Visitors pay 10USD for this self guided tour which was enlightening. The shuttles from the visitor center takes you to the ruins and the museum. The museum is excellent and if expect to spend some time browsing and reading everything. The site itself is magestic and I would definitely recommend going. The areas outside the centre is not very safe and we met with some kind policemen who picked us up and drove us to the centre.

This was my very first time at this museum. It is interés to read and learn about the old Panama city, how it happened when it got founded and what happened to it. Ot is great that this museum keeps aome artifacts that were used back then and that are properly preserved for visitors to appreciate and see how our history as Panamanians started.

If you enjoy museums &/or history & you're not a local pay the $15. It's worth it. Bilingual signage, a newly created museum, your $$ is invested in saving the historical sites through research & repair. I spent 4 hours there and was more impressed than expected.

The museum here is pretty good, lots of info in English. The ruins are worthwhile as well, and there are a few good facilities, including an artisanal market across the parking lot that stays open later. The major downside is that the site is a long strip, and they close off all the entrances and exits except the one at the far end next to the Visitor Center. It's not really accessible by public transport then and Google Maps is a bad guide to get there unless you know to type in the Visitor Center. It's a little pricey and they don't seem to have audio tours or regular hours for the shuttles. Adding tours at certain times (at least once a day) would make this 5*.

Museum was pretty decent but mostly small and self guided. We had a tour guide named Olda through a tour company. She was absolutely horrible and did not really tell us too much about anything. We tacked on to another guide and learned quite a bit. If you are in Panama on a tour and get Olda do yourself a favor and ask to switch guides.

We passed it, or the ruins , from the public bus from down town. Nice trip. An armed policeman helped us cross the road as we are old and enfeebled. You would not get that service in England. Indeed you won’t find a policeman. Here in Panamá -everywhere.

Visiting the old city was absolutely amazing. Reading about the history of the site and the invasion really gave a cool perspective to the whole experience. I especially enjoyed the large model of the old city that was there, which had many labels showing where different significant locations were. All in all, this was great.
