The female dormitory and bathroom was neat, clean and with cool AC and hot water for the shower. The kitchen was clean and welcoming. Plenty of refrigerators to store food if you want to cook on premises. The atmosphere is chill with a few hammocks to enjoy in their backyard as well. The area is a bit noisy outside do to ongoing traffic but once indoors, the noise level is barely there. Ms. Elizabeth and the rest of the fam are very easy going, welcoming and respectful. I'm sure to return if time permits while I live in Panama. The location is perfect for different outings and there is ample transportation around.

I had a lovely two night stay at Hostal Amador Familiar. I arrived later on in the evening and Janet greeted me upon arrival. I stayed in a dorm room with A/C that was clean and had comfortable beds. There's an outdoor kitchen for use and breakfast was included. Felipe gave me advice on how to get to take a quick bus ride to the Biomuseo and the Amador causeway where you can see the Bridge of America's. The location was great, a short cab ride to casco viejo. Janet opened the kitchen at five am to offer me breakfast before my very early flight. I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely come back the next time I'm in Panama.

We had a wonderful time at the hostal. We had a private room on the third floor with air conditioning. The room was small but confortable and the matress was great. Kitchen privilages make a big difference for anyone on a budget. Breakfast was included and we made a lunch to take with us. We were usually back at the hostal to make dinner. No hugh grocery store near by so we hopped on the bus just around the corner and went to Albrook mall. Other items we just picked up at one of the 3 near by markets. We enjoyed walks down the Amador causeway. Great Kotowa coffee shop inside the Biomuseo. Buses were easy to use and there is an online application that will even tell you when the bus will be arriving at your stop. We opted to use Uber at night...cheap! The folks at Hostal Amador familiar were the best. Always so pleasant and helpful. Our 13 nights there went by quickly. It is nice go know that they are there for us on our next visit. If you want a quiet ,cool place and meet new people from all over the world, then this is the hostel to live in... The people are generous,loving and kind. It's is cheap and affordable. You can also cook your own meals so you don't need to go to the restaurants daily. It's located right across the main road. The ATMs and shops are quite near. It's 10mins to the Albrook Mall which is the largest mall in Panama. The hospitality is incredible. I highly recommend to stay here.
