Not the best service for a Mariott hotel. Initially a problem with booking, upon arrival, on the Hotel side. They resolved it, after a long wait. Gave us a lesser room, resolved that (2 hours later), room was OK, missing towels, air conditioned did not cool the room,(intermittent) too warm to sleep at night The staff was rude, non responsive to questions. Appeared to not like Americans, regardless of our politeness. Other American Guests checking in, while i was waiting, were treated similarly. Outside the hotel, the people of Panama showed us a great adventure. Kind and reciprocating our politeness.

A vibrant hotel in a great location in the city. I highly recommend this hotel and I would definitely stay here again. The rooms are large and comfortable. Our room had a great view of the skyline. The only problem we had was that the rooms are dark at night. The overhead lights are very dim. However that was a small inconvenience. The pool are is beautiful. There are cabanas around and in the pool. There is also a poolside restaurant. There were several more restaurants on-site on the first level. And plenty more located within walking distance. There is a fitness center and a full services spa. The concierge and staff were very helpful. They helped arrange transportation to/from the airport and a few outings for us while we were there.

I recently stayed at Sortis Hotel Spa and Casino, and while I didn't exactly hit the jackpot at the casino, I still had a great time. The staff was friendly, the room was clean and cold (perfect for escaping the heat outside), and the breakfast buffet was fantastic. Now, let's talk about the casino. I don't know what it is about me, but no matter how many times I've been to a casino, I just can't seem to win. I'm pretty sure the slot machines have a personal vendetta against me. But hey, that's okay. I still had fun playing, and I'm pretty sure I made the dealers' day by donating all my money to them. But enough about my bad luck. Let's focus on the good stuff. The room was spotless, and the AC worked so well, I had to use the extra blanket provided to keep warm. And the breakfast buffet was definitely a highlight. There were so many options to choose from, I felt like I was at a foodie paradise. The bacon alone was worth the trip. All in all, I had a great stay at Sortis Hotel Spa and Casino. The only downside was that I had to leave and go back to reality. But hey, at least I left with a full belly and a sense of humor about my terrible luck at the casino.

Really enjoyed the Sortis. I've stayed in the W hotel and many of the other Marriott properties. Sortis is one of my favorites for the central location, the numerous restaurants in the first floor including a 24/7 restaurant called la Brasserie. The breakfast is excellent. The pool area has a great vibe with music, lounge areas, and lengthy pool to do some exercise. The rooms were spacious and I was able to get a deal of $99 per night and upgraded to the suite which was the best value I've found in Panama. Overall a great experience!! Recommended

Trying to reach the hotel for the last 3 weeks - Calling them, emailing them, as well as calling Marriott Corp. I have never had this much trouble trying to cancel or change a reservation. The hotel stuff and management are totally unprofessional. Trying calling the hotel - it goes directly to voicemail. I booked this hotel through American Express Travel and they have tried reaching out over a dozen times and no respond. Marriott get rid of everyone here and find new people.

Excellent place to stay for easy access to the highway to the airport! Beautiful time! Amazing hallways! Good selection of restaurants inside hotel. Very nice pool area!

A great centrally located hotel in the Obarrio area. I only had one complaint. The rooms are very dark! You cannot see yourself in the mirror at night. Make sure you do your makeup in the daytime! The rooms are spacious and have a lot of natural light. But the overhead lights are dim LEDs. No real perks for being a bonvoy platinum member. The free continental breakfast is only toast and fruit. No meat or eggs. However, There were plenty of amazing breakfast restaurants in walking distance. This hotel is located about a 5 minute walk from a train station for the underground train. The concierge was very helpful and the staff was quick to resolve any issues. There is a full service spa, a gym with peloton bikes, and a pool with cabanas. The pool has a restaurant and bar. The room service was quick and affordable. I highly recommend this hotel.

Great hotel amazing views.. felt like we were close to everything. They always had people eager to help. We rented a penthouse for buddies bachelor party and it was a dope setup. The casino was fun even tho I lost. There was a sportsbook nearby where you go hang watch a game, play pool. The food in the main buffet restaurant could’ve been better but there was a few of steakhouse nearby (I didn’t try) and a Lebanese restaurant (I would recommend) right around the corner walking distance. All in all very satisfied.

