Amazing!! It was a great experience. We visited on a Monday afternoon so the wait wasn't long but they make the line interesting with photo opportunities and interesting local facts. We bought the tickets and within an hour we were finished and walking out the lobby doors with an incredible experience and photos. I highly recommend this experience if you have the time. We may have to come back to get the night time experience. Simply amazing!

It was my first time here. I'm glad I came to visit the & see the view. It's amazing day or night. I didn't like that they rushed us out of the deck for pictures, but it was nice. Apparently, they only give you 2 min to take pics, which is crazy for the price you pay, but either way, it was a great experience. 👌💯

A must-see while in Chicago! This is a very unique experience that offers city views from the tallest building in Chicago. I made reservations ahead of time and thought the process was very well organized since its timed entry. As you make your way to the Sky Deck elevator, there is trivia, photo opportunities and more of Chicago related information. When you get to the Sky Deck, you start off by looking at different sides of the city, which offers unique photo opportunities. The last turn you come to is The Ledge. The employees will guide you to one of 4 ledges, which you will have a limited amount of time to take pictures (they set timers). They also take your picture with their camera in case you want to buy a photo at the end. When the timer goes off, you’ll exit The Ledge and take the elevator back down to the entrance.

Awesome place!! I visited this place after three years, and a lot has changed. The new editions are pretty awesome. Try to get as many pics as you can with the latest additions. Make sure you have your pose in mind before going to the ledge. Team members are well organized and respectful.

Skydeck Chicago is an absolute highlight of any visit to the Windy City! This iconic attraction, located atop the Willis Tower, offers an unparalleled experience that combines breathtaking views, thrilling heights, and a dash of history. The highlight is undoubtedly The Ledge—a series of glass boxes extending from the skyscraper, allowing visitors to stand suspended 1,353 feet above ground level. The adrenaline rush and panoramic views of the city are truly unforgettable. The knowledgeable staff adds to the experience, providing insights into Chicago's rich architectural history and pointing out notable landmarks. The journey to the Skydeck is an adventure in itself, with a high-speed elevator whisking you to the top in a matter of seconds. Once there, the 360-degree views of the city skyline and Lake Michigan are simply awe-inspiring. The interactive exhibits on the history and construction of the Willis Tower engage visitors of all ages. Timing your visit during sunset is highly recommended, as the city transitions from day to night, casting a warm glow over the skyline. The facility is well-maintained, and the crowd management ensures a comfortable experience. Skydeck Chicago is a must-visit for tourists seeking an exhilarating and panoramic introduction to the city. From the moment you step onto the glass floor, you'll understand why this attraction deserves its five-star rating. An absolute Chicago gem!

Such a stunning experience. Although for standing in a deck and clicking some stunning photos is a task as they gave a short time so it’s recommended to go with just 2 people at a time so that you can get a decent picture in a short time. Although there are places where you can get a great view to capture yourself. Also sunset is perfect time as you can see both day and night views.

Had a blast and if you take your time in the history/ picture taking part you can easily spend an hour inside making it worth the price. The view is also beautiful allowing for views one every side of the building and making the price of $39 worth it. Definitely a fun experience to do while in Chicago!

We really enjoyed our time at Skydeck! It does seem a little pricey, but it's worth the experience. Upon entering after your start time, you will walk through a museum of history and fun interactive Chicago locations that you can take pictures with before you get in line to ride the elevator. Kinda cool to read about the building in addition to other popular places in the Chicago downtown area. We went on a Thursday at 1pm and it did not seem very busy. Riding the elevator up to the 103rd floor only takes a couple minutes. They will pack as many people as possible inside... When you reach the top they have snacks and other items for sale. You can walk around as long as you want and view out any of the windows besides the ledge. When you get to the ledge, there will be a total of 5 ledges you can walk out on. Don't worry about the 60-90 seconds on the ledge. When we were there, they gave every group 2 minutes on the ledge and you can go as many times as you want! They form two lines. I would recommend to go to the farthest line as it is a line for 2 ledges, as the other line is for 3 ledges, so it takes longer. We were easily able to go 3-4 times and we only waiting maybe 15 minutes or so. When you start at the very beginning with the virtual experience, they will take your picture and give you a card. Keep the card. When you get on the ledge, they will want to scan it and then take your picture on the ledge too. As far as pictures go, I would highly recommend to buy the photo. For $30 you get a couple prints in addition to the digital copies and if you want more prints, they're like $10 extra. It's nice to buy the picture as they will have proper lighting to light you from the front as the outside is so bright. It was pretty cloudy for themes part and then it started to clear up a bit and the sun came out a little. Either way, worth it to get a nice picture if all you have is a cell phone. You can see what the photo looks like as it is watermarked in the top left corner. All other photos in the review were taken with a Canon r5. I hope this helps!

