Really recommended to visit this place. Ticket is 4.5 € and the site is very big, to finish it might takes you 1-2 hrs. A little bit hot but there’s vending machine in the middle of the site. This place bring you back to the history of Cyprus. It’s also a nice place for photos. We took some for the bags which look super nice. Love it.

Stunning historical site, could use a tour guide, or, just make your own tour up and take in the wonders of ancient Greek / Cypriot history. Very very hot and exposed, so take plenty of water, especially think of your ginger ones in your party and get them sun hats, sun cream them up and stop under trees to stop them turning pink!! You will walk A LOT, my step count on this alone was 13,000+ steps, so great if like me you're a bit chubby, to be able to sweat out a few lbs...so you can enjoy a kebab on the Harbour later, without crying into your pitta bread in shame 😂😂

This Archaeological site has a lot of the whole history of the island and country. Entrance fee is 4,50€. You can easily spent 2-3 hours walking across all of the historical places. From old houses, lighthouse, mosaics, a castle and view places. All the places/monuments have signs which explain the history of each location. You can see a lot of interesting architecture and mosaics. Dress according to the weather as there is no shadow place in the site. I recommend carrying some snacks and water.

Well worth a visit if you are interested in the period of history from the Hellenic to the Byzantine. The mosaics are amazing. 4.5 euros for a ticket. Toilets and machines vending drinks are available around the site. There is a limited gift shop. Free WiFi at the entrance building. Not all paths wheelchair accessible.

Spent there 3 hours and it wasn’t enough. Huge and amazing archaeological site. I liked beautiful mosaics left, remaining of buildings and lighthouse there. At some places you can go in and explore more, so it was an interesting experience. The map wasn’t good to understand where you and where to go to see what you want to.

I highly recommend going to this site. The mosaics are breathtaking. It’s hard to imagine how beautiful the area was thousands of years ago. It takes about an hour to walk through the highlights. The mosaics are well preserved and the area is well maintained. It is necessary to walk and some of the paths are a bit unstable. Be careful. There is a small fee to enter. I’m glad we went.

Spent a good few hours in October rambling around, interesting places to see and fairly well preserved. I think improvement could be made to inspire people somewhat. The mosaics are very interesting. 5 euros entry was reasonable. One entrance and exit, the only toilets and vending machines are at the entrance.

Nice location to learn a lot of the whole history of the island and country. Several places covered by one entrance fee(4,50€). You can easily spent 2-3 hours walking across all of the historical places. From old houses, lighthouse, mosaics, a castle and view places. They got some facilities at the entrance and the walkways are good if you got disabilities. Al lot signs which explains the history of each location supports the visit. Some mosaics are covered to prevent damages by the environment when I visited the location on November 2021. But you can still see a lot of interesting architecture and mosaics

Euro 4.50 to enter, would give 5 stars if they had a few diagrams showing reconstructions of the ruins as they are mostly just foundations and mosaic floors so difficult to imagine what they looked like. Recommend to download the excellent app provided by QR code at the entrance which has a map and suggested route with audio on the main things to see. Allow 2 hours to view.

Amazing ancient archeological site. The mosaics were stunning. Hard to believe they are 2,000 years old. Definitely worth a visit. Take plenty of water though, it can be very hot and not a lot of shade when walking around. Only €4.50 entrance fee

Needs a good few hours to see everything. Incredible mosaics in the Roman villas. Well worth the €4.50 entrance fee. Over 65s get free entrance. Make sure you have plenty of suncream and hats if visiting in summer as site is exposed with little shade

Very interesting site with plenty of interesting facts to be found, which I enjoyed immensely. It would be advisable to visit early in the morning if you intend to make a thorough investigation though, as the heat can be very strong and most of the area is open. Bring water, protect yourself with a good SPF and bring a sun hat. And take it at a pace that is comfortable for you.

Fantastic area if you like archeology sites. Loads to see with great information boards. The majority is open and can get very hot in the middle of the day, so take plenty of water. It takes a couple of hours to get around the whole site but well worth the visit. The price is very reasonable and paths well defined.

