This property is a sham. We booked the Marvelous Suite for my birthday. We were eating lunch and when my friend told the bartender she never got her drink he just walked away. Called the front desk and asked for towels that never came. Oh and watching the front desk employees ignore you while they text or talk amongst each other is always fun. Ordered a drink and app by the pool. Never comes and after I tell the front desk to remove it from my bill they attempt to deliver HALF of the order 3 hours after I placed it. Throw up on a piece of bedding. Writing on towels. Dilapidated pool. Rude front desk agents that ignore you. Charges from the mini bar for items you never consumed. Will never stay at a Marriott property again even though I have status because of this stay.

This review is for their New Year's Eve party that they hosted. My wife and I searched around for a really nice party in Panama City. We found this one, booked it and loved it. The dinner buffet was a lot bigger and better than we expected and I had a ton of drinks (all you can eat and drink). The food was a wide variety with people cutting/grilling meats, a sushi table, salad table, pasta station, fried rice station, various heated dishes, and a bunch of desserts. The live music was excellent with dance songs played in-between sets. They also had a setup for some nice photos. Overall we really enjoyed it and highly recommend this as your NYE party destination.

A great rooftop area perfect to have a drink and look out over the city. The inside bar area has rather uncomfortable chairs, yet outside is beautiful! Beautiful murals of the building of the Panama Canal.

Pros: Some of the front desk people were pleasant and helpful but others were not. The bartenders were awesome. Breakfast was delicious. Cons: There was no heat in the room (16 degrees Celsius!). There was mold in the shower and water didn't get hot (only lukewarm). The hallways were damp and smelly (and likely moldy). The pool wasn't clean or warm.

If i could put 0 star I would! What a place and tan by incompetents! If you don’t want to sleep - stay there If you like the smell of humidity - stay there If you like poor but pricey selection at breakfast - stay there! If you like not to have a hot shower and ask them to fix 3 times before they really fix it - stay there If you want to chase their managers for your bill for a week - stay there I travelled all Americas for the past 14 years and I can tell you it was THE worst stay ever!

This hotel provides exceptional service that starts before check in. Transportation is available for a fee if you need to be picked up from the airport. There’s restaurants and bars on site. The pool is amazing. The front desk staff is amazing. Housekeeping is amazing. The valet is amazing. Everything is amazing. I have no complaints and will recommend this location 100%.

What a great experience. Nice views, spacious rooms. Uber affordable and easily accessible. Customer service was outstanding. I am a gold member and we arrived at 7am and were able to have complimentary early check in. Our room was ready by 9am! We were so exhausted from our redeye flight and this was greatly appreciated. We were also celebrating a birthday and they provided a beautiful cake and handwritten card free of charge. Will love to stay again!

This hotel is a full fledged scam. Booked the marvelous suit because it was the nicest room available in the city at the time of booking. Arrived to a room with mold growing in the bathroom and physical damage to almost every surface. Human and pet hair was on the bedding and all fabric surfaces. Also the window leaks when it rains. Let the front desk know and stepped out of the room for 5 hours to allow for cleaning. All these pictures were taken AFTER cleaning. Spoke to the manager personally and while they were apologetic they did not fix anything or offer solutions. Offered to downgrade to a clean room but that did not happen. The front desk staff made excuses for the mold because its wet season. The Waldorf Astoria does not have any mold during wet season for anyone wondering so save your money and stay there instead. The breakfast is fine and dinner was good. Everything about this establishment feels terrible and like a fraud. Ended up calling Marriott global about the situation and received a points credit and called amex to report the hotel and received a credit. I am telling you this hotel is a waste of space.

Beautiful hotel indeed! Please make sure staff come in your room while you there. I did have a item taken from me. The. Staff acted so lost yet the cleaners was the only people there.

Good hotel, had a great experience there and recommend it to my friends and coworkers. Charging for wifi is the biggest reason why I gave 4 starts. Charging 75 usd for early check-in is another reason. I do understand it's totally acceptable to charge it, so I happily paid. But my previous hotel didn't charge for any of those and I must recognize it.