I came here during the week at about 1pm on a Monday mid May and there really wasn’t too much of a wait. I purchased our tickets online as we entered the building. Honestly, I had not been to the tower in about 3 years, there was obviously major renovations to the basement where you board the elevator to the Skydeck. ( Which really improved aspects of visiting the Willis tower) There was such cool decor and interactive features you could take photos next to. I particularly enjoyed the walk towards the elevators. You get up there fairly fast, so remember to bring some chewing gum for your ears. But once you’re up there it is absolutely spectacular. My favorite part was veering over the side that faces the lake. It was so beautiful, honestly who knew there were so many different shades of blue out there in Lake Michigan. My kids loved the opposite side that faces the city view because that’s where you get to stand on the glass ledge and see the city below you. You get about 2 full minutes to stand in the glass box they stick you in. You can take your own photos and you also have the option to purchase a photo they snap of you once you’re in there. They sell pretty gifts there but they are very pricy so don’t forget your loot. Absolutely highly recommend stopping at this Major Chicago Gem.

Really fun and great experience. I think it's priced very well for what you see and do. You get 2 minutes to take pictures and videos. When that's up you can get back in line to get another 2 minutes. Great views, especially at night. Just keep checking the weather making sure there's no clouds. You get your picture taken that you can purchase later. The gift shop is nice but very pricey. Highly recommended

The customer service here was phenomenal. They noticed my birthday crown and offered me a birthday button to wear, which was super cool! The views were gorgeous! Overall, it was a great way to kick off our Chicago/Birthday Trip! We bought the City Pass as well, which we highly recommend for the best value!

Had to take several elevators up. Parking was roughly $40, and we had 3 min to take pics. Also they took a photo of us, which we bought online and had sent home. (You can buy on spot and print iirc). I wasn't too thrilled about the price of the photo. Ink doesn't cost that much. You're already making money on admission. The view was amazing at night, but I'm not okay with getting price gouged with the photos. The little information/photo gallery you walk through beforehand was pretty cool too. This area is most definitely time gated. Show up a couple min early so you don't miss it, but not much more or you will wait. None of the restaurants were open either. 3 stars due to photo price gouge.

Very nice views, a bit crowded, so the time on the glass ledge is very limited. I liked that there were plenty of food options on the 1st floor and also enjoyed color factory while I waited for my time slot. The store is really well stocked and the prices weren't too bad.

Nice place, you can see all 4 corners of Chicago. We went during weekdays and wasn't crowded so we could stay more time taking pictures. We bought some souvenirs but then find out that the same souvenirs you can get them on CVS or Walgreen at 1/3 of the price.

Beautiful view and one of the tallest skyscraper in the US. Enjoyable experience as well with what they call « the ledge ». Highly advise to book this one through the City Pass as you will have access to the priority admission which allows you to skip a few queues.

What a cool tourist experience highly recommended for those visiting Chicago for the 1st time. Terrific views and photo opportunities were available. They also will take your photos for you on the deck. We purchased some photos as well that they took. We had a great time and captured a bunch of great shots. Very organized. Recommended pre-register online.

I am not usually a big fan of these tall building observatories, but Skydeck Chicago located in the Willis Tower was so much fun!! We went on a weekday so there were no lines. We went to the venue and purchased the timed tickets (a tour starts every 30 minutes). There is a great museum first that takes you through Chicago's history and all the famous buildings, food and celebrities of Chicago. Then you go up the elevator to the top and the views were amazing! What we loved best though were the projected decks (there are 5 of them) - it is super thrilling to get on them and look through the glass all the way to the ground. You are given 2 minutes to take as many pictures as you want here and if you want to take more, you can just get into the queue again! Overall, Skydeck in Willis Tower is a must visit for everyone visiting Chicago for the great views and the peek into history!

