We ended up getting two take out dinner combos today- Mongolian beef and general tso. Also two appetizers. We loved everything, esp for the amount of food given with todays inflation it was great ! Food was great price was awesome. Best egg rolls I ever Had.

So glad there was a Banner out front of this little gem! I have driven to Jewel a million time and never noticed this Chinese restaurant until today when there was a banner out front on bell rd . I felt like Chinese but was too tired to drive to panda express and seeing as panda isn't really Chinese, I was happy to give it a try . Checked out the menu on line and the prices are very reasonable! I wanted an egg roll and just a little something else to go with it to hold me over. They have this "mini express" on the menu . Perfect. One large egg, 2 crab Rangoon, 2 pot stickers. The perfect size. I order and went inside. I met the nicest woman at the counter. She mentioned that ever since the Starbucks went in, their restaurant has slowed. So many less people seeing them from the 2 lights, both intersections view is blocks and she is right. I never noticed it tucked back off to the side. She advised they deliver up to 6 miles away and put us in the system for deliveries later. The menu was full of options, reasonable prices and the flavor was great! The egg roll was huge ( I'd say put 3 panda egg roll together and that's how thick it was) the crab Rangoon was smaller and square but full of flavor and cooked perfectly. The pot stickers were fried but that was my mistake it said that in the menu and I could have asked for them steamed. They too had good flavor but would have been better steamed. I hope more people check this place out for a new family dinner spot or a date night. The owners were super nice, they have been there 12 years! She said they have a solid "regulars" crowd but few new comers and I can see why, this place is tucked off to the side, next to Jimmy John's and blocked from view by both Starbucks building and the daily queen as well. Absolutely give them a try. You won't regret it!! And If your like most folks lately, I'd rather support a home town local place than a huge franchise any day, family owned somehow always has better service. 1st time there ordered Kung po delight was delicious and vegetable egg roll !! The egg rolls were delicious, would order them again , reminded me of an old memory from evergreen plaza back in the 80’s .

I consider myself to be a Chinese food connoisseur and I have yet to find better food than the Orient Cafe in Homer Glen! The pricing is fair and the food is fantastic. The eat-in restaurant is very clean and comfortable with a very nice atmosphere.

Love this place, nicest family that owns it. Food is fantastic. The egg rolls are the best I have ever had. I try to get here at least 1-2 times a month. I hope they never close their doors!!! Please try at least once and you will be back!!!

I've been to this place for so many years and it's one of the nicest places for Chinese food I'm obsessed with the low mane everything else is great as well family owned and cheap for the price worth it highly recommend

First time trying. Worst orange chicken I’ve ever had. Sauce was soupy and the chicken was flavorless. Don’t waste your money.

We order from here at least once a month. The food is always fresh, hot, and delicious! I highly recommend!

Excellent tasting food. Large portions, so much so we have leftovers for dinner tomorrow. We tried their sizzling rice soup which had great flavor which included shrimp,chicken and pork with an abundance of vegetables. I went with my Mom and had 2 appetizers, shared the large soup (left overs there too) and our own main dishes and the Taro bubble drink. All for under $60. Unheard of these days! The services was quick and friendly. We landed up going here because our go to place was closed for a vacation. So glad we did because we found our new favorite place for Chinese food. I highly recommend you try their food.

Please note Dine in is only on the weekends after 4 pm.. Friday Saturday and Sunday. We gave a neutral star rating due to not being able to dine in so we didnt get to eat as deep fry foods wouldn't make the long trip home in the condition. Hopefully we will try again on a weekend.

First I'll tell you about the good. The restaurant itself is very appealing neat clean. Their staff is very friendly and attentive to your needs. Now, here is the not so good. First, the egg drop soup was very weak way too watery, and not enough egg. Next the crab rangoons. You get eight of them for about $8.00. They are small and doughy. With a little cream cheese and barely any imitation crab meat. Finally my entree was the mongolian beef. It was fair at best I have had so much better at other places. But more importantly was the size portion. It was meager in size. I've had lunch portions at other restaurants that had more meat than this dinner, which was about 15 bucks. Orient cafe is a hard pass for me maybe your results will be better.

The food was good but some of the food was very salty. The atmosphere was good. There weren't a lot of people there at the time I went.

Drove by several times and finally decided to give it a go. The egg rolls were amazing! Even my picky eater enjoyed them! The rest of the food was pretty good too. I would definitely come back.

Gosh! What happened to this restaurant? Used to be our favorite! Ordered food for pick up this past weekend,$120 worth! We have a 10 minute drive home,and I must say the food was not up to their usual standards. Ordered 5 orders of egg rolls which were not crispy at all and loaded with cinnamon? Very disappointed. Rest of the ordered food was just ok. What happened Orient Cafe?? 1

Not the type of authentic Chinese I am used to. Mongolian Beef very tough, crispy noodles instead of typically being underneath were crushed and sprinkled over the top. They were very crunchy like they were crushed raw/ never cooked. I have never seen carrots in a Mongolian beef? Ordered the combo with fried rice which had no taste, very dry, no bean sprouts. Egg roll was decently sized, but everything inside very crunchy. Maybe they have something better, but I didn't care for this dish. At 17 dollars for one meal, wish it was more flavorful. Person working the counter was very nice and meal was cooked very fast, was out the door in 5-6 min from ordering. No fork/napkins on a carry out order and no fortune cookie either.

We ordered the dinner for two. Sweet and sour chicken was just fine. Mongolian beef was very bland. The beef was very tender but had no spice to it at all. We ordered crab rangoon and it had a lot of sugar in it.

Crab Rangoons apear and taste to be a frozen product. Shrimp in the shrimp with lobster sauce tasted old not fresh.

Great food, family atmosphere, hard working family-run business. You don't see many of these out there anymore

My family and I ordered dinner the other night and had a wonderful experience! Everything tasted very fresh and the quality of the ingredients was very high. I'm eating the shrimp egg foo young as leftovers now and OOO the gravy is so delicious even 2 days later.

Tonight was my first time there and I was very impressed . The food was delicious . I grew up near Chinatown in the city and am very picky with my Chinese food . Finally a pretty sit down Chinese restaurant where you can get a pot of hot oolong tea . I will definitively be back . Loved it ! 😁

My friend and I went November 20th, 2021 and he ordered sweet and sour chicken and I ordered shrimp with spaghetti like noodles. I didn't want my soup so I gave it to my friend and before he could eat it the server took the soup away. Then we got our food, what a mess I ordered ONE SHRIMP DINNER, NOT TWO (THE SERVER ORDER ME 2 DINNERS. So $60.00 later my food had shrimp shells left on them and my food was not edible and only eating 6 bite I was feeling sick. My friend didn't even eat his food and it tasted funny. The owner Sue kept on checking on us she knew we wasn't eating our food. Two days later we are still sick to our stomach. I will not be returning. ALSO NOT THE STAFF DO NOT WEAR MASK. WASTE OF MONEY.

Went for dinner on a Friday 5 pm. No wait. Food was delicious and service was excellent. A steady line of carry out business as well. Will return. Try the build your own stir fry !

I love this place. Their egg roles are unbeatable. The food is fresh and delicious. There is no other Chinese place that compares to this one. We moved to Indiana and every time we go to Illinois we stop in to eat and take extra home. 5 stars.
