Was craving dim sum and heard good things about Dolo so was excited to give it a try. I’ve tried various places in China Town in US and even in Asia so I’ve had both good and bad dim sum. I was really happy with Dolo. Luckily they had an opening at the bar so we were happy to take it to avoid the wait. The food came out pretty quickly and they got all the items correctly 👍 We ordered 10 different dishes and our total bill with tax was $51…so most dishes are between $4 - $5. Every item was really good…so now thinking when to come back.

This is not Wu House, this is authentic Asian food without the Americanized flavors. So if you’re used to your local Chinese restaurants, this is completely different. This is what you would find in parts of Asia, but everything was still very good. They have a lot of potstickers and dumplings all very tasty. They had the white flat noodle dishes, soups are very good, the service was great. There were a lot of people in the restaurant very clean, modern decor we would definitely return again. The prices are very reasonable by today’s standards as we all know prices have gone up, but the prices here we’re still reasonable.

A solid spot for dim sum in Chicago especially if you’re looking for some unique dessert menu items. We came with a larger group of 7 and were placed in a large private room in the back, which was super nice. The service was quick and attentive. We ordered staples such as chicken feet, crepes (Japanese tofu, shrimp, pea sprout egg), shrimp dumplings, short ribs, stuffed eggplant, etc. Though everything was good, I found the flavors of these staples to be a little lackluster overall. Dolo more so stood out to me in its sweet / dessert dim sum options (though maybe just because I love durian)— including durian/mango pancakes, fried stuffed taro, durian crepe, etc. Overall, it’s not my favorite dim sum spot in Chicago for getting the dim sum staples, but I appreciated some of the unique dessert menu items. The prices are fair and reasonable, and came out to $20 per person. — Price (relative to peers): 4.5/5 Food: 4/5 Ambience: 4.5/5 Service: 5/5 Overall Value: 4/5

We were here on a saturday morning and were seated right away, but that's kind of where the positives ended. the shrimp dumplings were standard but it took 10 minutes to flag down the server to ask for sauce, the shrimp crepe (my all-time favorite dim sum dish) was so overcooked it disintegrated on the plate, the clam in it's shell was a bizarre texture, the only truly good dish we ordered was the crab and shrimp fried dumpling. needless to say, we were disappointed.

This is a great restaurant in Chicago's Chinatown. We went on a Saturday during the day so it was their dim sum menu. We've also been to dinner when the full menu was available. The food is great. The scallion cakes and corn/shrimp dumplings were my favorite. The staff is amazingly friendly and helpful with some of the unique dishes. I love visiting this place. Chicago's Chinatown is one of the few in the country that continues to grow.

I went for Dim Sum. Have been there twice so far. Good news is , even the dim sum dishes are not tasted great to you, it won't be wrong, neither. 🥧Egg tarts:Crispy ,creamy and just right level of sweetness. Love it. 🌰Puff Durian :Outside is crispy, inside is soft and warm. 🥠Chicken feet : very flavorful. 🍖Short Ribs:Tasted good. A little chewy, but it won’t bother me. 🍞Radish Cake: just like regulars. Pretty filling 😂 They has a small parking lot . Service: was okay. Generally, I am happy with here. Would be back. Recommended.👍

Smaller space with the perks of a parking lot. Come early to miss the dinner crowd. They have standard dim sum offerings plus some items I've never seen. (There's also an extensive entree menu.) My favorites were the shrimp crepes and clam dumplings! They were amazing. Extra perk is that I left feeling less sodium loaded than some other dim sum restaurants. 👌 Attentive, pleasant service. I'll be back.

Quick and easy dim sum in Chinatown. Got there around 6:45 pm and had no wait. Food came out pretty quick. The flat rice noodles were very tasty and the oil seeped into the noodle. The dumplings (chiu chow and steamed pork) were filled but kind of bland. The shrimp rolls had two nice, large shrimp tails stuffed inside with a crispy exterior. Finally, the BBQ pork bun was perfect. The bun was light and fluffy and had just the right amount of sweeteness that complimented the savory filling. Nice interior, nice staff, and super cheap.

Dolo was great! This was my first time here after quite a few friends recommended it and it didn’t disappoint at all! We were there on a Sunday morning, there was a ~20 min wait, which I guess is pretty typical. I’m not gonna go into what all we got, I think everyone has their own dimsum menu pretty set, but everything we got tasted really good. Gonna add this in my regular dimsum go to places. The food came quick, but service wasn’t the best, but oh well. Definitely recommend!

Still my favorite dim sum place in Chicago after all these years. All of the staples are here and made to order, as well as delicious.

Siu Mai is always my yardstick for good dim sum and Dolo knocked it out of the park! The steamed pork crepe had generous pork filling and very soft skin. Egg tart had a flaky and soft pastry with tasty custard. All these items require good skill to make and Dolo did well! The Malaysian noodles however was a let down. Not Malaysian in flavor, only curry powdered stir fry flat noodle which did not have enough char.