Listen if you're in Chicago do the skydeck end of discussion. It's absolutely amazing. 103 floors up. Don't be a wimp go out into the glass box! Enjoy the view. You can get back in line after your 1 minute is up. They time you based on your group size to move the line. It's such a cool experience. Worth the $30. On the way to the elevator they give you a cool back history lesson on the fires of Chicago that led to the architectural renaissance and his Chicago started a lot of America's modern style of construction. Take your time, savor every moment. I'd recommend going into the box and taking crazy pictures but then get back in line and savor the minute or two you get without the worries of taking pictures. Just absorb the view it's worth it.

I’ve been here more then 5 times over the years, it’s still worth it every time. They have changed a few things over the years and the biggest change I’ve seen was upped security, and setting a time limit on how long you are in the glass extensions well worth the visit for sure. I went during the morning on a Tuesday and it there was no wait, during our spring break time. (Local Chicago schools were in session) and yes you can get back in line to go on the view, but that wasn’t my point of my review. We enjoyed it and it’s well worth it,

Great observation deck. You can see 360° overview of downtown and have a great view of the lake. Looks especially nice at sunset. If you go during the week, it’s not busy and you can great pictures without having to wait for a long time. Highly recommended. The food court downstairs has a few good options as well.

Great views, friendly staff. Lines weren’t long once you get to the top. You get 90s on the Ledge but can rejoin the line for another 90 seconds. The queuing system at the bottom has a number of short cuts if you don’t want to look at the information.

So, there I was in Chicago, with just a day left to explore. I had heard about the Skydeck at Willis Tower, but I hadn't really planned on visiting. I thought, why not give it a shot? It's one of those things tourists do, right? And wow, am I glad I went for it. The moment you step onto the Skydeck, it's like the whole city opens up in front of you. You're way up there, on the 103rd floor, and the view is just mind-blowing. But here's the real showstopper – the glass box, also known as The Ledge. When you step out into it, there's this thrilling, almost surreal feeling. You're suspended in the air, with Chicago's streets and buildings far below. It's exhilarating and a little bit nerve-wracking, but in the best way possible. You're literally standing over the city, with nothing but glass under your feet! I spent a good amount of time just soaking in the views. You can see for miles – the skyscrapers, Lake Michigan, and on a clear day, even beyond the city limits. It's not just a tourist attraction; it's an experience that gives you a whole new perspective on Chicago. It's a must-do for sure, especially if you want to feel the heartbeat of the city from an entirely unique vantage point. Honestly, it was the perfect end to my Chicago trip. It’s one of those experiences that makes you appreciate the beauty and scale of a city. So, if you ever find yourself in Chicago with some time to spare, definitely check out the Skydeck. It's a memory you'll cherish long after you're back on solid ground.

Such a fun experience. Much better than the observatory at the Hancock building. Staff were all very friendly and organized. Experience you get before actually getting to the observatory is very cool and gets your attention. Views are awesome and the little windows that take you "outside" of the building are pretty cool! Pics and stuff are pricey but that's what you get at a touristy place.

Skydeck Chicago, located on the 103rd floor of the iconic Willis Tower, offers an unforgettable experience with its breathtaking views of the city and beyond. Visitors can enjoy a 360-degree perspective of Chicago, witnessing its architectural brilliance and the expanse of Lake Michigan. The highlight for many is The Ledge, a glass box that extends out from the building, allowing you to stand 1,353 feet above the city streets. This thrilling feature provides a unique photo opportunity and a palpable sense of adventure. However, it is worth noting that the experience can be hampered by long wait times, particularly during peak tourist season. Additionally, the cost of admission may be steep for some budgets. Despite these potential drawbacks, the unparalleled views and the thrill of The Ledge make Skydeck Chicago a must-visit for both tourists and locals alike. The staff at Skydeck Chicago are generally praised for their professionalism and friendliness, enhancing the overall visitor experience. The venue is well-maintained, ensuring safety and comfort for all. In conclusion, Skydeck Chicago offers a mesmerizing experience with its stunning views and unique features. While it may be busy at times and on the pricier side, the memories made at this towering attraction are sure to last a lifetime.

An absolute must-see attraction if visiting Chicago. The attraction includes a walk-through exhibit about the buildings, culture, history, and even food of Chicago before you arrive at the elevators to take you up. They will squish you into those elevators tight, but luckily it's not a very long ride. The view is 360 degrees and the highlight, in my opinion, is the ledge where you can step out over the streets of Chicago and look down. Visiting at night is a particularly special experience that really is mesmerizing and beautiful at the same time.

