👍👍 We took the Ocean to Ocean day tour that included Lake Gatun, Moneky Island, Agua Clara locks, and San Lorenzo fort. A lot packed in to a day. This tour was an absolute treasure to find. It leaves very early, and you MUST be on time, but it’s really worth it. We did the Ocean to Ocean tour that gave us a a first hand look at Monkey Island, Fort St. Lorenzo, and the Agua Clara locks, with the most informative guide. They even made us a lunch! It’s an amazing full day experience with great views and you’ll leave with a story to tell. Cannot miss!

If you are thinking of taking this tour, you found the right one. Let me begin with a Thank You! This was THE best tour ever - Sincerely, Truly! If I could give it more stars, I would. Make sure you ask to go with Jerrin and his mates, and you will have an amazing time. Jerrin has this really great, sense of humor and will keep you entertained the whole way. Not only was the tour excellent with lots of wildlife (Monkeys-a variety, Toucans, Alligators, Sloths, birds, miniature Frogs), we learned so much about the Canal, conservation efforts, Panamanian food and the culture. The cruise down the canal was just long enough to keep you entertained and give you a sense of what the canal is like. The breakfast was delicious with local Panamanian favorites and their excellent, fresh coffee. The hike was exhilarating and quiet, except for the birds. You really got to feel what it is like to be in the jungles of Panama. When you love what you do for a living, it is reflected in your work and these guys love what they do. Make sure you stop for the local, freshly squeezed juices. DEE-Lish. This tour was personally the best for me because they went above and beyond. I went on the day of my birthday and somewhere, if by magic - They produced THE BEST birthday party, complete with a cake with my name. What can I say, except WOW and Thank you. They made my birthday and my vacation. You found the best tour. Don't miss it. Book now!

Cynthia was informative and great to meet for the initial booking, and Jarin & John were funny and incredibly knowledgeable regarding this history of Panama, the canal, and the wildlife. This was our favorite excursion during our 8 day vacation.

Based off Tripadvisor reviews, I decided to book the Ocean to Ocean Tour with Panama Day Trips. This was one of the best tours that I have ever taken on vacation. Enrique, our tour guide, was fantastic. He was so knowledgeable and peppered the day with fun facts about Panama City. We learned so much! The tour was well run and we never felt rushed at all, as is sometimes the case with these types of group tours. The boat tour we took was really fun and we saw a lot of animals. Some monkeys even jumped onto the boat! I really appreciate that they never, ever feed the animals in order to entice them onto the boats for photo ops. This is the responsible thing to do! Our driver even spotted a sloth while driving through the National Park and we stopped to watch it climb through the trees. The decision to go to the Agua Clara Locks instead of the Miraflores one is great. The visitor center is new, very English-speaking tourist friendly and it was so cool to be able to see a ship go through the locks. I would not hesitate to take another tour with them if we're back in Panama City.

We did the 5 hour combo tour (monkey Island and rainforest walk) with the tour company's owner Jerin. We had a great time. Jerin was very knowledgeable and friendly. He knew his stuff. He was also giving suggestions on what else to do on panama city. The vegetarian breakfast was traditional Panamanian and delicious. End of the tour, we stopped at a juice and fruit place called Chinese Garden (very close to Miraflores locks) and the guava juice was divine! :) Highly recommend this tour company.

Simply amazing! We had a group of 11 and everyone in the group was very impressed. The tour guide John was incredible. Very fluent English and his knowledge of the history and local area was superb. The tour itself was well-planned and went even better than expected. I HIGHLY recommend using this tour provider if in Panama. Thanks again Panama Day Trips!

Had a great day out. Enriquez was a great guide. We saw a sloth, 3 varieties of monkeys, and several Ring Tail Wattis. Lunch was simple but delicious. A must for first time visitors to Panama!

Enrique was our guide for the Ocean to Ocean day trip - he was remarkable! His knowledge, enthusiasm and humor kept us engaged all day. As others have noted you need to be on time for your early morning pick up but the day is a wonderful combination of canal, ancient ruins, jungle and a delicious lunch including cervezas or other beverages.

I did the Ocean to Ocean Tour and I couldn’t be more satisfied. John was one of the best guides I ever had. He was explaining and giving information about the Panama Canal and the wildlife during the whole trip. Thanks to his funny way he kept it interesting and entertaining. He would constantly be aware and spot animals so he could show them to us. I fully recommend this tour! Worth every penny!

I did the Ocean to Ocean tour with John and it was fantastic. From the hotel pick up to the amazing sites and animals to the great information with pictures that John shared all day, I don’t think it could have been better. The staff at Panama Day Trips is so great about responding to you via WhatsApp right away with any questions. I was actually a solo traveler and they were able to accommodate me even though Viator required 2 people to book. Definitely remember to bring sunscreen and bug spray, although they’ll have umbrellas and spray ready for you! Even the lunch was delicious! Highly recommend

Fantastic tour and very knowledgeable guide, Paola. We did a 5-hour tour and enjoyed every minute of it. We managed to see various monkeys, birds, crocodiles, etc.

My family did the ocean to ocean tour with Enrique and he was fantastic! We have three young boys and they all did great on the tour. The boat ride was the highlight! Enrique was an expert at spotting all the animals! We saw sloths, monkeys, crocodile, coatis. Enrique was entertaining with interesting stories the entire day, you will learn so much about the history and current state of Panama! Picnic lunch was perfect! (We are vegetarian and it was no problem). Thanks, Enrique!

We did the Ocean to Ocean Canal tour and had a fantastic time! We learned so much about the history and culture of Panama. We took a boat ride through the rainforest and saw lots of animals, saw the canal, had a delicious lunch prepared by a small local restaurant, and toured Fort Lorenzo. It was the perfect intro to Panama! I highly recommend this tour.

