Not a terrible hotel.. Room was clean and the breakfast decent. The not so good: no pool, no hot water at peak times, and they gave us a hard time with late checkout. I'm really surprised at their high rating but I haven't stayed at other hotels in panama (we did go to soltis down the street for their casino / pool which was quite nice).

Outdated hotel. Our room was meant to have a nice view and high windows. Got a room straight out of the early 90s. All furniture is dark brown and just old. The bed was good though. And the breakfast was a really huge disappointment: there is literately nothing healthy besides fresh fruits and it was such a mess and everything already finished at 8am. I would not recommend having breakfast here. Besides that the breakfast hall was very dirty and the crew worked on slowmo- like sleepwalking. Expensive for this kind of experience.

If you’re looking for a clean place to sleep, this place is just ok. The breakfast is decent but cold. Their business room is just 2 computers that don’t work. The lack a swimming pool and other amenities. They also overcharged for refrigerator items. Will I come back? Hell no.

They write down ALL GUESTS' CARD NUMBERS, which is a huge security risk and a violation of Visa, Mastercard, and Amex rules The AC doesn't work great. Gym access didn't work and the gym was small and not well equipped. Breakfast was mediocre. $4 bottle of water in the room

They need to focus more on service and it starts from the top down. Check should be faster and smoother, rooms aren't cleaned well in the floors, fire alarms go off when when testing without notice which creates stress to us clients. Food service on main floor is very slow and in my case barely warm, breakfast floor M is good, but I was mislead by Expedia that it was included with my room, travel and sightseeing staff in the lobby are really good people and provide a great service to all the clients staying at novotel. Overall the location is great for access to the city, but the hotel has many things to improve to raise its quality of stay, and I hope they do because us patrons deserve better!!

Though this hotel is not a five star one, their service definitely is. They accommodated every request we had without hesitation. Ladies on reception are extremely friendly. We had a very pleasant stay.

We were only there for one night but the stay was amazing. The rooms were very clean, beds were very comfortable, gorgeous views from the room. Also, the front desk reception was incredibly accommodating and nice. Especially Donilda, 5 stars all around for this hotel. Thank you again for a wonderful stay.

The room was very nice and the staff was very friendly! I loved that they had a tour company (JCA Tours) affiliated with the hotel which made booking tours very easy. They were alau awesome tour guides. The main downfall was the food was not all that great. It was very basic to say the least. However, the drinks were nice and pretty affordable.

Comfortable, quiet. Very limited room service and restaurant menu but quality is good. A delightful and helpful staff. 3.5 rather than a 4 star hotel.

I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for the incredible service you provided during our recent stay at the inn in Panama. Your friendliness and dedication to solving any issues we had were truly exceptional. I sm refer to Mrs Elizabetis, the reception lobby I was finishing an intense week of business before arriving in Panama, which makes her generosity and willingness to go the extra mile even more remarkable. Her effort to arrange an early check-in made our stay much more enjoyable and convenient. Her commitment to providing top-notch customer service is evident and greatly appreciated. Employees like her make a difference in customers' experiences and leave a lasting positive impression. Please continue to shine brightly in her role, as her friendliness and problem-solving skills are a tremendous asset to the organization. Once again, thank you for your outstanding service. Warm regards, Antonio Lopes

I contacted Novotel about a week ago in order to arrange a birthday surprise for my mother. The Novotel staff responded promptly and kept me updated. The Novotel team went above and beyond by decorating my mom's room, providing a cake, and welcoming her as she entered. They also had a mini photoshoot! I am incredibly impressed with Novotel's customer service. The staff made my mom feel special and offered her a warm welcome to Panama City. Thank you so much to Lionela and the rest of the Novotel staff for making this surprise happen.

I stayed in Novotel which is an amazing hotel in Panama City, Panama. The BEST thing about this hotel is the GREAT staff who works there. They are courteous, friendly and really enjoy making guests feel welcome and well served. Worth mentioning are: Misael, Sra. Adela, Juan, Thalia, Donilda, Anabella, Romelia, Viviana, Ginibel, Leonela, Isabeli, Lidia (night shift) and last but not least all the security guards who are always looking out for me :-) The hotel is located in a great location and close to restaurants, the Metro and walking distance to one of the main roads (Via Espana). If you really want to enjoy this beautiful country more than just the food and sightseeing, NOVOTEL is the hotel for your stay. Thanks to all the wonderful staff for making my stay more enjoyable!! Muchas gracias for su cortesia! :-)

I’ve been a guest of Novotel Panama since 2014. Need a little renovation but the service is excellent (something you don’t find easily in Panamá) and centrally located for business or just visiting.

