Lovely food and restaurant, we were fed up with the hotel food/buffet so asked the hotel reception staff to recommend somewhere that was not geared up for tourist and more locals, they recommended this place. Food is good, service is good and the restaurant (see photos) is lovely. They also have Brewdog on the drinks menu, a bit expensive but after drinking nothing but Keo and Leon for 2 weeks I would have paid double just to have an IPA. One thing to note is if sitting outside you are pretty close to the road and they do tend to speed up and down the road so just be mind full if you have kids. They will want to walk over to the water feature which is pretty close to the entrance. This staff did warn us about this which is good. It can get a bit warm so make sure you get a table under a fan and ask the staff to turn the fan speed up. I would also recommend ordering a cab to pick you up rather than walking along the front to the taxi rank. You can walk it and the view is nice but just be prepared to have a load of bar staff walking up to you saying things like "You coming in tonight mate, free shots" etc etc. Highly recommend this place.

Totally love this tavern! From the great welcome to the terrific food, the best of the 3 that we tried this holiday. Especially impressed with the giant pork chop.. How do they do it? On anther night I had the stifado...beef dissolved in my mouth. Thanks everyone involved!

We have visited the restaurant as it was opposite our hotel but also for the menu which appealed to us as it was based on traditional Cypriot cusine. We had opted for kleftiko with roast potatoes and salad which it was cooked to perfection with the meat falling off the bone. The roast potatoes were crispy on the outside and soft inside. The individual moussaka it was another tasty dish with plenty of mince n the centre and a bechamel sauce to die for. The food was well cooked and delicious with a great detail and presentation. The service was excellent and we finish our meal with a nice Cypriot coffee. I would definitely return and I would recommend this place.

Family owned business which had really authentic meat meze for only €20 per person! We were so full and had a good range of meats and salads. Highly recommend coming here - the staff were attentive and really nice.

I've been in Paphos for a week and every night I was going to eat to the same restaurant: Mandra Tavern. Why? Amazing atmosphere, polite and funny waiters and especially very good food, traditional cypriotic plates with very good prices! The other restaurants seem to be touristy and I was looking for something more traditional and local. The reason that cypriotic families are going to eat there too confirm this review. This place was ok, nothing special. Veggie balls was kinda tasteless and dry, I felt like I was having KFC fries, very stale. Salad and dips was okay nothing else to comment. The waiter was extremely slow and inattentive even tho they weren’t busy, inattentive. One of the staff sometime made jokes that made us uncomfortable or maybe it’s their humour I don’t know?…. Overall, it was overpriced for the quality of the food.

We had an amazing meal , the staff were great and happy to help . The food was divine , we felt that the price reflected the quality of food. The portion size was really good , we are definitely going back whilst we are here . This restaurant was great and we had a really enjoyable relaxed , no rush to get you out meal . Well worth a visit . Thank you

We had such a lovely evening here. A cold platter for me and the no meat moussaka. Then the baklava for dessert. Service was fab.

First the food was amazing clearly stated vegan items on the menu which really helps I had the meatless meatball pitta and my partner had the vegan moussaka Both where amazing The servers where friendly and helpful even providing us with free pitta to start and didn't give us butter they gave use olive oil as they understood from order we where vegan.. 100% advice going if you are vegan or non vegan

We ate our first dinner in Paphos here. The service was incredibly good and kind. The food was very good but the desert (brandy pudding) was absolutely incredible. I highly recommend it!

Good food, was really looking forward to the meal. 3 starts as jokes from the waiter were quite on the line and the last time he came over he looked at us and did 'huh' and walked away - jokingly I hope, but that was us already finished with the meal and waiting for someone to come over to ask for the bill. My husband asked another waiter for the bill which happily helped us and also cleaned up the plates. We had a feeling that somehow we were unwelcomed from the start with the first waiter even tho we booked a table and never did or said anything wrong. I understand that may be his way of serving in an arrogant joking way and maybe some people get it but there were few other tables with the same faces of confusion as we did. Overall, compliments to the chefs as food was delicious!

We had the meat feast, consisting of five courses of local meat dishes. All for €24 each. Friendly staff and nice Greek music. Not suitable for vegetarians !

Best meal I've had in a while. Went for the meat mezze (4 courses) with a local red wine. So so good!

We wanted something light so we ordered just salad meze. The waiter did not like it/us ... and we did not like the food/... so we are even ... Do not get inside if you dislike cats between the legs.

I couldn't get a dessert at a previous restaurant, so I went here. Paid €6.50 for two separate desserts, and ordered drinks as well. The baklava was dry, but worse still, I noticed around 5 ants on the side of the plate after I tucked in. I wasn't seated outside and I was as close to the counter as possible. Drink prices are also above average compared to other places around and the service is mediocre at best.

That was a great place. The prices seem a bit steep, but what you get for those money is definitely worth it. And when the menu says "huge", believe it 😁

After booking a table for 2 the day before we were surprised to be shown to a table next to the bins. We asked to be moved and they did but they didn't like it We were then looked after by a very nice waitress who remembered us booking and my name. The waiter who came to take our order was very abrupt and lacked any customer skills as did the other waiter/owner. The food was average. We had Kleftico and stifado and it was served in a very strange way on a hot plate. Everywhere in paphos the service has been excellent Won't be going back

Really nice place, especially if you are here to taste local food. The service is best of the best, warm and cozy. To talk about food, we had meze for two people and moussaka and it was a lot for us (4 adults+ toddler). To talk about taste is very hard as it was too much meat and some was not our type of food but it is just our taste preferences and it was our intention - try new local foods. All in all, it was a nice experience.

We had a lovely family meal here including the meat mezes, pork chop and kids meals. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the food was delicious. Highly recommended 😊

Had a Meze for the very first time and OMG my son cannot stop talking about how good it was. It was our favourite food of the holiday. The waiter with English accent is great and really looked after us. Portions huge so make sure you are really hungry variety great and tastes so good. Dips and meat all amazing. Definitely go back here again.

A totally awesome food, some of the best Greek food I've ever had. Amazing souvlaki and salad. My wife and I have eaten here on numerous occasions when visiting Paphos and we are never disappointed by the Mandra Tavern! The waiter "Antonis" has a great sense of humour and is extremely attentive...Thanks again! See you soon hopefully.😄

Lovely restaurant with delicious food. We took the meat meze and I can recommend it to everyone! The waiters are very friendly and in for a joke. The place feels really authentic and we felt really at ease. 5/5

We went for the meze, as then you don't have to make any decisions and get to sample dishes from across the menu. Everything was freshly cooked and was very nice, and the staff were really friendly and attentive. And all very reasonably priced. Top tip: don't go earlier than 8pm.
