Phenomenal stay, central location to everything I wanted to see. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Oliver was a godsend, very kind and knowledgeable and always willing to assist. The hotel was beautifully maintained and very clean. The room was a nice size with a large bathroom and waterfall shower. My bed was very comfortable and I was able to get a good nights sleep every night. I had no issues with any other guests being noisy or disruptive. And as a solo female traveler, I felt very safe both in the hotel and the neighborhood. Would recommended 10/10

Hector & Gin (check in counter) are amazing in welcoming and accommodating WHITE PEOPLE. I am amazed by their welcoming demeanor towards white people. But to people of color like us, they are rude and would talk bad about you in Spanish for asking for stuff that you actually paid for, thinking that you don't understand words they are saying. I was asking for my room at 3 PM and 5 PM (I am not even unreasonable as these are normal check in times) and would treat me rudely but then I see them smile and accomodate other guests nicely when they are white. Hector even went out of his way to hug two white guests. To be fair to the others, everyone else is great - the doorman to the valet attendant are very helpful and we are grateful for their treatment of us. The restaurant host is absolutely lovely and the servers in the restaurant are very friendly. Rooms are clean, smells good all the time and the cleaners are very respectful. I recommend this hotel despite of our bad check in experience. To the management - please train your staff in treating guests equally. I appreciate the gesture of the manager sending us an apology card but at the end of the day, it is a very racist experience.

I've been a Diamond member for 16 years, with plenty of hotel stays under my belt. This particular Waldorf, unfortunately, ranks as the worst premium hotel I've experienced. Upon arrival at 11am after a grueling 15-hour journey from Europe, Jeremy, the check-in staff, displayed a discourteous attitude. He simply gestured towards lobby sofas, instructing us to sit and wait. Surprisingly, no refreshments, not even water or wifi-code, were offered. We waited for nearly 2.5 hours before being presented with a standard room. Despite our Diamond status, there was no acknowledgment, no upgrade, no welcome letter—just the inclusion of free breakfast. Frustrated, we opted to check out early the next day and switch to Hilton. The difference was stark: Friendly Staff that graciously upgraded us to a spacious suite, welcome gift, and accommodated us with early check-in and late check-out. In conclusion, avoid Waldorf and go for Hilton. Based on my experience, it would be more fitting for Waldorf to be rebranded as a DoubleTree. I have conveyed my detailed feedback to the management and they did not even bother to response.

Wonderful stay! Highly recommend. The rooms are spacious and quiet, the service is spectacular, the rooftop pool is luxurious. The hotel is located near prime attractions and within walking distance to local eateries. The hotel breakfast buffet is one of the best I've been to in a long time.

Wonderful stay. Spacious rooms. Amazing service. The pool was awesome. Large gym. I asked for the afternoon tea to be made vegetarian and they accommodated me. Excellent staff who go above and beyond.

The Waldorf Astoria in Panama is incredible. Although the building is not that big, the service, and quality are outstanding. From the Valet Parking to the Receptionist, every one in this hotel is only focused on one thing… making your stay unforgettable. I want to give a special thanks to Carlos and Edwin who were so great, I had to come back!

The experience at this hotel has been horrible . The worst customer service I have received in my life .If you’re looking for a five star hotel please save your trip and visit the serval others within less than a mile. I even recommend going to the other lower star Hilton customer service is better and you will enjoy your stay . From the moldy smell that has affected my allergies to the point I couldn’t sleep and the worst customer service I ever experienced it has completely ruined my birthday vacation. So if you’re looking to celebrate something special or to even be treated respectfully please go somewhere else.

From the free Mimosa at check-in to the great service at check-out, this was a great stay. Great location, welcoming and helpful staff, beautiful room, I could not have asked for anything better. Great food and drinks were definitely a added bonus. When I return I will refuse to stay anywhere else., looking forward to my next visit.

Wonderful Spanish pállela that tastes like home. Thank you front desk staff for a warm and helpful presence.

