Worst service ever... Honestly, I've been to hotels all over the world and never have I had such bad communication and service as at this hotel. It's supposed to be a 5 star hotel but neither the service nor the facilities met those expectations. When we arrived the receptionist barely spoke English and it took her a long time to even organize the payment. She then didn't know how to organize an early breakfast option. It took her hours until she confirmed a bagged breakfast for the next morning. We went up to our room and had two large towels only, none for the hands. The next day the room keeping took the used towels and didn't replace them. We came back from our tour and kept asking every 1/2 hours for towels. They told us we get some but never did. We not only wasted lots of time waiting on our room, but I was also standing in the shower wet with still no towel. We talked to them several times and no redress was offered. In addition to that, the rooms are average and so is the lobby. The "spa area" is super small, would need some urgent maintenance and the jacuzzi was extremely dirty with hair swimming all around.

I would say this hotel is more of a 3 to 4 star hotel. It seems like the hotel may have been 5 star at one point. However, the restaurant was dirty. There was stuff on the floor. The ceiling above the back of the restaurant was dirty. I knew the food would be classic food but it wasn't five star quality and it seemed like I was given a piece or half of a steak instead of a whole steak. The gym has musty order so it was obvious they haven't been cleaning it regularly or refreshing the air regularly. It was odd that cheap robes and slippers were only given customers who get a suite. The staff wore masks but it seems like the cleanliness isn't that great, which kind of contradicts the use of masks. They also didn't towels by the pool. Towels are cheap.

Honestly I wish our experience at this hotel had been better. I paid $65 for an anniversary surprise to be set up and when we checked in the surprise was ruined by the security guard who mentioned the decorations in front of my partner, then we were shown to our room and there were no decorations. 15 mins later a knock on the door and we were taken to the correct room, by that time the element of surprise and romance was gone. We were exhausted and planned to take photos of our room the next day. The next morning we left in a hurry to see the city and when we returned the roses and the message had been taken by the cleaning staff. I wish we could’ve enjoyed the anniversary package that was paid for but this was not the case. Otherwise the hotel was okay.

The staff went over and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable and even assisted with activities and transportation.

Staff is super friendly and accommodating. Restaurant has good food at a great price. Our room (corner Global Panama King) is very spacious, has excellent views, and is well maintained. Also they have free parking if you have a car.

Okay hotel to stay a few nights. Room is nice , could be clean more thoroughly , there was hair in the bathroom and shower from previous tenants. Pillows don't have a pillow protector and need to be replaced by new ones. No wash clothes provided. Breakfast was good, not included in price.

I'm staying at the hotel right now. It seems like a nice place that is working through some issues. You can tell by the same response to all the other reviews all on the same day that they are not really able to hit it out of the park. This seems to be a management issues. Under staffing also maybe a problem here. This is a 5 star hotel with out a receptionists till 730 am. The cleaning staff is super nice. The restaurant staff are also amazing.

It's ok but it's not really a 5 star hotel by developed country standards. It's more like a 4 or a 3. We had one of the top rooms but it felt dated and worn out. It is in need of modernization. Service was good here. Location is abit random but other than that I wouldn't come back.

Booked it for a group of friends in Feb 2022 . Great Service and very Friendly Staff. Katrin was excellent in booking all the rooms as per our requirement and always replied to the email. Restaurant staff were always in a friendly mood. Will Definitely come back.

Victor at the front desk and the entire staff are friendly and highly professional. The hotel is clean and modern. I consider the entire package they offer a great value after staying for 2 weeks. The staff helped me navigate some unusual situations that Panama might present someone like me who is a first time traveler to Panama. They always had detailed answers to any and all questions I had. I can't say enough good things about the staff even when rude out of touch customers were yelling at them for problems the customer had created for themselves and was not in any way the hotels fault. In that moment I saw the true character of the staff which was genuinely nice and professional. You learn a lot about someone when they are under undue stress. Keep up the good work Global Hotel, Panama City. My experience with everyone was outstanding. I'll come back to the restaurant and bar just to say hi to the staff and eat when I move to Panama City in 2 weeks.

