Came from Canada, stayed for 2 nights. Was a nice stay. The only reason not 5 star was due to the first room they gave us was very humid and had a bad smell. We spoke to the front desk they were very understanding and helped get us into a better room and made us feel very welcomed. They even gave us the option to transfer to the holiday inn downtown if we wanted. We are really appreciate their help.

Bad things about my stay: 1. We got there at 4:30pm (the check-in is at 3pm) and the treatment that we received from the girl "Leonela" was awful. She took around 15 to 20 minutes to do a simple check-in process because she couldn't stop talking on the phone. 2. I made my reservation over the phone and they told my room had 1 king bed and the Canal viewing. Turns out Leonela gave us a room with pool viewing and 2 double beds (and we just needed 1, cause we're a couple). She tried to charge us extra for the king bed. 3. When we got to our floor (the 5th one) we couldn't enter our room cause Leonela gave us a key card that wasn't working so we had to wait a couple of minutes in front of the door for someone to bring us a new one. 4. The ice bucket that was in the room was filthy so we couldn't use it. 5. It has the smallest pool I've ever seen in a 4+ star hotel, the dimensions were about 5m x 2.50m. We couldn't get in. 6. The TV doesn't have a channel guide. 7. At breakfast you only have like 6 options and when I tried to get some tea, the machines didn't have water. Good things: 1. Beds and pillows are really comfortable. 2. It is very near the Panama Canal so you can see the ships from the street. I would never return here to be honest. I expected so much more for a worldwide known hotel chain.

I recently stayed in February 2022. The hotel is very dated and definitely needs improvements. Employee stealing is also a problem. I would not recommend

Rooms are antiquated and need deep cleaning, though surface is clean. Staff were very courteous and helpful. Breakfast was incredible

Good room value. No fridge in room. They want you to use their bar and restaurant which is bit expensive. They serve margaritas on the rocks in a small martini glass full of ice...3 sips and you are done. I would stay there again, but eat and drink elsewhere

Rooms are comfortable and clean. There is even a nice canal view from higher floors. Breakfast was great, tasty and plentiful. If you want to see the locks and/or to go to the Soberania Park, this hotel is great choice. Even though it was not cheap.

The hotel advertised a hotel airport shuttle on Priceline. This was the defining filter for my hotel search as an international traveler. I ended up having to book another hotel and was not refunded for the stay.

The place is really well kept together and well-maintained, breakfast was amazing. I recommended completely it’s fantastic and it also has a whole bar to. The front desk clerk was very helpful and also was bilingual, I was only there for one night, and I got in pretty late, but they have a pool that you can use that I saw a few people in which makes me think it’s very clean. My room was a little humid, but that’s just the temperature, but it smelled a little musky, either the smell went away, or I got used to it. The king size room was massive. My voice literally echoed in it I was there alone. The front desk, and also help you with taxi services in whatever you need.

The hotel itself and the staff were lovely and comfortable. Service this time was a big improvement from when I visited five years ago. Wifi coverage was also much, much better. It would be a great idea for the hotel to have a business centre and not just a desk in a corner since the majority of the clientele are there for conferences. This is a nice hotel if you want quiet natural surroundings. It's not a convenient distance from the city centre, especially with traffic.

The Holiday Inn Panama Canal was a fine hotel but not exceptional. The room was fairly standard and relatively clean and the service was acceptable. The best part was the view of the canal and being able to see the enormous ships move through the locks. This hotel is inside the City of Knowledge so if you have work there is conveniently located. There are several places to find food nearby which is good because the in house restaurant was lackluster. There were always Ubers available to take me into the city and back and there is also a bus station in easy walking distance. The neighbor is safe and quiet nice so walking around is generally pleasant. There is no self-laundry available or a laundromat in the city of Knowledge that I could find so you are stuck paying the high fee for laundry service or taking it out to the city. I had a strange incident where they thought I had left and so people kept trying to come into my room but no problems after it was resolved.

Good hotel and very nice. Rooms smelled a bit dank. Beautiful outdoor area. Free wifi. Inserting the key card to turn on the electricity is strange though and means you can't keep it in one space the entire time.

