Nice paved trail - quiet and clean. Not crowded but light use on weekdays. The trail is about 8 feet wide which means it’s wide enough for passing people. Suitable for bikes, rollerblades, walking and running. The pavement is in excellent condition (free from cracks) and very little debris on the surface. Just an occasional twig, etc. The park district probably cleans the trail regularly. The river/channel is about 30 feet from the water, which improves the experience of being here. There are muffled traffic sounds but hardly noticeable. There are litter cans every half mile or so. Some graffiti here and there, but most of it is artfully done. The trailhead has plenty of parking and there is a playground and picnic area with two tables.

Very cool. Steel beam bridge is a perfect backdrop for photography.

Maintained well. Great bike riding trail. Can get busy at times, especially around Lake Katherine. More open with less stops the farther west you go. Cool waterfall feature east of Harlem Ave.

This is a pretty nice trail. It's well paved with plenty of shade and only a few places where our is disrupted by city streets.

This’s mine first time here and the trail is under construction what a disappointment that’s 😏 they need to update that before anybody comes in here 🙃

Great trail. It's the second time we travel it first time we made it to mile marker 6, today was 4. It's clean, and people using it very polite. The the fact that for the most part is forest makes it great.

The trail would be much better if it was made to where it would go east from the Cicero Ave bridge to where you can go under the green I294 bridge on the Cal Sag Channel. I don't know why, and the trail map says it.

Great paved trail. Trail head map shows ability to go further east but this is the end of the line sooooo westbound only from here.

TRAIL CLOSED ON 127th St Bridge: As of October 2022 the Cal Sag Trail is still closed at the 127th Street Bridge. There is construction in progress on and under the bridge. Pedestrian and bicycle traffic are prohibited from crossing the bridge. Otherwise, the Trail outside the closed bridge section is still open. Repeating: the 127th Street bridge portion of the Trail is closed to bicycles and pedestrian traffic.