My wife and I stayed at the Waldorf Astoria from 9/9/22-9/13/22 in a king deluxe city view room. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the hotel and the country overall, despite my wife getting a stomach virus on our last full day there (also her birthday). The staff went above and beyond to make her feel comfortable and showed genuine concern about her. ROOM: Clean, looked like the pictures, missing one bathrobe and no slippers. Great view of the skyline, STAFF: Oliver- A phenomenal human being, that is kind, thoughtful, funny, engaging, helpful and provides exemplary customer service. William- Very personable, friendly, helpful, thoughtful and kind. He organized a breakfast birthday surprise for my wife and showed so much concern for her feeling better. Exemplary customer service. Karla- Breakfast manager- Very personable and kind. She went out of her way to make sure I had food and drinks to take back to the room when my wife was too sick to make it down and asked one of the staff to escort me back up to the room. Provides exemplary customer service. While all of the staff at the hotel provide excellent customer service, the individuals that I mentioned went out of their way to make us feel like family and I will remember them always! I would recommend this hotel for a relaxing and first-class experience in the beautiful Panama City. Can’t wait to return!!

I am really happy I picked the Waldorf for my first time in Panama City. The hotel was awesome. Such a nice property with nice, clean rooms. My room had a huge balcony. The breakfast buffet had a ton of stuff. They had a small pool on around the 8th floor that went to 5 feet. I liked how safe and walkable the neighborhood was around the hotel. There were a number of good restaurants nearby. I also found a good coffeeshop and market. It was also an inexpensive cab or Uber away from other parts of the city. I would stay here again.

I want to start out by saying this hotel was truly the worst hotel experience I have ever had. There are so many very nice five star hotels in Panama city. This is NOT one of them. It's very run down, the rooms are dirty (I had food on the floor in my first room) and it smells awful. I would highly recommend choosing a property like the W across the street. We toured it and it's beautiful. I am a world traveler holding Diamond Hilton Status and I've never seen a hotel so poorly and dishonesly ran. The Supervisor Hector is not only Dishonest but very mean to his staff as well as to the guests. I asked one staff why he was so mean and they responded "I don't know I'm sorry". He actually went out of his way to be cruel. Please, please do not stay at this hotel.

We always stay one month a year at the Waldorf, excellent location, close to renowned specialty coffee shops, restaurants and an impressive view of ships awaiting their transit through the Panama Canal. The attention of the staff is incomparable, you feel at home, the rooms are always clean. We rent it trough Ocean Two Properties SA.

From when I arrived, I was greeted warmly by Oliver who ensured that my check in went smooth. While I waited for my room to be reviewed, he prepared a tasty mimosa so that I was refreshed. He walked me through the aspects of my room before leaving. Johanna, the attendant who cared for my room was so kind, thorough, and went above and beyond to make my room and stay comfortable. There was some repairs being done on my floor and while I wasn't impacted, I received a kind card from the staff offering their apologies along with some treats. They even offered to let me use another room to shower since my floor was without water for a few hours. The breakfast buffet was a bit pricey but the selection and quality of the food was phenomenal. The pool and hot tub was very comfortable and the bar food was delicious and well worth the price. The room service staff was quick and efficient. The bar staff made some amazing piña coladas. I highly recommend this hotel.

Oliver is great! He is the all knowing person to help you. The service and staff were good. We did have some ice delivery issues because the ice machine was not working on our floor. A few times it took multiple requests to get ice. Great location. Do use the metro and do walk to the water front. Use the pedestrian bridges to cross the streets. You can ask Oliver for more info. Nice Hilton property with great location.

Nice hotel in the city center of Panama. The room was nice, and the staff were friendly. The breakfast was really good with a lot of options, can choose if you want to sit outside or inside to eat. Is not the best Hilton brand I have been to, expected more since it was a Waldorf brand. Not complaining, just had higher expectations. Would recommend this hotel to friends.

Waldorf is not what it used to be. The bedding is old, comforter had a cigarette burn in it, carpet old. We were upgraded to a nicer room, I was excited to have a tub after two weeks of travel with only showers. The tub drain plug wouldn’t stay down to fill the tub. The hotel is fine, just not exceptional. More of a business travel hotel.

So many issues with this hotel. There are a handful of nice staff, however come with low expectations, particularly if you are expecting any form of luxury - just go to a boutique hotel instead. I spent five days by the pool and the waiter came over once - in five days, only after I spent days with no service and let the front desk know. Some things were unclean, but most importantly they will try to absolutely take advantage of their customers at every little point financially. I will not stay at an Astoria again, one of my friends had mentioned there was no actual luxury associated with the hotel and I can now see that. Very 2-3 star unfortunately.

