I order several times because the food is good. The last order there was barely any garlic sauce. The sauce is the key component. My order was ruined because my food was dry. They need to pay attention what they are doing instead of rushing to get orders through. At least put extra sauce in a container. Waste of money.

We came in right before closing time. Everyone was really nice and took care of our order. The food was really good. One of the best shawarma places I have been. I recommend coming here, indoor or out door dining is available. Grilled chicken, steak and chicken shawarma, and gyros is available with many toppings. A bit pricey but worth it, you’ll be stuffed.

I've driven past this place a thousand times and finally found the chance to stop and try it, Glad I did! Whether you’re a fan of Mediterranean or a first timer this is a great place to try. The ingredients were fresh and delicious. I got the Gyro Rice bowl with both types of rice. Seasoned well and a very healthy portion. I highly recommend this place.

We ordered here while they did their donations to Gaza through Pious Projects and I was so happy we came by. The place was buzzing and the service was incredible. We were ordering takeout for quite a few people and they were very patient with us. The space was very clean as well. Every single person LOVED their meal. The bowls and shawarma are perfect! The servings were generous and the ingredients tasted fresh! We absolutely will be returning!

Truly one of the best places on earth. Lately I've been eating here at least once a week. The employees recognize me and know what I like to order. The food is amazing, the price is extremely fair, and the workers are all extremely friendly and amazing people. They are always very quick. Would recommend this to absolutely anybody.

My only complaint was that I couldn’t decide what I wanted because there were so many combinations. I went with the chicken garden (came with fries) and added some falafel & a pita with a side of garlic sauce. I was very pleased. It’s a simple yet efficient system with average customer service. Good option for a quick & tasty meal. I dined in and there a lot of people came through the line so that’s always a good sign.

Excellent Mediterranean bowls! Pick your protein and 5 other sides to complete your healthy meal. Ingredients were fresh. Plenty of ingredients and sauces to pick from. The portion is very good as well. Service was fast, yet they were not rushing you through the line as you’re picking the ingredients. Price point was fair. $10.99/ bowl. I recommend this for the fresh and healthiness of the ingredients. There are approximately 8 small tables for dine in. It’s self service, so after eating you’d toss the garbage and stack your tray. Located in a strip mall and there is ample parking.

OmG for real. People be careful where YOU eat. I just left from SemSem, as I walking in to the store,one of the guys dropped a pita on the floor, picked it up blew on it and continue preparing it for the customer(online order). Now, Owner of the store check your cameras 11/14 evening hours around 6pm and later, and you gonna see it.

Great chicken shawarma and amazing mediterranean cuisine. Prices are fair for the amount of food you get and the quality of it is outstanding. I got a bowl and there were many choices for customization to your liking. The falafel here is also very delicious.

Hands down the best shawarma in the south suburbs. I have tried many many places, and nothing comes close. The staff is welcoming and promt, and the quality of the food always leaves me wanting more. The perfect spot for lunch, 2nd lunch, pre-dinner snack, and dinner #2. 10/10 highly reccomend.

I will definitely come back. I ordered takeout online, it was easy and had no problems picking up. The food was delicious and I loved the fact you can build your own wrap because as a vegan this leaves me with options to choose from; I ordered a falafel wrap, lentil soup and grape leaves. However, the lentil soup was different from others that I'd tried at other Mediterranean places, this one is more "soupie" rather than creamy, you can't really feel or taste the lentils and has a spicy kick to it but all in all it tastes good. On the other hand, the falafel wrap and grape leaves were two-thumbs-up and will definitely order those again.

The shawarma wrap was really good and the hummus was super flavorful! The restaurant is a counterservice and you select what toppings you want for your entree.

I got the chicken over rice that comes with tomatoes lettuce and white and red sauce. It comes with pita. My boy Basheer hooked it up as you can see the bowl is filled to the top in the photo unlike at chipotle where you don’t get anything. W sem sem and w manz basheer

At the restaurant you can build your own bowl and they have pre-made bowls. If I come again I would do the pre-made bowls because I don’t think I did a good job mixing my own. I also tried their Naan which was good.

This place is incredible. Quality Mediterranean like you'd find in a sit down restaurant, but made quickly! Ingredients were fresh and full of taste. Staff is very friendly, and the price is great. Highly recommended.

I was skeptical of SemSem because is by a shopping mall. The place is spacious and had a long line of Mediterranean people which is a good sign the food is good. They had so many things to chose from it was hard to decide. But finally I had a big bowl of rice, meat, dolmas and other delicious things all piled in top of each other. They also have many bottle drinks to choose from and that deserves an extra star. (I dislike machine sodas). Prices are reasonable for the quality, abundance, and variety of food. Most appreciated is the originality of the food. Everything was delicious. The manager was there in the middle of the floor available to anyone and watching the whole operation. I highly recommend SemSem.

This review is mainly a complaint about delivery orders. When eating there everything is great but when you order delivery from any source they don’t seem to care if the oder is right. I even called this time to ask them to make sure it was correct and it wasn’t made correctly. Sauce left oof, wrong choice of salads on the shwarma bowl. Do better!!

Food all taste the same ..over priced

Friendly people, atmosphere was great my first time eating Mediterranean food, I had a chicken bowl with Arabic salad, lettuce, pickled turnips, topped with ranch dressing delicious.