Inarguably the best dim sum around. Always consistently quality food and terrific service. Dim sum is ordered on a menu with pictures which makes it incredibly easy to navigate. They have all day dim sum and and all day full kitchen menu (but you might have to ask for it). Have always enjoyed the egg tarts, congee, dumplings (minced pork, shrimp), crepes (shrimp, tofu), pancakes (mango, durian), buns (egg, pineapple), shumai. Usually just go for dim sum, but have tried some of the other items and enjoyed the French tenderloin beef, eggplant, and various stir fried veggies. Small parking lot is nice but it fills up fast unless you’re going right when it opens. There is also convenient paid street parking nearby. They also have a few back rooms which are really great for large groups. Service is always super friendly even during busy peak hours. They’ve accommodated us putting up decorations in the back room and also holding onto a cake in the kitchen until we finished the meal. Would recommend for

It isn't in the busiest part of Chinatown, so it wasn't very busy when we came and I was concerned it would not be as good. However, the food was excellent--particularly the seafood, for which Dolo is apparently known. The restaurant also has its own parking lot, which makes it so much easier to access than the rest of Chinatown! We enjoyed everything we got, especially the full bass and fried rice with dried scallops, and the prices were reasonable.

Absolutely delicious dim sum. Everything ordered was a banger. Highly recommend and certainly will be coming again.

I’m not giving 5 stars because the place could be a little more clean (only dust, but still important) and they could really take advantage of the terrace they have. Besides that, the food is amazing, the staff is very friendly, and it is quite cheap to be honest! They also have discounts depending on the hour you go. I will definitely come back!

Came here on a late Friday evening for dinner and the setting was pretty nice. Parking was very small and packed even though the diner was about 30% full. There were about three servers but they don't actively check on you and it felt as if you have to activately catch their attention to get service. Surprisingly they serve dim sum during dinner time but it felt as if it's left overs from earlier through the day as some of the buns were a bit rough on the bottom and the sweet crepes were not as smooth and felt it was frozen or refrigerated for awhile. The dinner entres were small portioned and lack a bit of taste. For a party of 3 adults and 2 teenagers the bill came out to around $100. Overall this place is a hard recommend unless if you come for lunch or breakfast where the food is freshly made and when they are better staffed.

Good dim sum, service is on the lower end of what I am accustomed to, but the food is great and makes up for it.

As someone who enjoys trying new restaurants, I was thrilled when I was invited to Dolo in Chicago for a business lunch. From the moment I walked in, I knew that this was going to be a memorable experience. The ambiance was perfect for a midday meeting - quiet enough to have a conversation but still vibrant enough to not feel stuffy. One thing that immediately stood out to me was the menu. As someone who has a deep love for spicy food, I was ecstatic to see so many options that incorporated a little heat. My colleague and I decided to order a few items to share, and we were not disappointed. The shrimp corn dumplings were a standout - tender, juicy shrimp nestled in a crispy shell that had just the right amount of kick. The fried sweet potato crepe was another favorite - a perfect balance of sweetness and saltiness. What really impressed me about Dolo, though, was when we returned for another meeting during a slower time, I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was even better than before. This time, we decided to branch out a little and try some different items. The shrimp rolls were a new addition to the menu, and they were fantastic - perfectly cooked shrimp wrapped in a delicate rice paper roll. The scallion pancakes were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and the mango pancake was my favorite dish of the day. It was like biting into a ray of sunshine - sweet, juicy mango wrapped in a light, fluffy pancake with a cream filling. One thing that really stood out to me was how reasonably priced everything was. It's not often that you find a restaurant that offers such high-quality food at such affordable prices. Even the stir-fried fish fillet with chives was a steal, and it was packed with flavor. To top it all off, the green tea was delicious - a perfect complement to the meal. I cannot recommend Dolo enough. Whether you're looking for a casual lunch spot or a place to take clients, it has something for everyone. The food is outstanding, the prices are reasonable, and the atmosphere is inviting. I've recommended it to all of my colleagues, and I look forward to returning soon.

Best Chinese brunch place! You will find some unique dishes here and they all so tasty!! I am surprised as a person who lived in chicago for years! Highly recommended! But there will be a line for the table prepared for that! They have do a small parking lot.

The steam shrimp dumplings (har gao) chicken feet, shrimp and pork dumpling (shu mai) are absolutely delicious! Not much of a wait. Quick service. I do not like the steam shrimp pancakes because they’re a bit soggy and bland.

This is my favorite go to place for dim sum in Chinatown. Their food is very good. My mom wouldn’t go to any dim sum place. We tried most of the popular places around Chinatown, not as good. Also DOLO has 20% off discount on weekdays from 2 to 4pm.
