The hotel is very elegant without being baroque or ostentatious. It may not have the allure of a downtown hotel, but it's really well located and it's very close to all relevant visitor sites in the city and its surroundings. Panama City is not so big so everything is accessible if you avoid rush hours. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious and stylish. Service is really good. Bell boys and waitresses and really kind and helpful. I cannot say the same for the concierges at the reception. Some were very friendly and others were not really helpful. The restaurant is really pleasant. Breakfast offered various options and was very tasty. The pool at the hotel is not really a swimming pool, but more like a small water feature. But the terrace in which it is located is nice to sit at if you want to unwind and feel the warm weather. I would totally recommend this hotel to visitors who are going to move around a lot, want a good night sleep at the end of the day, and appreciate good service.

Not only did we stay at the hotel, but we also attended wedding reception in the ballroom and bar. Everyone was very nice and attentive. I really appreciate a good dirty vodka martini, which the bartender did wonderfully. Rooms are spacious and well equipped, with nice linens. Soaps and shampoos are a lovely scent and good quality, in addition to the clean and nicely decorated bathroom. The breakfast offers plenty of options, with meat, pastries, coffee/juice, and fruits/cereal. They have a nice pool and gym, with a sauna on the spa floor. One complaint that I have is the internet connectivity was spotty and unreliable. I was constantly moving around to find better signal only to lose it again after a few minutes. Also, Illy brand coffee pods were advertised as include with the in-room coffee machine, however, our room and some of friend's rooms did not have them and were never restocked the entire five day stay, however, the coffee in the dining room was always available so I did not need them. It was also practically impossible getting in touch with anyone over the phone and was only able to communicate with them through email and got several bits of confusing, inaccurate info (one of which involved my reservation simply disappearing, but thankfully I had my original confirmation email and they reinstated my reservation after I emailed them) which I will blame on the fact the hotel was apparently going through a change of ownership. Hopefully that is not a regular occurrence. Overall, I would definitely return!

I stayed in this hotel because my school paid for the hotel. I felt like during my time at this hotel the staff unfairly treated me, I think some were racist. The reason why I say that is because of 3 incidents that’s occurred, the first incident was when I arrived before checkin at 3pm, I arrived at 6:30 am and went to go to the 5th floor to get breakfast, the staff told me when I asked to sit, that they were not open even though the hours on my school itinerary said 6:30am-10am when I showed the staff woman with red lipstick my itinerary the lady changed her response and allowed me to sit. The 2nd incident happened when I went to come back with my 1 white friend and 2 black friends so the white friend could eat , the staff charge me and my 2 black friend $35 for coffee and didn’t charge the white girl anything or even say anything to her about breakfast not being covered by the school. The 3rd incident was the room they gave me did not have a bathtub, (another woman with red lipstick )when I went to the front desk to complain about it the Afro Panamanian woman asked me “how did I get a room with no bathtub because there are only 10 rooms without bathtub though out the whole hotel. “ I felt like the staff unfairly treated me sometype of way and didn’t treat my white counterparts that way, in addition to no bath tub the replacement room didn’t have a coffee machine (like all the rest of the rooms) and didn’t have a clock either. I just felt like I was being treated less than and customer service was lacking. I would not recommend this country or hotel for travel if the people of Panama that are fairer skinned is racist.

This is a business stay hotel. The refrigerator didn't work. Maintenance had to replace. Not a family hotel. Hotel foods options very limited. Location is subjective, depending on your destination. Very busy street and limited dining locations within walking distance. Limited view from window.

Beautiful hotel, great staff. We checked into our hotel day of reservation at 6:30 am with no questions asked. Did the couples massage and loved every minute. Great build quality for Central American resort. Pool was meh, an afterthought and not heated. Could hear water through pipes when neighbor was showering.

