Ferris wheel was very fun. There were other carnival ride options as well. Great food options too!. Great options for boat tours. We had kids and did a quick 40 min boat tour. Overall, navy pier seems to amaze me everything I go. Been going since I was a kid and was able to share this with my kids for the first time.

Beautiful in the day time and even more beautiful at night. We visited on the weekend and it’s a place for everyone to walk, hangout, eat, relax, ride the Ferris wheel and lots to do. It gets packed and busy but fun for sure. I recommend this place.. one of the must visit in Chicago places. Fire work show was awesome as well it was not a disappointment. Was worth staying there till 10pm.

Our experience was very nice despite the hot weather. The staff was friendly and very informative. The Chicago Architect boat ride was fun. 1 The narrator was very informative and very friendly. I will not recommend taking this ride during 12 to 4 PM if the sun is out brightly. You will be sitting directly in the sun. There is some shade on the boat but you have to get there early.

Navy Pier is a wonderful place to spend the day walking the pier, taking a boat tour, riding bikes, or kicking back & relaxing to listen to a live band. It's also a short walk to view the famous Aqua Towers & Condos building with it's wavy, unusual facade. We had a lot of fun. :) Edited: To include a photograph of The Aqua Towers and it's unusual wavy facade taken on the River Walk portion of Navy Pier.

Went to Chicago for the day to celebrate my birthday! It was a great time. I can't wait to go back there! So much to see and do. We went on the Skyline Lake Tour; this is reasonably priced per person...this was great and relaxing!

A must place to visit…. Free sightseeing place to roam around and explore… Hours are different in google… They are open till 10PM ( We were told by an employee working there) We had city pass to redeem at Centennial wheel. Which saved us sometime… Centennial wheel was amazing… very nice for people to look around the surroundings and beautiful Lake Michigan Navy pier is a huge area.. more than 5 mile if we just walk around… Lot of food options, restrooms available, scenic views, a place to view fireworks for free when scheduled, Gift shops available, different rides for adults and kids are available…. and many more things to do… Ship docker/anchors with lot of party boats are seen…

Gorgeous place! We didn't realize how big it is, and how many shops there are! We came for the "Light up the Lake Event". It was awesome! Indoor so no worries about weather. The pier is free, but would definitely buy tickets in advance for the lights. We rode the ferris wheel and it was so much fun! The view is gorgeous!

The Navy Pier gave us our first glimpse of the downtown Chicago skyline and we were very impressed! The walking path was clean with amazing views and fun (paid) attractions - a Ferris wheel, many rides, speed boats, Margaritas, food.. the Navy Pier has it all. It was a great way to spend an evening while watching the sunset. Will try to catch the famous Shakespeare show that they have here next time we visit Chicago! Parking is available close to the pier and it costs about $18 per hour.

Amazing views absolutely loved it. Has a beautiful atmosphere and view. There is so much great things in Chicago and this was my absolute favorite. I’m a nature and scenic person so this really made me smile. If it helps I hear the parking at this place is heaped then other places in Chicago. Just giving out the tips I received. Take it or leave it ✨☺️💁 Have fun if you head there and the wheel is super cool there too for better views of the whole city.

Lots of neat shops, food and fun! We went here as a passing by trip and we were not disappointed. It was a cold, foggy day but it was a fun adventure! Parking was a little pricey for our taste (being from Indiana) but we kind of expected that it would be. We parked on the pier so that was likely the reason for the cost.

Really cool to see the ships and lighthouse and the boardwalk. The Ferris wheel was lovely and gave us some amazing views of the city and lake. Great places to eat inside and shop. The children's museum is worth a stop if you have kids.

If you are visiting Chicago then you must visit this place. The atmosphere is really beautiful here also there is a restaurant at the end of this pier which is the one of the best places to enjoy the fireworks🎇🎆. On most weekends there are fireworks here and you should not miss it. Please check the schedule and if you are thinking of watching it on a specific holiday then please go early based on the type of holiday so that you will get a good spot to see it. There have been occasions like 4th of July when it will reach its maximum capacity and you might have to then watch it from far away.

