think that the good reviews are fake ones because how can this hotel get rated above 2 stars? The staff is extremely rude and indecisive, they kept denying us the room we’ve booked and ended up giving us a room underneath our wish. We booked a suite for 200 dollars and upon arrival they told us that the room doesn’t excist and don’t want to return our money. They keep interrupting you while talking and not making eye contact what shows of not having respect. Not even an attempt to come up with a solution. Everytime we went downstairs to ask for something they just answered rude (not even one smile or hospital feeling). The rooms were hot and smelled moldy, the airco was not working properly and the WiFi was a joke. It literally only worked at the lobby so when I went to complain about the WiFi they pointed to my screen and said: well see the WiFi is working. Breakfast was oke but also not worth your time, just eggs and cereal nothing special. No complimentary water during check-in if you book trough a travel portal and cleanliness is mwoah. In the morning you can hear your neighbors loud and clearly so keep that in mind. This hotel gave me 6-dollar motel vibes.

Stayed there for 4 nights (April 6nto 10, 2023) it was great. The room was clean right through and the staff were extremely polite and helpful. Breakfast was good n I even ordered dinner n it was delivered to my room (tasted really good too). Would definitely go back and recommend it to others.. Debi from Jamaica 🇯🇲

Amazing hotel. Very clean property, I have stayed here on multiple occasions and everything from staff, breakfast, rooms are all outstanding! The gym / machines need a serious change or heavy Maintainence. Rest is brilliant! Recommended..!

Let me preface that I had a free room with points here for two nights, so it’s hard to complain about anything for free. In addition, I picked this hotel because of its proximity to our Avis car drop off which was a 1/2 block away. And it was on our tail-end of our trip so we could regroup before we flew back. All that being said, the hotel was perfect for us. Plus, all the standard Hampton Inn comforts of their cozy beds, which I do love. And a super friendly and over-accommodating staff. Christian Flores who checked us in was so lovely and he went beyond the call of duty when he also placed a phone call for me in a panic when my Spanish couldn’t interrupt a situation. Seriously, he is what every hotel wants in a staff member. Hilton is lucky to have him. We were also greeted by the friendliest cleaning person in Panama when we arrived who was down the hall cleaning other rooms. Her smile and enthusiasm for her job was over the top amazing. And we left her a lovely tip. The hotel seemed to attract lots of tourists with kids, which is not my jam. The free breakfast buffet was packed every day but it did not appeal to us after fabulous meals all over the country. (The eggs were runny and the fruit not as fresh as our other hotels with free breakfasts, so we skipped breakfast entirely.). But it was busy, so this is clearly a picky point of view. Our room was totally fine, except someone forgot to re-install a fire alarm, which was ripped out of the ceiling. I didn’t plan to start a fire, but it certainly makes me feel a tad more secure to see an actual fire alarm. View from our room was lovely. And we checked out the pool before we left but were too busy to enjoy it. Plus it was full of screaming kids, so not relaxing even if we did have time. Free parking for our rental car, which was great. And we loved the local photo scenes around the place that make Panama so unique. Shower was also nice and big. Plus lots of Sink counter space and desk counter space, which is always a bonus. But because this hotel is clearly a tourist location for families, they had private vendors in the lobby selling “tourist packages” to the canal and other locations. These vendors were aggressive and annoying. Feels like a Times Square hustler. My suggestion is to get rid of these vendors. It cheapens the hotel which is an international brand. This part of El Cangrejo is a little more busy and not as residential as well. Again, it served our purpose & the price was right. And if you are a Hilton Rewards member, it will feel familiar and you can get or exchange points like me too.

The check in service was quick and we were given a couple hours extension for check-out. However, for the price water should have been included at least. The room had a mildew odor with some water stained walls. It was quiet and safe.

My stay at the Hampton was very good. Starting from the front desk or concierge, all the way to the housekeeping staff. Very attentive to detail and always willing to help. Thing that they need to improve is the breakfast buffet, it was a little disorganized went we attended. Also the pool area was a little dirty.