I’ve stayed at the Hilton Astoria twice; their customer service, cleanliness, and wonderful employees make the stay so pleasant. The rooms are clean and the common areas are very nice. The food is delicious and their team is excellent. Our room was cleaned daily and they called our room to ask how they could improve our stay every day.

  • 5/5 Joseph J. 1 year ago on Google
My stay was excellent. I have no complaints. The rooms were clean, the breakfast was great. I would recommend to anyone. The Waldorf lived up to the name! The mini bar is over priced. The location was a $3-6 uber to most attractions in the area.

Incredible hotel! The staff made the experience memorable. 5 star customer service. Dialin, Wilfredo, Karla, William, Eladio, Patty, Oliver were awesome to me during my visit. The location is prime and the food was great.

Overall a good experience. Located on a semi-quiet street in the banking district. Staff was friendly. Our room wasn’t ready yet when we arrived an hour and a half early so they held our luggage while we went to lunch. We had the patio room which was very spacious and had amazing views. However, it wasn’t a 5 star room in my experience. It was a little run down and lacking in overall cleanliness and aesthetic. We had a couples massage - I got a prenatal and my partner had deep tissue. My parental was ok. Nothing special. I had much better for the same price ($160!!) in Mexico. My partner loved his deep tissue though. The pool is alright. Again, lacking a bit in cleanliness and the water was cold. Jacuzzi was like a warm bath, not hot. I would try a different five star hotel if I come back to Panamá.

I stayed at the Astoria in Panama from 1/13-1/16. The Experience here was unpleasant. The nicest people were the welcome team at the door entrance. For such a prestige hotel every unhappy with the customer service, location and views of the hotel. Even the phone in our room didn’t work. On 1/13 when we checked in the older guy that checked us in, apparently he was the supervisor had a bit of an attitude. I told him we are here for my cousin birthday. Please put us in a nice room and it’s great views. He said sure just to cut me off. We get upstairs and this is our view. Nasty, unpleasant view oh an building, attached is a picture. I went back downstairs to talk to the guy to see what can be done and he automatically shut me off and said no rooms available to change at all with a nasty attitude. I proceeded to ask him to set something up for our room for my cousin birthday. He showed me away like a fly and told me to just go to the concierge. The TV is very old, no Netflix, app options or anything. The light in the closet is not working. lights through the hotel is yellow. Also the water is not hot. It’s very lukewarm. For me to leave such a lengthy review just know this stay in the hotel was not pleaseant at all.

Absolutely great reception by staff. The room was perfectly clean and very well appointed, with the largest balcony I've ever seen in a hotel room! Great location and great experience!

My stay at the Waldorf was amazing they deserve a 20/5 to be honest. The staff and customer service 8/5 everyone was helpful nice and polite. Front desk and concierge, restaurant staff goes above and beyond. I’ve called ask questions and they have helped in every way possible. The room, pool and restaurant was so nice. I would definitely come back.

Positive: Staff were pleasant and very friendly and the food was good. Negative: A little saddened by the lack of care from booking a room with Amex. One robe and 2 slippers were missing from room and no Amex treat until prompted. Amex offers late check-out and the room key was cancelled upon returning around 1 pm. A couple days after check out I noticed an additional charge on the credit card. Was charged for a missing drink from the mini fridge. Never took anything from the mini fridge. While all of these were corrected, it was a nuisance to have to constantly go ask the front desk for the corrections and then call to get the additional charge reversed. Other details: Gym: neatly kept. Pool: Nice pool, but water was merky looking. Restaurant: Excellent buffet breakfast and pleasant staff in the morning. Evening staff were not pleasant but the food was good. Front desk: staff very friendly and pleasant and helpful.

Fabulous hotel, great location and service was actually fantastic, very friendly and attentive staff. The only reason I don't give them 5 stars for service is because we asked repeatedly and to different people about couple massage packages and everyone neglected to tell us that September had a special that we could have taken advantage of, when instead we decided against the massages because of the high price tag. A shame. Hopefully they correct this customer service faux pas.

Phenomenal experience at Waldorf Astoria. The service, the room, and the location were all top notch! It is centrally located to get you anywhere in the city. They have different food options on premises and a nice pool with a Jacuzzi. Their room service was twice as day.

