Didn't feel like doing the 175 steps going up, so we did a autumn color walk on a 2.5 mile loop ending at the top of the stairs. Our dog enjoyed the outing as much as we did.

It's a really nice place! I always love going here and the forest is huge. The steps are a good workout and if you don't feel like going up and down again, you can just go walk in the forest. Beautiful place and you can bike, run, hike, train, sled in the winter! There's a spot where you can buy food, snacks, and drinks.

This has been one of my outside workout spots for years. Climbing the stairs consistently will easily get you gains. There are bathrooms conveniently located right by the stairs. Beautiful greenery all around. Sometimes I’ll just chill there for hours after my workout because it’s that’s peaceful.

Highly recommend if You need a workout to measure your endurance, heart rate, and overall fitness level, this is the place. Hands down great workout for any fitness level, anyone and everyone levels here sore. I love to get here early mornings to avoid foot traffic but it’s honestly big enough.

Great place for a good workout! There is a lot of people, but it's not hard to navigate around them. Recommend the ginger shot from the smoothie bar!

I don’t know if you’re a democrat, but you about to feel the Bern going up these stairs. Bring your inhaler because there’s about 150 steps and 2 days worth of soreness but the views from the top and the trails I make it worth it.

A great place to test yourself physically, plus the walk/run in the nearby trails is always a plus. You can do just the stairs as many times as you safely can or enjoy the trails. On the right day you can maybe do both!

The stairs are great for working out and the view at the top is nice. The Swallow Cliff trail is about 3.5 miles around with winding trails and lots to look at. If on the trail, be careful at the underpasses since they don't totally dry out. Go early since the parking lot fills up by 8 am.

Great place to get a good walk or run in. It was peaceful and everyone I ran into either smiled or waved as they went by. They have a few ways to enter if you are not up to the stairs. The view from top of stairs was breathtaking. This place is a definite must if you love the outdoors and trails. The trails had the little pebbles that do tend to get in your shoes but nothing that would make me not want to come back.

Don't feel discourage to come by yourself. There are a lot of people that come alone and they are just focusing on their own thing. I loved it, great outdoor workout. They have a cafe/juice bar and bathrooms.

This is a great place to exercise! This location used to be their old toboggan slides until Stroger Jr. shuttered all the Cook County toboggan slides. When you approach this place you can see the magnificence of it. There are stairs on either side so the group of people usually go up one side and down the other side. When you get to the top there is a big area to walk around and regain your breath. I didn't count the stairs, but the stairs are huge and they seem to go on forever. The nice thing about the stairs in that they are not entirely uniform. One step could be 8 inches high and the next step could be a foot high. If you are scared of heights or scared that you might fall, you want to stay to the far right as there is a railing that you can grab onto if necessary. It's enough stairs that most people will definitely be huffing and puffing when they get to the top. My wife and I went up and down 5 times on our first trip to the Swallow Cliff stairs. You will see people carrying things up the stairs to increase their workout intensity. One guy was carrying an 80 pound boxing punching bag on his shoulders as he went up and down the stairs. He must have been in phenomenal shape as that feat would be extremely difficult. I highly recommend the swallow cliff stair for its beauty and to burn calories for a nice workout.

Nice park. Wish there was a map to take along with all the side trails and park entrances. Wish bags were required for horses so we wouldn't have to watch our step everywhere. The steps are fun and in sure in winter the sledding hill is incredible!

Very neat area for a stairs workout. I also walked the Yellow Cal Sag Trail loop from the bottom of the stairs.

There was a nice sized parking lot and bathrooms available. Dogs are NOT allowed on the stairs, but there are plenty of walking paths as well. We went on a beautiful day. Make sure you bring water.

This park has beautiful trails, spring flowers were on the meadows and the stairs is awesome for leg and cardio workouts. I went up the stairs 5x and will comeback for 10x. It will be a good training for backcountry hiking.

The stairs are harder than it looks. Tried running to the top and only got half way. Great workout and nice wooded trails when you get to the top.

8-mile Yellow Trail loop has very challenging climbs for bikers. We rode clockwise and it seemed like the right choice as this would allow us to catch our breath between climbs. Our app clocked 8.2miles.

Took my 5 year old grandson here today because he saw it on a board at the Little Red School house and he said he wanted to try. He aas a trooper and him and papa walked all the way to the top and then back down.

Screens from the yellow trail starting at the Little Red School House. Not as rugged as Swallow Cliff, but requires an intermediate hiking skill. Now there are plenty of songbirds singing, bullfrogs at the kettle pond off Wolf Road Woods, and Great White Herons.

The stairs are killer in a good way. This is an awesome workout. My first time but I'll definitely come and do the stairs every time I visit. Next time I'm doing the trail as well. Nice outdoor environment!

I enjoyed coming here and checking the place out. Place was easy to find and parking is super convenient. I had a great leg workout - doing 15 trips in total but it got redundant after a while. Even coming early afternoon on a Thursday is was still pretty crowded to my liking. The left side stairs is currently closed-off to visitors as it’s currently under construction which is why it’s likely more crowded now all-day. I wouldn’t mind coming here again with a friend to catch-up and workout but I wouldn’t go out of my way otherwise to come back.

Cardio..?? Well. Is in fact the whole body and mind. Awesome place. Ample parking and greens. 300+ risers make you sweat the big stuff. People carry the times they climb with small pebbles. Even though parking was almost full, no issues with crowded space. Alone of in group, you will enjoy it. Guaranteed..!!

The park was full of like minded people who love fitness. I was there to support my wife and son. Being disable ♿ not being able to climb the stairs everyone that walk, jogged or even ran past me sitting on my mobility scooter was very kind. My did notice one thing. He said Dad these alot of people doing calisthenic but their in the wet grass. My son also said Dad this park would be awesome with a calisthenic park like the ones they have in New York parks. I was like you're right.

Great place to get a good workout! My calves are still burning 2 days later. I guess I need to go more often. Love that there are clean bathrooms and drinking fountains, including one to fill water bottles.

Great workout on stairs! It's been awhile since I last visited. I truly appreciate all the upgrades, bathrooms, café, and additional set of stairs

Very challenging (for me) I love the steepness of the stairs. It really hits those muscles that you haven't used in a while, if you're a person like me who doesn't work out often. I feel like doing this alone maybe two to three times up and back would put anybody into shape. Best part about it is, you go at your own speed. Some people are really trying to get a good heavy day's workout in and others are just scrolling along taking a nice little non intense exercise. Thumbs up for me. I try to go every weekend. (I live an hour away)

Great place for a workout and I love to see people as determined as I to climb up and down the stairs. plenty of parking during the weekday! I came here a few times during the weekend and they had the parking lot close because of too much traffic in the area but I have to say this is a great time with family or even on a date
