Beware of a driver they have that sits out front in a dark van, has his name on his front plate starts with Z. He is kind at first charging ypu close to uber rates. Then when he has your trust and business for a couple of days. He scams you. Took a what should of been at the most a $60 ride round-trip to ferry. Charged $160 . If Aloft allows a driver like this out front. Just beware.

I had had the opportunity to stay at this hotel for work and I found the service to be good. I stayed a few days in personal mode and I really liked it. Good service, friendly staff with a good attitude, clean and large rooms, very good location and the The hotel is associated with the Sheraton where there is a very good spa.

Compared to the Sheraton Grand Hotel, Aloft is the clear winner. The rooms are much nicer, larger in size, newer decorations, furniture and decor, have nicer more comfortable beds, faster Wi-Fi, quieter rooms all of which is at a cheaper price than the outdated ugly, worn out rooms inside the Grand Sheraton Hotel of which it shares the same lobby and or building.

Luckily we only stayed here one night in order to be closer to the airport for an early flight. We pre-scheduled an Uber for a 0430 am pickup from our hotel to give us plenty of time to check in at the airport. Upon arriving at the Aloft Hotel, it seemed rather straight forward, we were greeted upon entering and directed up the escalator to check in. Check in was pretty simple and the lady at the desk explained the restaurant situation to us. We got a room on the 16th Floor so had a decent view and at first it was super quiet. Upon entering the room it did look a little run down, but we figured oh well it is just one night. We did noticed on the top shelf of the closet that it appears someone left behind a plastic faceshield from a previous guest and that housekeeping may have missed. I don't think these come standard with the room and upon examining it, it was dirty, but I did wash my hands afterwards. One thing we did like was the Brewpub downstairs, the food was pretty good and reasonably priced. We then got settled in for the night and after the noise quieted down in the hallway, we did get some sleep. The next morning we were up bright and early to catch our Uber for the airport. Upon going down to the Lobby we noticed that there was nobody to be found, not a single humanbeing in sight nor a notice on how to get ahold of one. We also quickly noticed that the doors to the hotel were completely locked at all entrances and we could not get out. Our Uber showed up and we tried to explain to him through the glass that we were trapped inside the hotel. We called out for a person several times with no response, we searched for a phone number or anything to get ahold of someone with no luck. We finally decided to wonder the hotel in search of a human. It took us walking all the way to the lobby of the attached Sheraton Hotel to finally find a security guard. He had to unlock the hotel door on the Sheraton side to let us out, then we had to walk a block around the hotel back to the Aloft entrance and luckily our Uber waited for us. This all could have been prevented if the hotel would have let us know that they were going to lock us in from the beginning or had a security guard on the Aloft side to let us out. First and last Aloft experience.

Room was great but breakfast was terrible. The management really needs to put some effort into the breakfast. What few food options they offered was bad quality. Only the fruit was good.

I was very impressed with this hotel. The staff was friendly, the room and different areas of the hotel were very clean. The pool was nice, a couple of bars for drinks, a pool table to hang out. The free breakfast was amazing and it was very convenient and safe to walk to restaurants and shops.

Enjoyed our stay. The rooms were nice. The view of the ocean was spectacular. We stayed twice on two occasions over a 10-day period. The breakfast was basic, but it was adequate. Had to take Uber to go places. The fare and frequency was good and very convenient.

The room was very comfortable and contained everything you could possibly want or need. lots of variety for breakfast and this was also excellent. Today is my 4th day at hotel and I will be staying here for next 6 days. I am giving the 5 star to Hotel Aloft Panama. Although I am from Pakistan and never taste the Panamanian type of food. They must prepare some Indian style food and all other things are perfect.

As a Titanium member at Marriott I can say: More than poor. No WIFi in the room, safe not working, mold/fungus in the room. Have send a complaint to the management (Darling Pinto). Waiting for a solution since 3 days. This is far away from any Marriott standard.

The rooms are nice and the staff is friendly and helpful. It has a great view of the city. I ended up checking into a different hotel after a few days because there are no overhead lights above the desk, meaning working after dark (5:30) is pretty impossible. There are also no lights directly over the bed so I couldn’t even sit there to work.

Ok hotel overall but way overpriced for what it is. Rooms are good size, bed/pillows pretty comfortable, but very odd way of arranging the sheets (no fitted sheet, 3 differrent "top" sheets and some weird flannel sheet and then the duvet, just odd). Internet was good first day then on night of second day was going in and out constanstly, totally unexcusable at this price point. Lots of stains all over the shower floor and shower is designed weird so you have to be inside with door shut to turn it on or else it will blast all over you and the floor outside. Scratches all over one of the desks, again no excuse for this. Very minor repairs to do. They need to train their cleaners not to absolutely bang walls and make maximum noise when they're cleaning. If they are cleaning any room close to you (which was happening very frequently when I was there) good luck working, relaxing, napping etc. Really doesn't take making that much noise to clean a room. I also had some random guy (think it was an employee) sitting on one of the desk chairs from one of the rooms on his phone about 5 feet from my door one night. Sitting there for hours. Very odd never experienced in a hotel anywhere in the world in my 45 years of life. Front desk is ok for the most part, not rude, not nice, just kinda there. Although the last young gentleman that I dealt with was very good (wish i got his name). Theres no way this should have a 4.5. It's in a nice neighborhood and it's just barely ok with tons of problems. Really overpriced, step it way up if you want to charge these prices.