Overall a good experience. Some of the service was hit or Miss but I did appreciate the Concierge making that right. The breakfast is nice and the staff is super attentive. The spa is five stars and the best part of the experience. Four stars because the hotel really needs updating. And some service initially was tough but made right

I am a HiltonHonors member. I have 94 stays through our stay at this property during the beginning of July 2023. We stayed at this property via the American Express FHR promotion. I feel like I wasted my FHR benefit for 2023 after our stay. The hotel location and rooms were great. The room was spacious, the air conditioner worked great and the room was in fine condition. The lobby was clean and inviting. Although we only received coffee to go from the breakfast restaurant, the area looked nice. The service provided by the staff was somewhere between a Hampton Inn and Hilton Garden Inn. The nicest most helpful staff members were the young lady at the breakfast area who helped us get coffee to go and the bartender. But unfortunately the bar tender appeared to have to cover the waiter, server and dish clean up person. This is not a Waldorf Astoria experience based on my stays at other properties.

Waldorf Astoria Panamá is one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. I visited from July 5-11. I believe that the staff makes this hotel a 10/10. I must tell you about a few people that made this trip amazing. William Smith was one of the best!!! He was so pleasant every morning and night. His personality and attention to detail is something I will never forget. Deilyn Morales (Prima) was just a delight. She has such a welcoming and contagious smile. She always was there to greet us for breakfast. She always made certain that we were happy. FLASH!! He was part of security. We had to call him several times because of my mistakes..LOL. Every time I called, he came running with pleasure. He always had a smile on his face and was happy to help. I would see him periodically walking the hotel to make sure everything was running smoothly. He made us feel safe. Oliver/Oscar greeted us upon arrival and gave us options for the best restaurants in Panamá . He was always pleasant.

I stayed here to celebrate my birthday! I was a little nervous when reading the other reviews, but I am so happy I stuck with my choice! We really enjoyed our time here! The customer service was amazing! Each person was friendly and engaged in genuine conversation! I have to shout out Lille at Concierge, it was a true pleasure to meet her! The breakfast was great, better than I expected and the room was beautiful! They definitely made me feel special as the birthday girl! When I came back to my room, turndown service included a sweet treat and the staff brought another treat and sang to me at breakfast! The only downfall was the pool, it was kind of lackluster and the hot tub was lukewarm at best. But I would definitely visit again!

The service was the best! Huge shout out to Oliver at the front who always made our day brighter with his offers to help and encouragement to just have a fantastic day! He was a bright spot of our stay. Also Carla and the Chef at the omelette station were amazing. Always helpful and accommodating. Rooms looked out on the street and other buildings (sometimes that felt too close for comfort). But it was clean and had beautiful amnesties. The last day we had room service and it was some of the best food we had during our 7 days stay. The cleaning staff were incredible and always kept things above and beyond our expectations. Overall, I really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend. Posted a pic of the Panamanian lunch special that was perfect size for us.

The service was decent, but the hotel was far from the requirements of an American Express Fine Hotel and Resort. The hotel needs to be updated big time. The carpet was funky, the windows had a ton of algae on them, so much so that you could barely see outside. The hotel was not busy yet it took 1.5 hours to get simple food sent to the room. Naturally, that food was very cold by the time it made it to me. The breakfast was similar to Holiday Inn Express’ just slightly more elevated. The views were okay. Overall I would not stay here again.

  • 4/5 A S. 7 months ago on Google
First, I would love to say the service and ppl at this hotel is first class, they are all incredible. Every single person. Even room service, turn down, everything is great. The lady at the concierge’s desk is the best person. She’s great. My issue is the hotel, atleast by the rooms are old and it smells old. It has a moldy smell once you get near the rooms and in the rooms. I don’t know if it can be fixed, but it’s noticeable. For it to be a Waldorf, I didn’t expect that. Other than that, the experience was great. Location is great also.