Booked a room with a jacuzzi and a balcony months in advance. Timed our arrival perfectly. Check in was 3pm but my room wasn't ready until 4:30pm so we were left waiting for over an hour. They comped us 1 drink and 1 free breakfast for that. We accepted not knowing the wait would be that long because at 3:30pm they told us it would be ready shortly. Room was gorgeous. Hotel smelled amazing. We spent a lot of time in the cabanas by the pool and not once was I offered a menu or any service. However, aways felt welcomed by the staff out front, they were always offering assistance and gave us warm welcoming smiles and greetings whenever we returned. Paul Restaurant on the 1st floor is superb *chef's kiss*

Great location, great room, average staff, terrible breakfast! Left some iPods in the room and the “Guest Experience Expert” Paola wanted $250 to mail them to me!! Should have read more reviews before booking. Won’t be back!

God awful hotel, amazing views but the staff is so bad. They say it’s free breakfast, then charge you $35 each time you go when you’re checking out. The front desk charged me for the wow suite for the entire stay then gave away my original room. Staff said it’s free breakfast then charged me at the end. They paid for these 5 star reviews, avoid this hotel and stay at the Hilton instead

Excellent hotel in the heart of the city’s business area. The pool is fantastic. Excellent service by the pool bar staff. Great vibes in the hotel. Breakfast buffet has a wide variety of selection.

I really don’t understand the bad reviews! The staff was very friendly, professional, and hard workers! Paul’s food is everything ! I had the marvelous with the balcony. Clean and beautiful room…I loved it! Truth of the matter this is downtown, and a music playing hotel! If you want to quiet hotel, as quiet as it really is people are here to enjoy a little so if you don’t wanna hear music don’t book! I slept good and didn’t hear anyone personally…it’s a club near that you can hear the music but that didn’t bother me !

Got to get a room with a tub! Room was great with great views of the skyline. The service was absolutely phenomenal and anytime I needed something it there super quick. Front desk staff were helpful. The shower and the room amenities were great. Mini bar was fully stocked. Would definitely stay here again.

Great experience at the W, staff was friendly and bilingual which made communicating easier. The design of the hotel was chic and great for all ages. I will say that the menu is a bit pricey, 10$ for a Panama Lager... tu ta loco. Besides that everything was amazing, would love to come back.

Had a really bad experience at this hotel. The room smelled like cigarettes, bathroom was not clean and the Valet lost my car key. They denied they lost it and now the key magically appears on entrance table, yet nobody cleaned the rest room that had hair and dry urine. The room is nice and so are the staff but I am not at all happy with my stay. Also I booked with Chase LHR but got charged for upgrade, received no in-room gift and no instructions for checkout. I have often stayed at the Waldorf Astoria, and I recommend anyone traveling here to do the same.

The room decor is too modern to be comfortable. The pool area had little shade. For a luxury hotel, this was not the most comfortable place to stay. The staff, however, was very attentive... But didn't know the neighborhood well enough to help us find a sim card.

My stay at the W Hotel was truly enjoyable. The rooms were not only stylish but also infused with a playful and fun ambiance, offering a great view. The overall cleanliness of the hotel was impressive, and the staff provided fantastic service. Additionally, the hotel's perfect location in a very walkable area added to its appeal. During the evenings, the hotel came alive with a vibrant atmosphere at the restaurants, yet, surprisingly, once inside, it remained remarkably quiet, allowing for a peaceful and restful night. The W Hotel strikes an excellent balance between liveliness and tranquility, making it a highly recommended choice.

Nice hotel, but you hear everything. Receiving a delivery charge on top of already overpriced drinks when asking picking up two cans at the reception is simply over the top. Pretty good breakfast and some very nice staff members.

Club inside hotel bangs music until 4:15am which vibrates through rooms. Avoid Saturdays if you want to sleep. Internet is $7.5 a day.

We chose the W Panama as a treat for my birthday, sadly it turned into more of a nightmare. We were woken one morning to tapping, banging and drilling coming from one of the other rooms which instantly woke us up and we could barely hear each other speak. The front desk didn’t believe us, so that’s why I recorded a video! We were moved rooms and received a refund for the poor nights sleep we had but I can honestly say I’ve stayed in better 3* hotels than this. The attention to detail is seriously poor, I’m not sure if the W took this over from another hotel chain but it’s looking really tired. - Walls aren’t painted properly - shower is covered in mould - windows can barely be seen out of - bathroom door didn’t close - window blinds didn’t fully close - the pool had missing concrete edges making it really quite dangerous and unsafe The only positive I would say is the location, it’s easy to walk to a nearby supermarket (Rey), most tourist sites are a short Uber ride away or the Hop on hop off bus stops a few streets away. Due to my experience here I wouldn’t waste my money and stay in another W hotel.

