Best enjoyed from the outside. There's a decent view from the top, but it wasn't worth the 2.50 entry fee. Inside the 'castle' is a small art exhibition and stairs to the rooftop, but there's not a great deal of interest. Fror the same price, you can visit The Tombs of the Kings, which is stunning in comparison.

Nice view from the outside. Entey price for the top view is... decent but you get similar view fro the outside, at free. I would say is not worth it.

Entry is €2.50 per person, and it’s worth it for the views, and to look inside the castle. There’s a display on marine litter once you’re inside, and some information on the conservation of wildlife and the environment of Cyprus. Sadly there is nothing to tell you any history of the castle or the area, and you can’t access most of the interesting areas, cells, or the absolute top of the castle. For the fee it’s worth visiting.

Thoroughly interesting an enjoyable visit. Rich in history and beautiful views once you're a top of the castle. If you have no interest in the history that surrounds these buildings, then I wouldn't bother personally, as you'll possibly find it boring. But I personally thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated the time and effort it takes to maintain and preserve this building. €2.50 entry fee.

Very cute little castle at Paphos Harbour. It is €2.50 entry to look around which is located inside. They offer cash or card payments. There are information board inside explaing the building and how it was used. Views upstairs are beautiful across the bay and harbour.

I had expected something more from this. If you want to see a castle with a capital C, come to Slovakia. This is something that was left from a castle and functions as a tiny little gallery which offers a nice view of the surrounding area from the top of the building. The ticket cost was 2,5€. I really feel like they shouldn't ask you for any money to enter this place.

Beautiful castle to see, definitely worth going to! The castle has been renovated and protected beautifully, with lighting making the features stand out. The upper level is lovely to have a higher view of Pathos from. Would recommend to all!

If your in the Kato Paphos harbour area you must visit the Castle. If you like your history, ocean conservation and stunning views it’s definitely worth a visit. Only a couple of euros to climb the steps got the top but once you are there you with be blown away with views of the harbour and the crystal clear Mediterranean Sea

Not so much a castle, more like a guard tower with a sea view. There is an interactive screen available and some boards explaining the history of the castle. It has good views of the sea and Paphos Harbour but I don't think it's worth the €2.50 I paid.

Small but perfectly formed. Contained an art display connected to the environment which was interesting. Not too much else to see inside and not much information about the castle and its history. Entrance fee was cheap though so well worth a visit. No gift shop, loos or cafe.

This spot is in the center of Paphos. There are too many people, it is hard to walk. There are many restaurants. The castle is small and nice. There are some yachts. You can’t really go anywhere. The place is quite small. There are no signage’s which would explain what this castle is about. The parking nearby is small and there are too many cars. We spent a lot of time trying to find a parking spot.

An interesting experience. Not much to see, but you get to experience the place. However, I loved it and it was worth the €2.50 I had to pay. Perfect for a quick visit

An interesting place to visit right on the harbour. Its worth a visit but not much interpretation. Good views from the parapets and a bit of insite from a panel just inside. It's only 2.50 Euros so well worth a look around. The concert area outside looked really interesting and if there had been something on when we were there it would have made a lovely venue.

Gorgeous building in the day or night. However, at night time, it lights up which adds another aura to it. There is a very nice bronze sculpture of a woman on the rocks which makes for nice photos. The sunset is also very nice at this point, with the skies giving beautiful colors.

The Paphos Castle is an Ottoman rebuilding of a previous Frankish-Venetian fort. It is well worth a visit especially for the great views it affords from the upper floor-terrace. The main gate is reached via a bridge over a moat. Above the gate, there is a white marble plaque in old Ottoman script commemorating the finalization of the works on the fort in 1592 AD. The small rooms on the ground floor were used as prison cells, whereas those on the upper floor were used to house the small Turkish garrison. A tip: when the seas are rough, the upper floor is the best place to be to admire and photograph the fury of the foaming waves.

Small castle on the coastline with very rich history. Nice exhibition inside but most importantly amazing views from the top of the building. Worth visiting while coming around Pafos harbour!

Worth a visit, not actually too much inside but the architecture is beautiful and there is a nice view from the roof plus some decent explanations of the history

Went there before Covid. Nice little castle but would have liked more history about it.

  • 4/5 Ruth H. 1 year ago on Google
The castle is only 2.5 euros to visit and currently contains an exhibition of art made from refuse. It also has a selection of information boards about the flora and fauna of the region. From the top of the castle there is a lovely view of Paphos harbour. No toliets, cafe or gift shop. Only 2 mins walk from Neo Paphos Archeological site.

Small castle located in the Paphos harbour. The entry costs €2.50 and you can buy the tickets at the door. It's quite a small attraction so you can cover the entire place in 5-10 mins. If you're not afraid of heights, then you can visit the rooftop and experience the wonderful views. But you have to be careful on windy days like today when the wind can easily push you over the barriers as it's very intense up there.

Little historic fort in a lovely location with some limited exhibition inside.

Free to walk around it. A small castle but it's on the sea which makes for a fun walk. Also, please please walk to the surrounding promenade and watch the sun set behind the castle. Totally worth it!

Great place to visit if you are in Paphos, located a bit further up from the marina, very interesting castle, which has cells to hold the prisoners and invaders over the years ! Also stunning views from the top of the castle of the marina and bay. There is an admission fee of €2.50 to look around the castle, but would highly recommend you see for yourself !

Entry fee 2.5€ Paphos Castle, erected in the 13th century by the Lusignans, fortified Cyprus against invasions. Originally a Byzantine fort, it passed through various rulers—Frankish, Venetian, Ottoman—enduring sieges and repurposes. Devastated by earthquakes, it was rebuilt under Ottoman rule in the 16th century. Acting as a fortress, prison, and now a cultural landmark, it witnessed transformations and served as protection for Paphos harbor. Over time, it evolved from a defensive stronghold to a testament of resilience, showcasing medieval architecture and standing sentinel against the mesmerizing backdrop of the Mediterranean, drawing countless visitors to delve into its rich and storied history.

Worth the time and the 2.5€ entrance fees. Best thing is the view of the shore from the roof. At night it becomes all purples by the lights and is beautiful from the distance.

More of a fortress than a castle, but it's position jutting out into the sea in Paphos's harbour is incredibly atmospheric. It's also an interesting historical building in itself which can be visited.

Paphos is a great place to visit, we went for a the day, walked from the old town down to the beach, you can get a bus and I would suggest this if you have problems with walking due to some steep areas. Visited the market, old town and seafront and really enjoyed it. Free car park near Old Town which we managed to get into.

Medieval forth, fortress, castle and later warehouse built by the Byzantines, took over by Francs and Venetians, rebuilt by Lusignans and Ottomans. Pure history in every bit. Nice view from the walls up the stairs. Entry fee is €2.5. It has seasonal exhibition current theme is global ocean cleanliness issues.
