The park is great. Lovely place to spend some time relaxing in the Emerald Garden. The playground is hopping, there are a couple of ball fields and plenty of green space. The Oz statutes? Find 'em. Hopefully they add more, but the 5 most important characters are here.

This is such a fun place to bring the kids. It will also bring out the kid in adults that grew up with the Oz saga. Each statue is supposed to be interactive by scanning the QR code with your phone camera but I was never able to make it work. From the pretty garden, to the walking path around the park, to the playground for the kiddos, this is a tranquil and beautiful site to come for a picnic on a lovely autumn day.

Oz park is one of my favorite spots in Lincoln park. On a sunny day you can except the park to be filled with people shooting hoops or playing baseball on one of the diamonds. There is a garden to sit in and a large playground. Walk the park and find statues of the main characters from the wizard of oz.

It's a clean and family-friendly park. It has a nice path for exercise or casual walk. Benches are scattered throughout the park if people need to sit down and chill out. Definitely recommend this park for people who live in Lincoln Park area or who are visiting Lincoln Park neighborhood.

This is a feature-packed little park for kids. The location is excellent for a weekend trip in from other parts of the city: a lot of food and drink options just up or down the block. Starbucks, Thai food, burger options, etc. The park had standard swings, as well as toddler swings (and a tire swing too!). A sprawling kids castle/climb element is the central piece of the park. Also right next to a beautiful public garden and baseball field. So why four stars instead of five? There’s always some graffiti in this park. We’ve had a purse stolen at this location. Some of the rocking features need to be replaced.

Great park! Seems to be a pretty popular dog park with lots of other community uses. I visited twice over a few days stay in Lincoln Park, mostly to stroll and use the open space to workout. Warning: there are quite a few dogs off leash and a little (not a lot) of dog poo in the grass 🫤 Neat old wooden playground for the kiddos too.

This is a really neat community park. I went specifically as a 'photo op' to see the Oz characters' statues. But there is a huge playground if you have kids or a beautiful garden if you just want to sit and relax and enjoy a little nature in the city. If you are looking for the statues specifically, Dorothy is just west of the playground along W Webster Ave. Tin Man is at the corner of Webster and Larrabee. Scarecrow is near Tin Man, just inside the east gate of the garden. Lion is hardest to find since he's not as close to the others, but he is at the southeast corner of the park, at the corner of Larrabee and Dickens. The only downside is finding street parking. It seems like it can be hit or miss.

Amazing playground for kids! It’s all wooden and very extensive. Lots of variety items to play with. It’s under huge trees and the shade is amazing under summer sun.

Kids weren't the most friendly but the park was Interesting to visit, loved seeing the statues from the Wizard of Oz.

Probably the best park my kids have ever gone to. It's great because it has areas for little kids and other parts for older kids. Lots of shade and it's clean with plenty of seating. My only suggestion would be to have restrooms. There is a single porta-potty for the whole place. Not really good enough. Other than that, it is absolutely incredible. Such a good spot!

This park is cute. Good for picnics, playing catch with you dog, letting children play on the swings, bench conversations but I do wish there was more sidewalk so I could walk more and farther.

  • 4/5 David C. 2 years ago on Google
Great spot for a free workout. Try the challenging steps and stay for the views or take a trek around the park area. I'm lucky I live close by and get to enjoy it ever my day

Absolutely lovely park! So many activities to do. Plenty of dogs and kids (I feel I should mention this just in case you don't like dogs or you're looking for a quiet park). Such a friendly no nonsense park. Play tennis, run or walk the trail, visit the garden, bring your kids to the play ground, play basketball, or just sit and people and dog watch. Always full of tons of people, but I have never had a bad experience. Cool statues of The Wizard of Oz characters too!

Fantastic neighborhood park with amenities for everyone. Space for hammocks, picnics, ball games, tennis, basketball, you name it! In the winter it's great for some sledding or building snowmen. The statues add some flair, glad we have this park nearby

I've been to oz Park multiple times and it is very beautiful. I rated it a 3 star because there is a part of it that needs groundskeeping and is just a blank patch of grass. I love the flower garden though very beautiful. The park could use renovations and I have some ideas so if anyone wants to contact me I have some ideas for renovations😁😁😁

First time coming here, it was so much fun! My 3 year old couldn't get enough. It had mazes and what looked like castles in his opinion.

  • 5/5 Kylie Y. 1 month ago on Google • 22 reviews New
My family loves to come here and run around in the open space and play on the wooden castle-like playground. It's great for the big kids and babies/toddlers, too. Even on a busy day theres plenty of spots for the sdults to sit while the kids play! Kids love to see the statues.

