Well maintained off leash areas for large and small dogs. Excellent year round location for your dog(s) to blow off energy and rest when they get back home.

If we still lived in the area, we definitely would have continued our membership. Absolutely worth every penny, assuming you actually bring your dog. The park is gigantic and is split up into two sides. This allows for the grass to heal on one side and not get too muddy. The park rangers do come and check for passes from time to time so if you intend on trying to sneak in for free, be wary that they actually do check. Overall, the park is very well maintained. Owners who go here are responsible and actually clean up after their dogs. We now live closer to a free park which is nice, but the size and quality of Whalon Lake is unmatched.

This park offers open space, bike trails, mowed trails, pavilions, prairie, marsh, historic relics, large and small dog park, fishing, kayaking, wildlife, deer, trees and overall pristine natural beauty. It’s a hidden gem that has different personalities each season of the year and time of the day. Hope you go enjoy this beautiful nature preserve.

I used to belong and take my dogs ... but bad dogs and very nasty owners. I just got fed up with politely asking and getting rude nasty replies. I would see people calling the police on people and their dogs ! This is what I pay money for? I now walk my dog around the lake and do not go to the dog park. One last thing about the dog park ... they do not take any care of tick infestation. Check your dogs often.

A mud pit most days. I’ve asked that they consider mulching the muddy areas and they said they don’t mulch the dog parks. They have, so this person apparently isn’t involved with that. More modern dog parks have rinse off stations - this one does not. So a trip to the dog park becomes a commitment to dog baths and car detailing after a visit. Pass

We stopped by to let our puppy run free. Between socializing with other small dogs and running around, I don't recall seeing this puppy so happy! Beautiful location that's full of dog lovers. Simy devine.

This place is nice but you have to watch your car because of the low life bums that break into peoples car when you go to walk. They still didn’t install cameras or have people on dutie not to mention they don’t have anything special that keeps aggressive dogs out. Just last week three cars broken into I think we’ll go to a different dog park that takes care of their paying customers.

Large area for dogs to run. Awesome views for the owners. A lot of barking going on.

Bike/ walk trails, picnic tables and grills available, beautiful scenery. A bit of city noise so not a total escape from it but pretty close. We saw herons, geese, ducks, turtles... veeeeeery lively there with animals.

Decent facility. Gates and fencing are run down and rusty. Could use a fountain for the dogs to make it easier to water them.

Glorious large dog park, well kept facilities ample parking and even a clean bathroom. Separate area for small dogs if you like. Be mindful when you arrive though, of my 4 visits over the holiday, two included off leash pit bull aggression.

Plenty of space for your furry friends to run around. Two large fields are rotated between frequently for the big dogs (ensures no major wear and tear on the grass) and a separate section for smaller pets. My only comment to the entrance sometimes gets a little messy because of the small gravel (should be replaced with wood chips imo). But all of the dogs definitely love this park and that's what matters.

This location was absolutely perfect for our little gathering for my granddaughter! The pavilion gave us a place to eat with distance, we used the green space under a big tree to experience some shaded sunlight, and the walking path and lake view were beautiful to the adults and intriguing to the children. We will definitely come again and again!

Love this dog park! Every so often they switch sides which keeps the grass together and keeps it interesting for our dog. Plus, they have a small dog section that is perfect for when we bring our senior dog. The $40 for the year is very worth it!

It was awesome! My wife and I are up here visiting from North Carolina, and we Google to find this park. We took our small dog in and around! Other than being mad at you because of all the snow that's occurred over the last couple of weeks, it was lots of fun and there's lots of open space for him to run around!

Best outdoor place in the middle of busy suburban landscape. Good for canoeing, paddle boat, skate board or just walk/run. A new bridge has made this place even more scenic. A dog park makes it even more attractive for pet owners. Don't forget to take a picture and post it on social media accounts for the park

Nice park Lake has usually been good fishing when I fish. Dog park you need a permit $20 for 6 months according to patron I asked said they don't charge if it is a 1 time visit. This photo is a short walk south of dog park.

My grandson had his surprise birthday party here. Dog park is nice but people also were running, walking and biking. Just on a quick inspection I see little space to fish.

I have been coming here for yeeeeears. Nice trails and open areas to play with your dogs, my only concern is that there are some owners who do not keep an eye on their dogs, or will not move them away from the Entrance Gate where they can be a little intimidating and aggressive.

I love the fact that there is a separate small dog park. My little girl is afraid of big dogs and the small park is still huge enough for her to run and run. The park is very well kept up and so clean.

The park itself is beautiful but beware if there are larger dogs there watch your dog closely as my poor dog got trampled by a group of larger dogs and the owners didn’t call them off as she was knocked to the ground. She’s just at cutoff for weight between the two entrances at around 35lbs so we took her to the larger dog side. It looks like a group meetup as they seemed to know each other. I would never let my dog behave that way and not apologize to the owner. We went to the smaller dog side that was empty and let her play and luckily she had a nice time to running around. I will take her to the small dog side on until she is bigger. Geez.

Entrance is on Royce Rd, it has 3 small parks, one for small and for large dogs. The third is rotated out for grass regrowth. Usually not packed, even before Covid-19, overall it's kept clean and maintained. Also walking to Whalon Lake albeit leashed is a nice walk as well.
