The Yellow trail on the Sag Trail system is great! It's a good length and very clean and roomy. The only littered area is at Swallow Cliff where many inconsiderate visitors can't seem to find the numerous recycling bins available. I really do love these trails though - and they're plenty spacious for 'Rona days.

What a nice place for a hike. Stairs at swallow cliff are so great with a positive community of active adults. I hope you get to meet there ever friendly Joe from Detroit on the stairs here. What a great guy! Enjoy the climbs and hikes. Cook County has see one great with this location.

This place is gorgeous!! We went hiking early summer when the grounds were lush and green. I felt like I was on a movie. Each part of the forest we explored felt like a different world. The orange trail was rather intense but definitely a serious workout that you'll feel accomplished to finish. We went in during the pandemic so the parking lots were closed off. It made for a congestion free, quiet experience. I recommend going on weekdays or anytime that's not peak hours or weekends.

Absolutely amazing! You can either take a peaceful stroll in the trails and enjoy the scenery. Or challenge yourself by climbing the 125 step staircase they have!! My husband and I love this place... today we completed 10 rounds of climbing! That's 1,250 stairs! 🥵😄

Clean, peaceful and scenic. We walked from Grove 1 heading west on the path. The main path is gravel and along the way there are options for a more natural (not man made) paths to walk deeper into the woods. The stream had an option to walk over a bridge or thru water on rocks; which we thought was really cool. Made me think Bridge to Terabithia (book version) but it has been many years since I read it.

The walking path was a bit flooded when I came here, however this park is located directly across the street from a nice bike/walking trail, which is on higher ground and was not flooded. Very nice scenery. I will be back again.

Plenty of mapped paths and beautiful dirt trails to walk. Nice groves, many with pavilions to hang out at with friends.

Beautiful place. So much restoration work has been done--see if you can help out on a work day! See the volunteer section of the forest preserve homepage.

Took my dog for a walk. It was great and relaxing. But it was the first time she ever saw a horse. She acted like a scared rabbit. Funny.

Very nice trails. Always love to get to decompress with a walk in the woods. Did a 4.5 mile walk and loved every moment.