Love this park and love the sense of peace and safety in this location. Love seeing all the furbabies! Bad thing about playground it seems like the playground is about to fall apart! Not safe for the little ones in my opinion. Another downside, was not a fan of most people around the area they act like they’re superior, not friendly towards other race that’s not white, and tend to give some stares 😏 Seen this happen every time I’ve been here. Tip: add the yellow brick road to make it live up to its name 😉

  • 4/5 Emma M. 9 months ago on Google
I'm looking forward to the new play structure for the kids. I get a little frustrated by the number of dogs off leash but know that there isn't another great option in the area. It is a great location and a huge park. Only two port a potty spots some so scope out bathrooms ahead of time too.

Nice park, paths in good shape. It was busy on a Saturday but didn't feel crowded. Fun checking out the Oz features.

  • 3/5 Maratha 3. 11 months ago on Google
Oz Park is beautiful and very scenic; the birds, landscape, and short little trails give it a distinctive feel. My problem is the bikes, scooters, and people on these contraptions doing fast turns, not alerting old 👵 people that they are behind them riding bikes fast. The Park is packed on nice days and it's a problem. How about if you take that bike and motorized scooter and go to a real trail and ride? 🚲🚴🛴🛵

  • 5/5 C V. 10 months ago on Google
They have an amazing kids playground. A wooden castle, a little picnic area and a lot of space to play ball/run around

  • 4/5 Kourtni M. 10 months ago on Google
The park is nice. Was there for the playground which was packed with kids and parents. The playground has lots of interesting structures. My only real criticism is that the construction of the structures really limits the ability of parents to see and/or aid their children if needed.

Fun little park. Walking path. Flower garden. Playground. Tennis courts. Pet friendly. Drinking fountains and garbage cans.

  • 5/5 Tara Tussing U. 1 year ago on Google
Very pleasant park. It's has four tennis courts and I think a pickle ball court. Lots of shaded lawn to relax by yourself or with a group. And a cool statue of Dorothy with her ruby red slippers and Todo.

  • 4/5 S S. 1 year ago on Google
We went to Dorothy playground at this park. It's a lot of fun, but it says it was designed for kids 5 to 12, and my 10 year old was a bit bored with it. I also found it to have pretty tight spaces for bigger kids. However, the big plus for this playground is that there is a fence all the way around the three different structures, so you never have to worry about your kid getting too far away. This is an added bonus since there were some off-leash dogs in Oz park itself.

Being related to Yip Harburg (lyricist of wizard of oz), I had an obligation to visit this park for myself while in Chicago. I was pleasantly surprised at the vastness of its size and the amount of families and people utilizing it (though covid-19 might be the reason why). The statues of the main characters in the book/film are well done and serve their purpose. Overall its a great place to hangout watch people play some b-ball and relax. If I lived near I certainly would come often.

This is one of my favorite parks! Plenty of open space in the middle of the city. There's basketball courts, baseball fields, tennis courts, a playground, a zen garden, hills to ride a sled down, and an open area for spikeball or just relaxing outdoors!

  • 5/5 Brian K. 1 year ago on Google
Cute park! It has softball fields, a wooden playground, a walking path and many trees. A great play to set up a hammock and catch a read!

  • 5/5 Michael S. 1 year ago on Google
This is a lovely place to walk your dog or stroll around. The statues are fun to look at and there is a Dairy Queen across the street to grab an ice cream cone and a picnic in the park!

  • 5/5 Eithne M. 1 year ago on Google
Great little park in the city. There's a playground (with separate sections for big and little kids), baseball diamonds, a half court for shooting hoops, an enclosed no-animals area, tennis courts, and, of course, the iconic wizard of Oz statues! There are also several restaurants and a mini Target nearby if you're hungry or need anything. Also, if you're driving and can't find street parking, there are two (not free) parking garages very nearby.

More like Oz Bar...this place lit up during the 2020 pandemic. With all the bars closed, Lakeview’s yuppies flocked here with twist off wine bottles and Trulys to hang out in a safe outdoor space. Oz Bar is a medley of all age groups: from seniors walking dogs to kids playing hide and seek with everyone respectful. Oz Bar was the best part of the pandemic and taught us we don’t need dark, expensive, exclusive bars with salty staff to have a good time. Opt outside for sunshine, space, and community. 4 out of 5 stars because many of the mutts are not on a leash.

Oz Park is an amazing park within the city of Chicago. If I lived in IL, I can imagine it being a great spot to think, meditate and getaway with getting away. I was told it is bigger than Central Park in IL . The Conservatory of Flowers, the many man made lakes, multiple museums, and endless paths make this one of the great urban parks in the world!

  • 4/5 Michael A. 3 years ago on Google
Such a beautiful place, OMG! On the day I went, the beautiful beach had HUGE waves. Surfers were wading in the water, but I never saw any of them get up. In addition to the beach there are tons of hillsides to climb to relax and/or get different views of the Ocean. PERFECT spot to watch the sunset - weather down at the beach or up on the hillside. You definitely need to visit this place - you will feel like you've left IL behind, when you're only 15 min away.
