Everything was literally abandoned. We arrived at 9:15 pm, after a long trip, and without the luggage (air company didn't deliver it). We kindly asked for some food, and they said restaurant was already closed (at 9:15?!). We had to insist in order to get some food. No room Service available after 9:30 as well! No minibar in your room, no free water, no possibility to get any food or beverages from the automatic machine, as it was empty and off. Dirty trays on the alley, phone was removed from the wall, moldy smell everywhere. The receptionist and restaurant "manager" cashier were rude and impolite. When I commented at reception that the place was basically abandoned, the receptionist said "yes, it's abandoned!" My gf was with me, and can confirm as well. Stay away from this place! Oh, the Casino?! It's not even inside the hotel... Pathetic! I should sue the hotel and Booking, because they allow this kind of "hotels" to stay on their platform. When I asked to Booking for a refund, they told me it was not possible...

This hotel is handy in that it is less than 5 min from the airport. The desk staff were all excellent, friendly and very helpful. The rooms are fine, but pretty basic...no fridge, no coffee maker. The courtyard is very nice, with a great pool. The restaurant is not great at all, and the service was pretty poor. Overall, it'll do for a night, but not much more than that.

Waited 4 hours for our room. Noisy leaf blower at the pool. They also burned leaves, so it was smokey. The restaurant menu is not a highlight, went to eat elsewhere. Breakfast buffet is OK. Shuttle bus goes only every hour. Bus driver made an exception for us, but other guests took a taxi to get to the airport. Overall the service is not so great. Rooms are newly renovated though. But no fridge in room. Also some room doors looked damaged as if break ins where done or attempted. Didn't feel safe to us.

Stayed again and service is still horrible. Get more front desk support.....room phone doesn't work to call reception so i used my cellular. No answer ever..... Wanted to order food only to find you cant order any outside service. You are held captive to eat what they want to sell you. Im so unhappy with this place. I cannot ever recommend it. Its bad.

Perfect location close to Tocumen Airport. Pet friendly including cats in certain rooms. Just make sure to inform them that you are bringing pets at booking. Front desk staff are fantastic, super helpful, and are bilingual. The rooms are clean and have all the basic necessities. Pool area is enormous and has many palm trees, swim up bar, fresh towels, and good restaurant service. There is a casino next door and a few malls just 5 mins down the road. Included breakfast was pretty good with decent hot and cold items. We will stay again.

Getting the shuttle back to the hotel at 10:30 at night didn't happen!!! We waited thirty minutes and called three times. No one ever answered. Ended up having to take a taxi who ripped us off $19 to go that short distance to the hotel. Told the front desk guy and he didn't seem to care or offer an apology. The shuttle to the airport is great. The rooms really need a do over.

Staff are very attentive, the pool is nice. It’s better option to wait for flight than vip rooms. There is a free transfer and the day use was U$93,50 for a couple.

I appreciate how close this hotel is to the airport! The rooms were not the best, but they were doable for an overnight stay! Customer care could improve, and better judgment Evaluation extended to the service agents would provide a better experience for all clients.

We missed our flight and needed to have a close place to sleep for the night. This place is absolutely amazing. I would definitely vacation here. Very beautiful place and the young man at the front desk was extremely helpful and kind!

It is 10 mins from the airport, a very nice hotel, and an awesome breakfast service. Me and my wife stayed one night for 90 dollars, to catch our flight the next morning.

Can't say that we would return to this hotel. There were huge bugs that looked like cockroaches in the rooms, crawling on the bed, walls and floor. We smashed about 3 or 4 of them. We were so freaked out that we ended up pulling the bed away from the headboard so they weren't able to crawl into bed with us! They only stock the rooms for 2 people, while we had 3 guests. Not to mention the hot and cold handles on the shower are backwards making them labeled incorrectly. The pool bar is only open Friday-Sunday, which we were really bummed to find out. They have a great pool area though. The restaurant food is nothing to rave about. For $180 a night, we felt it was not worth the price.

