A special shoutout to their Fish tacos: amazing - what is that sauce! Prices are decent, service is fast and there are about 5-6 tables for dine-in. They are locally famous for their selection of sauces. The Nutella and Banana Empanada is worth checking out too.

Got some nachos and horchata here. The nacho’s portion size was massive and it was really good. Loved their sauces- especially the spicy-smokey one. Will definitely visit again to try other things.

Chilango is one of my favorite lunch spots in Little Italy, Chicago when I’m on the UIC medical campus 😉 I usually go for their steak bowls or tacos (fish & shrimp), sometimes for the empanadas they get from Lito’s! The portion size is good & pretty much everything I ordered there tasted great 🌮🌯🥗

Ordered the Apastor torta with soup combo and a guava agua fresca. I was very satisfied with my option, very flavorful overall. Great place for quick bite! There’s vegetarian food options. BYOB!!! Street parking only. Customer service is friendly. You can order online for a faster service.

Best al pastor tacos!! Food is always quick and staff are always really kind. A little pricey but worth it. Red and pink sauce are good.

I ordered the shrimp, chicken and pork taco. The chicken and shrimp taco were on the bland side. The pork taco had some flavor on its own with the pineapple in it. They have sauces on the table and you will definitely find yourself reaching for it to add flavor to your food. I ordered the horchata and I was not a fan of the aftertaste of it. I'm a huge fan of horchata normally but this one, not for me. I additionally ordered the spinach and chori-cheese empanada. Nothing too wow over exactly, but I'd easily choose the simple spinach one over the chori-cheese one.

Very efficient place in my opinion. Always a reliable choice. The burritos are delightful as is their empanadas with the pink sauce. Tonight I had nachos and a chicken burrito and both were SO GOOD. We’re huge fans of this place!

Chilangos has become a staple lunch and dinner spot for me. Hits the spot every time! Pro tip: add guacamole to your burritos.

Attention Vegetarians! The veggie tacos are great, lots of veggies with jicama slaw avocado and cilantro. I didn't get a slice(s) of lime in my to-go. 2 tacos is very filling! The two sauces are delicious unique flavors with a good kick. Elote in a bowl is good as well but needs more of the red chili seasoning if you want the flavor. FYI, if you are a strict vegetarian like me, the veggie bowl/burrito with rice and beans are technically NOT vegetarian-friendly because they add chicken stock hence the 4 Stars for not being very transparent otherwise I'd give this awesome fast to-go spot a 5 Stars.

Best fish tacos and burritos! It's a small dine in but it's nice for a quick bite or to get it to go! It can be a bit of a wait sometimes because they are super busy with their to-go orders most of the time. The food is consistently good and fresh! Empanadas fresh, right out of the fryer. Their street corn is also yum (in the cup and on the cob)! They've got fresh juices and horchata as well.

Quaint taco shop near UIC campus. The prices are pretty low for Chicago and the workers were nice. The sauces for the table were a spicy verde, a medium chipotle sauce, and a not-spicy Mayo. A solid 4.5 star place. Burrito - absolutely loaded with filling! Little too much lettuce but tasted very authentic, especially with the verde and chipotle salsas on top. Veggie taco - I was surprised they used onion, bell pepper, mushroom, and corn (usually it’s just mushroom). They were cooked perfectly in a nice oil, though I felt the double corn tortilla wrap was unnecessary. Empanada - great roasted filling on the inside, not very crunchy/crispy on the outside. If fried a bit longer, would’ve been even better.

Love their empanadas! Today I got chicken and beef w/ rice. I’ve tried almost everything except the deserts. If you have the time, please give them a try. Verde salsa supremacy 🙏🏽

Very pleasant experience and prices are reasonable. They have dine in and delivery. Menu is basic and straight to the point. Service is quick. They offer specials of the day. I ordered the special of the day which was a torta and a soup. Portions are a bit small than normal but they fill you up. Will be stopping by soon. Needs cleaning especially with the Covid outbreak. Need to pay for parking

Really good food here no downsides other than the tables being so sticky. I’m not sure why I always clean the tables when I’m there and there still sticky

It was a good steak bowl. Good portion, Sauces were also very good, so was the service, the place looks cool...I don't give 5 stars cause there was no mention of extra fee for steak (as there is for shrimp for example) and I am sure I am not alone as a hater of hidden fees. Still worth it but all charges should be mentioned beforehand.

Spinach empanada was good! Hot, flavorful, good texture, salty cheese inside, lemony flavor as well. Tortillas are a bit tough. Steak was a bit tough. Fish and steak taco flavor was meh. Tables were sticky. I wouldn’t get the tacos again.

  • 3/5 Dulce G. 1 year ago on Google
Had a steak bowl and the ingredients overall were fresh. You get a generous scoop of meat but I'd say it's not really worth it. The steak has the texture of a Subway steak and cheese sandwich so if you're into that you may enjoy the texture of this meat. I think they simply use a different cut of meat than what I am used to. The sauces were excellent, I especially enjoyed the red sauce. Next time I'd probably get a fish taco or an empanada as those seem to be what people rave about.

Street food indeed. Simple, ordinary, undistinguished ,inexpensive, good for killing hunger pangs until your next meal. Decor simple and unremarkable. Parking metered on street.Service good. Only if passing by,make a stop. Not a destination. AWARDED 1 YUM ON A SCALE OF 3

Didn’t have half the empanadas listed on the online menu. When I mentioned the empanadas, she said those are not on the menu online, I’m on the phone, looking at the menu while I order? I said that and she said I wasn’t looking right. Mmm okay. I proceeded to ask, please tell me what you do have than. Great customer service.

Update: We ordered with Caviar and everything was awesome. We got the food fast and easy and they even sent us all of their special sauces. I highly recommend to get their mix of rice and beans as a side. The rice had a great taste of dill and gravy and the beans were flavorful. This place has the best Empanadas that I ever had on Chicago! Crispy but light and with their various choices of sauces that you cannot find anywhere else. Their chorizo cheese empanada is highly recommended. They also have a great quesadillas and Tacos.I had their steak quesadilla and it was very delicious with a generous amount fresh steak meat.