The W hotel in Panama was a wonderful experience for myself and my friends. We enjoyed the rooms and all the amenities that this hotel offered. Now, I do want to highlight that this is considered an high end hotel in downtown Panama, so the bar and restaurant were a little pricey, but the experience was well worth it. "Thank me later!"

Overall great hotel in downtown Panama City, Panama. We stayed the weekend for a small wedding event. Beware, if you host an event with an open bar be sure to checkout type of liquor they are serving your guest. I caught them a few times serving bottom shelf liquor when we had paid for top shelf.

Beautiful facilities! Staff were extremely attentive and friendly. Would definitely recommend this location. The breakfast was a FULL spread of all varieties of items hot and cold.

Inside the evolution tower on Calle 50 is the W hotel. Curiously it is just in front of the Bristol hotel where we used to stay. Lobby entrance is located on floor 15 and it's the level of the pool and bar as the Moro restaurant where they serve an excellent breakfast. Rooms are well appointed clean and in great shape after a few years of opening. Housekeeping is good they are accurate and clean the unit well. Friendly service from the bell captain to the waiters and front desk. I'll definitely return next time to Panamá. Good wifi too.

Went for vacation, money was stolen from the room, and a report was made to which only 1 person entered the room in our absence. How the Hotel treated with this led much to be desired. This, however, doesn't change the fact that the location is ideal and the rooms were clean, service was simply overwhelmingly poor.

Well appointed hotel in the middle of the business/financial district of Panama City. Service was sometimes hit-or-miss (had to call and ask for daily housekeeping multiple times, but received turn-down service every night). The bar’s drinks were often weak, but refreshed nonetheless after a hot day. Buffet breakfast was delicious! This is a good place to stay while on business in Panama, but might want to go elsewhere if you’re looking for a resort vacation.

The hotel room was clean and comfortable. The only drawback is that we were facing the pool, and there were people on the roof all night and it was extremely loud and non-conducive to sleep. Might help to make the rooms more sound proof since a good night's sleep is essential to have a well rested day. The breakfast buffet was ok too, for 30$ I expected a live omelette station but all what was available was pre-cooked food.

The location of the hotel was in a good spot and very close to many other places to visit. The hotel staff was very nice and accommodating. They welcome you at the door and carry your bags to your room. The room is really nice and the view was nice as well. My only issue is that the water was not as hot as I would like, it was giving luke warm. I also didn’t like the fact that they charge and extra 25$ for a late checkout of an hour. The food was pretty good and the steak was top tier at their restaurant called La Cajita.

The service and stay were good. However, I had an incident with a value that was inside my room. I talked to the security manager and the hotel manager. However, they didn't seem interested in solving the problem, using unjustifiable arguments. Therefore, the hotel staff's ability to solve problems is poor and doesn't prioritize the customer's well-being, but only the interests of the hotel. The way the problem was addressed doesn't match the hotel's standard. The hotel only considers incidents its responsibility if they have been recorded on camera. Therefore, if any incident happens in your room or in any area inside the hotel without cameras, the hotel considers it's not their responsibility.

I have never given a bad review before, but my stay at the W hotel left me upset. While making sure I don't leave anything in the hotel room before checking out, I found a big ball of woman's hair under the bed runner, which leads me to believe that the sheets were not replaced after the previous guest and I laid on dirty linen. The people at the front desk lightly apologized but seemed unbothered and gave no explanation. The kindness from the staff could also be highly improved. A greeting or a smile should suffice, but I guess the hotel's staff is unmotivated. Waiters just showed up for tips.

Food excellent. Service at cajita restaurant horrible (would not heat up a chamomile tea because not bought there even though spent $200 on food). Hotel service excellent. Hotel room setup too funky for me. Shower protrudes into sleeping area and wash basin is an island in middle of room. But bed was super comfortable!

