This is a nice restaurant with huge plates of food. It was my first time here, but the people I came with have eaten at this location as well as the previous location in Crestwood for a few decades. They all love the food here and have their own favorites. My rating is 3.5/5. This is mostly based on the food. I ordered: French onion soup ($7) 4+/5 This was good. It's one of the better ones I've had and it came with a ton of cheese melted on top. That was the best part. The broth was flavorful as well. A lot of French onion soup can turn out too salty, and this was not that. This had a good balance of salt and sweet and savory. I will definitely order this again. Be warned: It is very filling because of all the cheese. pasta & asparagus ($14) 3/5 I love veggies with pasta. My favorite has asparagus, tomatoes, onions with penne in a white wine, garlic, lemon sauce topped with parm. I tried to make that happen, by adding sun dried tomatoes to this dish. I usually love agliolio (garlic olive oil sauce, sometimes with red peppers), but this sauce tasted more like oil and black pepper. I was not expecting the black pepper. Red pepper is common, but I've only had black pepper in Cacio e Pepe. In any case, I took some extra Alfredo cream from my boyfriends dish and started dunking my linguini in it, and that was tasty. I probably won't order this again. Of the other dishes I tasted: The Alfredo was the best. $13. 5/5. It's my boyfriends favorite Alfredo of any restaurant. His mom also ordered it, but added chicken. Both are huge dishes and well worth the price. Regarding the wait staff: The lady who greeted and seated us was nice. Our waitress was also nice. The restaurant got slammed and you could see her running all over the place. I hope she was tipped well by other tables, because waitressing is a lot of work. It was nice to see the owner, Joe, walking around and greeting tables. I love when people take pride in their work/the restaurants they own. This place has two bars with seating areas and then large spaces filled with tables. Of note, the restrooms do not have a changing table, just in case you have little ones. Will I be back? Yes. Will I get the same pasta, no. I want to try their tiramisu, get my own dish with Alfredo, and that French onion soup.

We went there for dinner this afternoon (6/24/2022) and had breaded mushrooms which were battered, cold and greasy; French onion soup which was tasteless; veal parmesan which was a veal patty(!); and tenderloin tips which were well done versus medium rare requested, very salty and the vesuvio potatoes were covered in a creamy sauce. We used to LOVE coming here, as we really enjoyed the food. Today was very disappointing and when we told the waitress about the well done tenderloin (didn't even mention the rest), she said "oh okay" and presented us with the full bill. We won't be going back, and that's sad because we really enjoyed the previous experiences.

I just had the breaded steak sandwich. My 1st time eating here. Recommend by a who knows a guy. I'm very impressed. The red sauce for my sandwich was superb, definitely home made. Fu-get-abot-it. Even the curly fries were handmade not frozen. When I walked in the atmosphere was completely unexpected, but elegant and classy. I can't wait to take a dame here. Quite impressive. Don't judge this book by its cover or you'll sleep with da fishes. I also recently tried the chicken broccoli fettuccine alfredo one of the best I've ever had you can tell the sauce is homemade 100% authentic and the bread rolls taste like crumbly pizza crust most original role I've ever had absolutely delicious.

I have to say I was bummed by our experience. First of all the restaurant is definitely not kid friendly we brought our toddler and there is not a kids menu which I found odd. There were also no crayons or coloring pages which can be helpful when dinning with a toddler. Our waitress gave recommendations for our toddler and one of the things she mentioned was chicken fingers. I was thinking a small order for my 2 year old... No it was a whole meal for $11.25. We got the bruschetta and mozzarella sticks for appetizers. The mozzarella sticks were cold but tasty. The bruschetta had flavorful bread but the cut of the tomatoes was huge. Which was a turn off My daughter loved the minestrone soup but again the vegetables inside were huge so I was mostly giving her broth and noodles. From then on it felt like our entrees took forever. We finally get our entrees and my husband got a fried shrimp basket. For $15 there were 5 pieces of shrimp. I got mine and what I what wanted was ailooilo with cut up chicken and the plate they gave me tasted spicy. It was my idea to go and it was what I had been craving. It took awhile for our server to come check on us and when she finally did my husband was already done eating along with my daughter. I told her about not liking the dish for being spicy and she got me a new one plain one but by that time I got it I could not eat it and had to box it up to go. It took her awhile to bring the remake and then it took her awhile to bring the check and boxes. When we got our bill it was $77 and we honestly felt the price did not match the experience. I had to leave early to take my two year old to the car and said bye thank you to the waitress and she never responded. We tipped her 15% but definitely felt like service could have been better. We would have understood if she had apologized for the wait or even if it was busy and it was happening but the restaurant was not packed. We had our daughter's birthday party here and really enjoyed it but this time definitely made us rethink choosing J.Cs for lunch. We would give it another chance in the future but for now we were not happy with the overall experience.

We stopped in for a late dinner and drinks. Pleasantly surprised, they make really good drinks, we orders a dry martini and chocolate martini. They were so good! For dinner we enjoyed the calamari, and a pasta dish. A little pricey but well worth the enjoyment.

