One of my favorite sushi places that I always go to when I'm in the area. Low-key classy ambiance and vibe, solid selection of rolls, excellent desserts and great service. Also learned about nigori (cloudy sake) here and have come to really like that style. Great lunch deals with a combination of a signature roll and regular roll with a choice of miso soup or salad

Service was terrible. We got there and it took us 20 minutes for us to even be offered a drink. I had to go to the front to ask for them to get a server. 3 boys were huddled by the kitchen just talking. This is burridge. Service has to be better than this. Waited another 25 minutes to be brought the check. This is ridiculous. Food was amazing, but if this is the service you’re offering, I can go buy sushi elsewhere. No one apologized, no one offered a discount, nothing. Does not matter what age you are, or how busy it is, offering an apology is plain courteous. All I got was mean looks from the hostess for asking for the check. LOVED this place, but not worth the terrible service.

I've always had a positive experience here. I frequently go for the sushi, but I have also gone for the hibachi. Although I do have my favorites, I don't believe I've ever had a sushi roll that I didn't like. Try Dragon on Fire while you can! Also fantastic was the hibachi. I visit this place at least a few times per month.

The best sushi in town! My husband and I have been dining here for years. Our server Tami is awesome! We request her every time. She already has our table set and ready to take our orders. She already knows our favorite dishes ( Tuna Dumplings get their own 5 stars) ! Thank you Tami for making our Friday tradition even more special !!!!

We got seated no one came to ask us if we’re ready or not, we had to go call someone to help, someone came not welcoming face just doing his job. We ordered and waited 1 hour we also had to go and call someone…the food finally was not bad but also not the best didn’t taste fresh.. bathroom is has broken doors and not clean at all.

Love Dao for take out and decided to try dine-in recently. The staff were all very kind and accommodating. Sushi is fresh and price matches the quality well. Really good vibe inside too!

Horrible experience with unfriendly staff. My boyfriend and i showed up on Monday night at 810pm. The restaurant closes at 9pm. The 2 hostesses refused to seat us because they said they were closing soon. I look at the empty bar and asked if we could sit at the bar instead of the dinning room. They said no because the bartender was too busy. Actually insane!! Don't bother going because they will probably be closed soon since everyone working there wants to leave early. I feel bad for the owner.

Was in the mood for Thai had the red fish and the basil Thai with brown rice and shrimp. Had mai tais to drink, omg the spicy Mai Tai was amazing!!!! No indoor dining but who cares they have a nice patio and the weather was great. From a service perspective they are not paying the bartender enough he was very knowledgeable about the dishes and gave great recommendations. His spicy Mai Tai - well best ever for me. We also had some nice music coming from the wine bar next door. I would highly recommend!

Friendly servers, great bartenders and delicious food. Definitely coming back to try the rest of the menu.

Food was great so was Joni our waitress. We visited Dao at an old location and were pleasantly surprised to rediscover an old favorite. A true zero complaints experience. Be sure to explore their Bombas a signature dessert not listed on the menu for some reason. We’ll be back again soon.

Decided to take the family out for hibachi tonight. We got asked if we knew our way or if we want someone to walk us there. Rude because that is their job, but We decided it’s fine that we walk alone since we have been there a few times. We got served water pretty quickly and waited about 20 minutes for someone to finally bring our drinks and take our order. Throughout our whole experience the only person I would give stars to would be “jumanji “ the cook. He was wonderful. The waiters were not clearing the tables or coming back to give refills or check up on how everything was. Horrible service. Management needs to look into this because people will stop coming there if that’s the type of service they will be providing. I would have never paid them the service charge of $50-$60 if it wasn’t already added since we had 6+ people. The waiters also took forever to bring us our check ! We had small children which were getting antsy since we spent way too much time waiting. Hope they change because its sad to see that this is the type of people they hire to work there now. To note, the restaurant was not busy at this time at all. The waiters were mostly standing around because they were visible from where we sat.

