy a whole day out of it.

Cantigny Park Review Google Maps Very beautiful, clean, nicely arranged, well kept park for all ages. I can’t believe I haven’t heard of it before. I asked a bunch of people from FB neighborhood for good places to spend time with kids and this place was 1st on recommendation list. It is indeed a great park. It costs $ for entrance but so worth it. We went there on Wednesday 8/16/23 which is a weekday & paid $5/car at the entrance, but they have different fee for weekends and holidays. However, regardless the fee, I’d go there again and again. The park has nice playground structure for toddlers near a huge parking lot, also down the path there is a walk in bathroom with multiple stalls. Soda vending machine around the corner and a tank on the parking lot. The park itself has main entrance across from handy-kept parking area but you can also walk the side paths of each direction with a stroller or a wagon. (Left path) will take you around beautiful floral gardens, museum mansions and to the nice green meadow with a pond of water lilies & cute fish that swim close to the edge to look at you. It was fun to feed them bread. Further on, the park has numerous floral arrangement secluded corners with certain incline path for wheeled items like stroller or wheelchair. A great big field with inflated jump castles for kids, and other interactions at a certain AM hour of the day, because they remove them closer to 5pm. Further on there is a nice fountain, with benches to rest & take cool photos. Beautiful gardens and exquisite flowers with names. A little deeper towards the indoor museum of WWII military equipment and heavy weaponry there’s a big bunch of WWII tanks from several different countries. And by bunch I mean it allot, at least 10-15 of them stationed outside and kids can climb & touch them. Very cool. My 4 y/o toddler did not skip a single tank his dad placed him on. So he had a blast. Between the tanks and a pond… he wanted to feed the fish again before we left. On FB photos I saw different colorful structures for kids which I didn’t notice at the park, but I’m guessing they are installed seasonally. So it’s cool to come back in a while to catch something new. For this reason I highly recommend this place to anyone. Just use a sunscreen at AM visiting hours on a hot summer day.

Beautiful gardens and ever changing so it's a great place to visit frequently. Parking is 5 on weekdays and 10 on Weekends. The Alebrijes are beautiful and must see. There is always something to see and do!!! Restrooms through out the park are clean and well kept with water bottle filling stations at the visitor center. We did not visit the First Division Museum this time but it is excellent and a can't miss.

Made my first visit to this park and it was worth the money. We went to see the Alebrijes exhibition which was beautiful and quite engaging for the little ones. We also made a brief stop to the museum and we will definitely be back. There calendar is jam-packed with fun events for both kids and adults. Looking for forward to bringing other family and friends here.

This is a huge, well kept park with beautiful flower displays at any time of the year. Most of the paths are paved and easily accessible with a stroller. It has a large play area and numerous picnic benches with restrooms/ vending machine close by which is a big plus with little kids.

My first time at Cantigny Park and I really enjoyed myself at the France inspired day. The Muesuem was incredible. Love the interactive feel. Even was two motion rides to make you feel as if you are in a tank or the black hawk plane. The food was delicious that was inspired by France. Music, mime and the French Market was all great. Reminds me at a smaller version of Morton Arboretum. It was much more cleaner and plenty of picnic areas. Also a park area for kids.

Fun family time outside during every season. We like to bring picnic lunches and sit under a shaded tree in the summer while the kids climb on the tanks. In the winter, the inside market is nice to shop at.

The park was amazing and walking around the entire garden is a must. As you walk around the large botanical areas the variety of flower are incredible and have an amazing atmosphere. The house while unable to be entered is still a great sight to see and a great place ti take photos. The beautiful grave of General McCormick and his first wife lay next to the house and should be visited aswell.

Awesome park with a lot of big areas and some small nooks to hangout. There are nicely paved walkways to go around the park. Ample parking spots split into North and South lots. The North lot is closer to the visitor center. We did not try the restaurant but there is one in the visitor center. There is a designated picnic area with sheltered tables as well. There are about a dozen tanks from different time periods and models placed in the 'Tank park'. Kids of all ages were having a blast climbing on them. There are restrooms in the main visitor center and by the south parking lot. All in all, a great place to spend time outdoors and a beautiful place to enjoy fall colors.

We went in December 2023 for their first light show and opening of the ice rink. It was amazing. It took about 15 minutes to walk up to the house and 15 minutes to walk back. The walk through the lit up gardens was beautiful. They had fires and sitting areas throughout and a few different cocoa centers. The house took about 10 minutes to walk through. At the end was a little specialty gift shop and another, larger cocoa center. They probably should have had a bit of extra staff to help with in take at the skating rink, but other than that it was a smooth, just a bit slow process. For rink use and skates it was $10/person and for the light show it was $15/person. My family enjoyed our evening from 4:30pm to just shy of 8pm. Definitely would like to go again next year.