2022 Visit: The room was clean, spacious with ample work area and very nice shower. My problem was with the wi-fi, which was using an older and insecure protocol - that is, very easily hacked. My laptop refused to connect to it, and because of this, I couldn't stay. The pool area was also small, and not very inviting. 2021 visit: the room was very nice, firm mattress, very clean. Had to request towels because there were not any wash clothes. Also, the clock in the room had the alarm set by a former guest and that went off at 3;00 AM. Grrrr

Pros: Great Location! Many great restaurants in close proximity. Front Desk Staff and Bellman were very nice and accommodating. 24-hour store on the corner was perfect for snacks and bottled water. There was a Clinic/Lab available in walking distance for Covid testing. The test was less than $30. A few minor issues but they were resolved when we notified the staff. We will return to Panama and use this Hotel in October. You can't beat the price! Cons: There were only 2 bath towels and 1 wash cloth in the room. Even when the room was cleaned they only left 1 wash cloth. Phone did not have the phone lines so we could call the front desk. They did fix the issue.

It's a great hotel with amazing rooms, comfy beds, good work space and a sweet rooftop pool. The bathroom hot water and water pressure can be iffy.

Slightly dated with a strong scent of sliced apple in the lobbies. However generous sized rooms with a great review. The hotel is very fortunate to have great front of house staff- a special mention to Manuel who really made our stay in PCY fantastic with his recommendations

The global hotel made our entire vacation one to remember! The hotel is so clean and the service of the front desk is amazing! Our room was cleaned every single day and restocked to the fullest. We never had to ask for more toiletries which was amazing! The location is perfect and so convenient. Would definitely recommend the global hotel!

3* Hotel, not 5*. basic but good breakfast, large rooms with nice view but bathroom could be better: one hook for two towels, designer water tap but hard to regulate, not enough towels in gym/pool, late ckeckout paid but room not available.

Great hotel for Panama City Center! The rooms are very spacious and clean, there is a nice deck with a pool, and the gym is equipped well for a hotel gym. Our host Manuel welcomed us in a very hospitable and friendly way. Thanks again!!

The pictures online make this place look so much better than reality. The rooftop pool is nice, but tiny with zero deck space around it. They do have a good size bar in the lobby and friendly bartender. Breakfast was a joke, in the elevator there are pictures of breakfast being this big assortment of a lot of nice things. The real buffet had very few choices. Rooms are decent and the hotel is quiet. This is more like a 3 star Hotel. There are lots of nice hotels in Panama City, I'd recommend a different one.

Stayed here for two days over new years eve and the new year. Customer service was great, everyone was very attentive, food was actually pretty food. We ordered room service during our time there since most places around the area were closed for the holiday. They accommodated us with a baby crib which was great! Breakfast was not that good, it can for sure improve. The pool was pretty small compared to the pictures. The last thing I would suggest would be to notify us if housekeeping will arrive. I personally didn’t like coming into my room to find housekeeping there with me asking for it. Other than that, I wouldn’t mind staying here again.

Wonderful 5 star hotel! Worth a stay. PROS: I stayed at this hotel a year ago. It was my first visit to Panama. I'd like to say this is a wonderful hotel in a great neighbourhood. There are hotels like Wyndham above Avenida de Espana which in my opinion isn't great place. Global Hotel Panama is in walkable distance to very good restaurants, cafes, bars and shopping centres. I booked directly with the hotel and the stuff was easy to deal with. Hotel rooms are clean, much much more spacious than what you can see on the pictures. Furniture is top class which makes it a comfortable stay. Rooms' comfort and quality makes you want to stay in the hotel and don't go out! All of the rooms are on high floors so you get a guaranteed fantastic views. Hotel stuff from reception to the hotel owner (nice person!). I had some queries practically every day and stuff was very helpful and supportive. CONS: As an European I was expecting buffet style breakfast with different type of food served. In the hotel it is a menu/restaurant style type breakfast. There are 2 or 3 variations of 3 types of food. In the end you can have eggs, fajita and yogurt with coffee as your breakfast. It is a bit confusing and after 7 days repetitive. Things to improve: Swimming pool and gym need a bit of refurbishment. It is a hotel chosen by businessmen who usually need these amenities to be in top condition. Conclusion: If I go to Panama next time, I'd definitely stay at the hotel again. I wouldn't buy a breakfast.