Huge room which was greatly appreciated after staying in some very small rooms. View of the ocean which is always nice. Room was clean and housekeeping did a good job of keeping it that way. Red restaurants food was extremely good and the waiting staff was excellent. Restaurant not very busy but was still staffed.

Aloft is a boutique hotel located next to the Sheraton, a larger and slightly more expensive hotel. Aloft shares parking with the Sheraton and has a modern, urban style in the lobby and a restaurant called "Red" that serves fusion food. We went to the restaurant. It was slightly overpriced, and there were no desserts/cappuccino available. It was around 8:30pm and there were no customers and service was friendly but very slow that I actually worried that we were ordering outside of restaurant hours! I recommend the wings and fries from the XYZ bar menu. The parking didn't cost me anything when I was there. I got in and out without any issue and I did not pay for valet service. I didn't have the greatest of views from the hotel, but it didn't really matter. The beds were very comfortable and the pillows were especially like sleeping on clouds. The amenities in the room were modern as well as the decor. The large shower had hot water. The television was a nice flat screen. I was able to get an additional trundle bed for my daughter at no additional cost. The coffee maker worked fine and ice was available in the lobby. I tried to call for room service to get additional coffee packets, and I couldn't get through, so I walked down to the front desk. It all worked out. A really nice feature is that a "grab-and-go" snack service/convenience food was available in the lobby that allowed us to get some microwave popcorn and drinks. It was $12 for microwave popcorn, 1 bar of chocolate and three drinks. Jenga was available at the table for a quick game play to pass the time. It was a nice touch. The cappuccino machine was not working, which made me a little sad, but that's fine. I would stay here again. The pricing was fairly low in comparison to competitors. The staff was very nice and helpful. However, the hotel doesn't have any ocean views available that are worth looking at. When I asked for one, they gave me a ocean view with a large and ugly building blocking it. I get the feeling that they get a lot of customers who make demands that make the counter staff quite weary. The views from the pool area also were mostly disheveled buildings. The pool was nice and big enough for a few families to enjoy with easy-access bathrooms. My daughters and I enjoyed our time at Aloft. The restaurant at the Sheraton, Las Hadas, is also very easy to get to from Aloft and they have amazing desserts there. I would recommend eating there instead of Red, the ALoft restaurant. The hotel is only a quick 5-10 minutes away from Multiplaza Mall--an uber would be cheap. Atlapa is within walking distance if there is an event. We also really wanted to visit Cleo's Cat Cafe, which is close. There is also a coffee bean and tea leaf nearby and the famous Isthmus Brew Pub. ALoft is around $30-40 less than the Sheraton and is a nice budget alternative. For people staying at the Sheraton, I imagine that they could easily find free parking at ALoft instead of paying the Sheraton's valet fee.

We do not recommend and would not come back. The night we arrived to check in, the line was so long and there was only one girl at the front desk. The next night there were 2 girls twiddling their thumbs. We are platinum status and the front desk said we don’t get any type of welcome gift in the form of bonus points or breakfast, up upgrade to our room, absolutely nothing (that’s a first for us!). We get to our room and there‘a only 1 face towel and no extra towels. No towel ring or bar to place the face towels around the sink area. No counter space, the shower gel was empty, the sink or fridge was leaking, the toilet paper holder has no stopper so the toilet paper keeps rolling off, the main light didn’t work, the shades were super raggedy and didn’t block the sun in the morning and the beds face the window, the tv was tiny for the size of the room and there’s no Netflix only cable. I could go on and on but that’s the main issues I can think of at the moment.

They advertise as being pet friendly , however, when we came down to eat there was no place for us to sit at breakfast. I am fully aware that you cannot bring pets into the main dining room and understand. But they have no other designated area for people with pets. We sat at the benches in the snack bar next door. When I asked the server if I could bring our plates out there, he replied " you better bring them back!". Certainly an attitude problem and lack of training and customer service. I am sorry but I am a paying customer, and if you say you are pet friendly , then your facilities should accommodate guests with pets somehow. Do better. Train your staff.

This place his all the marks. Located in a great location near Paitilla and Viejo, it had access to three entire city but outside the busy downtown area. Breakfast is what you get from Aloft but I didn't eat the much. Room service was great with daily room turn down service.

We stayed here for a week during the holiday season, the hotel is in a great location but it definitely need a refresher asap. The service is not all that great. There was an awful smell in my sister’s room and all it was offered was a deodorizer, not another room or a small compensation…..not very good customer service. During the week we were there not once were the hallways vacuumed and there was plenty of thrash to be picked up. The furniture is looking very tired. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone until they do about all these issues.