Facilities are clean, and modern. Customer service could use improvement. Bonvoy Titanium member means nothing here. No perks for loyalty. Breakfast $10. Hotel restaurant La Brasserie is terrible service. Better to stay at The Hilton.

Our visit at the Sortis was outstanding. Their customer was of the highest quality and deserves the best reviews! Jason, Aslhy, and the pool staff were super host. The bar staff at the pool always greeted me and made me feel like family. The security team was outstanding. My friends and I were giving presidential treatment and was treated well.

First time staying in Panama City on business. The Sortis is a great place to stay with everything you need. The rooms are clean, well appointed, and spacious. They have a 24/7 restaurant, La Brasserie, that provides the daily breakfast. The breakfast is a traditional European style, with many options for all tastes. I had 2 different servers that took care of me throughout my stay, Yessybell and Juana. They are both amazing at their positions, greeting me by name, and making sure I was well taken care of. The hotel has plenty of other dining options nearby as well so I would say it’s well located.

I’m giving this hotel 4 stars only because the hot tub wasn’t hot at all. The custom service on the other hand was absolutely amazing I give them 5 stars for sure! Kelly is on of the bartenders at the bar right next to the pool. She was absolutely amazing! Very attentive and made sure my friends and I felt right at home. Kelly is the epitome of customer service. She really made our stay here as best as it could’ve been! I’ll be back soon!

The Sortis is genuinely a fantastic hotel. The service is impeccable, and the property and amenities are well kept. The front desk staff went above and beyond to ensure ALL needs were met during my stay. Also, Ivan at the concierge desk provided 5-star service. As a former hospitality worker, I can tell this property prides itself on offering excellent service and ensuring guests enjoy their stay. Thank you, Sortis, for my first unique Panama City, PA experience. I will be back!

Very well located hotel with many amenities. The service though is very bad and sound isolation is nonexistent. I could perceive street noise from my room in 7th floor and it is impossible to sleep after other guests start moving and walking in the corridors and taking the lifts. The A/C fab is loud and has one speed. So it is either off, or on an loud. One day there was a queue for breakfast. I waited 20min standing in a line for breakfast. Something unbelievable especially in a 5 star hotel. I got less towels after the first cleaning by the housekeeper. Shampoo and soap is not refilled daily. But worst is the reception desk. Most employees are incompetent. Slow to react. They can’t even process simple requests like extending a reservation. Using the parking is horribly complicated. After 7 nights, I still don’t understand if I need to validate the ticket at the reception desk or the valet office. Receptionist sends me to valet who then sends me back to reception till I lose my nerves and starts shouting at one of them. Pool is freezing. And if you need a PCR/Antigen test for your trip, it is 50% cheaper at the airport. At the hotel, they work with a lab which charges 75 $ for an antigen test. It is 30$ at the airport. So, overall a hotel that I don’t recommend, especially it is one of the most expensive in the city.

Hit a straight flush at the casino at the Texas Ultimate Poker game. Casino should have paid over $2,5XX+ They refused to pay. The manager gave a lame excuse citing some rule that was never disclosed Avoid these crooks!

My wife has high standards for hotel rooms and she really liked the hotel and room. The first floor was nicely decorated with artwork and had various restaurants. She liked the breakfast buffet a lot. The service was great--I got pooped all over by a pigeon one day in the old town, had my clothes hanging in the bathroom of my room, and 2 days later saw the cleaning lady had left a bottle of stain remover to help get out the spots on my shirt/shorts. Thank you!

This was my birthday trip as well as my first time traveling solo out of the country and my first time in Panama. Very nice and professional staff. I checked in with Ruben who was fast and gave me the room location near the elevator that I desired. My room was nice, I absolutely love the large bathroom and that shower is to die for. I need that bed to take home It was so comfy I should have asked the brand. Julia and Ivan took care of me at the Marriott welcome happy hour and Ivan definitely looked out for me on my whole trip. They surprised me one day with balloons and dessert and decorations in my room for my birthday. Very thoughtful gesture. There's other restaurants and things right outside of the hotel that I walked to just be careful of traffic. The staff that would be in the hotel lobby was also helpful forgot the name but the one gentleman literally walked me to the outside restaurants. My only cons about the trip I felt the drinks could be stronger, they seemed watered down. I ordered chicken wings but they definitely were not good and really did not taste like chicken to be honest. Very tiny bones unlike a chicken so that was suspicious and the flavor. I also wish the pool stayed open a little bit longer than 6pm. Casino games were not that great And when you cash out you don't get your full amount they take out taxes! That was a horrible surprise. But it gave me something to do when I didn't want to leave the hotel. Couldn't figure out the coffee machine I suggest putting some clearer directions on there In English and perhaps with pictures so didn't get to use it. I also couldn't use a few more English speaking channels on the television. Overall cute hotel and nice stay.