Beautiful & very clean hotel. Looks just like the pictures but very dark definitely at night. Staff was great throughout the entire hotel however brunch wasn’t that enjoyable but they do have fresh fruit so that was a plus!

Isaac will always be apart of Panamanian experiences..he is honestly the best person I met after 10 days in Panama. I attempted to make my way back just to tell him thank you in person before leaving Panama. The moment I approached the desk he was smiling and ready to serve; just full of warmth, patience, and laughter. I honestly looked forward to seeing him everytime I went to the lobby floor.. even if he didn't work that day, I still looked for him at the desk. He was very helpful and knowledgeable. The other staff members were also very accommodating/attentive, polite, and pleasant morning, noon, and night. They were always greeting when they see you, any question you have will be taken care of, and they kept the place tidy. The men would dust in the hallway early in the morning and the housekeeping would follow behind for the rooms. I felt safe , comfortable, and rested here. The breakfast...great options for everyone whether picky or a foodie (fresh juices, fresh fruit, and nice hot food) wonderful way to start the mornings. The gym was perfect for all whether you just started getting in the gym or a fitness junkie, their gym is set up for you to not fall off or just get started. The pool area is a nice chill spot and was always kept clean. They literally have EVERYTHING you need here so if you don't want to leave the actual premises, you really don't have to. I loved starting my vacation here and would love to return to this location. I appreciated the staff and it really helped make the stay a pleasure.

Such a modern hotel with cool art installations and furniture to match! Our deck concierge was really cool and sassy and we loved him. He knew all the great spots and was fun to talk with! He greeted us whenever we came down to the bar for food or just popped out of the hotel for the day. The food inside was unlike anything I'd tasted before. A fried sushi roll that tasted incredible and wasn't greasy whatsoever. Such huge bites! So filling! Hot tea went well with it as we enjoyed the city view from the inside bar.

The best view of the city. It close and convenient to everything. Staff is super friendly, warm, welcoming & nice. It's in the perfect place to get to everything u want to do and see in Panama.

Stayed for two nights, overall excellent, great rooms, tasty breakfast. Out of the hotels I've stayed at in Panamá City, I liked The W the best, was better than the nights I stayed at the Waldorf. Also Isaac at the front desk is the best! Made my stay at the hotel even better and was very helpful.

I’ve stayed in a lot of hotels all over the world and I have to say this is one of the best hotel I have stayed in, in terms of service, hospitality, room, venue and dining experience. All of the staff notably the front desk, restaurant and bar staff were very friendly and accommodating. The hotel itself was very well maintained, and well designed. I enjoyed the stay and definitely will stay here again on my next visit. If I had to give 1 criticism, it would be that the shower door was poorly designed as it could not open without the bathroom door being open. Aside from that, I enjoyed the stay!!

Meh - not a luxury, hip hotel by any means, unless you only define "hip" by loud pool music. 1/3 of the restaurant / eating spaces were closed - and the main restaurant was only open for breakfast. Crumbling plaster in the bedroom and the need to "chase up" the housekeeping staff to service our room was a bummer. We didn't feel the love here at all.

This hotel is in a great location especially for first timers. The from desk staff was very welcoming. Isaac at the front desk is awesome he knows his job and has great customer service skills! My room was not ready at 3p so a welcome drink was provided on the house. I took the opportunity to try lunch at the bar. The lunch was just ok I had the pulled pork sandwich and fries. It didn't have much flavor. The room was just as pictured but with minor wear nothing major. I thoroughly enjoyed the large room and shower and especiallythe super sized bathtub. I stayed in the Marvelous suite on the 20th floor. The bed was very comfortable and the bath towels were big girl friendly. I would choose the W Hotel again if I could get the Marvelous suite.

The W for Wow/ Wonderful and like they say at the hotel Whatever and Whenever. The hotel very modern and super clean. Great service and the rooms spectacular. I recommend the room with the jacuzzi over looking the city. Will be back .

Very nice hotel and amenities. However, the room doesn't really have a great work space. My recommendation would be to create a more accommodating work/desk area for guests who may need to work while in the room.

