Ive spent the last 12 days in and out of another local hospital. When my sister experienced a trama to the foot. We sought to visit the alternative hospital for a change. The visit started off with an agressive admission clerk. We were then left in the hallway until a nurse took her temperature then placed us in a emergency room. After a couple of mintues we were seen by a knowledgable doctor. As soon as he was gone they moved us to a crammed with over sized furniture waitroom without any explanation. Im wondering if they are short on space at this point. But to sight there seems to be more than enough space. The wait room has a television set blasting commercials and the bathrooms do not have soap. Poor client communication and facilities but both doctors were great, quick and well prepared to respond.

The wort private hospital in panama - Horrible. Service. Got the with horrible headache, sweaty nose, wanted to vomit, shaky and así to have my living signal. The lady told wait wait wait to admissions. First . And asked check my blood pressure and she said wait. Wait 40 minutes for the paper work, then waited almost 2 hours to have doctor Bxxx seeing me. It was only one doctor ... to many back office personnel. They did not care . The doctor after almost 3 hours took care of me. Excelente doctor, left the urgent care 4 hours later and wait almost 40 minutes to pay. Even to pay you have to wait: it is like going to a pu bloc hospital. People walking with your papers ... no digital Informarion at al, no care , construction and noise everywhere . A nightmare !!

We wasted half of our day here for nothing. We went to the emergency room as all the rest is closed on weekends. The receptionist asked us for 500 $ deposit to be seen by a doctor. We called up the insurance company to send over the details and deposit. They said they had. We waited for about 2 hours while the receptionist was telling us he did not receive anything. He finally let us through to see the doctor anyway. We waited around another hour to be called in. My boyfriend had his ear blocked. He had been given ear drops before and needed a simple 10 minutes procedure to unblock his ear. The generalist made us wait another 20 mins to get his instruments, while in his office. He then went away again to ask his collegue who was a ear specialist for advice. Then he refused to do the procedure, prescribed antibiotics and asked us to come back 2 days later, just before flying out. What for, I have no idea. The antibiotics were not necessary and it is harmful to prescribe them when not needed. When we got back to our country, we solved everything in 20 minutes. As we suspected, there was no infection and the antibiotics were useless. After coming out of the doctor's office, we again went back to reception. Another guy luckily realized the mail had gone through the day before (when we first called the insurance company). They didn't say this to us but I can understand some Spanish. If that guy hadn't properly checked we would have had to continue waiting for God knows how long, or pay directly to them, for doing nothing.

Despite being advertised on several pages as being a good place for travellers and expats to get treated, our experience with the hospital was very disappointing. I called asking for an appointment, when I didn't fully understand the member of staff who spoke very rapidly and politely asked to repeat as my Spanish isn't great, they just hung up. Unacceptable!

I called them to get a quote for a doctor's visit. They only told me that I have to deposit $500 to cover the visit. As I kept asking how much an initial consultation would be, the guy hung up. How can they stay in business?

My wife fell and dislocated and fractured her shoulder at the Panama Canal. We were advised by ship medical staff that she needed to be seen by an orthopedic surgeon. We went by ambulance to Paitilla Hospital. The doctors were fantastic and the facility very modern and clean. Costs (with the exception of the ambulance) were extremely low compared to US. We are very happy with the care she received.

Possibly the worst private hospital in Panamá. Waiting times for urgent attention or a simple Covid Test are ridiculous. It's like no one has mapped how how to process an in or out patients. You are very likely to wait for several hours for your hospital bill and once you get it you have a 99% change that it has multiple errors in it, which will take weeks if not months to correct. Doctors and nurses are helpful and knowledgeable but the day to day processes are a total mess, your better of in San Fernando, Hospital Nacional or The Panama Clinic.

Worst experience. Spent 10 hours in the emergency room for nothing. Staff was inexperienced. I had to question them about the tests they were performing constantly as the doctors would tell me one thing and the nurses another. Complete waste of my time.

I went to the emergency of the hospital with an infected wound on my foot. I got treated perfectly from beginning to end! The people at the reception, the nurses, the doctor… Everybody was very friendly, willing to help,… I speak some Spanish, but the doctor spoke English and explained everything to me in English so I was sure I understood everything correctly. I can only recommend this place! I couldn’t use my insurance here so I had to give a deposit upfront, but some international insurances are accepted and than you’re insurance arranges everything with the hospital directly.

Very good service from start to finish. Our taxi driver Rojeilo took us to this first rate hospital on the second day of my wife's and my 2 week vacation in June 2022. She sprained her knee on the plane as we started our holiday. The receptionist was so very helpful as were everyone else that helped us. The hospital was extremely clean and bright. We were maybe there for a total of 3 1/2 hrs., and that included admissions, triage, doctor consult, an orthopaedic speciallist that came from his office across the street, receiving a knee brace, going to the pharmacy and paying our bill. Here in Canada we would have been lucky to get out in 7--8 hrs. Our taxi driver Rojeilo showed back up as we were paying the bill, without us calling him, to take us back to our hotel. Rojeilo and his wife, who spoke English, were so very helpful throughout our trip. Very, very impressed with everything "Panama". Would love to get back there in the near future.

We traveled to Panama from Ecuador in February 2023. I sustained an injury in the Galapagos that needed further evaluation. The hospital Paitilla was near our hotel and and had good reviews. We had an excellent experience there. All of the staff were attentive, helpful and efficient, identifying staff that could support our limited Spanish. The facilities were exceptional and they were able to evaluate my injuries and make the x-rays and other details available electronically for remote review. Dra. Vanessa Heilbron was the outstanding orthopedic specialist that evaluated and treated my injuries. She assessed my injuries without a scheduled appointment on a day that was a holiday in Panama. Truly excellent service. Prices were moderate and certainly far less than I would have encountered in the US. A credit card payment was required at the beginning of the process and adjusted to reflect final cost. If you are traveling and in need of unexpected care, this hospital is a recommended choice.