I struggle to give this hotel a three-star rating, but the location pushes it to a three. It is short walking distance from the local metro/subway. However, the rooms need some TLC. They could make basic adjustments like painting the walls to cover up signs of aging. Here are few things that bothered me about this place. On the first day, my keycard allowed me to go to the floor where the gym was located. A day later, it no longer worked. I had to take the stairs to get to the gym. An attendant entered my room (and woke me out of my sleep), even when the "do not enter" sign was on the door. He said that he wanted to check the mini-bar. I doubt it. The breakfast is overpriced and lackluster. The best part of this experience was the bartender. She was attentive and naturally kind. If you are in town for one night or two, this hotel should meet your basic needs. If you have a longer stay, I would recommend that you check other options.

Greetings from Jamaica 🇯🇲🇯🇲 , My friend Shelly-Ann and I visited the hotel December 30,2022 to January 4,2023. We stayed for 5 nights. Shelly Ann's birthday was on January 3,2023 and a nice treat was sent to our room. The overall experience was very good. The receptionist Deonilda Fernandez and the other ladies (Isabelles and another lady) were wonderful. We had a great time. Panama 🇵🇦 we will be back soon 🎊🎊🔥🔥💃🏾💃🏾.

I was a solo tourist -- room was perfect for my needs -- just two blocks from Via Argentina Metro station. Only quibble: small refrigerator had a glass door and the inside light was always on.

My husband and I stayed at Novotel for the first few days of our honeymoon trip in Panama and it was amazing. We got a room upgrade with a wonderful view and a small gift nicely arranged on our bed. All of the receptionists were very kind and helpful with tour and restaurant recommendations and they really gave their best so that we could enjoy our honeymoon. The room was junior suite, very big, clean and a nice view. We loved the breakfast with fresh fruit and omelettes made by chefs as we wished. The location of the hotel is convenient as it is close to the touristy area with many restaurants and cafes and not far away from the airport. We used Uber all the time, but there is also a metro station nearby. We would definitely stay again in this hotel.

This Novotel is located within short walking distance of Via Espana and the Via Argentina Metro station. Very comfortable beds! Otherwise, fairly standard Novotel features. Very professional staff

My first time in Panama. I decide to take my kids (4) on their 1st trip abroad. The Novotel was suitable for my budget of 6, I decided to get breakfast inclusive ( very delicious with variety, buffet style). We were happy with the stay, very clean and excellent customer service. Staying at Novotel I got the real Panamanian experience as there were restaurants, grocery store etc in walking distance. The kids especially love the public park just 6 Mins walk away.

I stayed here during my first visit to Panama City. Chase rewards offered a good deal on this hotel so I booked it. The staff speaks both English and Spanish. The hotel is located on a busy two way street but it has a drive way in front of the entrance for pick ups and drop offs. The parking on site is free which is a nice perk. They have a restaurant downstairs that I didn’t try and a gym. The only downside is there is no pool which is surprising for a 4 star hotel in this area. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The mini bar offers a 1.5 L of water for $7, be careful! lol

Nice hotel, friendly people, clean -100% recommend!! No pool, that's little missing..Food in restaurant very good also! Can't say bad word about it! Hotel is also in very good location, safe, lot of restaurants, or anything you desire! Very happy here!!

The rating for this place is overrated. Rooms are not clean as expected. Stains on sofa and bed. Even on the restroom you can tell that the chrome is all rusted and falling apart. Also if your looking to come for more than a week and decide to go swimming, this is not the place. They do not even have a swimming pool. Hopefully this helps out a bit.

Room not quite as expected for Novotel standard. But good for value as location is close to shops. Try Jabjab just opposite front entrance, pollo tastes awesome!

Nice hotel, great location, wall are very hollow and you can hear people walking out side the door and next room. bathroom walls seem to be sheet rock. Besides that everything OK.