I went back in June & the experience was awesome. To see the view of Chicago was beautiful. I would recommend catching these views if you are visiting. It does get crowded, so be prepared. On your way to the top, they give you information / this history on Chicago, so that was great... especially if you've never been.

Absolutely exhilarating though I backed onto the ledge and didn't look down! We went during golden hour though I think the lighting for pictures would've been best at dusk or night. The weather was perfect on Saturday so we could see for miles! The staff was really nice and directed us to the shortest line! I think it's great that there's a time limit for everyone and that you're able to get back into line if you want to take another look or get more pictures! We only waited about 15 minutes each time, and went up on the ledge twice. The gallery preceding the elevator to the 103rd floor was really informative and taught me a lot I didn't already know about Chicago or other tall buildings. The money is totally worth it! Get tickets ahead of time!!!

A little on the expensive side, but a tourist focused place so expected I guess. Run of the mill picture before you start and purchase options after that lead you directly through a gift shop at the end. What we loved is that they have done a wonderful job with the before elevator ride up presentation. There are many fun stations to take pictures and many interactive and informative facts on the wall. You then wait in a short line before taking the elevator up to the 103rd floor for viewing. If you’ve never done, I highly recommend the experience!

Make sure to make reservations prior to arriving. We bought the city pass and realized the day before that we had to make reservations. Thankfully, there were still open slots. Other than that, it was absolutely amazing. The lines went by relatively quickly and there were lots of information panels. The ledge is definitely worth the extra money.

Great place to see the city from above. I would’ve preferred to go at night to see the city lights. It has great views and all the stuff you see before getting to the sky deck is pretty cool too. It was a fun experience while we visited Chicago.

If you're visiting The Ledge, buy your tickets for about the time you plan to be there. You don't have to show up exactly at this time, it just helps the exhibit control the chaos. There's an amazing museum after check-in leading to the elevators that take you up, so give yourself 30-45 minutes to enjoy all that as well. The elevator ride is ridiculously quick at under a minute. You can hang out on the Skydeck for as long as you like. Once at The Ledge, you can get back into the queue as many times as you like. They only give you about 90 seconds on The Ledge, a little more for larger groups, so have your poses planned in advance. I suggest visiting well before sunset, as photos can be washed out by the sun behind you. However, just after sunset and before dusk is beautiful. And when it's finally dark out, the city lights are wonderful viewing, but pictures can get lots of glare and reflection off the glass. Once back on the ground, they will sell you photos and digital copies for an expected premium, $35-50. The Ledge exhibit costs about $35/person, so it can be expensive for larger groups/families, but overall it's a wonderful experience. Research your parking options ahead of time, or expect to pay about $50 on top of the exhibit fees. On a personal note, the entire staff from building entry, up to the top, and back down on the ground were extremely helpful, friendly, and professional.

It is only 1 minute on the deck. 1 minute!? What can you do in 1 minute🤣 They have alarms and kick you out after 60 seconds. BUT you can make a round, stay in line again, and have 1 more minute. And then 1 more. And do it how many times you want. We bought expedited tickets($55), and was helpful with the lines.

Thrilling experience, but be brave! I bought my tickets through Chicago City Pass, I skipped all the long lines for entrance and elevator, highly recommended. The views are unrivaled and the gift shop has coordinated trinkets. The ledge is definitely not for the faint of hearted. Again City Pass saved me lots of time. My daughter loved the thrill of being outside the building. Go for it!

This is the best view in the city. It's not cheap for what it is though. It would have been great if they had some kind of window washer because the glass was very dirty so taking good pictures is kinda hard. I understand that it's 103 floor so it's not ideal.

  • 4/5 Tanina W. 5 months ago on Google
The experience was fun. The only issue I had was I was there solo and another solo traveler asked me to take her photos. We each only got 30 seconds. But you can go back in the line as many times as you want.

Fun experience. Keep in mind that there may be some waiting times. We used our Chicago pass for entry. If you're with a big group I would recommend getting the express passes. The route to the observation deck is actually quite fun as it provides some backdrops for photo ops and some educational information on Chicago buildings and culture. They take green screen pictures shortly after entering the line and upstairs at the ledge they take two professional pictures that you can purchase. downstairs for $31. The friendly staff is also very helpful and happy to take pictures with your own phone. You have about 1 minute to take your own pictures while on the ledge.

