The food was good, the waitress was very, very attentive to us. The chicken and rice soup was great also. We will be back, it would be nice if the waitress worked on a Sunday.

This was my first time visiting and it was a late night after church. The service was okay. The tuna melt was not bad but I expected a little more in flavor and etc for almost $15 for a sandwich ONLY. They cut the sandwich or melt but put a whole tomato in the carry out container, they didn’t cut the lettuce up and it could have been more, the pickles were enough, the tuna was nothing special and bland, AND they didn’t supply plastic utensils for my order to cut the tomato or lettuce. I was staying in a hotel on this visit to Illinois, and it was a huge inconvenience. ALSO, it was suppose to be a melt and as you can see, the cheese wasn’t melted 🤔 The experience wasn’t just horrible and I can see myself going back and maybe sitting inside for a late night meal. Maybe the service will be better and I’ll be able to find something else to eat with a more reasonable price and/or include more for the buck.

This place is a throwback to another time, a better time. I commend the gentleman that operates this well run establishment for providing this wonderful 24-hour oasis. The servers are always so hospitable and friendly, no matter the hour. The food is great, served fresh n hot. Gotta leave with a donut 🍩 Everytime.

Ummm, yes, I'd have to say that I was thoroughly blessed with the quality of the food here, the speediness of the service and food and the quality of the service. And this was all with a decent amount of customers at the time. So if you're reading this, just know you want to come here. Enough looking at these words, go eat their food.

It was my first time having these amazing pancakes. I truly believe that with just butter, they stand on their own. Add syrup if you really want a sweet tooth. We will be back for these!

I LOVE Huck Finn, 5Stars to You!! This is My 'Go To' Restaurant!! The meals are prepared with Love!!! It's where I can Always find a good breakfast menu all through the day! many Breakfast Style Restaurants generally close around 2 or 3pm...I don't understand it, but I am truly thankful to have Huck Finn. I visited the 105th Street/Cicero location and I must share that I had a most enjoyable evening breakfast, (persons post their meals prior, I post after, as I want all to see the amazing portion and my true feasting :)) . Shelley, my waitress was delightful, she helped make my visit excellent. Sergio was also very attentive, he was very personable and made each guest feel like family. BELLS and WHISTLES!!! To Shelley, Sergio and the Amazing COOK , you each deserve the JD POWER Customer Satisfaction Award - Cheers! :)

I passed by the spot many times, but never stopped in until today. We were quickly seated and attended to by the server. The food and services good and the prices seem reasonable for the type of food an area. Make sure you try their donuts. I happen to pick one up on the way out and it was well worth it.

The food is delicious and the portions of the food are HUGE well worth every penny. We loved how they have the Mickey Mouse pancakes for the kids available all the time. We order some for our kids and they loved everything about them from the presentation to the taste. The staff was very friendly, polite, knowledgeable and fast it gave you a warm "homely feel" Well worth going and best part they are open 24 hours.

I've been coming here for years with my family. Nice diner. I recommend coming here for any occasion. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, dates, gatherings. They have a few locations. I love coming to this one and the one on 66th and Pulaski. The service is great. The food is delicious! Their cream of chicken is delicious . They only have it on selected days. I've always had a great experience. It is open 24/7. The atmosphere always feels great and welcomed. They have huge donuts! The pastries are delicious too

Quickly seated upon arrival. The busboy provides us with water as soon as we were seated and the server (David) was welcoming, friendly and prompt to take our order. Our food was hot (and yummy!) and David was attentive, providing refills on coffee. The busboy was quick to refill our waters too. The bathroom was clean and the restaurant was clean too. All staff were wearing their masks and there is plexiglass between booths. Guests who are seated at tables, are spread out, providing social distancing. My husband and I were very happy with our visit.

Went to this Huck Finn for an early breakfast. Waitress pretty much anticipated my every request so I didn’t have to ask for anything. Do yourself a favor and order the Becky Thatcher and substitute the pancakes for Cinnamon Roll French Toast.

Food was good, service was great, atmosphere was busy, but not so busy you couldn't hear each other speak. Ordered a to go meal, which wasn't on the menu, which is nice to know you can do. My husband used to get a chopped steak with his parents back in the day from Huck Finn and he loved it. It's not on the menu, but the waitress said I could order one. My husband still LOVED it. ❤️

This is a really nice little place to eat it was full when we got there, but lucky us, it was an empty table waiting for us they had an open bar and had a little room with few slots machines. This is Gray Restaurant, not Huck Finn Restaurant. Sorry for my mistake.

My waitress was really kind and attentive. She made me happy. My over medium eggs were perfectly cooked. Not a big fan of their hash browns, but still good enough.

Typically have a great experience until today when my partners chicken sandwich was pink inside and not cooked all the way through . We told Our waitress and she made a joke out of it telling us if we wanted a box so we could finish cooking it at home. We go to pay and tell the cashier the same situation and she only said she could take $3 off until I told her what the waitress said which then she only took $5 off which still wasn’t much in comparison to the whole situation. Be sure to check your food before you eat it.

This is a good old-fashioned Diner style place to eat breakfast and I like it and I've been eating there for years. I just don't like that it's always cold in the establishment. And they don't have more variety in their soup and the frequency with which they serve it. Other than that I have absolutely no complaint.

Great food! I had the vegetable omelette with hash browns and pancakes. The eggs were real and not cut with milk and water like some other places. Everything was delicious and fresh. The service was also on great. Our waitress, Katherine, was very friendly and attentive. I will definitely come back again!

