Nicely decorated rooms, BUT... There is a rooftop bar/restaurant La Zotea, where extremely loud music is played very late at night. It disturbs and a good sleep is impossible. Also, all rooms are settled around an open atrium. So you hear all people entering or leaving the hotel. I woke up at least 5 times a night... No breakfast. Rarely hot water. What more can I say?

If you are looking to stay in a moldy concrete bunker this is the place for you. Half of the lights didn’t work in our room so it was very dark (there are no windows in the room). The remote batteries for the tv were also dead. There was a strong smell of mold in the room, furry mold was growing in the shower. Can’t be good for health to breathe all of that mold. Also there wasn’t a blanket on the bed. We asked a couple of times for a blanket and after a while got a very very thin blanket delivered to our room. We asked if late check out was an option so we didn’t have to be in the streets with our luggage for a couple hours, and they said they were full but we could leave our stuff in their storage lockers. When we went to check out and leave our belongings the manager acted very annoyed even though he said it would be okay. I would not recommend this hotel, you would be far better staying at a hostel like Selinas a few blocks away where the rooms are clean, you get fresh air, and the employees are accommodating.

Stayed 5 nights in a second floor room which I found quite comfortable and a great value especially given the fantastic location in Casco Antiguo across the street from the waterfront Plaza Centenario. I stayed here in March 2021 during COVID pandemic when Panamá had 10 pm nationwide curfew. I see some people complain about noise from the popular rooftop bar above the hotel (different owners) but since there was curfew that was not an issue for sleeping and at least from my room I did not hear much from up there anyways. (I was a solo traveler I tried to go to that rooftop bar they sat me in a back corner and ignored me for 20 minutes so I left.. ) Hotel staff did my laundry in exchange for tips. Very helpful folks at reception who provided advice about how to get around the city and where to get a COVID test I needed prior to travel elsewhere. Rooms are basic concrete and between room and bathroom there was a curtain rather than a door but very comfortable I was quite pleased given the price. My interior room was somewhat dark even with all the lights on, but I wasn’t there to produce oil paintings so I didn’t really need great lighting.

We had room number 11 which is just outside the entry so we could hear all night people go up and down the elevator outside who were waiting to go to the roof top bar ,talking loud . we were on the first floor, we still could be hear the loud dancing music with very strong bass . Room was clean and people friendly . but I think it's a great hotel if you just go to sleep after 2am.

Staff is extremely rude. I arranged the delivery of flowers to a friend staying in the hotel and called the reception to notify so they would let my friend receive it. They told me there was no problem that the florist could deliver in reception and they would get it to the room. When I called back to check if it was delivered, the staff answered that it wasn't their responsibility to deliver it and that I was irresponsible in leaving flowers in the reception, without being able to answer the person hung up.

This is the loudest hotel I've ever stayed at. There's a bar/club that's open until 2am on the third floor and most of the rooms are on the second floor. If laying in bed while you can hear and feel EDM music at full volume is your thing, then stay here, otherwise find somewhere else.

I wish I would have read through the reviews better... There is a rooftop bar on the 3rd floor, which turns into a nightclub with loud music. And since it's only 2 floors with hotel rooms, and poor insulation, no matter where your room is you’ll hear the DJ playing as if he was just outside of your room. Also, as shared in other reviews, most rooms are small and dark and the bathroom has no door which is a bit strange. Poor value and I wouldn't recommend staying here unless you plan to stay out until the rooftop closes, after 1AM. There was no housekeeping during our stay and none of the TVs in the hotel rooms were working.

Two really weird things about this hotel that are not disclosed on the website are their entire patio upstairs, one of the largest selling features based on the photos is closed at 4 because it turns into a restaurant. The rooms also don't have doors to the bathrooms in suite, poor value for the neighborhood.

Cold water only in showers , rooms are sooooo loud and shake at night from the rooftop bar until 4am. They smell like a wet basement too. Staff was nice and restaurant upstairs is cool but I would not recommend if you need to sleep . Location is also good

Room was extremely loud due to nightclub on 3rd floor. Went until 2 am. We were on 2nd floor and couldn’t sleep(even with ear plugs). If ever you stay here do not stay on 2nd floor rooms 22-28 or else you will experience what we did. As for the bathroom it was sufficient but definitely needed to be upgraded. Beds were comfortable and they did have Netflix(to help drown out noise). 😜 Staff were pleasant but not much they could do to accommodate us changing rooms.