A bit pricey, but well worth it! I have been here before but it was my fiancé’s first time in Chicago, so we had to go! The interactive tour of the history of Chicago during the walk to the elevators is super cool, and very educational. There are also plenty of photo ops here before you even go to the top. The line at the elevator can get pretty backed up during busy times but this is to be expected. Once at the top, the views are simply unreal from every direction! The Ledge is awesome and they limit your time on the Ledge to 60 seconds in order to make sure everyone gets a chance to experience it. You can always stand in line again and go back if you wish. I recommend going around one hour before sunset on a clear day if possible, that way you get to experience Skydeck both during the day and at night! I’m a huge Breakfast Club fan, so I thought the sign marking where Ferris, Cameron, and Sloane were standing in the movie was a cool touch!

A big question before visiting the Skydeck was to whether see the Skydeck or 360. I ended up seeing both and I can tell you my opinion about Skydeck in comparison with 360. First, if you plan to see more than one tourist attraction definitely buy a city pass and it will be way cheaper. You need a reservation, but even if you don’t the ticketing staff are nice to get you tickets there. If you’re planning your time, I’d say set aside at least 20 minutes for the bottom. The hallway that ends up to the elevator is full of replicas, signs, photos about the Chicago architecture and how the Willis Tower was built. A lot of cool things to take pictures of and read. They take you up to 104th floor. Willis tower is the highest tower in Chicago, world’s tallest tower from 1973 to 1998, and currently the 3rd tallest tower in the western hemisphere. So you’d see a really good view of the City, the river and 360 degree full of tall buildings. There are glass box ledges where you can stand and feel the suspension and take a lot of cool photos. However you need to line up and staff give you like 30 seconds to take photos and leave. They send people to each box on two groups so each group gets a corner of the box. The coolest pictures are jumping in the air or upside down stands. Comparing to 360 Chicago Building, you’d see more towers from a slightly higher elevation, but in 360 you get to do the tilt which adds another layer of thriller to it. Also 360 has more view of the Lake Michigan. I don’t recommend buying souvenirs from the gift shop as it’s double the price of outside stores.

You HAVE to buy the expedited entry. TOTALLY worth it. Separate lines for everything and made this experience all the better. Warning ⚠️ this is not for people scared of heights. I'm not really scared of heights, but definitely got a little woozy when I stepped on the ledge. My partner couldn't step on to the glass, he started feeling bad and dizzy and started to turn pale (he's not even that scared of heights!). Otherwise, so much fun!

Another must if you are visiting Chicago! On this Veterans Day weekend, we enjoyed wonderful views that captured every part of the city. Though the event created wonderful photography opportunities, seeing with your own eyes is beyond words. 10/10

Great view. It is better to take a general admission so that way you can click many pictures in the museum as well and there is not much wait untill we reach the top floor. Be prepared for that plane take off feeling when going up on elevator, it really is fast. When you are in queue at the top, plan ahead (especially when went in groups) of each minute as you will have around 2 minutes only to stay on glass compartment. Try as many crazy poses possible 😜 Cool merchandise as well though they are bit price but reasonable.

In the area doing tourist stuff... Wife's birthday and she had never been to Chicago.. so up for views we went... it was a pleasant visit even bought some pictures of us from the ledge they had. Overall a friendly staff and warm experience. I love the lead up to the elevators.. so many pic opportunities.. I had fun with them.... Last time I visited it was the Sears tower... Would definitely recommend if in the area. Will visit again! Respectfully Bryan Oklahoma City

Try coming before sunset! So you can see all the "stages" of the sun for the ultimate photo opportunities! And I definitely recommend the "fast" pass! You can go take photos up to 3 times!

Great place for sightseeing. Make sure you arrive around sunset time so you get both day and night view. Entrance is on the Jackson Blvd. Inside the building has plenty of seating while your wait and shake shack plus more for dining options.

We loved the view. Over a thousand feet up and able to see into other states. Seeing cars and river traffic from that height was quite a sight. Definitely try to get reservations if you can are just general entry if you are in Chicago.

