A nice place to go fishing , multiple spots around the lake to fish. Bike paths that can lead to Bushy walking trails too🎋🌳

It was great up until the time this Karen and her two dogs decided to start wading in the water 20 feet next to me as I was trying to fish. It's a good size lake, plenty of other places to do that. Also I don't think you're supposed to be wading in the lake and dogs are supposed to be on leash.

This forest preserve is in a league of its own. Grasses, trees...dirt! It's like stepping back in time, not to the primordial earth because that would stink because there would not be enough oxygen, but to a a time 10,000 years ago after the retreat of the last glaciers in the area. You can imagine giant flat faced bears and mega huge three toed giant sloths, and saber toothed cats! It's also a nice place to sit and eat a sandwich. I highly suggest you go there and revel in the raw, rugged beauty of it all.

This really nice place where you can enjoy clam nature. You have walk around the lake, bike ride, your own kayak or boat ride.

Extremely disappointed. Why does a park open an hour after sunrise? Horrible decision making by DuPage. I refuse to come here solely for this reason. Look at this beautiful morning, and I can’t even enjoy a park that I paid for. Change your rules.

This place is so great! Nice dirt nature path trail around the lake with several little side trails along the way that lead to docks and rocks along the water. The whole loop is around 1.4 miles and some parts are narrow with roots jutting up on the ground so be careful. There is a spacious parking lot, restrooms, and plenty of natural beauty to lose yourself in.

Updated - loved the walk around the lake. Lots of wildlife and the scenery is different depending on where you walk to. Small, but pretty to walk around

Great single track trail, the only problems with the trails, for people who like trail/mountain biking it's a nice place but theres pretty much no challenge to the trail, and the only fun fast trails are blocked off by fallen trees, and they aren't small trees either. The normal main trail has some roots and small inclines and declines, and it has one spot you can jump with enough speed, theres one spot that there is supposed a mini bridge but it's gone and you have to ride through a little river that you cant ride through normaly (depends on your skill I guess). Also, I must warn you that that you have to give the trail a few days to dry to ride it after it rains, because this trail is a nightmare when its wet and extremely muddy. The trail has some really nice views and it has a launch port, it also multiple docks and you can fish, in spring the trail shrubs are burned away and the trail becomes more open, but in summer the trail becomes overgrown at some parts and the mosquitos are terrible, but that's only deep into the trail, it's great for running, walking, riding, I'd recommend this place for people who just want to take an small adventurous run or walk, but if you want to go on a casual bike ride here I would just go the mallard lake, but if you want a more challenging short technical trail, go for it!

Great fishing spot. Clear water. You can see the fish. Good for walking, biking, small boating/kayaking. Lots of turtles. Family friendly. Public bathroom. Ample parking. Picnic tables available. Not usually crowded.

What a blast! Such an amazing place 👏. So many fishing spots, benches, and everything else! Trails went on forever, never ending exploration. Just make sure to explore the people made paths, there are parts of the old mine that was there. I really recommend this place to families with 9-14 yrs.

Used to have better landscaping and rock embankments when I was a kid. Back then I would reel in small fish every 10 seconds and throw them back, now I still catch the occasional fish but it's not what it used to be.