This is a great location if you don’t want to stay in historic/busy/touristy Casco Viejo. The hotel is located off the main highway not far from the airport but in an upscale neighborhood of San Francisco where you can easily walk to great culinary delights and fabulous shopping. The views are also quite lovely from the rooms as well. The rooms are large and spacious for the price. The bathroom shower had great water pressure and a large walk in shower. Lots of counter space on the sink. I loved the bench for suitcases or other items in the room also. The front desk staff were mostly fluent in English even though we tried to speak Spanish with them most of the time. Most important, they were nice and always helpful. I will note that it was not uncommon for us to have to ask for extra towels or something else more than once. But we chalk that up to most hospitality employees now being overworked and overwhelmed. I still tip them generously and thank them kindly and a towel shortage is a first world problem really. I will also note that since this property was closed down for a good portion of the pandemic and they diverted guests to their connecting larger property of the Sheraton with full services, some of the normal “full services” may still be off a bit. For example, the front entrance of the Aloft was locked from like 12am to 6am and you had to enter through the Sheraton if coming and going. This may be because they didn’t have someone to greet guests in the first floor where the brewery is located to send guests to check in on the second floor? Either way, it was no big deal and we only had to deal with it two times on our final night while returning from dinner late and leaving for the airport the next day. Great overall hotel for the money. And a Marriott brand to boot.

While the property is pretty and well maintained, the service is awful. I did not feel like a valued Marriott member here. I stayed here once before for one night due to the low point cost, and I was disgusted as to how I was treated but I chalked it up to my late arrival etc. I came back to give it another chance, and again the point cost is almost half of the normal cost for the other marriott properties. This time it was even worst. They were not friendly at all, the service is cold and borderline rude. They didn't welcome me as a platinum elite member or offer my gift or give me an upgrade, and I can deal with all that but they refused to let me use a suite night certificate saying "I don't know what that is." When I explained what it was, they still wouldn't let me use it because "we don't do upgrades". I explained that they would receive a certificate as compensation, and they still said no. They wouldn't allow my companion to enter the room even though they had her name and finally gave in after making her go through drama after a 9 hour flight. No one cracked a smile and they acted like we were an inconvenience. So you can stay here for cheap, but you will still not have a marriott experience. They literally ruined my day.

Love this hotel, affordable and for the price the rooms are always neat and modern. Location is also really good right next to San Francisco area which you can find anything and also Multiplaza Mall

  • 2/5 Kesha R. 2 years ago on Google
The hotel has great aesthetics but when you get in the rooms they are not up to standard. The rooms smell old, they were dirty in some areas like the shower floor and the beds were not comfortable at all. Getting service was a nightmare. They only have 1 or maybe 2 people at the front desk for hundreds of guests, so if you need something simple, it is a 15 to 20 minute wait. Calling from the room is even worse. Most times the phone wasn't answered. The pool is at another hotel next door but that wasn't explained until we had to ask. Overall I would not recommend this hotel for a long length if stay. If you are staying a day or 2 max then it is okay. I was disappointed to say the least.

I stayed at Aloft Panama for 10 days and it was great! The staff was courteous and friendly. Isaac from the XYZ bar provided excellent service! He really made my trip, as he gave advice on what to visit in Panama. Thanks, Isaac!

Car service at the desk is about triple the cost of ride services but other than that... this place is perfect. Walking distance to many restaurants OR eat on property. Breakfast is great. Lobby bar is amazing and brewpub at the street level has a killer happy hour. It's about $5 to get to old town in Uber. The pool is beautiful and the room views are perfect. Highly recommend.

Has a good ambiance and good service. All staffs are helpful. The rooms are nicely arranged and well managed. The bathrooms and washbasin faucets are not comfortably controlled regarding hot and cold water. Toilets must be fitted with jet spray ,not just paperroll.

Not worth the price for a “4-star hotel.” My wife, son and I stayed there for a night and were terrible disappointed. The first room we were given was not clean, dusty and had a strong humidity smell. The second room we were changed to was better, but the a/c was leaking water on the carpet floor, the toilet was leaking and the shower was clogged. Overall it is visible the hotel lacks basic maintenance even in the common areas. Only positive aspect was staff friendliness

After previously staying in a hotel with the initials WA, I much preferred my stay at the Aloft. The rooms were large, clean, modern and very comfortable. The check-in staff was not only helpful but very friendly as well. We had a very tasty dinner in the hotel restaurant. It was reasonably priced. I would definitely stay here again.

Terrible customer service, shower doesn’t drain, safe box does not work and their excuse is that people still batteries. Called receptionist Cris to get a bed and couldn’t solve the situation. Then we had the DO NOT DISTURB sign up and hotel employee started knocking on the door past 10pm. STAY AWAY from this nightmare

Stayed here for a night after staying at another location downtown and it was great. I was a little nervous about the location but there are lots of restaurants and a supermarket within walking distance. Check in was super fast and easy. Wifi was super fast. The room was clean and everything worked as it should. I would definitely stay here again.

Bed bugs problem but nice room I stayed there for 4 nights and had a bedbugs problem. I discussed with the manager to get a compensation for my luggage and clothes which he agreed. However as soon as I checked out this offer disappeared and I had to cover all the cost of treatment myself to limit the infestation.