Nice and comfortable near the airport. A very relaxing atmosphere especially the pool area. Great place to relax during a long layover. Area of improvement will be on the free shuttle service. Need more details on frequency and timing of the shuttle service as I waited for 45 minutes for it but to no avail. In the end, I made my own transport arrangements to the hotel.

Nice Hotel close to the airport, but you don't realy hear the planes. Great Pool area with a Bar in the Pool for a relaxed drink. It's to nice to stay only one night after arrivel Panama, next time some more nights. The rooms are not the newest ones but all was clean!

I wouldn’t book it again. Pros: - pool view room has a nice view -staff was helpful Cons: -they have roaches -toilet flushes with less water pressure than a squirt gun -there was hair on the towels and on the fixtures. In short, you have to stay in Panama City for decent accommodations. Even though this area is closure to family, next time I’ll book a higher end room in the city

Near the airport with convenient free shuttle service every hour but... overall service is subpar and restaurant sucks: it took 45min between ordering and getting the saddest looking, and tasting, burgers & Cesar salads! The pool is nice, a plus, but that's about it.

This hotel has seen better days. We booked here because of the shuttle service to the airport, and that was good. However, there were no water glasses, not even plastic in our room. Our flight was early, so no coffee or breakfast. No one was at the night desk. Dining service was slow to nonexistent, and the food was mediocre. The grounds and pool are beautiful and well-maintained, of course we were there only overnight so did not take advantage of them.

Strange Air Conditioning. Only one luggage float, that way the Bellhops have a monopoly on your luggage. There are more hidden in a back room. I also had a luke warm cheese steak that was the worst I have ever had in my life! But the straw that broke the camel's back was a black hair at the bottom of my plate! The waiter didn't seem surprised, and didn't offer to get a Manager. I can only suspect that being near the Airport keeps them in business. Really liked Panama, hated this place.

Bottom sheets were all pilled and rough. Floor was gritty. Shower controls not completely accessible from outside shower. It took almost 9 minutes for hot water to appear so I had a cold shower. They need coffee service for people taking early flights. We asked for coffee and were given small cups but today was a first for that. It needs to be self service and standard service

I booked this room for the purpose of getting to the airport quickly and easily. Check in was friendly, food was ok and the shuttle left on time. Room was decent for the price and purpose.

Very bad attitude from the people who attend, there was a problem in the shower and they did nothing, not even an attitude, bad answers. Very bad experience for our first visit to Panama and this hotel, I do not recommend it. I had never left a review, but this time, due to its poor service, it deserves it.

Their own website says the suite had a coffee maker, but no. Ok, worked with restaurant (early flight out at 6). But, the next door occupants rm 146 were loud (drunk) and noisy till 2 AM!! No security, no quiet hours, "no es mi problema", as usual. 135 a night? Location near airport is only advantage. I'll check out the Crowne next time. Hasta la Vista, bebe!

Needed a room to get sleep in-between flights. Near airport. Couldn't get any information about shuttle. Tried texting and calling hotel no answer and no response. Ended up paying for a taxi. The room was clean. I had to go to the kitchen to get ice cubes. Nice souvenir shop with food and drinks as well. I was asked if I wanted a wakeup call and said yes. The call never came. Was able to get the shuttle back to the airport.

Very Wonderful place to stay. Great transportation to and from the Airport. Highly recommend staying there. Also the breakfast bar was awesome.

The room was very tiny. Though we'll arranged. There was no microwave to coffee maker, nothing to make yourself even a hot tea. There is a restaurant, the good is very pricey. I paid 15 USD for some rice with a couple of shrimp inside. It was not really worth it. The breakfast is nice, though. It made up for every wrong.

Hotel is in a very convenient location as it’s 5 min from the airport. Good for people who have connection flight. Rooms are clean, but looking little old. Free wifi is available, but depending on the room, very weak signal, so for people who is planning working from the room is not a good idea… better be at the business center at the lobby. Breakfast could be better with little more option of breads and fruits. Menu at the restaurant is the same as the room services and for lunch they has plate of the day (menu ejecutivo del dia). People at the front desk are very kind and attentive. There is a shuttle service from hotel do the airport every hour, and for the busiest period, every 30min. Very convenient!.

