09-16-2022 Amazing! stay in Panama 1 wk at This hotel and HONESTLY everything was amazing! hotel was moder, located in Via Argentina a VERY safe neighborhood, with LOTS of restaurant i recommend "Manolo" next to hotel. hotel was beautiful, check in smooth and all the staff very friendly. breadfast was truly delicious (you must included when you reserve) Rooms are very neat and A.C cold/quite..no noise in the hallway but the room a little noise from music nearby But by law it stops at midnight enforce by police. i give this place a 10.

The Best Western Zen was a little surprise of a gem hotel in a lovely more residential neighborhood of El Cangrejo, Panama City. It is a smaller, more intimate hotel off the main Via Argentina road which runs through this lovely neighborhood. For the price-point, the hotel is perfect. Rooms are clean and beds are comfortable. They even gave us the most lovely robes and slippers to use, which hit the spot after getting caught in the rain. The hotel staff were all so nice and accommodating and spoke some English. The included breakfast was full of variety and great quality. The view from the top of the hotel is a hot spot where the pool and a restaurant/bar is a fabulous place to gather during the day or night. I would stay here again for all the above reasons. An amendment: I liked this hotel so much, I returned six months later and had equally a lovely stay. A compliment to the lovely staff here; Issis at the front desk, the bartender at the rooftop restaurant and everyone else. All served with a smile and always helpful when you ask for directions, an extra item for the room or your “welcome drink,” which is an added touch for the price. The hotel is getting busy with large travel groups now and I hope the staff can handle the crowds. Or just hire more fabulous folks. I mention because when I checked in, a large group from Peru was arriving and only one person behind the desk to take in all their passports and get them room keys. A suggestion when this happens again; let the solo person check in before you process the group. And have an extra person staffed when large groups are expected. Otherwise, I still love this hotel.

Fair price, large rooms, little bit run down. Small pool. The staff are friendly and speak good english. They were very helpful except for making a reservation for a massage. It took them too long to organize it - for what ever reason, so we weren’t able to book it.

Nice and relaxing hotel, great surroundings, everything in close proximity. Everything very neat and clean. Breakfast is good, everything to your liking. The roof terrace and swimming pool on the 15 floor are certainly a plus. in short, definitely worth the money to stay here. Greetings from Belgium Tania & Peter

Stayed for 15 days. Clean Rooms, Staff is very Helpful. Lots of restaurants near by to walk to and little markets if you just need small items like water and snacks. The Gym is Awesome and very Clean. The only reason I gave it a 4 stars is because the Gym should have towels so you don't walk around dripping sweat everywhere. They also run out of water a lot on their Water machine at the gym. Love the Small pool on the roof top. During my stay, they had a freak flash flood and my rental car was stranded and submerged in water in front of the hotel. An employee help me get a hold of the Rental Car Company since I don't speak much Spanish. She was awesome and a big help. Breakfast was ok with many options to choose but if you really want good breakfast, a lot of places to go within walking distance.

So I'd give this 4 stars overall or 5 stars for the price. Much cheaper than other "fancy" places we stayed at in the city (e.g. Hilton). We stayed here due to it being walking distance both Lucca and Menteritas Blancas. The location and price were excellent. P.S- Parking garage is crazy by US standards

Was in Panama for an EF Tour and stayed at this Hotel. This girl was very clean and kept up very well. The staff here were awesome. Probably one of the best stays at a Best Western to date. If you are ever visiting Panama an looking for somewhere to stay look no further than this gem. Bonus to staying here is that there is a laundry cleaners about a block away, LavaPlus, a Churroria, for churros, and an ice cream bar.

This staff is absolutely excellent! We came to Panama City for medical reasons and the staff went above and beyond to make us comfortable. Sarasuati Samanigo helped my husband order dinner and more! She was so very sweet. The rooms are clean and comfortable. I cant wait to visit again .

Stayed 3 nights. Room was OK.It was the little things that let it down for a "Plus": It's a room for two but they only leave you a one cup coffee bag and forgot altogether on the 3rd day. You only get a bottle of water each on arrival, none for the next two nights? No mini bar, just an empty fridge.