Breakfast is included but not many choices. Check in process wasn’t good. Had to wit long for my room to be ready. The pool is not kept; no trash cans, no pool towels and pool need remodeling. The 15 floor where I was staying had a bad damn odor and rugs look dirty and wet. The room was ok with a nice city view. Housekeeping was ok: clean sheets and towel, no vacuum. Mini bar not stocked. No face towels in the room. No glasses for drinking water or wine. Staff was nice and at tentative. Overall cleanliness was good.

Very comfortable hotel you will fill safe. If you like a firm matress this hotel is good. I like pillow top matress and I slept bad for 3 nights. Front desk is helpful and they speak some English. We only had breakfast in the hotel. The food was good but little pricey for not getting good selection for your meal. Then by 9am they were out of food and they had 10 guest waiting for food to be brought out. I would stay here again rooms very updated just the bedding not right for me. Casino is about 3 blocks lots dining options 10 minute walk.

This is not a 4 star hotel max 3 star. We had to ask for towels, tea and coffee. Housekeeping totally ignored cleaning our room. They tend to ignore your needs unless you ask. Location is hidden and very quiet and dark at night. Area is dead after 7pm not convenient to walk anywhere for food or drinks you’re kinda stuck with the hotel lobby restaurant. Supervisor was a lady and not at all friendly rest of the staff was great.

Staff is very nice. The rooms are clean & generous in size. My only complaint is the room had coffee pods but both of them were decaf. My husband had the same issue 10 days earlier but didn’t catch it, so I checked when I arrived. I phoned down to get that corrected & my cousin went down because her room also had only decaf & was told they’d bring them up. A few hours later, we still didn’t have it remedied so another call down & they finally brought up the caffeinated pods for us. Also, they don’t have washcloths or hand towels & drying my face on the big bath towel felt very scratchy. I wish I’d known they didn’t have a washcloth, I’d have brought my own. Otherwise, this place is top notch. Just missed a couple steps.

Good hotel in downtown Panama near many restaurants, bars and casinos. Breakfast menu at Restaurant 54 was very limited.

  • 1/5 Etienne C. 2 years ago on Google
Nobody responds to the phone or emails. When you call it rings and then you hear an instrumental version of “I Like It” by Enrique Iglesias. Then, after a couple minutes of the music playing, the call just ends. I’m starting to think that the hotel is closed? I have a reservation there for the 17-19 of this month but if I get no answer I’ll cancel. I’m only in Panama for two days and don’t want any bad surprises.

Quality of breakfast was good, but no buffet because of COVID restrictions. Pool was great. The mirror in the bathroom could have a better light concept, since it was pretty dark. Staff was helpful and business center perfect.

My family and I just arrived home today and this was our second hotel in Panama. Honestly, I wish we had stayed at the first one. Staff: Ok, so the bell hop is the best. He should be the face of the hotel to be honest. Very attentive, friendly and overall extremely welcoming. He was amazing from the moment our car pulled in. There seemed to be only two front desk attendants a tall man and a female who were cold, stand off-ish and at times rude. Like looking at my family and I right in our faces and laughing rude. Other than one of our rooms not being ready (which honestly was not an issue because we were early) then being told we would be notified but weren't after waiting an hour, I guess they did their job. However, I would venture to say hospitality, welcoming and caring behavior is not in their job description. This was in STARK comparison to our first hotel which was actually quite disappointing as it was at the end of our trip. Rooms: The rooms, especially the corner suite delivered as far as decorum. I loved the tub and how everything separate. The view was also a plus. HOWEVER, as soon as you stepped off the elevator which continued into the room, there was a HORRIBLE moldly, wet, stuffy, old motel smell that just wouldn't go away. For someone with allergies or asthma it would be a nightmare. It made it difficult to sleep actually. Turning the air off helped a tiny bit but then the room was way too warm. Facilities: Wasn't interested in breakfast so can't speak on that. Husband and daughter ate dinner one night and were underwhelmed. My daughter actually got sick. The gym and pool were pretty cool. A fully equipped gym which was quite impressive. The pool could be considered smaller but it's proportionate to the area and with all the lounge furniture, it is actually quite relaxing! Overall: Personally would not stay again. Which is a shame because I live for nice bathrooms it this was top notch. But with staff attitude, motel smell and nasty food taken into consideration, it just doesn't make up for it. I felt more like a burden and bother than a valued guest. It truly put a damper on our vacation.