  • 2/5 Jnd 8 months ago on Google
Overwhelming smell of mold as soon as we stepped onto the elevator. 17th floor hallway and both of our rooms smelled of mold. Had difficulty falling asleep with the overwhelming mold smell. 2 of the 3 nights we were also awakened by random alarms in the hallway. Asked front desk and she said it was probably due to electrical problems and hopefully won’t happen again. Unfortunately it happened again. Makes all the luxuries irrelevant if a hotel can’t even provide the most basic function of sleep and didn’t care when told about the problem. Hotel was beautiful with marble everywhere. Breakfast was wonderful. Spanish restaurant (where breakfast is served) was not good. Lobby bar restaurant was quite good. But we need sleep and we couldn’t get good sleep. So all the other positives are pointless if we end up walking around like zombies due to lack of sleep.

  • 2/5 Anton 7 months ago on Google
As pointed out by someone else, this hotel is not on par with the American Express Fine and Luxury hotels, the rooms urgently need an update, the windows don't close completely and their entertainment system feels like it's from the 80's. The elevators are old as well. Starting from the get go, I had an issue for them to pick me up at the airport since while booking the airport pickup I put the wrong date, but I was only staying for one night, so I would have expected that the concierge would remind me that the dates were incorrect, so after waiting for 1 hour I had to look for other options. What surprised me most when I arrived at the hotel was that no apologies/compensation was offered. They seem to think it was totally my fault, and my mistake to have assumed the concierge would be as good as my previous experiences with other hotels/Amex. Now to the good part, the upgrade was given to a room with a terrace (but since it was pouring rain, I had no use for it) the food was meh, the waiters were all too busy doing nothing and had to wait for 10 minutes to get a simple coffee. The SPA was the highlight as well as the tour that I booked and paid out of pocket for turned out what saved the day. For a country that rains 7-8 months a year, I was surprised to hear that they didn't have umbrellas for guests to borrow. 5 star hotel?? Definitely far far from it. Coming back? Definitely not. Too many better options in the same area, they better up their game if they want to compete in this cut throat city.

Me and my fiancé spent some days here and let me just say our stay was “AMAZING”!! They made my fiancé feel very special this week for his birthday and the service was outstanding. The pool is nice, the food was super tasty and the drinks was so good. The room we had was spacious with a balcony that over saw the city. We will most definitely be coming back whenever we vacation in Panama. We enjoyed our entire stay.

A+ staff - especially Gina, Oscar, and Oliver. Wonderful, wonderful. Hotel smells amazing - even through masks. We felt clean, safe, and well taken care of the whole stay. The rooms were great save for a bit of noise from the air conditioner unit (?) but other than that, I never heard anything from any other room. Quiet and relaxing. I would recommend and return in a heartbeat.

Not the greatest stay if you are looking for the usual services/amenities but staff did their best to make up for it - USB ports are not working so have your own converter handy if you want to charge your phone - Room was clean but it’s definitely not an ocean front property - Zero room service for “COVID reasons” yet they have a fully operational restaurant downstairs…I don’t see how it’s safer to dine at a restaurant so probably they’re cutting costs The positives: - They did offer us a different room however it was more or less the same - They agreed to extend our check out time which was helpful

I would recommend anyone traveling to Panama City to stay at the Waldorf Astoria! You will not have a better hotel experience elsewhere. I will travel again to Panama and when I do the Waldorf will always be my HOME HOTEL!❣️❣️

Had a great experience here! Rooms were very clean and service was spectacular. AMEX card benefits were an added plus. Food at the restaurant was very good for breakfast and dinner, and I'm usually pretty picky. Didn't go to the spa or pool so no comments on those. Recommend staying here and would return again!

The Waldorf Astoria conjures a certain idea of service and class when you think of it.  The Waldorf Panama does not deliver on that vision to be a 5 star hotel.  This is more of a 3.5 possibly 4.  It was a very disappointing stay from check-in not available at 2:30pm for Diamond Member to the small rooms. The breakfast service is great, the lunch time and evening services are pretty bad. Very slow service when not busy but good value for the price. Again, to be a 5 star hotel, the hotel is very lacking in luxury and feeding off the WA name without the service. The pool is ok. The gym is nice but dates as well. The rooms are very basic but clean (but all hotels should be clean). I'm a Diamond member and used points to stay here thank goodness.  The hotel is dated a bit and while nice,  it is no where near 5 star nice based on the level of service.  The concierge reached out to me via email before my arrival. I responded via email leading up to my stay regarding excursions and never heard back from anyone. I checked out and continued my stay at the W a few blocks away. If you're looking for options in the area, check out the Hilton Panama or the W Panama. Both would be better than the Waldorf.