I usually dig in before I even think about taking a photo. This time I remembered before demolishing the bowl too much! This is the falafel bowl. I requested hummus, Arabic salad, lettuce, onion and dolmas (grape leaves) on top of spicy rice (up to 5 toppings allowed). Before eating vegan I used to get the bowl with chicken and that was delicious as well. It's great that the food is already cooked and we are served as soon as we walk in.

Don’t come here unless you prefer to be lied to about them not charging you for something and when you confront them about it they tell you they’re right even tho they’re website says that the “extras” you ordered don’t come with your plate check the website a shawarma plate comes with tomato and onion ive never experienced ruder service in all my life a dollar was thrown at me while talking to the person behind me instead of apologizing and a have a nice day was shouted at me as I walked out! Btw this was a phone order that when I came in needed to be clarified guess they couldn’t pick up the phone to clarify I will never be back or recommend this place!

This is possibly the best Shawarma place in all of Chicago. The staff is empowered. They forgot something in one of the sandwiches and they brought it later. They had us sample their shawarma and before buying it. That’s how confident they are. It tasted absolutely incredible. The service was incredible and this is definitely the best Shawerma place in Chicago.

This place is on of those a MUST TRY. The food is delicious and they have many choices. Everything is fresh and prepared for you on spot. People are very friendly, atmosphere is great.

I’ve been coming to this place for years. Probably eaten here 40 times. The food has stayed consistent and fresh and flavorful. Which is rare. Customer service is great too. Never had a problem. I would definitely recommend them.

I love this place! Great, authentic food, sizable portions, fair prices and everything made fresh. But what really sets it apart is the streamlined ordering process, which honestly a lot of local Mediterranean places miss the mark on. You can order a feast and be in and out in 5min, whereas other places you either have to call and order ahead or prepare for a 20-30min wait.

I love Mediterranean food.. there's a place in Bridgeview a friend took me to a few years back and it was just too far for me since I wanted it more frequent. So I did some research and discovered SemSem.. and OMG.. words cannot express how delicious this 😋 food is. I could eat here everyday.

Tasty Mediterranean dishes! Arrived upon opening, so we had to wait for a little bit on our dishes, but everything was nice and fresh so that made up for the wait. The Gyro plate was good. My lunch buddies tried the rice plate and bowl. Will definitely go back!

Very good food. Some staff members were still being trained so they weren't moving very quickly but one of the managers took it upon himself to take over for my order to speed things up. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and I'll absolutely be coming back!

My husband, daughter and i come to this place often. Love the food! Have had friendly experiences with the staff. Just recently Tarek (apologies if misspelled) was really nice and attentive. Good food and friendly people is worth the money spent.

This was my first time trying this type of food and it wasn't bad at all. The falafels were cold, but when I warmed it up at home it was pretty good. The employee who took my order was also very nice.

OUTSTANDING.... can't see how anyone could give this place less than 5 stars. Was the best food I've had in a long time and the portions were very generous as well. They also had a very clean and well decorated bathroom which is always a good sign that they are clean where it counts as well. Overall amazing experience; the only negative I have is that they aren't close by and I'm never really in their area😢. Will definitely go out of my way to get that food in my belly again though. If they were closer I'd eat there once a week at least 💯

Semsem is one of the best resturant I have tried in America

I order from here pretty much twice a week, at this point its a staple of my diet. The chicken shawarma bowl outranks anything similar to it like chipotle, the food is flavorful and they pack in it for the price. The pickled turnips (my favorite topping) have dropped in quality recently, but thats the only downside.

Some of the best Mediterranean food that I've had... good service, great food and very reasonably priced. I drive 7 miles to get to this place.

Delicious food and nice staff who helped make recommendations. I got a gyros bowl and it was perfect, definitely two (three?) servings. My favorite topping was the fried eggplant - so good! Noticed they had a unique beverage selection too.

This place is always excellent. I love the variety of toppings! I usually get a falafel pita or bowl. I love the hummus, arabic salad, tabouli salad, etc, with tahini for a topping. You can even put the fried potatoes, cauliflower, eggplant, etc on as a topping, and as far as I can tell, none of the toppings are an extra charge (well except for extra meat/falafel). It's great to have another vegetarian option that is usually pretty quick (sometimes they get busy and have a line but most of the time I only have to wait a few minutes).

So I stumbled upon Sem Sem during a Google search and after reading the reviews I knew that I had to try it. I went last night and not knowing what to order purchased the Gyro Bowl and a Falafel Wrap. When I say that the gyro is the tenderest I’ve ever bitten into believe me. The bowl was filled with food items I chose and I was full within eating 1/4 of it. I took the remaking to work for lunch and still couldn’t finish it. I’m doing that right now., finishing it. I haven’t tasted the Falafel Wrap yet, that’s for lunch tomorrow, but if it’s half as good as the Gyro Bowl I am a customer forever. By the way, everyone there (employees) were very nice and rushed because customers were constantly pouring in. I think they’re going to need a much larger facility very soon. This place rocks and definitely delicious, if I were to add anything - I'd suggest They get a system down that allows at least 1 or 2 people pre prepping any foods that are running low. Cauliflower, falafel. (Make sure you order frys before you order your wrap/bowl/pita frys no matter Mediterranean restaurant you go to. Frys take the longest. Great place. Ill always come back