Highly recommend ! We had a wonderful 5-hour morning tour. Paola was an amazing guide, speaks perfect English and has an immense knowledge of Panama and it’s wildlife. From the very first second it was a fantastic experience and we really enjoyed it. Everything was perfect and we would definitely do the tour again.

I can’t say enough good things. From the communication the night before the tour, on time hotel pickup, fluid activities throughout and the lunch was amazing… but without a doubt the reason it was such a success was because of our tour guide Paola Keene. My wife and I own a travel agency and have been on dozens and dozens of tours around the world, and Paola was arguably the best guide we have ever had. Her mixture of humor and love for history were great, but her energetic vigor helped to keep the group focused and engaged the whole day. 5 stars across the board, I highly recommend this tour!

If you're looking for authentic Panamanian Cooking experience, this class is a must! It's so much fun!!! The class takes place in the center of a restaurant ( el Nacional) filled with locals, so you know the food is amazing! Everyone, from the owner, Jerin and his mother-in-law, to the brilliant head chef and entire kitchen staff - was so friendly - it was like we were cooking in their home - we all had the best time!!! ProTip - dress light as there is no AC but they do have cold beer & they offer vegan and vegetarian dishes!

Our tour guide Paola was excellent. She was very informative and took the time to answer all the questions the group asked her. The sites and locations visited were great value for money. The driver even spotted a sloth for me as a special request for an animal I wanted to see. I highly recommend this tour.

We had a fantastic trip to the Agua Clara locks and visitor center on the Panama Canal! Also visited Fort San Lorenzo in Colon for a wonderful lunch and boat ride to Monkey Island on the Chagres River, nearer the Pacific side of canal. Enrique Ruiz is a fountain of wisdom, history and sandwich maker!

The ocean to ocean jungle cruise and canal tour was hands down the best excursion I’ve been on. Everything was very organizing and all guests were accommodated. Our guide Enrique was so knowledgeable and could answer any question we had. He also had a great sense of humour and kept us entertained the entire trip! We saw so many different sloths and monkeys, a monkey even ate a banana out of my hand. The tour and staff really exceeded my expectations!

Omg I had the greatest time on my tour, it was only 7/8 of us and the weather was perfect!! We had the lovely Paola and wow does she know her stuff! We were so impressed by her level of knowledge and how gentle she was with the monkeys. It was really sweet actually and I could tell she loves what she does which made our experience even better. The food was delicious and my food restrictions were honored which really soothed my anxiety about the breakfast aspect. The canal was cool and gave me a new appreciation for many material things I take for granted. All in all I had a ball and would definitely do it again next time I visit Panama.

Wonderful tour. Jerin owns and operates the tour company. He was extremely knowledgeable on all the subject matter, had an answer for every question and all around was a great dude to hangout with, very professional and kind. 10/10 would recommend to anyone that visits Panama. My girlfriend and I had a great time and signed up for a second tour the following day with his company.

This tour was the highlight of my trip to Panama. Our brunch overlooking the canal was awesome and the rainforest walk even better. Jerin was so personable, passionate and knowledgeable about everything Panama. Hands down, best tour I’ve ever been on!!

One of the best and most informative tours I’ve taken in a long time. Great communication and on time. John, our tour guide, was amazing. Him and the company care about the environment and don’t feed or use whistle to bother monkey’s. Very responsible and respectful with the environment. They gave us a local breakfast with a view of the canal. Great walking tour and finally our day ended with a surprised birthday celebration for one girl on the tour. They took the initiative to drive everyone to the Amador causeway and surprise her and everyone too with a birthday cake (flan Escondido) HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

We cannot express how much we enjoyed our tour. Cynthia was very quick to help answer and help with booking, even on Christmas day! She communicated all the information very well. The day of the tour, the bus arrived on time. The tour starts very early but it is worth it! John was our guide and we could not ask for a better guide. He was very knowledgeable, kept everyone engaged, and constantly made sure each individual was having a good tour. This tour covers Panama from one coast to the other. You will be on the road driving quite a bit and anyone who grumbles about all the driving needs to look at a map of Panama and realize how much area this tour covers. The bus was a nice ride and air conditioned. Each stop was great, and we had plenty of time to enjoy the visit. John never rushed our visit. We enjoyed each meal provided. Genesis helped prepare food for the meals and was great at her job. The monkeys were awesome and it was enjoyable having them jump on the boat and take grapes from our hands. The trip through the park and to the fort is beautiful. We enjoyed the fort, the history, and the views. The final stop was at the canal locks. Here we had great unrushed visit and watched as a ship went through the locks going towards the Atlantic. We would recommend this tour to anyone who is visiting Panama. When we are back in Panama, we will see if Cynthia will coordinate other tours with John for us.

We booked this tour based on TripAdvisor reviews and were not disappointed! Proprietor/guide Jerin Tate was interesting, organized, and fun. Possessing a wealth of knowledge about Panama and nature, Jerin kept up a steady narrative as we cruised Lake Gatun, watched a tanker transit the new Agua Clara Locks, and stepped back in time at Fort San Lorenzo. He supplied coffee, snacks, and delicious--and very welcome--sandwiches. Highly recommended.

  • 5/5 Karen S. 4 years ago on Google
Jaren Tate our guide was very friendly, knowledgeable and hospitable. He provided a fantastic experience and went out of his way to make sure we saw as much as possible. We loved the touch with the breakfast at the end and watching for ships down the canal. He even provided extra touch of giving his card and telling us to get in touch with him if we experienced any emergency during our stay in Panama!