Nice place for both adults and kids. Plenty of activities to do. Walking on the lake was fantastic. The view from the top of the wheel was amazing. The food court is huge, lot of foods to choose from. Both river and lake cruise are available if you interested. They got the river taxies as well. Lake water was not clean but the beauty of it will hypnotize for sure.

I love Navy Pier especially on a beautiful day! They decorate it very nice and the inside keeps evolving and changing. There are plenty of food options for all budgets from fast food to sit down. The Children's museum is their secret weapon and one of the best highlights! We did the boat tour that leaves from Navy Pier which is wheelchair accessible. I'll review that separately.

Very nice and chill pier to take a walk or chill around. And there's a very warm court with a lot of options of foods. The restroom is also very clean, the other side is for cars parking and drop-off so I would recommend to walk around. Just go straight and come back straight would be a nicer solution.

Music playing, alcohol drinks, all restaurants was open on the walking strip, boat rides was available. Only thing Navy pier had for kids was a maze and a one minute speed race tagging as many one color as you can (Atomic Rush). Navy Pier also had a plant house with fountains in it. (Navy Pier had the Ferris wheel, the Merry go round, and the Virtual Reality - Virtual Rush: Chicago - Navy Pier was Closed.). We took a boat ride (Shoreline sight seeing) to see downtown Chicago and the history of it. ( If you get the boat tickets online, it will be cheaper than getting it right from the boat at Navy Pier.). Navy Pier parking was $29 all day..The view is amazing. Looking at the water and Downtown Buildings. Outdide Navy pier, across the street from Nsvy Pier you can rent bikes. Across the street from the restaurant (Casa Margarita)(580 E. Illinois) you can also rent bike carriage, but the man that rides you around charges $20 per person, per mile. Whoa. We were a family of 4.. We ate at Casa Margarita after walking through Navy Pier, kids were tired and hungry. There was seating outside and inside and the tables were 6ft from eachother. Prices on the menu were cheap and affordable considering we are in Downtown Chicago.

Great place to enjoy and admire the skyline of Chicago. Navy Pier has many attractions, but the main one is the wheel which lets you observe the city from a high altitude and without any crowds. The stores inside are really good. There are plenty of restaurants of different kinds and different stores. Walking outside makes you feel why Chicago is called the Windy City.

This post is focused on Light up the Lake at Navy Pier. Included in your entrance fee was access to the beautiful light display, a train ride, Covid-19 friendly Santa Claus experience, ice-skating, and the best part a ride on the Centennial Wheel during the Holiday Season. I highly recommend doing the ride at night as the city is breathtaking this time of year. For a family of four, I felt it was a fantastic deal and our children loved it!

This was a great time, we started as strangers and ended up as good friends. The ride even though a tourist thing to do was filled with locals. The tour guide we got was speaking very fast, and most of the facts we missed but the scenery and buildings were great. This was a great time. The skyline is something to see .. Enjoy !!!

Navy Pier is as others have mentioned a tourist trap but they do have some decent shops to try out if you are looking for something to do. If you are looking for Chicago souvenirs then this can be your spot to come as they certainly have a lot of offerings in that area. They sometimes host special events so check out their site in advance. They have some pretty good food places in here including ones that are sprinkled throughout Chicago but them all being under one roof makes it pretty nice to get a little bit of Chicago all in one. Billy Goat Tavern for lunch, Rainbow Cone for dessert, and then maybe some Garrett Popcorn mix to go for example! We ended up walking here as parking comes at a premium but if you are staying anywhere in the Magnificent Mile area it's certainly within walking distance. The wheel gives you one of the best views of the city that you'll get and with the wheel admission we got a free picture with selectable backgrounds when you visit the site so that's a cool thing that comes with the price. The VIP version comes with a glass bottom gondola if you're wanting to go with that and plush seating but we opted for the regular one. It does mention the VIP version being private but the regular experience is private too. The VIP version could be worth it to you though if you have a group as per person the price can come down. You have to buy individual tickets to get on the wheel for the regular experience, but if you get the VIP version you are buying the whole gondola so if you load up 4 people then it's really only $25/person and you get a different experience. The other rides weren't open when we visited but during the peak of the summer I imagine it's hopping!