Novotel was overall a great experience. Stayed for 5 nights. Staff is extremely helpful and nice. We didn't eat at the restaurant, but we tried the breakfast and it was good. We didn't try the bar either. It has a free and covenient parking garage, open 24/7. It seems small but we never had a problem finding a spot even at late night. Location is absolutely excellent. Close to many restaurants and bars, and safe to walk around. Rooms are clean, and big. I would invest in a lighting upgrade since it was very dark. Also, the mattress is a spring mattress, and it was not leveled. So I would wake up with a low back pain. I would give a 5 star but the bed for me was uncomfortable. May be it was just me, I didn't see any review about the bed. Overall, I would still recommend this hotel.

We just checked out yesterday from the hotel after staying a week. It was our first time in Panama and we are so glad we chose Novotel. The staff went above and beyond to make sure our experience was amazing. They were so welcoming and helpful in every way. The quality and affordability are hard to beat anywhere. Loved this hotel and highly recommend it!

Great hotel. I would give it five stars for great value, but they need to invest in smart tvs.

I tried to give the manager and the staff a chance to fix the problems. Unfortunately they do not care, what have been seen from the beginning. First, the hotel is very loud. I had music. Playing across from my room until midnight. Second, on my first day I went to breakfast and I was attacked by the lady at the breakfast room for making a toast and trying to take with me, as I could not eat right there within 1 hour of taking my medication! It felt absolutely awful. I talked to the manager. He promised to address the issue. He did not. Next day, I did not eat breakfast, as I was leaving very early for my trip. The following day, the same lady attached an older gentleman for taking a piece of bread! I was ready to cry. What kind of place is this??? I tried to talk to them and them that I spoke to manger. I was told that this is the law in Panama. Again, I went to the front desk manager and the issues were communicated. Following this, I had extremely scary night. I was waking up at 4 am for my trip to San Blas Islands. The room phone rung at 1 am and woke me up. There was nobody on the other side. At 1:30am somebody started banging at my door! Tired, I got to the door and asked who was it. The make vice replied “police”. I did not open the door. I called the front desk and was told that this was a mistake. I could not sleep, I was terrified. Nobody was waiting in the miring to apologize!!! Again, I requested to speak with the manager. He offered to reimburse me for the horrible night and I of course, this has not happened! Please, do not stay at this hotel!!! Period. You will feel like third class person and for sure, you will not get any rest.

AC went out in or room and they said 15 min fix. We called back but they never answered at the front desk. We had to come downstairs to find out it wouldn’t be fixed at all, this was 1130pm by now and then they said no rooms available for us. We had a king suite. They booked us at hotel mío. What a dump. We ended up at Hotel Rui a block away in a king suite all out of my own pocket. Thanks for nothing Novotel jerks!

This hotel is OK! Our flight got canceled and this was our go to hotel. Its quite reasonable, the staff is friendly, some workers by the help desk were bilingual, and the food was good. There is no fridge or microwave in the standard room, but other than that I would recommend this hotel , if you are visiting panama for a short period.😊

Friendly staff and the rooms were okay. Not much views of the city and no pool either. Breakfast was a rip off of $15. But the hotel is in close proximity to the Metro and shops at the near by main road.

  • 5/5 Pape 1 year ago on Google
Ideal if you have a short stay. In the business district, close to the metro station and a few shops. Multiplaza and Albrook malls are not too far too.

We stayed at the Novotel Panama City for 4 nights while visiting. The location worked for us since there are plenty of places we went that were a short Uber ride away. Our room on the sixth floor gave us a nice view of the skyline, and was comfortable.

Have to give a great shout out my ladies who have been very hospitable, ( Leonela, Viviana, and the other lady couldn't remember her name but I remember that she has family from Barbados) thank you for all the help I do appreciate it because I travel alone and needed your support to find my way around. Would recommend it to others to enjoy themselves..

From the moment we check-in to check-out, the staff was so lovely and helpful. The woman who checked us in was thorough and upgraded our stay. The suite was comfortable, modern, and clean. we ate at the lobby restaurant and the food was delicious, well-priced, and the staff was again great! It was for one night as we were coming from somewhere else to leave the next morning, but it was great to have a comfortable night before leaving.

I had an amazing time. This hotel helped to make my trip to Panama even more memorable and enjoyable. The room was very modern and immaculately clean with an excellent view. The staff was also extremely pleasant and helpful. The location of the hotel is very central and eating places are within walking distance from the hotel. Would definitely visit again.
