Wow, I was here last winter and lots of improvements to the FP since then. A new boat launch with dock and a ramp for ADA but there is not an AZA easy launch. New pavilion and a short viewing area over the lake. Some trails got paved to asphalt, added some info sign kiosks and a huge pavilion with table underneath. Nice Pit toilets. Good Job!

I'd say this is a nice walking trail for sure. There were alot of spots though while walking that were super wet and messy however. Maybe we'll come back next year after the wet cold season is over and see how the trails are then. Overall, if your looking to get your steps in, this is a good place to go!

I really enjoyed myself here. I went biking here, but some of the trails were underwater. The paved trails were very nice. I ended up going down the street to Lake Waubonsie Park and rode around there too. Between the two I did 10 miles. This will definitely be one of my go to places!

Nice place for a day on the lake in a kayak or a canoe. Easy access from the boat ramp or dock.

Lovely place to go for a nature walk to let your mind wander and breathe in that crisp air. This time of year is my favorite time to go with the leaves changing colors and falling to the ground. Have been here many times before but most recently walked some trails with my dad and saw a deer! Be kind to nature!

Great place to run, bike or walk with the family. There is a huge hill to climb (and run down of course). A really nice path around the lake for the family with great scenery. (just over a mile and a half). There is also a forest path if you are looking for some cover.

The best place to see the most beautiful sunsets! It’s local & has a beautiful view of the lake. Awesome place for kayaking, biking & sledding in the winter. If you are going for a walk around the lake be advised that there are areas that are flooded especially after a rainy day

Absolutely beautiful place! Parking was nice also. We went during the week and it wasn’t crowded. Saw some deer and got nice pictures. Gnats we’re insane but that’s nature so no complaints. Definitely recommend

It's a great place to have a picnic! They renovated the parking lot so there's more availability now than before which will fill up quickly in the winter. The only downside is the flooding that happens in the back part of the trail, really stinks when you're in the groove of a run but have to turn around. Otherwise a really great spot to enjoy some outdoor activities.

Always a great place to walk around the trail. Plenty of room for all kinds of outdoor activities. Love cooking food out here too!

Great place to run but for years the trail always floods and nothing is done about it. Build a bridge or something…

Nice quiet place just across the street. There is a main path around Lake Patterson as well as offshoot trails that go into the woods if you like a nice hike or walk your dog. The one downside is you may need to be mindful of dead trees; the forest preserve does not do a great job of cleaning that up. Also, I do not recommend going after dark, there is questionable activity that goes on so please be careful if you choose to do so. On the other hand, it's a good place to spot deer and sometimes coyotes.

Beautiful place to walk, run, or bike. There's about a 2 mile trail around the lake, but be aware that it was very muddy in some places and there was some places that had about six inches of standing water. Someone put a bunch of fallen trees down so you can use that to cross if you have good balance and don't wanna get wet. I'm excited to go back and explore some more another time.

Beautiful forest. Lovely lake. Must visit in fall time the color of leaves make it an amazing site. It has a nice little hill which is fun to climb and a lot of hiking trails.

Very nice little preserve. It has an awesome hill with some good views, which are hard to find in flat Illinois. Minus one star because I accidentally fell into the lake 14 years ago during a cross country meet, lol. But seriously, some portions of the trails can get flooded.

Lived here for 7 years and didn't know this place existed. Nice trail around the lake. Good size lake for paddle boarding, rowing, etc. Some people were fishing. There are bathrooms and I think picnic tables. Big hill to walk up if you want a harder workout.