Amazing experience! I actually lost my luggage on the way to Panama! Ivan at the front desk was a huge help calling the airlines and helping me get my luggage back! Great crew of people that work at this hotel very friendly and professional. I will definitely return highly recommended place to stay!! I would recommend to all friends and family.

We didn't stay at the hotel, but instead went to a private pool party hosted there across the carnival weekend. The pool party djs and atmosphere was good, however, the hotel really struggled to keep up with the amount of guests there. We got moved twice as there was no signs of reservations on tables and no one could tell us where was available to sit. The staff also couldn't cope with the demand of drinks and food orders so it either took ages to get served, or when served, they came and ask for the payment again, although we had already paid. I ordered some cheese sticks which came cold and we're gross. It was fun for the party, but I wouldn't stay here based on the service.

Beautiful hotel, top-notch customer service and comfortable bed with amazing shower! Our only complaint is that the pool closed at 6pm, which is way too early for any hotel. We also were not allowed to take coffee to go from breakfast, which was kind of strange. They made a pretty big deal about it. The bathrooms are big, and the showers are incredible!! Overall, it was a wonderful experience and we'd highly recommend! Marriott status was recognized, we were offered an upgrade and late checkout.

Nice hotel. I love the atmosphere, but the suite I was in needs updating. The countertops were so stained and furniture worn. I actually thought my room had not been cleaned because the stains on the countertops were so prominent (I wiped them to no avail). I was unable to stream Netflix so that's a problem when I just want to chill. I had to wait 1 hr for ice after asking twice!! If it's too much for the staff, then maybe invest in ice machines. Otherwise, it's a nice hotel in a great location.

Hotel was clean, staff was nice and beds were comfortable. AC was awful in the room, then it was on a motion sensor and shut off in the middle of the night. Awful night of sleep. Breakfast buffet was top notch. Casino was not very lively and on just one floor. We didn’t go in pool but it looked nice.

This place was absolutely amazing from the staff(Brittany, Omar and Ivan) to the beauty of the hotel. The staff made me feel like a Queen for my birthday stay from. 5/10- 5/14. The food was great especially the restaurant that served Sushi which I can't remember the name. They offer over 5 restaurants and love how they have a 24-hour restaurant. The spa was beautiful and the staff was nice. The rooms were nice and spacious. I love the bathroom shower. Love the happy hr for the Marriott Bonvoy members. Food and drinks were soooooo good. My friends love the Casino which they won some money. The hotel was in a great location as well. I can't express how much I truly enjoyed my stay here. Thank you so much.

Amazing experience as we had a birthday party at the Sortis in July 2023. The service was phenomenal, the views were spectacular, the beds were so nice and I experienced the biggest shower of any hotel room. There are no tubs in the standard rooms, but there is a significant amount of space. Jean and Gabriel were two staff member who were exceptional at their jobs. Very kind and helpful gentleman who greatly exemplified amazing customer service. Management also was very attentive to guest needs and our party needs. Highly recommend for a stay in Panama!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Sortis Hotel, Spa & Casino in Panama, and I must say it was an exceptional experience. From the moment I stepped into the hotel, I was greeted by friendly and accommodating staff who made me feel right at home. The hotel itself is stunning, with its modern and luxurious design. The rooms were spacious and well-appointed, offering a comfortable bed, sleek furniture, and breathtaking city views. I was thoroughly impressed with the cleanliness and attention to detail throughout the entire facility. One of the highlights of my stay was the spa, which offered a wide range of rejuvenating treatments. The therapists were highly skilled and the ambiance was serene, providing the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. In terms of dining, Sortis Hotel, Spa & Casino exceeded my expectations. The on-site restaurants offered a variety of delicious cuisines, prepared with the finest ingredients. Whether it was a hearty breakfast buffet or a gourmet dinner, every meal was a delightful culinary journey. The casino at the hotel was also an enjoyable experience. With a wide selection of games and friendly dealers, I found myself entertained for hours. Overall, I would highly recommend Sortis Hotel, Spa & Casino to anyone visiting Panama. The combination of exceptional service, stunning facilities, and convenient location make it a top-choice for both business and leisure travelers. I look forward to returning to this exquisite hotel in the future.