Wow this museum was so much more than we thought when we bought our advance tickets. We definitely did not allot enough time to see everything. I would love to come back on my next trip to Chicago. We did also take our 2 minutes because there were 3 of us to step out onto the glass window sill. What a feeling. Not scary at all but very cool.

The view from the top is absolutely dizzying, and the ledge they installed in the late 2000s is beautifully terrifying! But what surprised me, was the museum you walk through, in the lower levels, before heading to the top: that was unexpected (although I didn't do much research before going to the building) but a very pleasant surprise. As a matter of fact, in my hurry to get to the top, I already regret going through that area as fast as I did and not fully appreciating it. Regardless, it was an amazing experience, and one I highly recommend!

The observation area has such outstanding views of Chicago! It's well worth the money to take the ride to the top. My only complaint is there is absolutely no seating in the observation area. Unlike Las Vegas and other areas with similar observation decks, this one has no place to sit down.

The skydeck was a nice experience. The regular admission provides a brief Chicago experience and some brief information about the skyscrapers in Chicago. There is a nice view at level 103 and you enjoy elevated view of the Chicago. You will also have access to the ledges, but they only let you spend time there for a minute, but it depends on your luck and how grumpy is the security person there 😉 I think best time to visit the Skydeck is some time around the sunset, and consider it takes about an hour to get there through the regular admission.

Awesome experience! I don’t even have words. The walkway to the elevators is littered with Chicago history and the view from the top! Priceless! The lines are quite long getting into and out of the elevator and to get pictures on the actual sky deck but it comes with the territory in these kind of things. But thoroughly enjoyed it. I’d come again and bring friends

If you have to choose between this and 360 Chicago with tilt, I recommend this. The glass ledge is way more immersive than the tilt. When you’re at the top you can take your time enjoying the views. I recommend doing the expedited admission. It wasn’t very busy when I went, but it was worth it to skip the line to the glass ledge. You only get one minute on the ledge so be prepared for how you will spend your time.

Walking thru the Chicago history was a gift to remember. Ended up buying a magnet in the gift shop. I'm afraid of heights, I didn't puke!!!! Had a great time being 1300 feet up. I've been working on fighting my fears and this was one good way to do it. Sky diving will be next. Loved visiting Chicago and will be hopefully returning in the future!

1st time here! Definitely a must do if in the area. We bought our tickets online for a Thursday afternoon in August. The crowd was too busy for our time slot. They let us go up 15 minutes early. There’s a gift shop before you go up and another one once up. There’s tons of history information about Willis tower and Chicago on the way up. There is also a section for photo ops of different things around Chicago, which was cool. The elevator ride up is cool and would definitely have your phone out for a video. Prepare for your ears to pop from going so fast up. Once up you can look around for however long you want to but once you do the sky deck ledge it’s only 2 minutes per group and they time you. The elevator down is split up into two elevators. They do cram you into the elevators. There’s two photo ops before going up and on the ledge for them to take a professional picture. To get both and a digital copy is only $42.00, which we found really good versus other places we have been too.

Although it was Father's Day the wait wasn't bad at all. The view is to die for haha. The gallery before you enter the elevator is fun too. I do suggest you take a photo at the deck, they have a camera on top and the price is $31 for one photo, but if you think it's a bit pricey, then you have 2 minutes to spend there and take amazing photos yourselves. It is worth it because you get to see downtown Chicago as a whole, including the surrounding areas, the lake, river and airport. Have fun !!!

Wow the views are crazy! It is so worth it I would do it again! Buy the city pass so the attraction is cheaper. If you don’t have city pass you will wait 2 hours! But with City pass I waited 5 minutes so great tip! I saw the city at night and it was lovely! At the end you get a chance to take a cool photo but you only have 2 min so you need to be quick.

It’s a really dope view of the city. My favorite view is east facing the water. The only thing interesting going on West is a United Center. The ledge was cool but I like the tilt a little more. The gift shop is really massive and has an ample amount of items to pick from. As a visitor of the city I highly recommend getting the expedited city pass.

The Skydeck is a cool experience that is way more than just the standing on the ledge part. There’s a whole maze of interactive areas to walk around. Then you get a fun elevator ride up to the top. The views at the top are fantastic. The one bummer is that you only get a minute or two on the ledge so be quick with your pictures. Definitely a place worth checking out.

