I
recently
stayed
at
the
Villa
Palma
which
is
marketed
as
a
boutique,
upscale,
5
star
hotel,
only
to
discover
that
the
sophistication
ended
at
the
surface.
The
so-called
"onsite
restaurant"
was
nothing
more
than
tables
shoved
in
the
lobby,
and
the
front
desk
resembled
a
makeshift
table
rather
than
a
professional
reception
area.
To
add
insult
to
injury,
one
of
our
rooms
experienced
water
leakage
issues,
while
the
other
was
plagued
by
mold
in
the
bathroom.
We
traveled
in
from
further
into
the
country
overnight
due
to
the
protests
and
road
closures.
When
we
arrived
the
hotel
was
able
to
accommodate
an
early
check
in
but
at
the
cost
of
$55,
despite
the
rooms
being
vacant
and
ready
anyway.
And
to
make
matters
even
worse,
this
hotel
blatantly
leaves
sensitive
guest
information
to
include
copies
of
passports,
unsecured
and
unattended
at
the
so
called
front
desk.
The
lack
of
genuine
luxury,
combined
with
hidden
issues,
an
opportunistic
approach
to
charge
us
more,
and
a
blatant
disregard
for
my
personal
information,
left
me
thoroughly
disappointed
with
what
is
marketed
as
a
premium
experience.
