The room was ok and I think this hotel is probably one of the best hotels in Santa Catalina. The food in the restaurant is disappointing though. There are almost no vegetarian options and the food isn’t that good

Beautiful hotel with an amazing view. The room are spacious and clean with a big bathroom. Th staff is nice and caring and the hotel offers daily activities like yoga or jujitsu. It is a bit outside of the main village which is not a problem as you can easily walk there in 10 minutes. Only thing is when you are dropped out of the bus in the center you have to walk with all your luggage there which can be a hustle especially in rainy season. A shuttle service would be a nice add-on!

Mediocre at best. The room we reserved (a “triple”) was not what we were given (a “double,” having been told one of their other guests checked out late and the maid was no longer available to clean that room!); the restaurant, although the food was good, ran out of food, was very slow, and did not plan adequately for guests; and the communication from management was terrible. We are leaving a day early. I think if other reviews were honest I would have expected less and perhaps known what I was getting into, instead of the disappointment I ran into. Ask, buyer beware-the prices posted on their webpage were lower than when I received the bill! Double check what you are getting into, there are other really nice options in Santa Catalina!

Hotel Santa Catalina is simply a great place to stay. The service is superb, all staff treats you like family. Its proximity to COIBA makes it ideal for divers looking for spectacular scuba diving.

We went to the bar to watch a World Cup match and the staff refused us the Wifi password as we were not staying at the resort - such a strange policy. It did leave a sour feeling, like we were not worthy of the wifi as we were only buying drinks at the bar.

On our one week vacation in Panama, three days was at Hotel Santa Catalina. PROS: - We are vegan and met one of the owners who stated she is dairy free. She was very nice, and accommodating to our lifestyle. She definitely made my experience top notch. - The views are beautiful. I learned that Santa Catalina is a surfing destination and I could see why. Sitting on the patio at the restaurant was so beautiful, especially at sundown. - We took a boat ride to Coiba island, and this hotel was within a four minute drive of where we met our tour guide. - I forgot to bring my rash guard with me on my trip, and was so thankful they had a surf shop at the hotel so I could purchase one. - Next to the pool is a little pathway to the ocean. - Although I personally didn’t go in the pool, it was a beautiful pool and it looked fun. CONS: - The air conditioner even when off kept running. It was freezing in the room, and the blankets weren’t thick so we used beach towels as added comfort. I really loved the atmosphere of this hotel, it wasn’t too big to feel crowded. It was very quaint. I did find three crabs in our room the morning that we were leaving, but the owner even said they can get in. I didn’t feel scared, as I knew they couldn’t climb but I wanted to watch out for my toes. This isn’t about hotel Santa Catalina, but to whoever reads this, be aware the drive in is bumpy. We were driving under the speed limit, and still trying to avoid hitting cows, dogs and horses. It is recommended to use the restroom and get gas in Santiago, as there are no gas stations from that point on (it was about a 2 hour drive if I recall correctly).

Stayed in hotel Santa Catalina for four nights. Once you are here you simply don’t want to leave. The view from the pool is stunning and the staff is great. They provide free kayaks/surfboards and bikes and there ia a great restaurant on the property. If we get the opportunity we will return without a doubt.

Walkable to center of town (15min). Clean rooms but had an ant problem. Pool is excellent and the staff were friendly. Family friendly hotel, there were some children. The restaurant was average. If I’m back in Santa Catalina I will stay here again.

Spacious and nicely designed rooms with very comfy beds. The garden is beautiful and the pool with a view of the pacific ocean a perfect spot to relax. Staff is very friendly and helped us with various questions right away. The offer a great amount of activities and tours. Payment by card is possible but they charge 10% for that which is way above average even in Panama (our max before that was 7%). The restaurant is nice but could offer a greater choice of vegetarian options.

Hotel Santa Catalina is a gem. Beautiful, clean rooms. Friendly, accommodating staff. The hotel is situated right in front of one of the most popular surfing breaks, which you can see and watch the professional surfers on, from the incredibly beautiful hotel pool area and restaurant. It is also situated a short walk from the beach where more beginner surfers can take one of the hotels free surfboards and learn to surf or just surf for fun! The food is great. We rode free hotel bicycles around town one day as well - real nice way to see the town, which is small but has all you need. Heading out? Eat at the hotel restaurant or Boutiki or SASY or Pinguinos for a Lobster and sunset! The hotel also hosts an incredible sunset view. We'll be back!

Last leg of road in was very, very bad. Food and service very good and reasonable. Apparently paying on line is doesn't really happen so payment at hotel. Rooms ok, Wifi spotty at best. You are on your own setting up island tour. Seems like hotel and surrounding area haven't fully recovered from covid economic impact.

We came here for the food and it wasn’t good at all. I ordered the octopus and the octopus was bland. No flavor. No seasoning. My friend got the chicken and it was also super bland. My partner ordered the shrimp and the sauce was extremely salty.

Overpriced for what you get. The food is expensive, the rooms are expensive. The one benefit is they have their own generator so the airconditioning in the room stays on whatever happens. The (free) bikes are not in a very good state. The restaurant does not offer any vegetarian options.

If you are lucky enough to get a room here, this is the absolute best place to stay in Santa Catalina. The owners and the staff are some of the best people we have ever met, all over the world! The food is excellent, and sometimes we forgot just how remote this place as we enjoyed amazing plates of food and drinks by the Infiniti pool looking at waves rifle down the point. Highly highly recommend - we would give Hotel Santa Catalina 6 stars if we could. We will be back!

Great location, right by the ocean with a beautiful pool overlooking the beach and forest. It's situated about 15 minutes walk from the village and far enough to have a sense of seclusion and away from the crowd. Rooms are spacious, rustic, and minimally furnished. The restaurant is open-air, very spacious and great for lounging and enjoying a drink and the view. The food is so-so, but that's Panama.

We only stayed 4 nights out of our week stay due to the change in flights. The staff was quick to arrange our transportation to the airport. The owner John and his family made us feel at home. Best surf sessions I had in years. Pescao Restaurant by the pool is our favorite place in Panama. Planning to be back for two weeks next March.