We love this place. Much nicer than Crowne Plaza..next door. The food is much much better than CP. And the rooms are less expensive. So glad we found this place!

Simple breakfast and no warm water for showering. The hotel is conveniently located at the airport and is only slightly affected by traffic noise. Be sure to book a room with a pool view by calling and requesting a room where the windows can be opened.

I booked this place as it was recommended to me because it was dog friendly. I did not catch the shuttle to the airport because I had just missed it. I took a taxi. I know I overpaid but at this point I just wanted to get my puppy and I to the hotel. But I cringe about the price now. LOL The hotel is virtually right outside of the airport. It was less than 10 min. Maybe less than 5 min. which makes what I paid for a taxi outrageous. (I paid about the same for an Uber that took me more than a half hour away from the hotel). But once I got to the hotel, I was relieved. The lobby was so nice. There were porters who took my luggage and put it on a cart while I checked in. The young man at the reception spoke excellent English and was very helpful on several occasions. It did not take long to check me in and the porter and I were on our way to my room. My room was very nice. It was poolside with a terrace and a kingsize bed. There was also a television, and alarm clock. There was no coffee maker or microwave but I am not sure there was supposed to be one. There is no bath but I think that is fairly typical here. But the rainshower was so relaxing. There was LOTS of hot water!! A really nice touch was the bath robe which was soft and comfortable. I had dinner at the restaurant. I ordered ceviche and a salad. Both were very big and very tasty. Although I was starved and everything was delish, I could not finish it all. Breakfast the first day was also great. Scrambled eggs, bread, fruit, cereal, pastries, potatoes and some delicious fried pork pieces. Plus coffee and juice. I really enjoyed my breakfast esp the pork and the fruit. Next day was similar but they had steak in a sauce instead of the pork. Yummy!! I went back twice for that and took double what I took first time. It was so very tasty. They also had some fried dough. They called it puff pastry but it didn't resemble any puff pastry I have had or made. Didn't matter because it was GREAT!! I picked a bigger piece the second time. LOL The coffee was okay. Definitely not what I had hoped for being in Panama. But it had probably been made some time ago. The girl who served me was sweet and kind. But I rarely saw her. No check in to see if all was okay or if I wanted something. I was okay. The pool and the gardens are BEAUTIFUL!! I could not believe how beautiful it was there when I first arrived at dusk. Then in the morning, I was so pleased to see how truly magical it was. I was awed by all the orchids. I struggle to grow them at home and have NEVER seen them like this. The gardeners on the property sure worked hard. The property is larger than just the hotel as they have a paintball facility as well as pickleball courts. There is also a small playground for kids outside the main area. I would see those workers always making sure everything was clean and welcoming. The reason I saw them probably more often than other guests is because their work/lunch area was close to where the area I could take Stella for potty breaks. They were always kind and polite to us. Even when Stella barked at them. Luckily she would give her one bark bark. There were several cats on the property. Two black ones, one of which was missing an eye, and a beautiful orange and white tabby. The orange tabby enjoyed getting scratches just as much as I enjoyed scratching her. I miss my Pumpkin cat. I guess I am partial to orange cats but this girl was very friendly and, I think she was pregnant. I really enjoyed my stay at the Riande. I eventually moved to an Airbnb. I would have stayed but there was very little to do in the area. There was some sketchy restaurants and stores across the busy highway so if you wanted to play frogger in Panama City, the opportunity was there. I would definitely return here and I would recommend it to friends. Thanks to everyone for making this a great stay for Stella and me.

Terrible room, toilet was disfunctional, internet not working ,no tv in English, staff clueless, Not enough toiletries for 2 people to clean up after a long flight. My husbands spanish is more than adequite so no excuse for no sympathy or help offered. Tried to call hotel from the airport as we'd been told, to ask where, when shuttle was. Rang and rang, until a weird sharp sound came from their phone through my husbands phone and for a day he was in pain and deaf in that ear. When we told the desk they didnt believe us . Our neighbors, were blasting some loud sporting event. We,only booked them for the shuttle and had to get a cab. Because of the blockades our driver couldn't pick us up til 2:30 and we got a hotel.in case it was much later. We spent about 150$ including the cab and couldnt wait to get out of that dump. I recommend everyone to stay away from this place.