This Best Western is a high-quality hotel in the middle of a bustling district with a huge variety of activities and eateries. We were greeted by a highly professional, friendly, bilingual staff. The lobby is very modern. Our room was quiet and super-clean. Unlike another nearby hotel at the same price (The Riande), this one fortunately didn't lock down the clothes hangers or, believe it or not, the soap. This shows that the Best Western has more trust and respect for its clientele. The Best Western room was also bigger than the Riande one. We were there only to sleep during a quick turnaround, so we didn't experience the restaurant or the Internet. We did get a chance to visit the rooftop pool with its spectacular view of downtown Panama City. The only negative: When the air conditioner turns on, the onrush of thunderous air is as loud as an alarm clock. It woke us up every fifteen minutes as it cycled. I finally put in my earplugs and got a great night's sleep, but I shouldn't need to do that.

I was a little skeptical about this hotel. To my surprise, it was a beautiful hotel, cozy and clean, centrally located close to many restaurants!

Just an amazing place on all aspects, service, front desk, housekeeping, pool cleanliness, and of course amazing breakfast and servers! Thank you for great 5 night stay!

I would recommend this hotel to others. Convenient location for walking to restaurants and a quick and affordable Uber ride to old town area. The staff were nice and helpful. The breakfast was sufficient. Didn’t get a lot of sun during my stay but got to use the pool once and the view is great for watching a sunset. My only concern was they did not have wash cloths so please pack one or a loofa or something.

Clean and quiet, front desk staff are all phenomenal. Breakfast are a variety of fruits and vegetables, and is self served, and a lot of restaurants and stores within walking distance.

Beautiful in the middle of the city. The rooms are very spacious. The bathroom is huge. Very large closets. Free coffee and water in the room. Large selection of foods for breakfast. Nice pool overlooking the city. We arrived early and they let us check in right away. The next morning they arranged a private car to the airport for us for a reasonable fee. The front desk staff could not have been more accommodating.

For the location and price this is a great hotel but really the best part is the staff. From check-in to bar service and room attendants, everyone is so polite and engaging and helpful. The hotel itself could use some attention in a few areas but it just didn’t bother me at all. The room was very comfortable, the pool area and gym are nice, the food was good and again, the staff, just the nicest people I interacted with in Panama City. I would stay here again most definitely.

We visited this hotel for our honeymoon. We stayed twice (once before a visit to San Blas and once when we returned). We had a lovely view from our room. However, the room and bathroom were not clean. We had multiple long hairs and (fresh) stains on our bed - we're certain the sheets were not changed between guests. This was the case in both of the rooms we stayed in. The gym area is good - good range of equipment. The pool is very small, but ample for a dip. The rooftop bar isn't great - absolutely zero atmosphere. My husband left his Apple Airpods in the first room. We contacted the staff who said they absolutely had not been found. We find this hard to believe as we know exactly where they were left. Staff at the reception were really friendly. The location is decent. I'd stay again for a short trip but only if the cleanliness improved.

This review is for the rooftop bar and staff. The team here is very helpful and friendly, just really great staff. As for the property itself, I really couldn't believe I was in a Best Western property to be honest. This would be a great place to stay and explore the city from.

This was our hotel for our 12 hour layover. It was $88 for a room from 6:30am to 6:30pm. It was only $14 Uber from the airport and conveniently located 7/8 minutes from casco viejo. That Uber ride was $4!! It was a great room, huge, clean and comfy. The pool was on the roof and has a infinity illusion. Rooftop restaurant and everything felt new and modern. Located on the same block as the famous eel tapiche restaurant. And tons of food options within a minute walk. Would definitely recommend and we will be returning here for our other layover in Panama. Highly recommend!

Bad customer service & cockroaches under the bed. Reason im unhappy: They ruined my clothing in laundry after I specifically asked for a handwash & not heat, Iron etc. My short shrunk. After confrontation they said I would not have to pay the laundry cost & they would email me about compensation. They did NOT contact me & CHARGED me the 10 dollars laundry costs from my creditcard anyway.. For the cockroaches they gave me another room so that was fine.

Great hotel in the middle of the city. It is not a 5 star hotel but it has everything you need. Really good small buffet style breakfast included. We enjoyed the pool on the roof top and the view is amazing. Excellent customer service.

Incredible views of the city from the rooftop pool, especially at night. Very clean, modern rooms and hotel, free wifi, and in walking distance to all kinds of food. Fantastic value.

I visited on May and this place is clean, the staff amazing, location is great, I need to go to Panamá next month, this will be my option again, if you’re looking for a good hotel good price, safe area, definitely this is one of the best option.