Excellent place to spend time with family and friends. There is a big parking facility available for rent. The place is excellent to see at night time. We visited during winter therefore many places have been covered with fog. If you want to visit downtown this is the best place for parking your vehicle. The architectural tour starting place is walkable distance from here for about 15 to 20 mins.

Used to work nearby and Navy Pier was the perfect place to run away and hide during my lunch break in the tranquil atrium like indoor garden/water fountains year around. very beautiful atmosphere if you enjoy light-hearted energy and vibes. It's family-oriented/friendly.

Don’t miss this place when you are visiting Chicago, we love this place just beside the Michigan. Wonderful views just by the lack makes our heart joyful. The children’s museum and the giant wheel make the place more fascinating. In Evening you can explore a new look with the lights. Boat tours are also worthy.

Cute to see since there’s a lot of hype around it. Nice walkways to enjoy the water scenery. Most of the rides weren’t on except for the big wheel. Food court didn’t seem to have any amazing options worth waiting in the long lineup for. It’s a “nice to see” if you got time.

We went to see the Ferris wheel as my 4 year old loves them. There were multiple shops and the Chicago Children’s Museum as well as several chain restaurants. They had both inside and outside seating areas and had guest service and first aid staff at various locations throughout the facility. All the shops and restaurants took cash, credit cards, and Apple Pay. The rides were a per ticket price or you could get a wristband. The wait times were not too bad but the fast -pass is available for an additional fee.

Navy Pier offers fun attractions for both kids and adults, making it a family-friendly destination. The area is clean, walkable, and home to numerous restaurants. While it can get crowded, booking tickets online in advance helps save time and ensures a smoother experience. The ferris wheel ride is a must-do experience, especially during sunset when the scenery becomes even more captivating.

This is a must when in Chicago. Beautiful view and a lot ot activities for kids and adults. Several restaurants to try. A indoor market with souvenirs and more restaurants. There is an small amusement park on top where the Ferris Wheel is located, you have to try it, it gives you 3 rounds and the view from above is fantastic! 100% recommended!

This was our first time this far North West and I must say it did not disappoint! The weather was just right, the city was not overly congested, the views were amazing. I will say I was expecting it to be busy and hard to navigate. I would definitely pick a Sunday vs a Saturday to attend as the parking garage was a nightmare to get in and out of. Kid friendly with elevators to get to the top and bottom floors. Highly recommend!!!!

The navy pier is a bustling pot of activity and fun overlooking the lake Michigan. Beautiful views, ferry wheels, Christmas lights and such an invigorating atmosphere. There are a lot of good places, including McDonalds, Starbucks for tourists to stop and take a break. The bird's eye view of the navy pier is an amazing scene.

A little bit of it all. At the minimum, walking around and really getting ones steps in on Vacation. The food options are as vast as the pier, just keep walking until something will pique your interest. I don't know if I'm lucky or it's always this type of weather. You can rent bikes, just a little ways off.

You could easily spend a whole day at Navy Pier!!! There are so many fun and interesting things to do. You can take a ride in the famous Ferris Wheel, walk through the Chicago Children's Museum, or just walk around. The botanical Garden is absolutely stunning. Billy Goat Tavern is a must try burger place on the Pier. One of my favorite things to do is take a boat tour. If you are up for some fun and thrill I suggest the Speed Boat Tour. If you want to see more of Chicago the Architecture Tour is amazing!!