We wanted to do something different instead of going to a sit down restaurant like we do every holiday season. My wife said someone she knows had a great time so we booked a cabana. We had an amazing time! Food was good, hot cocoa was good and there's a bar if you're needing something warmer. They provide blankets but dress for the outdoors and bring thicker blankets if needed. Next time we'll bring a foldable table as table space is lacking. Overall, we had a wonderful family night.

Great place for a walk, you can visit some tanks that are displayed outside the 1st Division museum. The entrance is free in the museum. There is a picnic area and a playground for kids. Beautiful flower garden in spring and summer and a lot of events during the entire year. You are only paying for the parking fee, read is free to visit.

Fun day! Brought grandsons for the history, fresh air, museum. We all had loads of fun at the park, really liked the history inside museum, and loved the walk to see all the tanks. Will definitely do it again!

What a stunning place. Filled with easy walking trails across the grounds through meticulously landscaped gardens. There’s a park filled with retired tanks from World War 1 to present. The museum covers the same timeline with diverse and engaging exhibits. Great for a few hours of walking and learning.

Average park based on my expectations. Mainly for marriage and other events. Okay for Photoshoot . I came with library pass. Only parking fee. No charges other than parking. The cafe was closed(or reserved for marriage event) on the day We went. The museum closes by 5pm . So we couldn’t go.

Cantina is a must stop whether you are passing through or live nearby. Beautiful gardens and an amazing interactive military museum for the first division. Tanks of all types. Cafe and children's imagination garden. You won't be disappointed! Take a trip in a helicopter, storm Omaha Beach, walk through Vietnam and so much more! They are always expanding, music and movie nights come give Cantigny a try.

A great place for the kids or a date night. The Alebrijes exhibit was a beautiful glimpse into Mexican culture. You'll enjoy an exciting floral covered walk through winding trails. The elaborate sculptures were so fun to see. My only suggestions are to add a few more maps throughout the park so patrons walks aren't longer than intended if they should get turned around (only one at entrance). Additionally, for the disabled, nursing moms or for those who get winded easily, adding a few more benches would be helpful (especially near or in family restrooms).

What an amazing beautiful place. Such a wonderful place to spend the day. So many cozy places to sit and explore. Absolutely loved our trip and so much to learn about. Playground and food available for kids and adults.

A spectacular place to spend the day. Only $5 per car to enter and then the place is yours to explore. There are gardens, paths, and park/tanks for kids to play at. They have picnic tables and a patio to dine at. There is a little food serving place in the visitor's center. The paths are wide and easy to navigate. We had a wheelchair with us, and we were able to see everything and go everywhere. I highly recommend this place for an enjoyable day.

Beautiful place to take the family for fall pictures, just a stroll, or take advantage of the free museum. Family and I enjoyed a Sunday afternoon here. Surprisingly the place was not crowded. Admission during our visit was $15, per vehicle. Prices vary depending on the season and are available online. Inexpensive considering it also included access to the museum, which is a must if you visit.

  • 5/5 Rachael S. 1 year ago on Google
So much fun! There is a great sculpture walk right now in partnership with about 8 (I think 8) Mexican artistas. Check it out while you can! On Wednesdays there are fun activities for the kids and the people who with the stations are so kind and great with kids. Really lovely day. There is a park and picnic benches if you don't want to go to the café. Peaceful place and their Rose Garden rivals that if The Chicago Botanical Gardens. Take some time and summertime you love for a walk.

Went here with a Cub Scout pack to camp (cannot camp here unless with an approved organization). The grounds were extremely well maintained and has so much to offer. There is a tank park where the kids can climb on, the Army's 1st Division museum, a very colorful flower garden, kids playground, hiking paths, and lots of options for picnicking. The staff here is very helpful at all the venues. A great time was had by all Scouts and families.

Cantigny opened one of their parking lots to a car show this Sunday. Gorgeous day to wander. There was a band from 1-3 near the visitors center. We wandered the gardens behind visitors center up to McCormick mansion. Mansion area is being renovated so no tours this season. Garden arbors are beautiful every season. This would be a great place for family photos, prom pics, a wedding. We are so fortunate to have the museum, mansion, tanks, library and grounds in our area. Parking fee is usually $10 per car.