The rooms are great, but don't buy the boxed breakfasts available during COVID restrictions: go to a nearby restaurant on Via Argentina instead.

The rooms and the roof top bar are fantastic. We spent there 3 nights, first one single night and later one two other nights. The first layover was great and would have been rated with 5*. We looked forward to our second stay but got disappointed. There was an iron in the room but no ironing board (actually after having spent many nights in the jungle we needed to jazz up our outfits). We called the front desk and asked for an ironing board (that was actually the hint in the cabinet....'if you need an ironing board, pls call the front desk'). The lady at the front desk was not able to understand what I'm asking for. I needed to take a picture of the hint in the cabinet, moved all the way down to the front desk to show her, what I was asking for. Her answer: 'Awww.....you need a table!' Yep. Call it how you want it will still be an ironing board. Another issue, we already drunk a coffee at our room that day and we asked at the front desk to provide some more coffee pads that we can have a coffee after getting up next morning........bummer.....not possible. Anyhow, next morning we tipped the room service and left our room. Don't believe they filled up the missing coffee. Even at the very beautiful roof top pool......no pool towels. Only after we have been moving all the 15 levels down to the front desk asking for pool towels they filled the rack at the pool with towels. That the very beautiful roof top bar was closed not to mention but excused by the pandamic. But is the pandamic an excusion for all those lacks of service?

Everything was great. I enjoyed the area with several restaurants near. The rooftop pool and bar was amazing with incredible views of the city. The staff was so friendly and helpful. My room was big with amazing views as well. Clean and comfortable!

Great hotel located in town, but not in the old town. You can walk, it's safe. Lots of local restaurants. There was a 24 hour restaurant around the block and an authentic Panamanian restaurant down the street. There's shopping if you walk up to Via Espana and the subway. The only thing I would downgrade them for was the safe in the room was not secured to the cabinet and you could just pick it up. Not very safe. Hotel was well maintained. Enjoyed our stay

Stayed 2 nights and hotel stay was great. The room was clean and bed was comfortable. The staff is friendly and breakfast was good considering it’s free. The last floor has a nice pool and has good music late night

Very nice and clean hotel— definitely check out the rooftop bar that has $5 drinks . Located perfectly in el Congrejo. I’m so glad I decided to stay here instead of the old town. The food was better and cheaper here in El congrejo than Casa Vieja .

Alors ...the hotel was nice, swimming pool was nice, breakfast was ok, fresh fruits available but the indian receptionist was horrible, rude and not helpfull. She should not be working at front desk we lost with her 30min and stress. Worst service ever and hence the 2 stars. Her colleagues on the other way behaved much better and could find quickly the solution we needed.

Amaizing experience. Im very picky with hotels but I must say it was beyond great. Clean clean clean and very clean. All updated hotel nothing old nor dingy. A must stay. Breakfast is okay. Rooms are 10 beds 10 bathrooms 10. I definitely give 10 out of 10. Isis is the absolute best. Anticipates all you need. She made my stay great!!! I signed up for the rewards program and im here again. Love this place.

Fantastic experience at this hotel while traveling through Panama City to surf in Bocas Del Toro. I stayed here both on the way in and on the way out of the country. The hotel is extremely clean with great amenities, including a rooftop pool and restaurant. Hotel staff is exceptional, and I very much appreciated their professionalism and courtesy. Jonathan at the front desk went above and beyond to facilitate my check-in process and ensure my comfort while staying here. I also enjoyed chatting with Rubén while eating at the rooftop restaurant. Muchas gracias a todos y seguro que volveré cuando pase por Ciudad de Panamá en el futuro. Que Dios les bendiga.

I stayed here for a week June 2022. The neighborhood is a mix of restaurants and apartment buildings. Most of the restaurants in the area are all good. The exterior of the building needs a paint job but the lobby and interior of the hotel is well kept. I did not see or use the restaurant or gym. I did visit the pool and it was very small and the upstairs lounge was under construction. It's a regular size room for 2 people. They don't provide wash cloths. Housekeeping came every day but didn't do a very good job as sheets/comforter never changed and desk not wiped down or floors cleaned properly. Other than the a/c and bathroom vent being very loud it's fairly quiet. I was very disappointed with the very small flat panel tv on the wall and with it being on the opposite of the room from the bed it seemed even smaller and it doesn't provide streaming channels.

It has a good location and view, but they don't clean the rooms, I spent many days in it I found the room in the same condition.... For the rest it's good service.