Great place, great food, great staff. Casino takes taxes out of pay outs which that may be a Panama thing. The double cheeseburger at the restaurant on the side of the hotel is the best o ever had!

We spent a week at the Sortis. The rooms are very spacious, clean, have great views from the 12th floor and the showers are huge. This hotel is located in an area that was very convenient for us. Ubers come in less than 4minutes and you can get to Old Town and many other places for $3-$7. The most we spent was getting to Gamboa and that was $22. The Casino was good w/a lot of slot machines. There are 6 restaurants to choose from we didn’t enjoy the quality of some of the foods we tried and the breakfast wasn’t worth the price for Us. Our favorite was Ciao Raggazi. We loved their lasagna, Alfredo & pizza. They have mint & strawberry lemonades that were blended fresh and delicious. Our server Julio was the best. Everything he suggested was great. All the hotel staff we came in contact with were very nice and helpful. We spent one afternoon at the Spa and I had to the women’s facilities all to myself. The Vitality pool, sauna and steam room are very large and relaxing. We really enjoyed our time at the Sortis Hotel, Spa & Casino.

Never again!!! I stayed for 4 nights, everything seemed very good, room service and very nice people, however the menu is not very attractive, but I could survive since it was my birthday and I wanted to have fun, until one day I left the room and left my purse as I was going on a jungle tour, I was robbed of $600 dollars. I said I would call the police and investigation but it's been a month and nothing has changed! looks like a gang! If you're ready to be ripped off stay there and it's a great place! sad

I stayed here for a week recently. The entire hotel staff was very nice and everything from the floors to the walls to the sheets on the bed were clean everyday. Everywhere there are signs to wear a mask and wash your hands. There are stations that have lotion for your hands on all levels...the restaurant, the casino, the pool. Pay for the breakfast when you book. Jose was excellent and as soon as I walked in he had my coffee ready. Outside you are near a few drugs stores, similar to Walgreens or cvs. There are a few restaurants also that are close and right across the street is Milano's, which is like a diner in the US and they have everything from breakfast and sandwiches to full meals for under $10. I need to go back to panama in October and November and I plan to stay a few days just to see Jose and eat the breakfast. Excellent hotel overall. And a pro tip: to get faster speed on your internet, use your phone as a Hotspot and connect to the phone while the phone is connected to the wifi. Not sure why, but I could play my xbox with hulu and everything this way while a straight wireless it would always drop. Highly recommend this hotel and I look forward to booking again here soon.

We stayed at Sortis for 2 nights. The casino is small but has a good selection of tables. The steak house made my steak perfectly. We ate at 3 of the restaurants on site, all had great service and good food options.

A pretty large hotel with multiple restaurants and activities on site. Friendly staff communicate in Spanish and English. Spacious and comfortable room, nice bed and pillows. Well equipped fitness center, and a big pool deck to top it off.

From the little bit that I experienced at the bar by the pool and the service at the various vendors at the hotel I would rate the Sortis very high. My best friend of course would rate it even higher. He could not lose at the blackjack table. He turned a few hundred bucks into over $1,000. They poured me so many drinks I don't know how I got home😅

Checks off all boxes. Location, value, service, food, amenities were all fantastic. This Hotel has a Casino, Exquisite restaurants, a night club looked fun for a younger crowd, and a Sports bar with massive screens, and pool tables. Again all excellent options. The Staff was kind enough to offer a nice upgrade for Wifey during her first week, (it pays to be elite). They were not able to offer an upgrade after re-booking, that was a bummer and somewhat odd, being that we were there during a regular weekday and they didn’t appear to have many Guests.. oh well! regardless, we still enjoyed our stay. Shout out to Valerio for making it a memorable stay, he takes pride in his craft, which was refreshing to see. Valerio is superb. Will check out other Hotels in the area in the future, but I would not be against here again some day down the road.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! Awful service, the hotel was pretty much empty for a reason. The service is probably the worst I have experienced, due to the fact that they don’t have any guests they charge for everything. There is a $35 charge to sit in a sauna!!! They will try to charge you for any little service it’s disrespectful. There was also lots of noise due to some construction on some floors and the A/C doesn’t work correctly my room didn’t even cool. Not sure how this hotel is considered even a 1 Star, horrible

