Actually we were at Bachelors Grove cemetery across the street. It has been cleaned up a lot, on the day we were there someone, or many someones, had left flowers and gifts on all the markers.

The "gateway" to Bachelor's Grove Cemetery. The woods are, well, woods. Well kept, never crowded. Nice bike paths.

The actual trail is for the most part great - pristine, untouched prairies offer a glimpse of what Illinois probably looked like a couple of hundred years ago. Will be returning in the Fall as I imagine it would be gorgeous (will update with photos). Bike riding is more or less enjoyable though there are some choppy points and more street crossings than I'd prefer - for that reason I suggest parking at 135th St. and Oak Park Ave. One gripe is that the speed limits on the intersecting streets really should *not* be 50 m.p.h....watch closely when you do cross. A really worthwhile highlight, however, is some nearby history for the not so faint of heart, that is, Bachelor's Grove Cemetery, world renowned for its paranormal activity.

We haven't been here in about 10 years. We are really pleasantly surprised about the improvements. Looks like someone is taking care of the cemetery with respect. Our kids wanted to see one of the most haunted places in America so here we are!

9 mile loop of paved path! This also connects to other woods in case you'd like to add mileage. Love to run this path! Bathrooms along the path and plenty of parking. Always feel safe.

Lots of space to relax in private. The bike paths lead all over the south suburbs. It's a well maintained place.

I love this place! I go there for long walks, and it is a great place for that - walks. It's well maintained and safe, and the riff raff haven't yet discovered it, so it's a "must walk" for people looking for quality time in a quality place.

Haven't explored much, but from what I saw, it was just a forest with a cemetery close to the entrance. The way we went in, we had to cross road to go into it, it's cool definitely, but im not that into ghost(yet) Will update this when I go back, till then it was meh.

The majority of the parking lot was completely shut off you couldn't even drive back and everything was closed down. I understand it's early in the year but knowing that these two beautiful days are coming you guys should have had that open

Great forest preserve. The front features a nice open field for frisbee, kites, kids, or even model rockets! A long winding road stretches back into some nice shaded nooks and coves. There is also a paved bike path that travels into many adjacent preserves stretching for miles. SIDE NOTE: If you you're looking to stroll through the very near Bachelor's Grove Cemetery (just across the main steet) this is the place to park.

This woods has a nice walking yrail. The only thing I dislike is having to cross 2 streets to get to the other side of the trail. I'll definitely go back.

Pleasant peaceful place for nature. I could gather my thoughts and set a direction.

👍 It's not as creepy and interesting as it was - now maintained and landscaped, grass cut weekly, no more wildflowers or vines. Some very rude tour companies have tours on many weekends and act like they own the place. Park across in Rubio Woods. The path to the cemetery is West of the big cell tower...