  • 1/5 Elliot P. 5 months ago on Google
Poor shuttle service and unresponsive front desk. Our room had a barely functional toilet and no hand towels. When I called from the airport for shuttle service, which we were instructed to do via email, no one answered and then the call ended with a really loud screetch which painfully damaged my inner ear. Desk staff seemed blissfully unaware an unapologetic about this. They were also in denial about their useless shuttle service - we wound up getting a $7 taxi from the Panama airport. Overall, what Bette Davis would say: "What a dump!" Avoid at any price, despite its convenient location.

Our check-in experience was less than desirable, as another guest came back to the counter and complained about getting a key to a room that was already occupied by another guest. The person in the room was having a shower. The staff reacted like it was not the first time it had happened and laughed it off as no big deal.. I would advise if you do stay here to secure the deadbolt after entering the room.

We stayed 3 nights while family was returning home after the holidays. It's an ok place to stay to access the airport. The location is great and the shuttle service convenient and reliable and the drivers nice. The hotel is pet friendly with a $150 deposit and an additional $25 charge per night. The hallways are tired but the rooms are clean. Hot water is intermittent and the shower door didn't close all the way so water poured all over the floor. The grounds and pool are nice and a poolside main floor room with the small outdoor space is your best bet. My main complaint is the restaurant food. It was terrible even by hotel restaurant food standards. As was the service (the restaurant wasn't busy and we waited almost an hour for our food and never did get our drinks). The second night we ordered pizza by delivery and we we're stopped in the lobby and told "eating in our room was not permitted" and we're escorted by a staff member to an outside area near the pool which was the only place we were apparently allowed to eat our pizza. A wierd rule for sure. Overall, if your not expecting too much it is an ok place to stay for access to Tocumen airport.

This hotel is amazing, despite not being a luxurious hotel and rooms needing some retouch. It has a relaxing atmosphere, in a good location near airport. Food is amazing and service is excellent. I left my credit card in the pool and it was returned to my room. I have no complaints about this hotel. It has all the 3 Bs in Spanish. Bueno, Bonito y Barato.

A nice hotel conveniently located close to the airport. They have an airport shuttle, but you can also take the bus or metro. The rooms were large and clean, a bit dated in places but still ok. Pool looked nice.

Location is near the airport hence very convenient for a one night layover. As per Expedia I was entitled to a room upgrade that was never mentioned during check in. Room needs lot of improvements. No useful toiletries found in the bathroom only one bottle of conditioner and two body cream. A/C super noisy. Water in bathtub will not drain. Breakfast was very basic.

Our flight was cancelled due to the FAA regulations fro the 737, we could not make our reservation and there are no flights out of our location to Panama City. We called the hotel several times to ask to change the date, or cancel, refund, or PARTIAL refund as we were stranded for days in a different city. They would do nothing to help us, they offered no refund, or credit or ability to change the date, for a hospitality industry, not hospitable, especially to a family of 5 with small children. They had no problem rebooking our room to any of the other 1000 stranded travelers in Panama City. Might have been a great place but we will never know as our only impression is terrible, especially when we were facing a difficult situation ourselves 7000 miles from home. Thanks Riande!

We had a nice room, with hot water in the bathroom. We ordered food from room service. My husband had shrimp w/garlic sauce & rice and I had a Magarita pizza with a couple of Panama beers! Yum! Had a good sleep. And the next morning we had a free breakfast. And we had a choice of a continental breakfast or an American breakfast. We chose American because we wanted a big breakfast and it was eggs, cheese, ham, with 2 pieces of toast and fruit. You could help yourself to coffee and juice. It was good! Then we needed to continue our adventure, so we checked out and the hotel called a taxi and we were on our way.

Understaffed. Seriously. No one at front desk. Rooms are deserted of even the basic water, glasses, coffee?? Nada. Infrastructure is good but service is non existent. Weak wi-fi. Rooms lit like a hospital. Would have left but no refund... Oh well.