This is my second visit within 6 months time at the Sortis. Absolutely can’t say enough good things about the staff, facilities and the atmosphere. This is only day 2 of my weeks stay and I know I’ll hate leaving. Everyone is kind and patient as I try to speak THEIR language and appreciate that I’m trying. I’m not understanding posts that complain about staff not understanding English - if you travel to a Spanish speaking country at your own free will, guess what? Exactly! Take that frame of thought back to where someone can coddle you and leave these kind people alone. Anyway, Sortis is great if you come here with the right attitude, you’ll likely find it and Panama a great place to visit.

Hidden gem of a 4 star hotel with amazing views. In the business district, 10 minute taxi/Uber ride to all of the tourist attractions on the water. You more than make up for any taxi costs by the price of the hotel and meals. Though you could spend your entire vacation in the hotel going to the casino and the spa and the rooftop pool and eating at the seven restaurants. Concierge Ivan and Montserrat are like hiring professional assistants to arrange meals, trips, shopping.

Hotel stay was actually very good. The staff, the location, the restaurants inside the hotel were very good and convenient. The reason for my 3-star rating is because the entire hotel smelled like mold. My room, the lobby, the hallway. It got into my clothes I'm back in the states now and had to wash the smell out of my clothes.

This hotel is now my go-to hotel when I visit Panama. The staff is excellent, and the vibe is fantastic. Jesus and Shaquille are two of the staff that works at the front desk and made my check-in an excellent experience and thanked me for being a loyal Marriott member. And I had the pleasure of being served on different occasions by Deysi and Genova. You have different restaurants to choose from. A perfect rooftop pool. A place to get your work out in, and I wish I would have taken advantage of the spa. You can go right to the casino through the hotel, and they even have a restaurant that is open 24 hours to serve you.

I was supposed to stay for two nights with my bonvoy points and when I arrived, I was charged $60 plus points. Then, swiped my card for incidentals which was fine, but demanded 3 times via phone that I come back downstairs to pay a $13 dollar restaurant bill charged to my room. However, when I asked for an ice bucket - to get some ice, I called three times over three hours to get an ice bucket sent to my room. I decided to check out early after one night and they returned my $60 and was told that I was incorrectly chat when I checked in. Long story to say ~ they need to tighten up the management and hospitality towards hotel guests. I moved to the Sheraton Grand Panama and it’s a class establishment.

Bought a day pass as wanted to watch a really big Liverpool game. They sort of had it on. Went off several times then one time it went off for 10 mins as the only person who knows how to work a remote control was on his break. Missed a goal. Last time trying here. It's always been worse than a joke.

Truly a beautiful hotel, quite modern & chic with great food and service. I must make special mention of Jean Carlos who went above and beyond to direct me around the hotel and the general location & educate on some Panamanian culture. Well done Jean and the Sortis team!! 5 stars in my book and I will forever recommend!!!

It has everything to be a 5-star review. Staff is nice and polite, rooms are big and comfy, the pool is amazing and the restaurants inside the property are good, even though the breakfast restaurant isn’t great. However, on January 1st many people got to day use, and they don’t seem to have any control or limit on how many people they accept. There were no chairs and towels for guests, but that wasn’t the real problem. One of the day use groups was playing their own music on a giant JBL speaker, clashing with the already loud music played at the bar. Those guys were staring and trying to intimidate all other attendants. We complained 3 times at the pool bar, then another 4 at the reception and a last one straight to the manager. They kept saying they would send someone to solve it, which they didn’t. Everyone sitting around this group left being really uncomfortable, but even being on the rules that loud music is not allowed, the hotel staff decided not to do anything. It was quite disappointing after such a great stay. It made me completely change the impression I had in the first days and I don’t think a hotel that allows guest being so annoyed could be considered a 5 star place.