This is a great hotel! It’s not luxury but it is a comfortable hotel that is safe and hospitable. The staff was great, the breakfast was good, and the location is great! Close to the canal! You can even see the canal from some of the rooms!

Comfy rooms, great views, friendly staff, lovely pool area. Location is far from shops and town however you have a great view of the Panama canal and can walk there in 15mins

A young man found my reservation, and then said he needed a confirmation number. The woman at the other desk came over and and also demanded a confirmation number. I bought up the email confirmation and showed it to her. She made a comment to the young man quietly about me probably being a theif. The rooms have unacceptably poor lighting, and both toilet paper dispensers were lacking the roller that holds the toilet paper roll in place. This is called a 4 star hotel, but it is no different from 3 star hotels. I recommend you stay at a different hotel.

Service is very slow. Also, this is the first hotel ever that I’ve seen that doesn’t allow you to use stairs. I am claustrophobic and don’t feel comfortable using elevator. But apparently you CANT use the staircase. Hotel staff was not helpful with this at all.

Just fyi there is not laundry machines. They send out by the piece and it is pretty pricey. The view is nice and the hotel is safe and has a good view.

This is a lovely hotel, basic but well kept. We reserved the only suite in the hotel which gave us a separate sitting area with a TV and a small fridge. We loved the option of a fridge for cold drinks and water without having to go down to buy them. We were at first disappointed as our suite had no view of the Panama Canal. However, we quickly realized that it also insulated us from the traffic noise from the trains, ships and busy road in front of the hotel. We took the breakfast package and did most of our dining at the hotel in the Ship View Restaurant. The food was always good although some buffet items could have been hotter, but there was a decent selection of fruit, pastries, cold cuts and hot items. Dinners were good and the dining area was quiet except at breakfast buffet. I cannot say enough good things about the staff, always helpful, personable and busy. After day 2, they greeted us by name, always smiling….nice people. This is the only hotel in the last 6 months that we have seen the staff wearing masks ALL the time (Puerto Viejo and Bejuco in Costa Rica as well as a resort in Ixtapa, Mexico were not as diligent). It is not convenient for being out and about as it is not close to a lot of attractions and we did not rent a car. The only downside.

Basic no frills hotel. View of canal, front desk very friendly and helpful, and spoke English. Quiet room. But, only 1 coffee ☹️ and 2 teas for 4 people.

Although we stayed here back in 2014 when we were coming to meet our future son in law, now that we live here in Clayton, we find it a perfect place to take photos of ships coming through the Mira Flores locks on the Panama Canal. A friend had a sister who was on this ship so we came down and took pictures to send to her. When we stayed then, in 2014, it was quite lovely! Beautiful place with a perfect view of The Canal!

I am generally satisfied, but I need to check the condition of the shower booth. The water pressure is weak, so it's a little inconvenient to take a shower.

Perfect for our less than 24 hour stay! It's a short 5 minute uber ride from miraflores visitor center. It served its purpose. We just needed somewhere to stay overnight until our flight to Bocas Del Toro. It's a short 10minute drive from Albrook Airport. Great breakfast and staff. Rooms were a little damp. Pool was cute, perfect for the kids.

Very friendly and helpful staff. The room smelled really damp when we arrived and felt like it hadn't been aired out for months. There were dehumidifiers in the hallway so I guess they have issues dealing with the humidity. The room wasn't completely clean (dust and dirt in corners and some trash left in the bin) and it's obvious that the hotel is older and could do with some TLC.

The spacious room was the only pleasant thing of our stay. The attending crew at the restaurant was rude and did not offer us to solve matters when they are the ones that made a mistake regarding our food order. If you want good service, this is not the place for you.

I would have gave them 5 stars but the food delivery was delayed most of the time. But on other aspects, they scored great! The room was nice and cozy. The view is alright. They food is good. Staff were friendly and accommodating. The place is generally great. I would love to go back and stay again on their hotel when I visit Panama.

When I was told that families stay here during the weekend, nothing prepared me to the noise of unruly children shouting on the corridor at 22:43. I tried to contact the staff so they could have a word with their guests but, apparently, the telephone line was disconnected. My suggestion is that families should be booked on the same floor to spare other guests to stand this kind of behaviour.
