Had a horrible experience with a bartender at the November 13th Brunch-ski. He was ridiculing us for our drink choices and made unwanted romantic advances towards one of my friends. No woman should have to worry about a bartender touching them inappropriately while trying to have fun with friends. Didn't catch his name but he was boasting about how he used to be an mma fighter.

Was here last night with a couple of friends and honestly had one of the worst nights out in a while. The bartender was good along with the drinks, the problem lies in someone who works there that had a problem with his having my son there. This woman in question was taking pictures of our baby for some odd on reason and hiding away when she took the pictures. In which world is it ok to do that? He was sleeping and is still not even a year old. People with children also want to go out and have a life. To then proceed to mock and harass us as we were leaving is uncalled for. An utterly despicable way for any human to act.

We love Maria's but I don't know what happened this time. The bartender (I don't know if he's new) was an absolute trainwreck. He ignored us when we were ready to order, he was taking his sweet time and the place wasn't even crowded. And on top of that, he lost our credit card. I think he was drunk at the end of the night.

Nice little dive reaching for stars. Prices are not dive bar prices. Plenty of seats. Great out door seating has heaters for cool fall days. Had a few mixed drink nothing to brag about. Plenty of IPA type beers. Parking on street.

Great neighborhood bar. Fantastic beer list. Yummy Polish/Korean victuals, seemingly intentionally surly barmen, tasty cocktails, including banging corpse revivers. So much to like about this community gem. It even has a liquor store attached. Everything you need in one place. They made our group event liveky and fun

Stopped here on a Wednesday night while visiting the city. I’d been here before In the front bar area and had no idea this whole other world was in the back. There is a space in the back of the bar that’s like a magical little garden bar. The drinks were great, prices reasonable, and bartender a gem. Love this little city gem.

The bar is literally down the street from my job and was amazing. Prices are reasonable and the bartenders are super cool. Place is big enough for everyone and the atmosphere is laid back with a chill hipster vibe. Ordered a old fashion drink and this thing was delicious. This is a Bridgeport gem, will definitely be back with friends. Old fashion 8/10.

Went here 1st time after a long time. Expanded the out door seating and the food was great. Still have a large selection of beer and drinks. Not gonna lie felt a little judged while having drinks. Not sure what that was about.

We had a high school reunion there last night. Drinks were great, Mike, the owner, was super-nice and welcoming. Kaitlyn (sp?) and the bar-back were super helpful. There was a female bartender though that was awfully rude and looked super-bothered every time you asked her for anything. I am making note of it because about 10 of our guests independently commented on how rude she was. Her quality in service was such a stark contrast against everyone else there. The kitchen staff at the front counter were super-pleasant as well. I recommend the place.

One of the bar backs was very UNhelpful when we asked where the bartender was (likely on a bio break)...she gave a dry shoulder shrug. No words. No options. But aside from that, it's a nice spot. The music (we went on a Sunday) was amazing! Old School R&B, like what 90s rap groups sampled. BYOF it looks like. Drinks are decent. We'll be back. Hopefully the bar back is nicer.

Maria’s was a warm and friendly space. I don’t drink and yet the bartender made me a delicious drink similar to a Mai Tai (see below). My partner had a brown ale from the extensive tap selection. It was dry and jus the right amount of sweet.

Good bar overall, the bartenders don't really enjoy their job but they do a good job in hiding it. The food is great but sometimes the prices on it are kinda ridiculous, but then again they're local cooks and supporting small businesses is a big plus on my book. The scenery is great, they really make the best for the space they have. You can really enjoy yourself here whether you're 21 or 51

It's always nice coming here. It's a cool place to sit and chill with friends. They have some interesting and delicious cocktails! I had a soju slushee last time I visited :)

This place could easily be a 5 star experience and for most of the night it was. Unfortunately the bartender on Friday night, Sarah, was rude and ruined the experience. I was waiting for Dave to free up as he’s normally who I order from but Sarah was free so I asked her for a Maria’s ginger beer but handed me a Fever Tree ginger beer. Being at Maria’s I pushed back asking if she could please get me a Maria’s ginger beer and she quickly responded saying they were out. I pointed to the fridge where you could clearly see they had cold ginger beer so she begrudgingly rolled her eyes and made her way to grab me a ginger beer. She then threw my check on the bar and took back the fever tree ginger beer and left it at that. I’m not easily rattled but the interaction was rude and unnecessary to the extent that other patrons noticed her attitude too and suggested not tipping her for her service. I’ll be back to Maria’s because I know other folks that work there but if this was my first interaction I would not be returning based on this experience.

Maria is iconic and so is this Chicago establishment. Everything that Ed, her son, has done for Chicago makes us proud⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️go visit this bar and you won’t be disappointed. So unique, always with a warm welcome.

Good beer, but I think they've forgotten what I've asked to be poured a couple times. No hate tho, beer is usually good & local.

Clean, relaxed environment. Huge patio with cool lights. Huge rotating beer selection and signature cocktails. My only criticism is the music can be abrasive in the main room. If it's crowded and the music is loud, the sensory environment gets a bit harsh. There are two great restaurants attached as well!

Great options upfront, cool staff in the back, holding it down, even with a crowd. I wish they would move things around a little to make room for the dance crowd when they host a day party. The friendly crowd makes up for it!

I forget how amazing this place is between visits. Service is good and drinks are even better. The environment can't be beat with indoor and outdoor seating and music at a volume that makes conversation possible.

One of my all time favorite bars. Get the Palmer’s pint and any of their expertly picked beers from local breweries. And get a shot of Malort just for fun. I will keep coming back forever.

This local bar was everything I needed in Chicago. Maria is such a wise, sweetheart! The vending machine is amazing! I highly suggest dropping some coin on some nostalgia. Drinks are stellar and you can have food from next door delivered to keep the party rolling at Maria's! Cheers!!

I've been to Maria's many times over the years. The bar area is hip but casual if that's your thing. Their take out store has a nice craft selection, and the employees are always great which has kept me coming back. Cheers!