As a solo traveler I enjoyed my stay at the Bristol. The staff were kind. I had the executive room and let me start by saying it was huge! More than enough space. The bed was comfy and the bathroom was more than enough space for me. I felt like a queen! It felt good to be welcomed by friendly faces at the door each time I came and went. The breakfast was amazing. The only thing I griped a bit with was the seating to be inclusive for solo travelers. One day I went in and I was showed to the door to have a seat outside. It would have been great any other day but that day I had on a semi-formal dress and sitting outside wasn’t conducive given I would have begun sweating and ruining my dress before I had a chance to leave. I was sort of shrugged off by the attendant that day. I think the manager came out and I politely asked if I could be seated inside. I then begin saying, I truly only needed 20 minutes to eat and I would be leaving. I was accommodated with seating inside but after a bit of a wait. I totally understood and waited. I am not sure if it's ideal, but to save space and allow for seating with larger groups, perhaps a room service can be granted for those individuals who are solo. Even if it's a limited list of items to choose from. I think this hiccup was only for that particular day however, I went the next day and had a place to sit. After I was stared at by the same attendant the day before for being solo. I am not sure; the gentlemen were welcoming but that particular attendant did peer at me as an inconvenience. The same as the day before, almost like “why are you here” kind of feeling or like, “you’re going to throw off our seating”. I didn't care for that exchange and I didn't let sway my overall review. The last thing this female attendant did that sort of left a bad taste in my mouth, as I finished eating (getting up from my seat) and left for the elevator to go up, she stopped me and asked me my room number. I thought that was weird because I wouldn’t have been allowed to seat without checking in at the kiosk. Whether you were there or not, I shouldn’t have to feel like I was dining there in violation. Also, YOU WERE NOT THERE WHEN I CAME. Ask another colleague, I shouldn’t have been approached, it made me feel like I wasn’t supposed to be there, when in fact I paid a hefty penny to stay there for 4 days. The spa was amazing. I was serviced by Sonia. Sonia was amazing! The massage was a 10/10. I told her that this was one of the best massages I have had in my life, if not thee best! I have traveled a number of places and have had massages in many reputable establishments, this one was incomparable! If you have time, go and check out Sonia, I enjoyed my self-care time with her at the Bristol Salon and Spa! Overall, I would recommend this hotel! I personally felt safe as a solo traveler. Other than the, one off colleague in the restaurant (that gave me very unprofessional energy) the other staff members were respectful and kind. I would revisit this hotel if I am ever in Panama.

The lobby and spa facilities were very nice. The doormen did a great job with greeting and the front desk was helpful with directions. However, we stayed in the old part of the building and there was a constant banging noise going all day and night, which was very loud and annoying. I believe it was the elevator or another mechanical sound. Furthermore, I had breakfast at Salsipuedes on my last day and the service personnel certainly tried hard but completely missed the mark. Upon seating, I had several of the waiters ask my room number and name 5 different times as I was trying to enjoy my breakfast and to me, that obviously means you will charge it to my room as any other hotel would. No problem. However, they expect credit card payment at the restaurant despite being a hotel guest so keep that in mind. The process makes no sense.

Update: the management team reached out and the issue has been resolved . Following on my review below. I never received a response from the Bristol management about the outstanding issue I reported in March 2022 during my stay. It definitely says a lot about your customer service. I’m changing my ratings.

I returned to Panama and it is part of the places in my heart where you feel good, by now I don't look for other hotels my only choice is Hotel Bristol Panama, and every time they surprise me positively for their attention and consideration towards their customers, exactly as it should be but sincerely this is not the case in all hotels. Cleanliness, quality of the environment, friendly staff ready to assist customers, this time I was pleasantly surprised by the scent that you will find at the reception I asked if I could buy it so pleasant and you will always find a table decorated with fresh flowers, small attentions that make difference, my compliments, I hope to return to Panama soon to stay again at the Hotel Bristol

Very happy with the room size and quality which were excellent and beautifully executed. Breakfast was nice but nothing special. The baking was a zero just toasted white bread which says they are not trying very hard: for free it is fine, for $10 I would walk around the corner to Starbucks. Service at check-in and in the restaurant was excellent

Lovely hotel with friendly and service oriented staff. Our room is huge and very comfortable. A few pieces of furniture have some dings and the breakfast was inconsistent. But it was still very good. One of the few hotels I'd stay again

A truly wonderful experience. My sincerest thanks and gratitude to the staff and management of the Bristol, Panama. It's been a tough time for your country for a while now and despite everything that's going on, the entire team made me feel at home and like family. A respite of peace and tranquility in a crazy world. I definitely made a few new friends, and will only consider the Bristol for my future travels to visits to the city, and as a home base with the lovely people of Panama. Thank you so much, your friend from Montana. MR

It's a wonderful place. Look no further. The staff was very helpfull. I stayed at a spacious room. It had It's own desk and tv couch besides The bed and The TV modular. The barhroom had a tub and an independent shower. Lots of space to walk around if you're not traveling alone. It's not cheap, but it's worth every dollar. Oh, breakfast is amazing.

Service Service Service! Amazing! Location was an uber ride or walk away from most places and only 10 minute drive from Casca Viejo! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Juan, Gabriel, Carlos & everyone even management, from front desk to bell-men was so nice and so helpful! Too many names to list, they were all great!

It's a great place to stay; since you entered, the attention is great, the process, the options, the approach. It's hard to find good customer service. However, this hotel goes above expectations.

The rooms are very nice; the hotel is clean and well maintained, but our stay was disappointing. To begin, they had canceled our prepaid reservation because our flight was delayed. During our two-night stay our room keys failed twice. The plug in our bathroom didn't work and our two-person room had coffee for one. Potential for a 5-star hotel is here but at least on this trip they didn't deliver.

I’m currently living at Bristol Residences, the staff is really nice, the apartament is comfortable and with most ammenities I need. It is conveniently located. Just decided to extend my stay for another three months, the opportunity cost of such a convenient palce vs. looking and setting up an apt is high.