Not bad overall, however aircon connected to card switch in a country where you want it to be running 24/7 is quite strange. At least give me the 2nd key so I can keep it running. No water or coffee machine provided in the room, at least in a standard room which is still not OK. On the other hand, fine pool, good restaurant and cute souvenir shop. Reception is OK but shuttle driver was late by some 20 minutes - good for him I never get on the plane last second so he had some time in hand.

It was very nice but there was no hot water for my shower. I just heard from the owner of Riande hotel. I do not understand Spanish. Very impressed that sent me a comment. I will say the employee's were wonderful and we had a shuttle service that took us to the airport in 15 minutes. They had a beautiful pool. I will stay there again.

The convenience of having this hotel so close in proximity to the airport with free shuttle services, is unparalleled! The entry to the hotel's lobby and front desk is impressively and tastefully decorated. The staff is courteous and professional and often speak some English. There is an on-site restaurant with average food and free breakfasts.. The outdoor swim up bar is really fun and the drinks are great! Beautiful grounds with tree orchids everywhere! The on-site gift store is well-stocked with plenty of touristy items for consideration, and many are priced quite competitively! The rooms are basically furnished but comfortable. The AC keeps the rooms cool and dry. Bathrooms are tiled and clean. They lack coffeemakers and refrigerators however. The only reason I gave a 4-star rating instead of 5 is because the rooms truly need their carpeting replaced.. It is old, wrinkled, dingy, and dirty-looking... (I didn't want to walk barefoot on the floor, regardless of how clean the rest of the room appeared... Not a good feeling.) "Hotel Riande, please replace your carpeting and do so with tile!" We use your hotel often and we would like to refer other travelers to your hotel with confidence.

I think it's a good place to chill, but they need to be better when we talk about customers service, another things are organisation, little pest in the room, the food of the restaurant and poor conection of the wifi. I was thinking to put 3 stars to this hotel but in the end when you are next to the pool you chill and relax you dont care about the rest and its hotel where you can play pool, paint ball, have a gym, have tennis paddle courts.

  • 3/5 Moose S. 2 years ago on Google
If you're just looking for a hotel just for a layover, then Riande might be a wise option for you. However, as a previous reviewer had said.. "It has seen better days". The Resort on it's own is pretty lovely, the environment within it is quite lovely, the pool was okay as well. The service was quite decent as well and the free shuttle was a nice touch. However, the hotel's location is practically horrible. The nearest shopping mall is a couple of km's away, but the road to get to it is infested with cars and traffic, making it abt a 15 minute drive (if you're taking a taxi). And the Wi-Fi here is quite bonkers. When I had arrived at the hotel, I was getting a decent 20 Mbps. But a couple of hours go by and I'm in my room, and just as it reaches about 8 o'clock, the speed drastically went down to a slow 2-5mbps. I tested out the internet connection in the lobby and it was even better then in my room! And to talk about the room, the amenities given were quite low, We had gotten a TV, but we didn't get much storage or even a fridge! I wouldn't complain much about the room itself cause apparently this was one of the "last rooms" they had. So as I said, this is a great layover hotel, not a great "stay for a couple days" Hotel.

I chose it because it's close to the airport and had a free shuttle. I'm bragging on them because the room was really well appointed (great bed, darkening curtains, and quiet!), the staff was courteous and responsive, the food was good, and the decor (not something I know much about) was clever and pleasant. You don't have to stay there, but everyone will laugh at you if you don't - it's a great place!

We liked the Riande for numerous reasons: - close to airport -airport shuttle - staff corteous and efficient - not overpriced - beautiful pool and grounds - rooms are nice - romantic - great restaurant and bar - complimentary breakfast which was very good. The reason for 4 stars is our room was damp and only 1 chair, tv is old but did the job.. We will be back , thanks .