Skydeck was a cool experience for my entire family. It was a little scary stepping out into the box for the first time but we got used to it pretty quickly. You get 60-90 seconds depending on the size of your party but you can go as many times as you like. No better way to see the beautiful city of Chicago.

Very nice place to check out. The views are incredible! Better management is needed, though, on how much time people can spend taking pictures. The time clock doesn't work for all groups who are there to enjoy the place.

This place really worth it because it is not only tho skydeck (which is amazing) but all the history and narrative they have about the city and the building, there are also places to eat meanwhile you’re waiting your hour to got up. The service is really good. Unfortunately was raining during our visit but still we got nice views. 100% recommended

Honestly not worth the hype! Still a cool experience but for the money, it’s just a view of the city from above. Nothing crazy. Save the money and go hit a good restaurant or bar. Buy your tickets in advance. I was up there for less than 10 minutes.

This was a must-do on my first trip to Chicago! We went early in the day, with a reservation at 9:30am. It was pretty quiet and we didn't have to wait in any lines to go up, step on the ledge, or come back down. We were able to spend as much time as we wanted at the top, and even went out on the ledge several times. The views were spectacular, of course! The employees were friendly and took pics with our camera for us (which was nice, because their photos are quite pricey starting at $30ish for one). They offered a free ticket for military and veterans, which was an amazing surprise. As we were leaving I noticed the crowd was starting to grow, so I definitely recommend going early if you want to minimize the wait.

It's a great experience, as long as you know what to expect. The Skydeck is a very touristy, commercial experience. It's set up for a lot of people to get through in one day, particularly during peak season. I was able to get through with expedited entry with CityPASS, and I highly recommend it. You get placed on the next elevator ahead of all regular entry visitors. When you get up to the top, you have views of the city in almost all directions as well as the gift shop. I appreciated that they marked where Ferris and his friends stood in Ferris Bueller's Day Off, since that's what inspired me to visit Chicago in the first place. Once you get around the building and through The Ledge area, you are funneled back to the elevators to go down. If you aren't using The Ledge, you don't get a view of the west side of Chicago. In comparison to 360 Chicago (John Hancock building), I slightly prefer 360 Chicago because (1) this location is set up to funnel you around the building one time and then back down, with no space for 'hanging out' (I stayed at 360 Chicago for two hours, but I stayed at Skydeck for maybe twenty minutes), (2) the water views are more interesting at 360 Chicago and you can look in all directions, and (3) I slightly preferred the TILT over the Ledge in terms of the rush it gives. With that said, I still really enjoyed Skydeck and would recommend it to other visitors.

Great place to see the best views of the city. Night time is the best time especially when everything is lit up. It wasn't crowded on the way up so I assumed there were going to be some covid restrictions in place to keep the elevator from being too crowded but sadly no. I didn't see any of the employees cleaning or sanitizing. Only one elevator was working and they packed people in like sardines. We tried waiting until the line died down but it never did.

My out of town family LOVED visiting the Skydeck - even with a smoky sky that day. The views are incredible and the Edge Ledge glass box is so cool. But a nice surprise is the walk through museum and photo ops before going up. We had a blast checking the Chicago facts and history out that day.

Everyone should experience Chicago from the top as well as from the river and the neighborhoods. We really enjoyed the exhibit leading to the lookout, too. Some in our group stepped out onto the glass ledge very reluctantly, but all enjoyed mastering the challenge. The views were breathtaking.

I have lived in the Chicago area my whole life and somehow just made it to this. It is really other worldly up there. We happened to go on the Friday before the airshow when the Thunderbirds were practicing. It was so cool to watch that from ABOVE them. If you are in the area it is a tough thing miss. Don’t sleep on it like I did!

The sky deck requires reservation. It has general entry and expedited entry. I booked using city pass app. The general entry takes you through a whole history of the city, I would recommend that. There are places to take pictures and some cool facts about the city and it’s architecture. At 103rd floor you get to see panoramic views of the city . The ledge allows one party at a time for 90 to 120 sec so you can take pictures from there. They also take some pictures for you. They cost $31 for first set and $11 for next set. They have shops and restaurants in the tower but the restaurants were closed when I visited . There are ample bathrooms and diaper changing areas .

Fantastic experience at the Skydeck. Our Chicago City pass tickets gave us expedited entry, we by passed all the long lines. You gotta step out on the ledge!!!