I think our server was new because there were a lot of things that didn’t go according to plan. It took a while for our server to take our food orders, and none of our food came out at the same time. In addition, my curry initially came out without the rice and I had to ask for it. Neither my father or I ever received our miso soup. I understand our server was probably spread a bit thin, but I saw tables from other servers receive their soups, so I believe it was a matter of training and being understaffed. The curry was quite delicious, however, and our server was nice (in the brief moments we saw him).

Skye was a terrific server with great knowledge of the menu and wonderful suggestions. The sashimi was the tastiest and freshest I’ve ever had it melted in my mouth and the grilled eel knocked it out of the park I have never had sushi so tasty so beautifully presented. I will be returning and bringing all of my friends they must experience this restaurant. I love it💗

Always a positive experience at Dao! Our server Tamy gave us amazing service. She was very attentive to our needs in the restaurant! She brought us everything we asked for with no issues. Also, she was a very sweet and kind server to talk to. The food is always amazing here with that awesome service!

Been going there since they opened. Have been greeted nicer by restaurants that I have never been to before. Definitely not friendly, totally indifferent that we were there. Not expecting a big huge welcome, but a hello would be nice. 3 of us for lunch and was given 1 menu, which was dirty. Server delivered food, and never came back to see if we needed anything or if we wanted anything else. Would have ordered another round of drinks, but he never came back. Will not be going there again and will not recommend this restaurant!! Better sushi restaurants in the area with nicer wait staff.

Great place. My go to for great Sushi. I get the Curry fried rice. Nice atmosphere. Staff is friendly. The is a hibachi in the back but I've never done it. They get 4 stars only because they have messed up my order a couple of times but are REALLY accommodating when they mess up. GREAT PLACE!

The salmon & tuna sashimi is definitely top 5 in Chicago!!! Everything was just amazing 🔥

This is by far my favorite Thai restaurant. Although the last few times iv been back since the pandemic it seems they have cut back on portions, and they no longer carry Thai tea, which is my favorite 😞. This is still my top place to come for sushi though!

Love this place so much, especially their green curry and pad thai, sushi is delicious as well because they have a veriety or cold and hot rolls! I followed this resturant since they relocated to this location from oakbrook, IL. I was so upset that they moved away because it use to be right around the corner from me and I would bring all my friends here for lunch or dinner at least once a week. Now it's a little farther so I don't go as often. Maybe once a year now but it always a treat to eat there. Staff is chill, but food is very worth it. You can't go wrong with just any of their rolls.

Sesame chicken had no sauce and what sauce it did have was dark brown, old. No chicken , doubled breading with no chicken inside in more than half of it. Sweet sauce for crab Rangoon was spoiled. Lost all our business

I suggested this restaurant to have an evening cocktail and small bite with my best friend. I had patronized this restaurant before on a lunch visit and the food and service was superb. Today however turned into an uncomfortable situation. A belligerent guy arrived with a woman in tow an hour into us being at the bar and requested that I move my handbag out the seat he wants to sit in. No problem, but the fact you are a guy approaching me in an aggressive loud drunk way does not sit well with me nor should it the restaurant. After exchanging a few words and him sitting the bartender asked him was he drinking his normal which bluntly spoke privilege in that establishment. Now the bartender is not responsible for what he did but where her failure arise is catering to him and forgetting us so much as we had to ask her for utensils to put our to go’s into the containers. I watched the drunk guy and bartender discuss a woman who was bought a Benz by whatever guy they deem dumb and so on. He was so embarrassing whereas the woman he was with sat next to me at the bar and dared not to make eye contact or speak any words lost in his ego. This intimidating behavior and special treatment should not be allowed!

Lunch was fine. Our server was very helpful and informative. The atmosphere was impacted by the awkward entryway and dim lighting on a gorgeous autumn day.

Delicious food, nice atmosphere just need to speed up service here 😉 Waited long to order when it’s not fully booked. Otherwise great place and stuff is friendly