  • 2/5 K. L. 1 year ago on Google
We chose the Riande because of its location nearby the airport. We had a early flight and wanted to be close-by. The "garden" with the pool area is really nice and we were able to spend one last nice afternoon in Panama. Unfortunately there aren't any nice dinner options around and you're not allowed to have food delivered to the hotel. The restaurant was alright. Unfortunately the WiFi connection is so so poor and the walls incredibly thin and our neighbours had their TV so loud it felt like they were in our room. We asked for a solution (a new room) at the reception three times. They gave us a password for another WIFI which was as poor as the other one. My phone was kicked out of the WiFi the whole time. Also they said they'd send security to the neighbours but nothing changed. The third time we asked for a solution at the reception we got a new room which was more quiet but the WIFI was still not usable. In general the building and rooms aren't well taken care of, especially the little "terraces" and the green carpet outside make a really bad and dirty impression. The worst thing was the next morning. This hotel is an AIRPORT hotel so we expected them to have a breakfast buffet for you to have breakfast at your pace and to your liking. When we arrived at breakfast we were shocked that we had to order our food. We received it after about 10-15 minutes and only had 10 minutes left to eat before taking the shuttle to the airport. There's no chance to maybe have seconds if you're in a hurry. WHAT A BAD CONCEPT! The airport shuttle is free but there's only one every hour and the driver didn't say anything about there being two terminals so all of us on the shuttle got out at the wrong terminal (the signs outside of terminal 1 list all airlines which is wrong!). One quick question for the passengers would've been all it needed.

  • 1/5 Joanna Y. 1 year ago on Google
A pungent odor of really bad food hits guests immediately upon entering the lobby. The alleged "upscale" hotel is more like Motel 6 but with bad smell. Ho-hum reception, very long walk to the rooms, narrow beds with lousy mattresses and shuttle which stupidly goes only once per hour - round up the experience. The gate was closed at 4 am and taxi impossible to find for the 6 am flight. And we thought Crowne Plaza was bad!

  • 5/5 Linda L. 1 year ago on Google
Our 10th visit. Love this place. All reception and staff are fabulous. The pool and deck is so relaxing and only 5 minutes to the airport.

I had to overnight for my flight, and I chose this hotel because it's located near the airport and has free shuttle service. The hotel is beautiful, and the staff very friendly and welcoming. I enjoyed dinner at the hotel's restaurant and the food was great. Breakfast was included with my booking and it was ready in no time in order for me to catch the shuttle to the airport for my flight. The room was comfortable and clean. I would stay here again.

The only good of this hotel is the location. Rooms are smelly and old, no internet connection AT ALL, tv not working, shuttles to airport are not punctual nor reliable and probably one of the worst customer attention services I have ever had.

Well maintained. Efficient service. Price is good. Super close to the airport with excellent free shuttle service (both ways).

Very pretty spot and lots of amenities. We had a good evening meal, which was a lot less expensive then it's close competition. Breakfast was breakfast, filled the gap. Checking in, the receptionist got our reservation wrong. Wrong name, although we told him a few times. Our friend was with us in her own adjoining room. When we finally got it settled, we were supposed to get a garden view room and he put us facing the parking lot. Unfortunately we didn't notice it right away so we decided to stay where we were. It is close to the airport and offers free shuttle, so this was one of the reasons we chose to stay here. We will stay again the next time we travel, but because of the mess-up on the rooms, from start to finish, I am only giving it four stars.

Conveniently located close to the airport. Free breakfast buffet. The pool area was resort like. The rooms were comfortable and modern. I noticed the restaurant area is in much need of an upgrade. The decor looks very outdated.

Decent place, friendly service. Was alarmed by the two sets of broken glass out by the pool. Thankful I saw them before my bare feet did! Someone shouldn't have had glass out there but the staff should be more watchful cleaning. Could have been an awful start to my first vacation in five years.

Older hotel, but is a convenient location for early airport departures. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff are polite and efficient. The restaurant service is very good, and a nice breakfast buffet comes with your room.

Nice hotel, but we had to leave early so we couldn't get breakfast but the the staff made us some coffee to go!

We had dinner here and it was ok. Looks great, good atmosphere but the limited menu and terrible service was tuff. This was the final night of an awesome trip to Panama and was hoping for a bang of a dinner that just fizzled out. The food was ok.