This place is amazing. The staff is great! It's affordable. The rooms are clean. They have an amazing ceaser salad for $8 (no chicken) and I took a pic of breakfast. Covid testing site was a two minute walk and the front desk staff was great at helping us find it. I am so happy we stayed here. The gym is also wonderful and the views are the best.

Loved the location of the hotel very close to a lot of landmarks in Panama City like the Mall and the FF towers. Everything was basically few dollars cap ride away. The pool was amazing with a great view. The stuff we’re very responsive and quick with all our requests.

Spectacular, modern 60 room high rise hotel with a nice pool and gym, cool view of other downtown high rises, and very convenient location walking distance to Via Argentina metro stop and numerous restaurants. Before staying at Global I was at Hilton for 3 nights and moved to Global and realized it is roughly equivalent to Hilton at close to half the price. The restaurant serves great food at fairly reasonable prices and the breakfast is great. Staff are friendly and helpful. The Nicaraguan bartender (forgot her name unfortunately) is very professional and good at her job. Definitely will stay here again on my next visit to PTY. There is an am/pm convenience store at the corner, which is useful for late night or early morning snack or beverage needs. Stayed here in March 2021 during COVID-19 pandemic place was very clean and they continued to service the rooms daily unlike some hotels. This hotel is much more affordable than the similar hotels on the waterfront - the major difference is the lack of a view of the water but you will save a lot of money by staying here relative to a place like Hilton and the location is actually in general very convenient due to proximity to the subway and waterfront is only a few blocks away anyways if you want to go there to run, jog, walk etc. Breakfast is not included but as of March 2021 was $8 for a generous breakfast with juice and coffee and the restaurant opens at 7 am. Seems like each day at breakfast they offer a Panamanian breakfast option and a “international” breakfast option, the Panamanian breakfasts I tried were good.

When I arrived they told me that check-in was two hours later; that's OK and I understood. However, they told me that I must pay immediately, which I found strange. Anyway, I paid immediately but the room wasn't ready two hours later. When they finally decided to give me the room, the pillows didn't have covers and I had to call multiple times to get someone to put clean covers on the pillows. Someone finally came three hours later and brought pillow covers. After that incident, the rest of my stay went smooth and everything was good afterwards. I didn't have any other complaint afterwards and I must note that the staff were nice.

Where to start, hotel room is nice and seems fancy the breakfast was not included and even if it was and you go for breakfast or dinner the food is horrible compared to the rest of Panama or the chefs just can’t cook eggs, salmon or even make pasta properly. Then around 5pm when I was in my room, maid just open the door, guess you must have the privacy notice on but out of all the hotels I stayed who does that, the rooms even have a doorbell. The pool is tiny but ya I guess there is the beaches. Anyways that’s my rant so for the price stay somewhere else

We stayed here for three nights and it was a real treat. Lovely people working there, beautiful views of the city and good food. I mostly loved the views from the jacuzzi and the pool. Amazing price/quality ratio.

My wife, Dora, was born in Panama and on our 50th wedding anniversary we celebrated it there and stayed at the Global Hotel. The staff and accomodations were excellent. I would highly recommend the hotel to anyone who is planning a trip there.