Originally opened to the public as the “Municipal Pier” in 1916, the 3,300-foot-long Navy Pier sits on the edge of Lake Michigan on Chicago’s North Side. In its lifetime, it’s been home to a jail and a training center for the U.S. Navy; today it boasts multiple theaters, a park and indoor botanical garden, more than a dozen restaurants, a beer garden, several amusement rides and the Centennial Wheel, a 200-foot-tall Ferris Wheel that gives riders 360-degree views of the city and lake below. Navy Pier Tip: Despite the fact that many Chicagoans wouldn’t be caught setting foot on the pier, it’s the city’s top tourist attraction and in summer, it’s swarmed with visitors. The winter months (November to March) see far fewer tourists due to Chicago’s famously frigid temps. Other less crowded times are midweek, early in the morning or closer to sunset. To avoid the hordes, skip a visit on July 4th, or over Memorial Day or Labor Day weekends.

NAVY PIER IS TEMPORARILY CLOSEDNavy Pier will temporarily close to the public starting on September 8, 2020 and will reopen spring of 2021. Navy Pier is where you go in Chicago for events, free public programs, attractions, culture, dining, shopping and more. It's where fun lives large, whether you're a visitor or local, with family or friends.

This is a fun place to kill some time. There are shops inside the main building, a small green garden in top, and an amusement park with a ferris wheel. There are also different boat trips one can take too, and they are all pretty fun, though a little pricey. My personal favourite is the architecture river tour, and I highly suggest to do it at night. The sight is simply breathtaking, and much more beautiful than the day. It is well-worth the price of admission.

Navy Pier is where you go in Chicago for events, free public programs, attractions, culture, dining, shopping and more. As a nonprofit organization, the People's Pier offers a diverse and eclectic range of activities and experiences that ignite the imagination, stimulate the senses and allow your spirit to soar. This is a beautiful pier to walk out to the lake, however on Sunday, last week, we were there they were having some kind of ladies party in the building on the end and they were broadcasting outside and I have never heard the F word so many times, in public, in my life. The language they were using was absolutely the worst I have ever heard. We had to quickly leave the area. I am so sorry other people there with small children had to hear such vulgarity. It was truly an awful experience.

Visiting Navy Pier in Chicago is a captivating experience that never fails to take my breath away. Regardless of how many times I've been, the allure of Navy Pier remains undiminished. The transition from the bustling streets of Chicago to the enchanting atmosphere of the pier is nothing short of magical. Upon stepping onto Navy Pier, a world of its own unfolds before you. The Pier boasts an impressive array of dining options, catering to various price ranges and culinary preferences. Whether you're in the mood for a quick bite or a more indulgent meal, there's something for everyone. One of Navy Pier's standout features is the abundance of small business vendors scattered throughout the campus. This creates a unique and vibrant marketplace atmosphere, allowing visitors to explore a diverse range of products and offerings. The inside building, in particular, is a treasure trove of these small businesses, offering a chance to discover a plethora of intriguing finds. Delving deeper into the pier, my husband and I were enamored by the captivating art exhibits adorning the complex. The infusion of art into the space elevates the overall experience, adding a layer of cultural enrichment to the visit. It's an unexpected delight that sets Navy Pier apart. In essence, Navy Pier encapsulates the essence of Chicago's charm and diversity. Its ability to transport you from the urban hustle to a realm of relaxation and wonder is a testament to its timeless appeal. From its culinary offerings and small business vendors to the captivating art exhibits, every facet of Navy Pier contributes to an unforgettable journey.

We went there to see the scenery. We ended up on one of the Speed Boats which was a lot of fun. I enjoyed walking around, they even had a Lobster Fest. I wanted to get on the Ferris Wheel, but the line was at least an hour wait if not more, so maybe next trip. I most definitely will go back. I suggest you give it a Try if in Chicago.

Using our Go City passes, we rode the Ferris wheel (the air conditioning was epic in the unseasonable heat), and each got 3 tickets for other rides on site. We chose the launching ride twice, and the swings once. There is also a carousel, and tea cups. Tons of boats were docked at the pier loading for tours and shuttling, so we used our passes again, and took an informative architectural tour at sunset. It was lovely! Everything was clean, and the workers were kind and fun. It was a great experience for both the kids and adults.