Excited about a supper club experience...The wine was great. Probably the worst service we have ever had. We sat there for 35 minutes before our server even attempted to touch our table. ( after we got a glass of wine)...we are from out of town but are in this are annually and have found many great places. We probably won't come back! And no, it was not busy. We were 1 of 3 tables.

1st time here and food was soooo good. Owners came. Pizza was on point and my wife ordered chicken alfredo was so good. Owner came out greeted us and she told us that this was their last year operating. If you been curious about the food like me i suggest you try them totally worth it. The portions are big and affordable.

Sorry to say last time here. Everything was bad from cold pasta y fagioli to uncooked bread to the worst lasagna I’ve ever had in a restaurant. Service was equally inattentive. The pizza at the next table looked fantastic and may be the only thing worth eating here. Every restaurant close to here is much better.

Always a great dining experience at JCs. The owner Joe is always there to greet you and ensure you enjoy your meal. Our go to is the Lasagna and their newest drink the Frango Mint martini. They have karaoke on Fridays and Saturdays which is always fun. If you liked the movie Goodfellas, you'll love this place.

I often stop by for lunch to order a salad with calamari paired with a cabernet. Quick summary - the food is always fresh and delicious (thanks for the warm bread). The staff & service is consistently friendly and attentitive. The dining area is clean with framed memorabilia covering the walls. Fellow patrons have been cordial and welcoming. The music and TV volumes are low enough to have a productive conversation. Bottom line - exit 1st Ave onto Joliet Road west, pull in to JC Pub and enjoy your meal.

Always the best food. The Italian cuisine here is some of the best on the south side. Sausage Parmesan is always amazing.

It's terrible food. Chicken soup was really bland, and i ordered gulash. And i got tons of sos and like 6 small pieces of meat ( the only good thing is that meet was beef, not pork what some restaurants do), and it was really not done right. They put peppers. In this dish, there are so few ingredients a d they managed do screw that. They didn't even finish it with garlic and parsley, but i guess they don't know what that is. With that, i have two sides boild potatoes. i was surprised they offered it. And of course they were not thurly coocked, and mix vegitables which are just frozen vegetables just thow out. I'm really disappointed. i just wonder how they can have this much rating. Maybe because people don't know how exactly those meals really coocked. I'm so glad that i didn't try Tiramisu. probably i would never taste it again after.

Love this place! Old school Italian restaurant vibe. Feel like one of the Goodfellas when crew goes here. Joe and his staff are the best.

The picture doesn't do this dish any justice. Perfection. Great service. Huge servings. Plenty of room to have a cozy dinner with friends and family.

Been here several times with a friend. Huge variety on the menu. Best to stay with the basic entrees rather than the more complex dishes. Their pizza is among the best in the Chicago metro as far as Im concerned. 4.5 overall

I want sure what to expect. This place is more upscale than a traditional family restaurant. The place is huge. Seems like a great place for a large party. It does feel like it's more for an older crowd. I had the patty melt, which I normally don't get. It was actually incredible! The rye bread tasted like they just baked it. I will go back here again for sure.

Great place! Steak, seafood, Italian, sandwiches and their PIZZA all fabulous and large portions. Joe and his staff do a great job serving all! Plenty of seating room, for couples in the bar area up to banquets in one of the dinning areas. Live entertainment on weekends.

We just had my Mom's 90th birthday party here. The room was perfect for the size of our party, the food was good, and Jori and her staff were phenomenal to work with. They helped develop an excellent event for my mother!

One of my favorite local restaurants! Great for lunch, dinner or drinks. A few of my all time favorites here: For lunch the breaded steak sandwich or the Italian sausage sandwich (go with the sausage patty option — it’s chargrilled and fantastic.) For dinner I love the chicken Marsala or Italian sausage parmigiana. But honestly I’ve never had anything here that I didn’t like! The owners Joe and Gia are amazing hosts. Bar is super comfortable with plenty of cold BuckleDown beer and tasty vodka gimlets. A gem!

Surprisingly this wasn't a good experience. I was really looking forward to going here, as we haven't been here in 2 years due to work duties etc. The breaded mushrooms were not flavorful nor breaded, the onion soup was cold and tasteless, the veal parmesan was a veal PATTY and the beef tenderloin was very salty and super well done versus the medium rare requested!! When we mentioned the tenderloins, the waitress replied "oh ok" and proceeded to present us with the check. I used to love coming here and perhaps when I do come back it is best to order a basic cheese pizza which no one can... umm.. f..mess up. Anyway, the waitress' reaction or impassivess is what struck me the most. She didn't even make an effort to correct the error. Yet, we still give her a 15% tip :)

Great restaurant. They have a big menu and I've never had a bad meal here. The owner is an outstanding man. All the staff are friendly and attentive, especially Nick. (Make sure to ask for him :))

We have family down the street and regrettably just haven't taken advantage of this spot over the years. The spirits were excellent and the sausage parm was the best I've ever had. I'm a Big Fan of JC'S!

Visiting my brother he suggested this place. It was honestly very good!! The pork chops were out of this place. The entrees were a nice size. As we were leaving, we saw someone have pizza. That looked so delicious too!
