Lovely place

Really nice area with a lake and some unpaved trails. Pretty popular for bikers to visit for the scenery and other people to walk around. They have garbage cans for convenience. Overall really nice, would enjoy this view again.

Awesome place to meditate

So I finally found an entrance. I'm hoping that it's the wrong entrance. I went here because I saw other reviews saying it was a good place for kids. The area that we went to was an open area with decent parking. There were two picnic tables set out and two different trails. One to the left and one to the right. Both were grass trails so not great for strollers or wagons. I walked the one to the left and about 3 minutes in, it ended. Trees on one side and tall grass on the other completely covering visibility to the water. We then walked the other side and it was about the same thing but this one has a picnic table sitting at the end and you actually get a decent view of the water from that point. Definitely not a good spot for kids. There was nothing to do there but go down 2 different 3-5 minute trails.

Beautiful forest preserve area. Great for a nice walk with your dog and great wildlife discovery for kids and adults. Wonderful picnic area as well.

A peaceful spot to eat a sandwich. Convenient trash barrels, nice view.

Parking leaves a lot to be desired. Sign says stay off the grass. However the circle isn't wide enough to park and pass.

Very Beautiful place! An right in our back yard! There are two grass walking paths on either side of the grove. We took the one on the east side of the Grove which went back into a wooded area. A lot of Monarchs, Cabbage Whites, and pollenating bees.

Went to the old camping place after 50 years. No trace of the fourty and eight settlement. Plenty of wildlife

There are some beautiful forest preserves around Cook County, but this is probably one of my favorites. It's a gorgeous, serene location perfect for reconnecting with nature. If you're driving by, take a few minutes to stop by. You won't regret it.

There for several hours and it's a awesome place. Unfortunately, I was there on a day when they were cutting the grass. Stayed in the shade mostly as it was 90° that day.

Nice spot stopped by and had lunch hear. Park was nice and clean/ well kept.

Fall colors are beautiful in the forest.

Could find no place to park?? Google takes you to a sign with no parking or trails.