The guy at reception literally gives you ear plugs because the noise from the rooftop nightclub is so intense. Do not recommend if you are looking to get any sleep at all.

Lovely beds if you can enjoy them with all the noise from the " rooftop patio" (disco/bar) and neighboring rooms.. Plumbing didn't work... Patio door didn't open... No bueno. Not worth the money

Amazing staff nuce and friendly. Smells mlod and mildu so if you are allergic definitely a no no, although AC helps. Check in is 3pm. Rooms very tight but ovrrall clean. 120$ per night. good vibes good location though.

Quick stop over at the end of our vacation. Perfect location. Short walk into the old town.

I booked this hotel 2/26-2/28. I was totally scared when I walked in the dark hallways however the staff at front desk was extremely nice and gave us a balcony view upon check in. Our stay was not pleasant at all. The rooftop restaurant and bar played loud music until very late after 2 am night. The location is very very close to the street; the noise level is beyond tolerable and on 2/27 there was no water for 4 hours ; so we could not take a shower after we got in from a hot day. They were not very attentive to complaints or apologeticThe rooms are extremely dark with dim lights; cement type walls. The air conditioner had a neon lights that regulated the air but was extremely bright.I definitely do not recommend this hotel. Not a pleasant stay.

I stayed in a "Superior with Balcony" room on Feb. 23, 2023, & paid $105. The clerk let me check in a few hours early, and also let me store my luggage for a few hours after I checked out, for free. The location is excellent for walking around Casco Viejo or the Cinta Costera. I felt safe because I could see police stationed on the sidewalk about one block to the north and one block to the south when I walked out of the hotel. I read reviews about loud music - I did not experience that, but I stayed on a Thursday night. My only gripe is that there was practically no water pressure in my room that night, so I wasn't able to shower when I wanted to. I complained and the clerk said there was nothing she could do because it was due to construction.

You might as well put the bed on the dance floor but you couldn't get any closer to deafen music. Only cold water showers. In room coffee machine didn't work. Only lock on the door is the little twist kind on the handle and you could just push the door open. Air conditioning functions well enough at night but not strong enough for daytime. The location is great, if you don't plan to sleep.

This is the only review you should have to read about this place. Under a nightclub and the noise is deafening till 1 am weekdays and 3am weekend days. The hot water is spotty, and was broken for us. The climate in Panamá is brutal so naturally they close the pool at 4 pm! The elevators close at 10 The location is pretty bad; maybe good prices for Casco Viejo but to get into the actual old town there isn’t even a side walk outside of the hotel. You probably shouldn’t stay here.

This hotel is amazing! Yes it’s loud at night but what do you expect it’s under a nightclub?! The room was such a great combo of modern and historic. And so sexy! The staff was so kind and helpful and the restaurant was the best food we had!!

  • 1/5 Pablo M. 10 months ago on Google
Very bad hotel. Eventhough it has pretty rooms, you can't sleep in any of the rooms of the 2nd floor. There is a terrace on the 3rd floor that plays extremely loud music up to 2am and then they start moving everything in the roof until 3:30am! Even with ear plugs it is impossible to get some sleep. On top of it all, the sheets on the beds are dirty!!! There is no way I will ever stay on 300usd hotel where you can't sleep and the guests are not important.

This is the worst place I have ever stayed. In a hotel I look for clean sheets and for my property to not get stolen. This place could not do either. First night, the bed had large bugs and human hair. I asked the front desk for new sheets, but she refused to give us them and reminded me about how they “upgraded” our room (our original room had a broken TV, but the new room was next to loud street construction for three straight days). Second night, I asked to use the luggage room the next day for a brief 3 hours, and another front desk lady threatened to charge me $34 for an extended checkout while giggling with the blue haired worker from the first night. The rate of storage posted is $5/night. As we were packing up to leave, we realized some souvenirs were missing from our room. The front desk asked us to check our luggage for the items and later asked me to check again because the cleaning ladies didn’t believe me. We were forced to run out and buy them all again in a rush before catching our flight. Hotel staff had nothing to say but “sorry.” The housekeepers claimed they never saw a bag of souvenirs. If they mistook it for trash, I’m not sure why they didn’t also clean up empty water bottles. It was missing after the first night, when the blue-haired worker felt bothered by my reasonable request for new sheets. The hotel was dirty, the area is loud with construction during the day, during the night the rooftop bar blasts music, and the staff is unprofessional.