We rented 2 rooms for 4 Nights. Hotel was clean, the staff were friendly and helpful, but the beds and pillows were not what we’d expect from a Hilton, and made for not so great night sleeps. Also, we had problems with cold showers, seems like the hot water kept running out.

The only redeeming part of this hotel was the young man and young lady at the front desk. They were super nice. 1/4 of the room was 12 foot high windows with a drape that would not shut. After 4 days of requesting repairs so we could have dark room to sleep we just gave up. One day no water for hours. Maid took wife's key and we had to chase it down. Towels were not delivered with maid service. We got those at 7 pm so no afternoon shower unless you buy your own. Definitely not a normal Hampton

How can this even be a Hilton property? I am Lost. STAY AWAY FROM HERE. The front desk is not always the friendliest but the main concern here the state of the hotel. The room is extremely musty and moldy. All the furniture is worn and I was itching all night in bed. There is a smell that is unbearable and I can go on. The staff lied to me about not having a suit, despite selling it on the Hilton website, but the blames corporate for their mistakes. In the shower you can forget conditioner or a blow dryer, all essential things that we can expect from a Hilton. But no. I think corporate needs to examine this place immediately.

The hotel room was nice and clean. I will say though that the hall way smelled like pee. I recommend that they change out the carpet.

Lovely stay and it's nestled right on the busiest strip so there is a lot to do and see without going too far. Service was great as well

Cristian Flores at the front desk treated me as if the hotel was his rather than being a staff. He's an asset to the hilton brand. Whenever there was an issue he dealt with it personally and made me feel welcome in my stay . Apart from that hotel is great when you're on a budget good clean rooms for the low . Breakfast isn't wide on selection especially for me the eggs had bacon

Rooms are fine. Location is good. However the breakfast is awful. Very limited selection and what's there isnt good. The oatmeal is watery, the bread is stale and the coffee is weak. A continental breakfast would honestly better

Overall experience is OK. Very helpful staff. The room didn't have a hair dryer and the curtains allowed a lot of sunlight to pass through. Internet was VERY POOR. Slow and really bad room coverage.

The staff was very friendly but the hotel had way too many roaches. The staff tried to accommodate me by giving me another room when I showed them a picture of the dead roach in the first room. Soon as I opened the door to the new room, all the baby roaches tried to run for safety. I decided to leave in the middle night and go somewhere else because I didn’t feel comfortable and requested a refund. I have yet to hear anything back.

For the price is a great place to stay for a weekend or business trip. I like the staff was very friendly. The location is great, have stores and restaurants. The bed was very comfortable and the room was big with a city view. Very quite so I sleep well. They need more attention to detail and outdated some features in the hotel. I am very picky with the cleanness part , because the pandemic and the bedbugs. The bed sheets and the mattress looks very clean. The floor and bathroom was clean but need to be more into details. You can see in the pictures the rustic hand soap holder and the wall have some stains. Also the chair fabric is old. The breakfast is FREE but is very disappointing, is very poor, white bread, watery coffee, some eggs, juices and that it. Better to go to another place for breakfast. But if I need to go back absolutely I will stay in this hotel for sure.

Rooms are dated, kind of a little depressing, but you can sleep fine. Cleanliness is so so. The whole place has seen better days but still doable for the price. The breakfast is the worst part, very very poor and unhealthy. The tables plates and setting were uninspiring too.

Waited in line for over an hour to check in to the hotel. It took 20 minutes at the restaurant to be acknowledged. 40 minutes to get a glass of water. Clearly understaffed and untrained employees. Bad experience

As soon as I walked in I was greeted with a smile and great hospitality from the staff. The rooms were amazing as the beds were so comfortable and so spacious compared to other hotels that have very small rooms. The bathroom and room was very clean and can tell they care deeply about maintaining it. The rooftop pool was beautiful! The scenery and peaceful setting was something I won’t forget. The gym had all the necessities for you to get a good workout in and was also on the rooftop which was a new experience that I enjoyed. Anything we needed they were able to help us and would definitely recommend coming here again!