If you are a tourist you want to come here and check out the coolest place in the city!!! I mean what else could you possibly want from a place to visit? It's all here fun , food, alcohol, and water all around!!! Unless you can't swim then you better just stay on land ... If you want to go for a swim go to the beach and get your swim on... If you are looking for a place to go that other tourists go... This is the place!! If you are not a tourist you can come here too but you'll be surrounded by tourists... If you like tourists then you can't find a better place.... I'm not really interested in the tourists so I try my best to avoid a place like this... I'm not saying there is anything wrong with tourists but I think they smell like tourists... I'm allergic to all tourists that is the real reason... But that's just me I found out when I was a small child that I'm highly allergic to all tourists... All of them. But if you aren't allergic to tourists then you could totally come here and enjoy your time and enjoy yourself!! If you want to come here and check out the city and see what it's all about it's definitely a fun place to go!! It's a fun time and you and your family and friends can join in the fun!!! I hope you are reading this and you are doing well and feeling good!!! If you are so inclined to like this review please do so if not that's cool too!!!

I went and visited the Navy Pier. The air was very windy and cold coming of the water. The history behind the pier is very interesting and they have historical markings everywhere to read. They have an indoor “mall” area with shops and eatery’s. At sunset the views looking back at the city skylines are pretty spectacular.

Fun spot but touristy. You get a good view of the city, especially on the Ferris wheel but it's pricey. There is often live music and always something to do. A good way to spend an afternoon with the family, I think you should go at least once but it's not really how you get to know the city. Definitely gets crowded at peak hours.

Magnificent place to walk about and see the Chicago skyline. It's super cold about Thanksgiving day in November 2023 though. Must walk all the way inside. If the weather is warm, you can even have a picnic at the many benches and seats. Can see sunset with the Chicago skyline. The direction should be able to see sunrise.

Must visit! You should definitely visit Navy Pier if you are in Chicago. Super cool place with a lot of options for activities, dining and other events. I recommend visiting this place in the evening to catch the breathtaking view of sunset behind the skyline of Chicago.

Loved this place. We reached there just before the sunset and the weather was very nice. We spent there some times beside the Mississippi river, maintaining social distancing with other people; though there were not that many people. It was very soothing.

This was my first time going to the Navy Pier I've been to Chicago several times to visit my son who lives there. I'm from St. Charles, MO and I enjoy going to Chicago especially the downtown area seeing all the beautiful buildings and and enjoying the food. It was great hearing the music it will make you move, it sounds so good and I was happy. So thank you Chicago.

It's so beautiful at night, just wish the ferris wheel would've been in operation so we could go on it. Still, had no idea there would be boat tours you could take or all the places to eat and drink.

I hadn't been here in the summer for years. My family and I had a great time. The weather was pleasant and we really enjoyed the boat ride. It was informative and who wouldn't like seeing the beautiful skyline from Lake Michigan? I hate the Pier is closing early this year because I would definitely go back. The only downside is the parking is $29! And I feel that is too high.

Such a wonderful place with so many options. There is something here for all ages from 2 to 102. I am a proud Chicagoan who enjoys our beautiful sites. I have equally fun times with whomever I come with - my buddies for a beer, going on a cruise with my wife or just a fun day with the little ones. Highly recommend.

Excellent place to visit especially with your family or kids! Astonishing sites! Water waves and a ferry! What else you want on a typical summer afternoon! The joy and pleasure that this ecstatic place offers you, you will never be able to scratch it off the slate of your mind.

Labor day on the pier was sunny and bright. We had some good food and enjoyed the nitrogen frozen cereal. Lots of boats full of people enjoying the lake. The river tour was really good. We look forward to the reopening of Navy Pier.

Enjoyed our visit to the Navy Pier. It has definitely progressed over the years. Beware of construction on the farthest out point of the pier (a multi-story hotel). We found and enjoyed several shops, restaurants and other businesses within the pier.