Hip venue on the edge of the main tourist area, casco viejo. Cool bar/club with a pool on the top floor, and two restaurants attached. A good value for the location and amenities.

  • 1/5 Scuba J. 8 months ago on Google
It's now Saturday morning 1am and they're still blasting music so loud it's like we're front row at the club. No sound proofing. It's a nightmare. We can't sleep. Who puts a nightclub above the rooms without sound proofing?

The rooms are clean and nice but without window. It is crazy noisy. If you want to get some rest, don’t even consider it.

My room was comfortable. But it is under a bar that play loud music until 1am although it somehow doesn’t bother me as much as I thought it would. The staffs are nice and helpful. Affordable price for a great location in Casco Viejo.

This hotel proved impossible to sleep in, due to it having a booming discotheque on it's roof. Nice if you want to crash after a night of partying, awful if you need to sleep. Also no windows, no breakfast, high price. Don't go.

Pool can be used just to 12 md because La azotea restaurant opens the door at that time and is not more a privately Pool.

Location is good. Stayed 3 nights. Breakfast is delicious, and people are kind. Front desk people are kind. The room too old, like in a prison. The roof bar view is very nice. Should be 3 star hotel

Excellent location, friendly staff. However, room 117 very small, no space for chairs or Mini table. Hotel was charming

Fresh, confy, quiet, nice people, cool rooftop and a super helpful 1pm check out.

The experience was not the best. They did not find my reservation, they gave me a room that had no balcony, had a damaged air conditioning (did not cool at all, and the room had no ventilation to compensate for the lack of air). We had to request the shampoo and soap ourselves. There was no hot water or tv control in the room. The noise from the roof too was the least of my concerns.

  • 2/5 Ghadah A. 1 year ago on Google
The two stars are only for the outstanding amazing staff and the very convenient location. Rooms were ok.spotless and organized. They charge for keeping you bag in storge which is very weird if they know that you'll return for a 2nd booking. This is not a hotel where you can literally sleep. There's a restaurant on top in the same building that plays music in very high volume untill very late hours! The staff say they have no control over this noise. Until the hotel management take an action to put an end to this, I don't recommend travllers to stay here.

  • 1/5 Osvaldo V. 1 year ago on Google
They could not find our reservation. Eventually they give us a room that was clearly a downgrade from what we had reserved. No windows, damaged AC, no ammenities ( we had to ask for everything). Everything seemed very informal and improvised

  • 2/5 Michael W. 1 year ago on Google
The rooms are cement cells. Windowless. I felt like I was waiting for the jailer to arrive. The location is at the edge of the Casco Viejo with no easy way to get to the center. And the hotel has no map of the area

This place is a night club! Do not stay here if you’re trying to sleep… please read all the one star reviews before booking a stay here.

  • 2/5 Niels K. 2 years ago on Google
Room had not been properly cleaned for a long time. Spiderwebs full of dust in the room. Had not been cleaned for ages under the bed. Dust and sand fell of the brick walls. No rooms in the window.

Very nice staff members, location and room. The employees were very helpful and kind with me. The room wasn’t that big but I loved the use of lights, the see through glasses in the bathroom and front and especially the industrial aesthetic. The location was exceptional because it was right in the middle of the old city and close to the coast. If I go back to Panama, I would definitely stay there again. Thank you Hotel Casa Panamá.

  • 1/5 Tanner H. 1 year ago on Google
We stayed on a Friday night, loud music past 1 am. Literally could feel the music in bed. Can’t recommend a hotel where outside noise is such a problem.

  • 4/5 Lauren V. 1 year ago on Google
location is everything! right at the beginning of casco viejo and perfect to walk the town. Our room was large with a king bed and a balcony. It was very clean and very secure. The only negative is that the pool is only open from 10am to 4pm and is on the rooftop which is basically a restaurant/bar/ club. There are no pool chairs to lounge and also no umbrellas by the pool. It also didnt seem very clean nor inviting due to people eating at tables right up to the side of the pool. If you have plans on relaxing poolside do not book this hotel.

This place is located in Casco Antiguo. The hotel was nice but difficult to locate. We passed it several times without realizing it. There needs to be a bigger sign outside.
