I wanted to take my partner to a lovely place for date night and read the reviews. We instantly felt welcome by the owner, who us sat us by the romantic fireplace. During the night, he delighted us with tales of the buildings and his life's history. His wife has a lifelong experience in cooking homely cuisine, including their famous moussaka. We enjoyed Argo that much, we came back a second time to have the lamb special. It goes without saying, we highly recommend Argo.

My wife said I had to write this review as I wrote a bad one for another restaurant in Paphos, so here goes. This restaurant is just off the main strip area of Paphos but a real gem of a place. The owner is attentive and pleasant and the staff are really helpful. The restaurant is busy every night and worth booking as you may not get a table. The atmosphere is really good. Starters we ordered Hummus, garlic mushrooms and dolmades. All really tasty and plenty of it. Mains: They have good vegan options and my wife had the aubergine. I had the stifado which was absolutely fantastic and restored my faith in this dish (see my other review). Good portion sizes and very tasty food. We had carafe and half of red and was given free brandy at the end. Highly recommended restaurant.

very good restaurant near Paphos Harbor! they have a great deal with a 3 course meal for 20€ it was very big so we were all full! we had the mushrooms for starters, the meat and vegan moussaka as the main and ice cream with strawberries for dessert

I was over the moon when I found this place. They had a very good variety of dishes on offer, including a dedicated vegan section, of which I ordered from. The vegan moussaka was divine, and completely worth the price offered. The customer service was exemplary, I felt very comfortable throughout the whole night, and they even offered a drink on the house! I would highly recommend this place, especially for vegans. I hope to see this business continue to thrive.

We were here a few days ago after reading good reviews on google maps and on lonely planet. And need to say we’re totaly disappointed. Instead of warm pitta bread we’ve got few slices of simple white bread. Sea food cocktail consisted only of small prawns in some sauce,in fact quite good , but not as we expected. And the main dish-lamb chops was overcooked or maybe warmed-up. Chops were dry and hardly to chew up. Only Keo was OK,but maybe because it was only bottled.

Great food, very nice full bodied red wine recommended by the owner himself. The stifado and fillet steaks were cooked to perfection. If you're looking for traditional Cypriot food along with friendly welcoming service then you must visit here.

Very friendly staff, owned by a lovely family. The food was great, the atmosphere was very calm and private. The food was also presented very nicely and the prices were very reasonable. The owner was the loveliest we ever met at our stay in cyprus. Compared to all the restaurants at the harbour it was authentic and delicious!

There's many restaurants in Kato Paphos but very few with an authentic touch and a homely feeling. Argo has both. The owner welcomed us very nicely, made fire in the chimney because it was chilly and took time to chat with us. I had good moussaka in my life but that moussaka, put them all to shame. The lady in the kitchen has been making that same moussaka for 30 years and she knows her stuff! Enough said that we highly recommend! You won't be disappointed if you are looking for good food and great service.

Dear reader, I suggest this wonderful place. We ordered 2 mixed grill with extra tzatziki, it was a very good chose. The plates have been extremely delicious, the meat was perfect! It might take a while to receive the order, but all the good things need time to be prepared, in order to be perfect!

Best food in Cyprus! We have been to many restaurants in Cyprus over the years and this is by far the best. The food is very delicious, nice and relaxed atmosphere, staff very friendly and polite but not intrusive. Huge portions and will not leave you wanting more! Highly recommended!

A fantastic venue with great staff. Super friendly and accommodating. The food is simply amazing, and the 3 course menu at a set price is an absolute bargain. It's hard to beat and I will be back when I'm next in Cyprus!

It was so good on the first night, we went back the very next night. First night we had grilled calamari and stuffed eggplant. With ouzo and beer. Yum! The owner offered us a brandy (on the house) and suggested we come back for the lamb. Which we did and we’re very glad he suggested it! The lamb here MELTS in your mouth. And is a traditional slow cooked dish. I liked my meat well done. And it was so succulent and the mint sauce amazing. We had a litre of the house red, which paired perfectly. I didn’t think I could eat it all but it was just so amazing. DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR!! We’d happily recommend and would go back when in Pafos.

Great service and really authentic Greek food. You will need to book to go on Tuesdays or Saturdays when they have the Kleftico special on. The set menu is definitely recommended.

Hearty, affordable and delicious food mixed with a lovely seating terrace outside and the very attentive and warm staff makes this a great option for the area. It is a few footsteps away from the tourist masses so you can enjoy a quite dinner. Wirth every detour. Try the Moussaka and thank me later!

Had such a lovely evening at Argo, the staff were SO lovely and beyond helpful! The food was so delicious and the best food we've had here in Pafos so far! Would absolutely recommend to anyone who loves good food and a friendly atmosphere! I had the beef stroganoff and My husband had the T Bone Steak, just flawless! Thank you!

Such a lovely place!!! Incredible food, such a great variety! It was very delicious, massive portions, couldn't beat them. Will be going back again, as it was so so good. The service was very attentive and more than worth the money. The house wine was very nice too.

One of the worst restaurants I've ever eaten at. Definitely the worst I've eaten at in the last few years. When I saw a 3 course meal for €17.95, I thought "this must be too good to be true". Eating here was a powerful reminder to me that if it looks too good to be true, it usually is. After ordering, we had to wait 30 minutes for the starter. Prior to the starter arriving, the waiter gave us a basket of dry, unappealing bread that looked like it could've been plucked from any supermarket shelf. When my starter did arrive, it was covered in mayonnaise, it looked like the kind of meal a 15 year old would buy from any old cheap food shop after school. Visibly dissatisfied, I was then offered an alternative, to which I said yes, I applaud the staff for their service here. However, it was basically just some oily, overly salty mushrooms on a square plate. Simply pitiful. After finishing our starters, we then had to wait 25 minutes for our mains. Other customers were also suffering the same plight. When my main arrive, it had school canteen level presentation, complemented by prison level taste (never been to prison but I imagine this is how bad the food would taste there). My main was a sirloin steak and chips. The dessert arrived in much better time, it was simple, a pancake with some sugar. Nothing special. Avoid this restaurant at all costs! I wasted money here. Worst thing of all was that the lead waiter sweated so profusely that the sweat was dripping off his head! Absolutely disgusting! I prayed that he wouldn't serve our food, unfortunately he served 2 courses.

Went in here early evening on the promise of moussaka (my wife was craving it before we went home). It was everything she wished for. The set price three course meal was excellent & very good value.

One of our favorites since many years. Lovely setting a bit away from the hustle and bustle and delicious food. Try the moussaka or the kleftiko (Tue and Sat). The big boss being away for a few days, the girls were definitely up to the task

Overcooked, burned lamb chops. Angry & frantic owner serving tables, not a good place to relax and enjoy meal.

😐 We ate here after all of the 5 star reviews, but left disappointed. The calamari was delicious, but the chicken was a little dry (with no sauce), as was the lamb. The moussaka was 75% aubergine, so could have done with a little more meat in my opinion. The drinks weren't the cheapest either, espec...