A great monument of Chicago City where you can spend whole day. It was a pleasure trip with family. A lot of construction was ongoing around when we visited this place. Navy pier has a long coast to walk alongwith. It was a rainy day and we faced bit difficulty to reach back to our car parking. Car parking is one of the difficult task to find despite paying heavy charge.

Love Navy Pier! It's my one go to place we always have to visit when we come to Chicago. I love just walking out to the end and looking at the view of the city. It never disappoints. The shops and restaurants are touristy, but that's what you would expect. On a summer day this is the best spot in Chicago in my opinion.

  • 5/5 Sara M. 2 years ago on Google
Oh Navy Pier, you never disappoint. This is a beautiful spot to enjoy downtown Chicago. Touristy? Yes, but it is a quintessential stop while in the Windy City. The Pier is safe and well maintained, lots of workers ensuring that the space is properly upkept, assistance for anyone needing directions, neat little shops and fun zones for the whole family or perfect for a date night. The Ferris Wheel is a must as it gives such an amazing view!

  • 5/5 Donna H. 2 years ago on Google
Very busy but fun experience! I hadn't been here in over 15 years, and they've done an excellent job with the place! The ferris wheel was a cool way to see the city and water. This was a first time to Navy pier, and, frankly, the expectations were quite low. I grew up on the ocean and didn't know how a lake could even come close, but I have to admit I was pretty blown away. We had a great time and the attractions were good, but definitely still seemed like it was probably slower than pre pandemic time. If still call it a must see if you are visiting Chicago!

A fun place to spend a few hours, something fun for every age. Family friendly, but they also have some fun for the adults. This also doubles as an event space, so just be aware and check ahead if an event will interfere with your plans. So much to do and see; especially getting some ironic views from the pier!

  • 5/5 Mr. R. 2 years ago on Google
The navy pier is a place that all cities should strive for. From the sheer space, attractions, walking, stores, eateries, event areas, and iconic views. The best part is that you can enter without any payment. This makes for a great destination for a date or with the family.

Excellent place to go and have fun with friend or with family. We went one winter night and the sights are beautiful, the city looks so pretty. If you ara planning to go in winter, make sure you are well covered, as the wind can get pretty cold There is a small place in the middle of the pier, where you can find food, bars, cafe and souvenirs There is also the Toy museum, worth to see, although you can buy tickets from advance if you don’t want to make a line

Food is good. I didn’t care for the ginger dressing on the salad. It was really sweet. It’s the first time I have ever had a sweet dressing at a Japanese Hibachi restaurant. The chef did all the normal tricks you expect to see and did them very well. As usual at these restaurants we met and chatted with the other diners sharing our table. All in all I would come here again. We were here at lunch time and the prices were less than I expected yet still gave us a big meal.

Wonderful views of Chicago. I recommend going in the morning or afternoon when it is less crowded. This is a peak place to cut out of work for. You can just sit around and think about the world and how beautiful life is. This is one of the great gems of the city of Chicago. It is a tourist trap but one you don't mind getting trapped in. Look at all the sick pics of my friends.

The New year Fireworks here are awesome!

The Navy Pier is a great family fun place; it has a plenty of things to do for all age groups. You can spend the whole day there with all the activities that are available, restaurants are a little crowded so anticipate a wait specially if it's a weekend. There is parking right on the Pier which is very convenient, don't need to walk very far to get to your destination. The ferris wheel is a must the view is stunning and picturesque. The Navy Pier is a must destination if your visiting.

Beautiful location and amazing restaurants. Went here with my kid. The fountain outside Navy Pier is a must during summer. Kids enjoy a lot there. Great way to spend the day with the family. We took the water taxi from Union Station to Navy Pier. It’s about 20 mins rides.

  • 5/5 Asis C. 9 months ago on Google
Navy pier of Chicago is an excellent lake front place particularly for visitors and tourists. There are a number of shops and eateries, where one can purchase a variety of items. A water taxi service is available for a 40 minute ride in the vast lake. In the evening the area reverberates with sounds of music and drums. The courageous sea gulls and large Canadian Geese often come to the shore and some tourists feed them. There are a number of art works like a statue of a Naval Captain and a beautiful sculpture of a bunch of children dancing hand in hand.