Very beautiful and modern property, atmosphere and furnishings. The pool area and common spaces are very clean and among the best I have experienced in Panama. We arrived around the published check in time and were very confused about just where to go and check in. The lack of proper signage and personnel inside to guide visitors to the check in which is on a completely different floor was very strange. I had a corner room with a great view of the city. The bedding, bathroom and room in general were very comfortable and provided a quiet nights rest. The TV was not so good as every time you turned the channel it took what seemed like a lifetime to load the next channel. At $30 a person, we skipped the breakfast. All together this is a good hotel and I would possibly stay here again when in the area. It just was a little disappointing that with very little effort and a little more attention to detail this hotel would have everything it needs to be a great place to stay.

Stayed here for one night. Rooms are spacious and conveniently located. Offers room service but the food quality is below average. Ordered medium rare steak and got well done. Breakfast is okay but you will get better coffee and food selection at the PAUL right below the hotel.

I enjoyed my stay here! The hotel is beautifully decorated. Rooms were clean and modern. Bed was super comfortable. The fitness centre is well equipped and stocked with water/ towels/ sanitizing wipes. Staff were friendly and easy to communicate with. No issues with wifi either. The only downside is the noise. I'm not sure if it was our neighbour, or it was from the outside, but a loud beeping noise woke us up in the middle of the night. Every cough and sneeze from our neighbours was audible. Come prepared with earplugs!

Great fun hotel with excellent service and a delicious breakfast. My husband lost his cell phone in a taxi and the staff went out of their way to contact the taxi driver and have the phone brought back. Small pool area, go early. Great juices. We stayed in the Fantastic Suite and enjoyed the room and the view.

GREAT HOTEL & LOCATION, EXCELLENT SERVICE, DELICIOUS FOOD & COCKTAILS I've had an excellent experience at all W hotels but this one stands out above the others when it comes to service! The entire team is excellent here. One member, Angelo Cubillan, especially stands out. He is always very personable, positive and I notice be greets everyone with a smile and is efficient during the check in process. The hotel has great amenities including the lively pool with great music & hand crafted cocktails, the spacious gym with up to date modern equipment and the restaurants: 1. The breakfast buffet is excellent and has everything you could ask for including freshly squeezed juices. 2. Paul has a great menu with very tasty food. I highly recommend W Panama :)

We were already looking forward to our stay for weeks! Sooner than expected we ended up in your bar with friends we met and fell in love with the hotel and decided to stay. Not only is the hotel a trendy ‘place m’as-tu vu’, the rooms are very spacious and clean with a nice view and it’s ‘I’m staying in bed-mattresses’. The reason why we really felt at home, was the genuinely friendly staff that made our crazy and lovely memories possible! If we can give one point of constructive feedback: the shops below are really cute and attractive but we lost our appetite because the woman behind the desk was really cold, unfriendly and unlikely to help- read: to get up from her chair.. In short: We will be back!

Can’t see how anyone gave this place less than 5 stars. Decor, ambiance, staff, gym, pool, all AMAZING. My room was incredible and a total vibe. Infinity edge pool with the sun setting over the mountains, a state of the art gym that felt like Equinox , a breakfast that you will never forget with so many fresh items, it couldn’t get any better! Felt like I was in South Beach but way better. The best part of it all was the staff. Everyone had a positive attitude and prioritized customer needs. Brian, Thebe ,and Ashley are only a few of so many wonderful employees that helped me with printing papers for a conference and other requests. They went above and beyond for me throughout the trip and I am so grateful for all of them. I wish all hotel employees had their positive mindset. I’ll be back here next time I’m in Panama 1000%, check out my pictures and see for yourself!!

Great experience! Beautiful suite, great location and excellent staff. Be sure to check your receipt when you are leaving. The hotel tried to sneak a $500 smoking fee onto our receipt :/ The charge was removed (we do not smoke).

Great decor, amazing rooms and amenities, the views from the rooms are gorgeous and the pool area is stunning BUT the service is literally non-existent. No one to help with taking luggage at check in and check out (and we’re not all young), the lobby is quite far from the buildings entrance and at no point did any staff offer assistance. The check in staff was merely doing their job, we arrived just after sunset and the pool bar was already closed. The only place to have a drink was at the bar near the lobby but the air conditioning was set way too cold. The place could have been perfect but it was just poorly managed.
