I
love
the
Golden
Frog
but
whether
or
not
you
will
depends
on
what
you’re
looking
for.
The
main
building
has
reception,
the
restaurant
and
a
small
but
nice
pool.
Smaller
buildings
are
scattered
throughout
a
lush
landscape
with
stone
walks
and
steps.
Some
are
multi-floored
and
some
are
more
like
duplexes
with
large
front
porches.
If
you’re
older
or
have
trouble
with
distances
or
stairs,
tell
them
that
when
you
make
your
reservation.
I
was
able
to
park
next
to
my
room
and
had
very
few
stairs
to
negotiate.
I’m
not
certain
I
could
have
handled
getting
to
or
up
one
of
the
multi-story
buildings.
My
room
had
beautiful
furniture
and
tile.
It
was
obviously
old,
though,
with
cracks
and
dents.
The
small
kitchen
and
bath
had
very
old
appliances
but
everything
was
clean
and
serviceable.
There
is
no
air
conditioning
…
the
rationale
being
that
the
constant
breezes
keep
everything
cool.
That
was
true
on
days
1-3,
and
the
ceiling
fan
(and
1
floor
fan
in
the
hot
part
of
the
afternoon)
was
more
than
sufficient.
On
days
4-5
the
breezes
apparently
shifted
direction
and,
even
with
large
open
windows
on
3
sides,
the
room
was
terribly
hot.
I’d
have
slept
on
the
porch
if
possible.
That
second
day,
the
electricity
went
out
for
a
few
hours
(which
tends
to
happen
frequently
in
Latin
American
countries)
and
the
loss
of
the
fans
made
things
more
unbearable.
I
went
to
the
market.
Cons
(which
don’t
really
bother
me):
The
electricity
(not
including
the
outage)
is
weak.
If
you
need
to
charge
anything,
you’ll
have
trouble
with
that.
The
WiFi
can
be
a
little
weak
occasionally,
as
well.
The
location
can
be
difficult
to
find.
I
suggest
you
use
Google
maps
in
advance
(while
you
have
WiFi)
and
watch
for
the
small
signs.
The
last
“street”
is
only
wide
enough
for
1
car
so
you
may
have
to
back
up
at
times
to
let
other
cars
through.
Despite
the
breezes,
my
room
got
hot
at
times
without
air
conditioning.
The
front
porch
was
always
cool,
though,
and
other
rooms
might
be
better
situated.
Pros:
The
views
are
marvelous
and
the
setting
is
very
quiet
and
peaceful.
The
staff
are
the
sweetest
and
friendliest
I’ve
seen
in
Panama,
and
many
speak
enough
English
for
you
to
get
by
if
you
don’t
speak
Spanish.
The
food
is
limited
but
very
good.
(Try
the
homemade
ice
cream.)
I
thought
the
food
was
a
little
pricey
for
this
area
but
that
doesn’t
mean
it’s
expensive.
The
breakfast
(which
came
with
the
room
rate)
was
excellent
and
they
brought
it
to
my
room
every
morning
so
I
could
eat
on
my
front
porch.
(If
you
have
WhatsApp,
you
can
text
them
every
evening
and
tell
them
what
you
want
for
breakfast
and
when.)
The
bed
was
comfortable
with
plenty
of
pillows
and
the
linens
and
towels
were
spotless.
The
front
porch
was
a
great
place
to
eat,
read,
doze,
etc.
The
location
is
about
10
minutes
from
“downtown”
so
it’s
easy
to
get
to
the
store,
Sunday
market,
restaurants,
etc.
There’s
plenty
of
hot
water
if
you
follow
the
directions
in
the
bathroom.
The
pool
is
convenient,
clean
and
never
crowded.
Even
with
air
conditioning,
I
love
the
Golden
Frog.