My husband and I just spent nine wonderful days at the hotel. Everything about the hotel and our stay was well above average - the room, bedding, staff, spa, breakfast, cocktails, dinner. This will definitely be our 'go to' Panama City hotel in the future.

One of the most comfortable hotel rooms I have ever had. Linen and pillows are amazing. Quiet. Much larger than most hotel rooms and well laid out. Great staff. More of a business hotel vs tourist. Go elsewhere for breakfast.

Great hotel. Rooms are well built. No shoddy construction here. Nicely furnished and roomy. Service is always top notch. Friendly and professional. They take care of their Wyndham Diamond members. Wish it was in Casco Antiguo but centrally located in the business district.

One of the best hotels I have stayed in, in the world. Perfect staff! clean and I have no complaints. This is a place I stayed in, in 2005 and was so impressed I had to come back in 2023. Nothing changed still amazing. Top ten in my travels

Stayed 5 nights, received a warm welcome and a room upgrade. Great concierge, helpful and nice. Room was huge however not perfectly clean in places and the shower was absolutely not of 5-star standard (very odd). Breakfast not included in a $125 a night room, and you pay $23 for it (not particularly impressive either). For the money, especially with the availability in Panama, it was disappointing. Might as well stay at the Hilton. Opposite you’ll find the Executive Hotel for $65 a night with breakfast. Equally nice concierge. Rooms are half the size but perfectly nice and clean, great showers, and cheaper laundry service. There’s also a very well priced restaurant downstairs.

The old good Bristol ! Excellent place to stay in Panama City. This time I have chosen Bristol for my mandatory 3 day-quarantine to enter Panama as a visitor coming from South America. But I liked my stay. Highly recommended for visitors who want to have the comfort of a home, completely furnished apartment. Brand new and clean kitchenware. Thanks Bristol for having me.

This is absolutely not a 5 star hotel. The room is great, the internet will be the slowest you will ever experience and the "rooftop pool" is on the 5th floor and might accommodate 5 people at a time (it is about 5-6 feet wide

Poor sporadic internet connection in a beautiful hotel. Coffee maker provided with no coffee or condiments. Downtown banking district, with nice restaurants 5-10 blocks away. Good breakfast buffet.

  • 3/5 Pepito T. 2 years ago on Google
Executive room is big and spacious. However the furnitures where dented. Also the walls had scratches, toilette had wine stains on the walls. Bristol have the ambition to be top notch, but it falling short on the maintenance of the rooms. The bed sheets were clean, but very well used. Had some small holes in them. I expected more regarding the room.

This hotel has seen better days but still comfortable and I would stay here again before I need to sleep in a place without soul. The service is very good and has a good training and style.

The hotel staff are extremely friendly and helpful! The rooms were very clean and well kept and the Infrastructure is very modern and impressive. Anything I needed, the hotel was able to accommodate, and it seems all of the employees speak English and Spanish very well. This is the only hotel I will be staying in upon future returns to Panama City! On top of all of this, there is a spectacular breakfast at the hotel that includes fruit, homemade eggs, pastries, sausage dishes, yogurts, cheeses, bacon, and more! Thank you very much.

The staff was very generous with their time and service. I lead a large and complex group of students to Panama. The Bristol was by far the best hotel that I have stayed in over the last twelve trips to Panama. PBA holdings Group ( Our in country host and tour guide) and the Bristol make a great team. I strongly recommend both for your visit. Dan

Very rude and unprofessional front desk personnel! We stayed there for eight days for business- it was a pleasant experience until we were ready for check out -we were charged the late check out charges without any warning! I will avoid this hotel at any cost! The “supervisor” was not willing to solve this misunderstanding- and clearly doesn’t care about her staff and team! So sad. The hotel restaurant was good!

5 star hotel with views on a concrete wall. Impossible to change room even though the hotel is empty and has over 20 floors. Blood stains in the bathroom. Pool is freezing cold with litter everywhere. First and last time we're staying at a Registry Collection hotel.

The Bristol has large rooms at an affordable price for a 5-star hotel. We were very pleased with our room until we realized the door didn’t lock at all. You didn’t even need a key card to enter the room. We told the reception staff and then went to dinner. Dinner was great but when we returned to the room, and the lock still wasn’t fixed. I spoke to a different reception person and they sent up a maintenance person right away. The maintenance person was great. The maintenance person determined that it was gonna take a long time to fix the door. But by that time it was already 11 PM and I wanted to get myself and my children to bed. I called reception to be transferred to another room, but she said she had to wait to speak to maintenance first. That took about 10 minutes, and then I had to walk down to get keys and the new room number. It was a long night. It was just a bit frustrating to wait to be given another room so late in evening when we were tired and ready to go to sleep. Otherwise, we had a short, but great stay.
