Visited
a
couple
of
weeks
ago
and
had
a
very
pleasant
experience
right
up
until
the
end.
The
store
has
an
impressive
selection
of
freshwater
fish.
My
mother
and
I
both
have
multiple
aquariums
and
we
both
purchased
a
few
Kuhli
loaches
since
Animal
Island
carried
the
striped
ones
(I've
only
ever
been
able
to
find
black
kuhlis).
I
also
purchased
some
ghost
shrimp
and
freshwater
clams.
After
some
debate
I
decided
to
purchase
3
discus
for
my
2nd
largest
aquarium.
The
young
lady
who
helped
us
was
great,
taking
the
time
to
catch
larger
loaches
for
us.
I
picked
out
one
discus
and
asked
her
to
catch
me
2
others
that
were
healthy
and
alert.
After
she
caught
the
fish,
I
was
worried
that
the
one
I
picked
was
swimming
a
bit
odd,
so
I
asked
her
if
it
looked
okay.
She
opted
to
ask
another
staff
member,
a
young
man
who
happened
to
be
passing
by.
His
attitude
was
very
dismissive
when
he
answered
and
he
commented,
"...
if
she's
going
to
take
them
and
throw
them
in
with
a
bunch
of
other
fish,
they're
just
going
to
stress
out
and
die..."
Then
he
turned
directly
to
me
and
asked,
with
a
very
accusatory
tone,
"What
are
you
putting
them
in
with?"
I
explained
that
they
were
going
into
a
90
gallon
planted
aquarium
with
small,
schooling
tetras.
His
attitude
deflated
a
bit
and
he
reluctantly
approved
of
the
set
up
before
launching
into
how
I
would
need
to
do
water
changes
twice
a
week
or
the
discus
would
die.
I'm
already
doing
weekly
water
changes
and
have
powerful
filtration,
so
my
water
quality
is
pristine.
After
telling
the
young
man
this,
he
finally
seemed
satisfied
enough
to
return
to
other
tasks.
The
young
lady
assisting
me
looked
uncomfortable
with
the
young
man's
behavior.
I
understand
that
a
lot
of
people
will
walk
into
a
store
and
buy
a
fish
without
even
considering
the
care
required
for
the
animal
to
live
a
long,
healthy,
comfortable
life,
but
there
are
also
people
who
have
done
the
research
and
prepared
in
advance
before
choosing
to
add
that
particular
pet
to
their
home.
I
feel
like
I
was
being
discouraged
from
purchasing
these
fish.
I've
had
plenty
of
store
employees
grill
me
on
what
kind
of
home
I
would
provide
for
the
fish
I
was
picking
out,
but
this
is
the
first
time
someone
approached
me
as
if
I
was
completely
ignorant.
I
hope
this
employee
was
just
having
a
bad
day,
but
he
needs
to
work
on
his
approach
to
educating
their
customers.
Thought
very
off-putting,
the
experience
only
knocked
off
one
star
for
the
business
as
a
whole.
My
discus
and
loaches
are
doing
well.
I
would
recommend
the
store
to
others
and
I
may
check
them
out
again
in
the
near
future
when
I
set
up
my
office
aquarium.
I'm
hoping
to
find
some
Celestial
Pearl
Danios
and
quality
neocaridina
shrimp.