We ended up not staying! The first room was not what I booked. In the second room the AC was dripping a lot. Almost $100 for a night. Glad we didn’t stay.

Not a bad hotel as long as you don't need serice. I made the mistake of staying here a second time. I wrote off my first stay as an anomaly and just assumed the unfriendly service at the front desk was a fluke. Unfortunately it wasn't a fluke.

Never again I’m sorry but the rooms needs an upgrade old furniture it smells wet like humid the AC leaks all night thankfully we find out before someone falls down from the wet floor. We had room service one night and the chicken was hard horribly undercooked it gave as runs to the toilet and one of us got intoxicated leaving a swollen face and redness around the mouth the kitchen manager Enrique Campos didn’t handle this manner kindly we have to fight it and not because we need it the money but because he was rude and wanted to change the agreement we had already spoken earlier, I wasn’t going to complain about the food but once we have an intoxicated person them I did, and they didn’t like it almost didn’t believe us even tho we have pictures

I’d got to say I has a great stay at Hampton Panamá. Jackie and all of her staff were wonderful. They are very attentive and the area is a very central and safe place in the city. I highly recommend this place. It is my new home away from home in Panama.

The staff made a good time in Panama better! Christopher and Christian were so accommodating and personable. We spent two major holidays there while in Panama. It was so nice to see the staff dressed in their cultural attire to celebrate each occasion. We even received a souvenir from Panama. The assistant manager Enrique was always interested in how our stay was. All the staff was great!! We will definitely be returning

Everything was very good except the complimentary breakfast which was certainly not up to Hilton standards perhaps if everyone answered that a survey and complained about it they would upgrade it to something got a gas would look forward to going down and eating in the morning

Excellent Customer Service by the front desk staff. The rooms including furniture, carpeting, and building needs updating/upgrading.

The visible areas in the rooms were clean, under the beds was disgusting and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months. The passageways were were hot and stuffy. The water pressure in the showers wasn't great. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rules like you can only swim for a maximum of 1 hour at are a time are rediculous especially when there is no one else there. Breakfast wasn't great either and was served in a polystyrene take away dish.

Not a good property. Plenty of cockroaches and the internet was far too slow to even do work that didn't involve any streaming or video.

  • 4/5 Terry S. 2 years ago on Google
Staff was excellent ! Food was good ! Cost of the room was a little excessive for the environment/area. Panama is almost a third world country. You would expect the dollar to go a little farther when staying in a hotel.

The room is spacious and the bed is comfortable. The view we had was not great from the 4th floor. The pool area is nice and the view is much better. The free breakfast in the morning is disgusting.

I'm a Hilton Diamond members and I was rather disappointed with the breakfast, rooms and especially some of the front desk staff who act very authoritarian towards clients. I might not go back, because the hotel is not up to Hilton standards.

Excellent staff, clean room with very large comfortable bed, free wifi and safe. Loved the hot, free breakfast and fruit to start the day off. Definately did not need lunch, so could spluge a little on dinner. Gracias! Will stay again!!

The hotel is not up to the Hilton brand. I received room 110 and the room was not great. There were paint chips, bed not made up, the amenities that was was on website I had to request and still didn't receive. The breakfast wasn't good to me. The hotel service(front desk) was none existing, except one team member named Kabayai whom helped me check out early and fix my refunded that I was owned for leaving hotel early. I looked up and the hotel was a tow star and it shows from the service or lack thereof.

We had minor issues with the air conditioning and toilet in the room. Staff was helpful, quick and polite in the matter. Also, breakfast was very limited. It's the type of hotel if you are looking for just a place to rest if you're on the move.