The food here is good. Regardless of what you get for your meal, I highly recommend getting a grilled apple fritter with butter for dessert. It is off the chart. I have a Swiss and beef melt most often. It is a solid sandwich that is very tasty. I have never really had anything bad here. The only negative thing I could even mention is that the prices are a bit steep. Everyone here is friendly. Once in a while, the manager or the owner can be a little on the grumpy side. I feel the need to call out two individuals for excellence in service: Ashley & Stephanie. They are both very attentive and sincerely friendly. They just make people comfortable and want to come back

I've been coming here since i was a little girl and it has held a warm and special place in the hearts of my family. My parents took our family there when i was little, and i take my children there now. The atmosphere is always welcoming and the food is always delicious. Large portions, too. I always have something to bring home, and eat later. TL;DR: Tasty food, large portions, nice place to sit down. Bekky is also the best employee. She's been there forever and deserves a raise 🙌

Service was great! Nice and friendly staff. Waitress was friendly, patient and took her time explaining menu options to me. I ordered the Turkey Melt. Quality ingredients, I only wish the onions were cooked a little longer and turkey was seasoned. However, I guess that's why they have salt and pepper at the table. Bathrooms were clean and well lit. 9 year old enjoyed his grilled cheese and the other adult enjoyed pancakes and skillet. 9 year old loved the free donut!

Service was great, however the food has fell off. I got the Denver skillet, it was burnt on the bottom and lacking flavor. My date got the biscuit and gravy and for the price the portion size was terrible. I will be finding a new breakfast spot. I’ll try them later on down the line in hopes of improvement

This is a great spot! It was packed today and seems like a place a lot of folks go go get some good eats. Had two of the specials. Pot roast for my buddy and perch for myself. Good amount of food. Enough to take home. Server was kind enough to pack our soups to go since we just couldn't get to them.

I take my mother there after her appointments and we usually have the same waitress except for this last time, But she was pretty good. Friendly atmosphere as well as welcoming. Food is down home cooking and an ample portion. I recommend to anyone in area. A little bit pricey but worth it

Having lived in the area as long as I have, I had only eaten at Huck Finn's once for takeout, and whenever my mother would being their donuts for my kids. That said, my mom and stepfather have been coming here for years for breakfast, and yesterday was a family affair as nine of us sat down to enjoy a Huck Finn's breakfast! Walking in, the place is a bit dated, kind of an old-school diner vibe, but for me, long as the food is good, I can dig it! So I will now focus on what I had, and what my wife had: I enjoyed the Becky Thatcher breakfast (with all crispy bacon), a side of grits, and the cinnamon roll French toast, and my wife enjoyed the Denver omelette. My breakfast was awesome! The French toast was presented as cinnamon rolls, not too sweet, yet sweet enough to indulge in its decadence. Honestly, with that dollop of whipped cream on top, no syrup was needed. The Becky Thatcher breakfast was awesome, eggs were perfect as was my beloved bacon!! My wife's Denver omelette was great; she said they definitely give you your money's worth! My only slight ding was that the grits were very watery. Grits are not supposed to have that liquidy consistency, and I wish they were thicker. As such, I would suggest to ask the customers if they want their grits thick or thin so that everyone gets what they want. One more thing: our server, Sylvia, was GREAT!!! She was friendly, attentive, accommodating, and all around just a nice person. So to the Huck Finn management: give that woman a raise!! She has definitely earned it!!! Anyhow, my wife and I will be back! Peace and love!! Timely service, friendly staff, and picture perfect meals. My son had the silver dollars, and the portion was huge. He was only able to eat three of the 7 they gave. I had the full order of French toast, which were two Texas toast sizes cut into four pieces. I wish I thought to add protein to my meal, but it was delicious nonetheless. The coffee was hot and they had blue and pink sugar substitutes.

Have eaten there 3 times in the last week. Love eating breakfast for dinner and they have very good breakfast food. Value is good. Service has never disappointed either. Friendly and attentive servers. Always get a giant donut on the way out as well. They also offer gaming (gambling) if you're into that.

Super fast and friendly service. By the time we sat down, and then got our food, it had to be under 15 minutes. And this was during a crowded rush. Food was pretty solid all around - but I thought the prices were a bit high. That may be due to the pandemic, as I see food prices are high everywhere so I would not hold that against them. Donuts were pretty solid as well.

Huck Finn’s is my favorite breakfast restaurant. The staff is always nice and friendly. Their doughnuts are delicious and so is their soups! It’s one of the rare restaurants that are open 24/7 around town. That is very convenient when trying to grab something to eat late at night.

Amazing family vibe. Open 24 hours. The pie was soooo good! Staff were super nice and lively. Also they have taken Amazing and extensive covid protocol and precautions. The environment was safe, clean, and beyond friendly. Great food, soooo many options!

I was visiting from out of state and decided to meet my son there for breakfast. The place was clean, everyone was nice. I don't believe my waitress gave her name but she was pleasant and our food was delicious, served quickly and everything was hot.I wanted donuts but talked myself out of them but my family said those are the same donuts from 63rd and Halsted. If they are, I really wish I'd gotten them. Next time I'm back in Chicago, I'm going back.

We had a nice lunch and our waitress, Mary, was exceptional! I haven't been here in years, but our nephew needed that giant donut! The management was friendly, all the staff was happy! Food was delicious and we will be back again and again!

Hadn't been here in years, came into town from Alabama where I now live. I had the open face beef sandwich, my sister had the open face cutlet sandwich, both with mashed potatoes and gravy. It was very good, glad I stopped and got it off my food list! They also do bakery products!