The amount of restaurants this place has is incredible. Back when covid started none of this was open. There was barely anyone outside. This year everything is booming and I love seeing all the different people and food businesses opening up. And the water is soo blue it's beautiful.

My family and I took a road trip from Texas to Chicago. We had to include a trip to Navy Pier. I haven't been there in about 15 years. So much had changed. Had a wide variety of restaurants and shops and the view across the lake was spectacular. Parking was high, but it is everywhere in Chicago. My five year old had a great time, and that's all that matters.

  • 5/5 Tonya J. 9 months ago on Google
Busy, busy spot with great views of the city and water. There are tons of shops, restaurants and things to do in on the boardwalk to keep you entertained. Magnificent views of the city. Boats in the water everywhere. Many photo opportunities exist. There are a few amusement parks rides at the Navy Pier. You can also book a boat ride here. Parked in the parking garage while visiting.

  • 4/5 John M. 7 months ago on Google
I wouldn’t say it’s a “must see”, but if you have time during your visit to Chicago, I’d say it’s worth it to explore Navy Pier. The end of the pier has gorgeous views of the city and Lake Michigan. It’s a nice place for a stroll, a boat tour, or food, or drinks. It’s certainly a tourist attraction. Very family friendly!

Amazing pier with Ferris wheel and so many restaurants, there is also a hotel. Nice and clean area as well, good walking path too. You can see boats coming and going and city skyline ! Nice for lunch or just to come and sit

  • 5/5 Inferno S. 7 months ago on Google
Lots of restaurants, some places to grab a quick drink 🍻 🍷. Beautiful views along the pier, especially looking down south towards the city skyline. Can hop into a boat/boat taxi although perhaps you may have to wait for other people to want to get on. It's expensive though. Parking was $30 for 0-2 hrs I think. But that's anywhere in Chicago it seems. Overall it's a nice experience for the tourists, although sometimes overpriced items.

Great time at Navy Pier. It remains a top tourist attraction for visitors but is also a great place for residents like myself. There are always multiple events going on so a day at Navy Pier is never the same. Food options are amazing. I took my mother and met a friend that works there and we had an absolute ball (especially my mother). Pics are of an exhibit going on.

Beautiful Pier. There is plenty of place for all age groups. Couples, solo, family, kids. Romantic gateway. Enjoy sandy shallow beach to soak in and swim. Navy Pier is iconic to Chicago and a must see but what you choose to do is really what makes the experience. Navy is really built for all types of visitors and has rotating exhibits and experiences and then the classic wheel, games, and Children’s Museum and Shakespeare Theatre. There are multiple options for boat tours and cruises, walks, kayaks, and yachts, etc from near the pier so best advice is to do your research. Just showing up is nice if you want to walk and spend more money than you intended to 😏 Fireworks skyline cruise is fun, it’s a unique close up experience to a small, intimate fireworks show off the pier. In my opinion the Navy Pier experience is for the masses and tourists, peak times there are lots of people and it’s a bit unnerving. The food selection on the pier is catered to well the masses. Thus for me it’s a 4/5.

I personally enjoy this place - not so crowded during thanksgiving. Many good spots for seating, photography, reading. Wind can be strong and cold.

Even in mid January the Christmas decor was still up, I only wish we were there during the holiday season. We tried to walk to it from Millennium park, however that lake effect icy rain made that a tough trek so we drove instead. Otherwise on a nicer day it is probably a beautiful walk along lake Michigan. It was late in the evening so lights were on and looked real cool. Throughout the corridors were a series of artwork on loan from various locations and artists, and we got to see it all for only the price of parking, not too shabby. This is a good site to visit if you are in Chicago, I had heard it is a must and hope to go back again in fairer weather. Sadly we did not go on the ferris wheel for the same reason we never got to the top of the Willis Tower, I refused to spend a hefty price to see a foggy rainy view.