Normally, I love Waldorf. But this time I encountered a employee who just wasn't in it. The property is nice, the breakfast amazing and location great. Unfortunately at checkin, i wasn't given any information about dining, breakfast or the pool. Would have been a shame to miss that breakfast. The room is fine, bigger than Central Hotels but smaller than Global Hotel. The shower is a bit awkward and narrow and the wardrobe is behind the entrance, making it weird to take of your shoes and going past that. I had a problem with the airco, which was met with annoyance when i called it in. It was dealt with swiftly and properly however. Often I find the Waldorf service worth the higher price point, but not on this occasion. Would not book again, but go to Central Hotel for the service and kindness or Global Hotel for space and friendliness

Top-notch service and room. Definitely a nice property and deserves to be included in the American Express FHR program. My four-star rating is because of its restaurant (the hotel doesn’t have a lounge btw)- although breakfast is nice, the dinner service is slow and the food is not great. This hotel should have a restaurant that is on the same level of its service.

Good in many ways: location ( just 2 blocks from Cinta costera, amazing place to run/walk) , attention, food (amazing) and hhonors benefits (they really tried to impress - like special menu in your check-out date) I specially enjoyed breakfast because of the good food and people working there to make you smile. I think Hotel needs some updates and focus in cleaning. Not big deal , I liked to stay there.

This is a wonderful hotel. It does show it's age a little bit however it's super clean. The staff is amazing. The breakfast buffet wonderful. Housekeeping staff are the best. People complain about the small pool, however it's not that small and we have never seen many people there. It's an elegant place to call home for a few nights and even though it's super modern and new, it has that wonderful, homy feeling, luxurious and wonderful

We spent 5 nights at this Waldorf Astoria. The service is very good. All the employees are willing to help. One bellmen even walked us to a restaurant down the street because it was a bit tricky to find. The room was spacious and very clean. Breakfast was tasty. The restaurant food was ok, but there are much better places to eat near by. Lille the concierge can give you suggestions.

Wonderful vacation spot! All staff were very nice and helpful. You must meet Flash, he is definitely an all-star. Edwin and Flash helped us resolve an issue with a tour that we booked with another vendor. They exceeded our expectations!

Beautiful hotel with quiet and relaxed atmosphere. Every single staff member, independent of its position, is very warm and attentive, the way you would expect it from this type of hotel. The lobby, hotel floors and rooms are pleasantly designed and decorated. You really feel welcome and leave with a good feeling and I would definitely return on my next stay in Panama.

This is one of the best places to stay in all of Paname. The location is central to every where. The staff is excellent and everyone is very helpful! We stayed 4 nights here and it was the best decision we ever made! Their breakfast was the best. Not free around $29 but was really good. Rooms were excellent and they made sure me and a friend get rooms next to each other. Be careful with the goodies inside the room as they are pretty expensive. Ended up paying additional $200.. :-) Overall the best place and in future would be staying here only!

After a long ✈️, and numerous changes, it was so wonderful to receive A-1 service from the moment we were met by the staff, primarily Oliver(the invaluable & Knowledgeable host). The rooms were impeccable, and the meals were exceptional 😀. After pre-planning our stay to include other ventures, we quickly realized how much we missed the extraordinary service from the Waldorf. Once again...especially Oliver, which made us feel "right at home". His expertise was a natural gift. I HIGHLY recommend this hotel to anyone desiring "the BEST".

Outstanding room view. The service was just okay. We had dinner at Alley restaurant and the service was aweful. The waiter didn't know what he was doing. Took one item orders at a time. The rest of the staff were good. Matiz breakfast was great. Food was very good although it was buffet style. I'm not a buffet style type of girl. Nonetheless, it was good. The location is close to restaurants but everything closes at 8pm. It's in the financial district so being from NYC, I get it. The pool is underwhelming and doesn't look or feel clean. Overall, I was expecting more!

