Wonderful community resource and big, green, open space in the middle of Hyde park. I love taking the kids here to run around in the grass, go to the skating rink in the winter, play on the statue. the fact that it is recessed in to the ground actually makes it a lot of fun!

I cannot believe this lovely little park called Garden of the Phoenix is here for all to enjoy. It is very pretty and so quiet. We found parking near 5900 S. Stoney Island then walked East for 6 minutes. We also walked along the paths and saw the museum nearby. There is a busy street, so be careful.

It’s a nice enough park, but it’s fairly noisy due to the traffic on both sides and it’s often flooded and/or littered with trash. Skating rink is lovely in the winters.

Visited this location for the Hyde Park Summer Fest. Really enjoyed my self nice set up and a variety of different vendors and food trucks to choose from. There’s was a long walk to the gate entrance and you should most definitely bring a lawn chair. Overall experience was good.

Perfect place for ice skating in the snow!! Aside from the gentrification in the area and overload of white families an their ungrateful spoiled non mask wearing kids (some).

It's basically a park, good for sledding in the winter and picnics in the summer. You have to set up your own grills and picnic tables, though.

Was there for a Caribbean festival, cool vibe and a different part of Chicago, of the beaten path. Worth spending a day exploring and University of Chicago is a must see

We had a blast!!! The weather was perfect and the people we met up with were hilarious and fun. The rink is well maintained. There's a mix of skaters out there so there's plenty to see. Holiday music playing added a nice touch!! $7 (to rent skates), otherwise its FREE. You DO need to reserve your space (s) via the Chicago Park District website. Timed admission kept the rink from getting overcrowded. πŸΎπŸ’™πŸΎ

Great place to skate β€” decent ice β€” lots of parking. They have ice hockey you can join for a few. Check their schedules for skating and hockey times

Very nice people at this ice skating rink. Free of charge if you have your own ice skates. $7 if you rent skates when you arrive.

It’s a nice park to take a walk in but the sidewalks needs to be redone and there’s a lot of litter. Other than that, it’s a nice view.
