I bring my son here. We always find a variety of wild life here and have fun:) the nature center itself is neat and a great place to bring kids on days you need to stay indoors

It is a beautiful park! It is such a shame that vandals have made improvements to it extremely hard. The water levels are pretty low because of it in the fishing lakes. It will be wonderful once it is all improved.

What an amazing nature playground! It’s everything we were looking for as an escape from the city. Lots of open-ended opportunities for gross motor movement and natural play. We could have spent hours there! The center itself is also wonderful, with all kinds of activities for kids and great window benches for parents. Note that although the center closes at 4, the playground (located just behind the big beautiful nature center building) is open until sundown, and there are restrooms accessible from outside.

UPDATE: second time here to do a paint your rain barrels event. Loved it! This center puts together some really nice programs. First time here, I came to see hummingbirds on the roof top garden and not a one showed up. But I stayed on the roof for a little while because it was peaceful. (I arrived when they first opened so no one else was there). The quiet went away when a number of kids showed up. This is a nice nature center, plus the staff is very helpful. There are trails, and behind the center they have a very rustic kids area in the woods. There are trails that take you to the trout ponds or lakes, but I chose to drive there. Many people were fishing, riding bikes, and walking. There is a bait store to buy anything you may need.

Very nice preserve. If you are going to walk the trail around the lake, you may want to save this one for cooler or overcast days. Shade is not plentiful. If you begin your walk from the Nature Center parking lot, Will County Woods Walk has distance at 2.77 miles. Short trip on wooded mulch trail down to the paved trail that circles the lake.

One of the biggest nature centers in the Western suburbs we had been with our son. Been to the Little red house (huge),Lyman's Nature center ( small), Knoch knolls nature center ( very small),Sagawau canyon nature preserve center ( middle range) It have 2 floors .The first floor have tons of activities you can do for free. Been at Winter but I see tons to do with seating areas outside the main center. Only downfall is it is close during Mon and Tues, otherwise highly recommending it.

Great nature center with rooms for kiddies. The rooms with activities, sensory, and crafts I would say is geared for babies to about 8 year olds. Definitely a fun spot to check out. The playground area in the back is awesome! So much to climb and check out. There is also a path you can explore out there.

This has to be by far the best nature center. The energy you feel as soon as you walk in is spectacular. Max the tortoise is the cutest thing you will ever see. Creed the snapping turtle is my all time favorite ❀️

A hidden, peaceful beauty filled with multiple ponds stocked with all kinds of gaming fish and lovely trees all throughout. Very relaxing walk on a paved trail. Can't wait to go again.

Fantastic! It was lovely before. Since the county forest preserve took over, they opened up the former preschool classrooms and stocked them with activities and crafts. Clean and well maintained and we only see one or two more families while we were there playing.

This is a really awesome place that my family stumbled upon while walking on the path. It has tons of trails and cool things for kids to play on and around. We can't wait to come back here with our daughter and let her play some more!

Amazing park. I come here was my wife almost every week to walk around. The hidden Lakes is a very beautiful nature area. It is very well maintained and is always free of garbage or later. I wish it was closer so I can come here more often. The parking is very spacious and the trails are wide and good for long walks. There is also good fishing now although they do have some pretty strict restrictions on fishing.

It was actually pretty nice. Went there on a little lunch date. Didn't expect to see much there. went because they had a little picnic area. We walked and went exploring, and found more than I thought was there. Trails, a little museum. Sculptures a little shopping area, small play rooms for children, a reading area, bird watching area equipped with small binoculars and like a bird bingo game. It was actually pretty cool.

Good for hiking, biking, jogging, relaxing and enjoying the nature This park has small pond for fishing , benches to enjoy the nature, bridge and one lil tiny stall for water/ juice in case if you need to quench your thirst on hot summer day. Although I visited last week and it was lil chilly. If you planning to go this time of the year make sure you wear smth warm so you can enjoy your visit

Fantastic place to take your kids and see a few snakes & turtles. All sorts of indoor and outdoor activities for kids to do. Amazing people that love their job.

It was a wonderful experience. They have an indoor space for children. Their outdoor hiking was well mapped. They also have a fishing spot. There is plenty of parking. My toddler had a blast at the place.

What a neat place! There are various exhibits indoors and out, with shelves near the entrance of locally made products and interactive tables for the kids. This is definitely a place to visit for serene trails (that connect to the Hidden Lakes Trout Farm). Make sure to donate time and/or money to keep places like this nature center going!

We're so happy to have visited this nature center before they closed for renovations. My 2.5 y/o son was so engaged with the interactive installments they had and enjoyed seeing and saying hi to the turtles in their enclosures. On top of that, the staff is so welcoming! We look forward to visiting again!

I signed up for the twilight paint and sip and had a wonderful time. The price was affordable and they had everything you needed along with some snacks and water. You were allowed to bring your own wine or beer to enjoy as well. The event was well organized, very welcoming and they had many staff members to keep everyone happy with paint refills and guided instruction if needed. I highly recommend this, even if you have no one to go with, as a single sign up I had a really nice time meeting people and having a fun evening.

First time here for a hike on my own. Walked part of the trial and it was nice, quiet and clean. Highly recommended.

A beautiful nature preserve. Check out the upper part for a neat sculpture garden, and then travel inwards to their lovely lakes and walking trails. Parking is limited in the lower section, so be prepared to park in the upper section and walk down if necessary. The big lake at sunset is especially lovely.