I am currently staying in this hotel. On a scale of 1 to 10. This hotel is a 4. The pictures on their website are extremely misleading. I was under the impression that my room would have a balcony and it did not. I was going to book a less expensive room, but I decided to go with a more expensive room because the picture of the room showed a balcony. However, the pictures were very misleading and I was told by The Supervisor "the pictures don't matter, only the description of the room". I was told only one of the JR Suites had a balcony and that room is currently occupied and that I should not rely on the pictures of the room. The Supervisor then told me that the guest is going to check out the following day and that I could have that room. The next day, around 4 pm I was told that the room was not ready, when I called to check on the room an hour later, I was told that the room had major water damage and that they can't do anything about it. I totally understand, but what I did not understand was The Supervisor's lack of care, concern, and customer service. The supervisor offered free breakfast, which is not acceptable, then I was offered one massage, when there is one other person with me. I don't understand how a luxury hotel can be so cheap and not offer anything to accommodate both guest in the room. In my experience, if the room that was booked is not available, you are usually granted an upgrade ( which they had available ) or something comparable to the money you are spending( 1 massage for both guest, not just one guest) The breakfast here is $42 for two people. I am spending $450 more with this room, so offering breakfast is insulting. The concierge is very nice and the housekeeping department is has been great,. This has been the absolute worst experience during my birthday trip. I will never recommend this hotel to anyone. PLEASE AVOID THIS HOTEL.

This is a well located hotel with many restaurants nearby and close to the waterfront. Fifteen minutes to Old Town with cab. Rooms are elegant and spacious. The amenities are excellent. The concierge makes great recommendations. The bellmen are very kind and attentive. Front desk staff could be a bit more engaging and provide more info. The breakfast is exceptional. Elevators works well. Pool are is nice. The take good care of their Diamond members.

A very pleasant stay in Panama City with great amenities. Complimentary extraordinary buffet breakfast with local dishes and beverages. The pool area with hot tub filled with sea water was very refreshing and relaxing. The spa, at an additional cost, is well worth the visit with relaxing and rewarding spa treatments such as reflexology and more. What impressed me the most was the outstanding customer service by the front desk staff, concierge, valet, bar/restaurant staff and spa staff. Everyone is friendly and very accommodating to the needs of the guests. The hotel is located in an area with a lot of things to do within walking distance. But if you don't want to walk, the downtown and old town area are a short drive away.

I am not really sure why people have given this place such bad reviews. I’ve stayed and more hotels in my life than I care to admit and hands down, this was the most friendly and helpful staff I have ever experienced. I was absolutely blown away at how kind they all were from the valet to the front desk to the wait staff. All the people complaining must have been at a different hotel because this was the Waldorf experience and then some. Also, I am a Diamond member and the perks were wonderful.

I had a very decent 2 night stay here as a Diamond Member. The staff are all very friendly and professional. Breakfast buffet is quite good with excellent attention and service. Evening bar is pleasant with well prepared martinis. Only recommendations for improvement would be for the rooms to be updated (carpet is from a different era) and housekeeping to be a bit more attentive to details. Otherwise, everything was great and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

The hotel could use some TLC, the shower made noise when turning on and off and the paint was chipped in few places inside the rooms. The location could be better as well. The drive up to the hotel wasn’t very pretty or exciting. The service was excellent as was the breakfast buffet.

The best stay the City of Panama can provide. The hotel staff is professional and everything you would expect from a 5 star hotel. Available to help at any hour with information and amenities. We were dealing with an injury and staff was able to deliver bandages up to our room in minutes. Truly above and beyond. Breakfast is fresh and delicious with wide assortments. Dinner was a spectacular experience in Spanish cuisine. Be warned the paella is MASSIVE. The picture shows a serving listed for two people. This is one of 2 hotels in the city listed as a fine hotel and resort via AMEX but having stayed at the others, I can confirm this is the only one that lived up to expectations. Will be returning!

Stayed there for one night for a staycation. The room we got was spacious and clean. The building itself felt old, the pool area needed maintenance. The rooms are not super soundproof, the sliding doors for the bathroom makes a lot of noise. The service provided by the staff was great.

We stayed at the Waldorf Astoria, Panama at a junior suite for 2 nights as a couple. The room was very big, with a nice bathroom. The staff all around was very nice and attentive (thanks to William especially). There are multiple offers and choices regarding food, the breakfast buffet was great too. Only negative point would be the view from the pool and the rooms. There are unfortunately big skyscrapers in front.