We made the mistake to go here in August with a whooping 35°C. There is a lot to see, some ruins, some mosaic floors and more. You can walk around freely, I also saw a guided group come by, and you can get a map at the gate. For only €4.50 this is a better option to spend your time then the disappointment they call a fort just 400m north of here. Bring some water, you will need it.

Great place to visit if this kind of thing is up your street. There is such a collection of eras, history, and more in a relatively small space but which is still expanding as a site. There is a fair amount of walking but absolutely worthwhile to see what has been preserved and what is on offer. The mosaics especially stuck out in my mind as being extra special. An audio tour would complete the experience - as would some advance warning of what exhibits have been given extra protection from the environment.

Set up as a walkable park most of the ruins are from around Greco Roman times, 500 AD. Kids can explore some of them while parents soak up the history. As an ancient history buff, I thoroughly enjoyed my time here. With only a €4.50 entrance fee (kids free), I'd be here all the time in off season, just to sit and relax with a light picnic basket.

A wonderful place. It's a pity tho that even though the place is an UNESCO heritage and they can't modify anything, they did not try to make the experience for tourists more attractive. Also some bins around the place would be good.

If you are staying in or near Paphos, this is a great way to spend a morning. While the site is not amazing if you compare it with ones in say Egypt or Rome, its still pretty impressive. I would recommend going early as it get hot in the afternoon and you are exposed. It takes a while to walk around the whole site and things like the mosaics are really impressive. Certainly worth a visit.

4.50 Euros for entry. The biggest site for ancient ruins in Cyprus so definitely worth admission. You can easily spend 90 minutes to 2 hours here too. You'll definitely get lost in here. Being a map so you can see everything!

Free parking right nearby. €4.50 entrance fee. Well worth a visit, very impressive and the most famous site in Paphos if not the whole of Cyprus. You need around 1 hour for the primary bit, and perhaps 3 hours for the whole trip. It's peaceful, open and a great walk which is mostly outside. The mosaics and still in amazing condition, and just utterly impressive.

Amazing place - don’t miss an opportunity to see the amazing murals. Most dating back to Roman times 2-500 AD but some back the Ancient Greece 300 BC. This is still a live dig site which makes it even more fascinating. Such detail and a real glimpse into decoration and history that was told in pictures. A must visit if you like history and visit Paphos.

The entrance is close to the marina in Pafos. Huge area to walk around. To walk all that distance with only one water station on the way was a bit of a challenge in the piping hot weather. No vending machines for water either. Otherwise cool area to walk around in even if you are not into old roman mosaics and remains. Not too many descriptions of the remains. The entrance fee was 4,5 € per person without a guide. Recommend it if you are in the area and want to have a relaxing walk in a big park.

Mosaics are not only fabulous but fun! They bring Greek Myth to life and they are so very realistic. The mastery of this craft....of placing individual tiny tiles so that they make such coherent and beautiful images can only marvelled at.

A great spot for birdwatching. Try to get there as early as possible. Lovely to walk around the site. The ruins and lighthouse are interesting too. Worth spending a couple of hours here.

The mosaics are very beautiful! Sadly a sharp contrast with what modern man can accomplish. The pathways lack signs. You have no clue where you are or in which direction you should walk to see the other buildings or displays. Combine this with the intense heat and you have a recipe for family disaster. Some of the “buildings” on the map lie outside of the archeological site! Overall it was a very strange experience. But the mosaics were very beautiful!

Nice to visit archaeological site, but don't expect too much. It is a quite large site to walk through, so don't do it during high heat, because there are almost no shades to hide from the sun. You will love the mosaics and the sea view, but other than that, there are mostly ruins and stones. I didn't see any toilet facilities on the site, this could be improved. If you get thirsty, there is a small place with vendor machines for drinks near the Dionysos house. The entrance fee is very affordable (4,5€).

Great site! But it's big so be prepared to spend some time here. Make full use of the interactive portal on the www to guide you round. It could do with a little bit more interpretation and signage in certain areas but for £4 it's a very worthwhile trip The mosaics are astonishingly beautiful and you will walk through over two thousand years of history The site is also a nature reserve in parts. You might want to take binos if you have them as you get quite a few bird spotters down there. Parking is free, plentiful, and right next to the entrance. You can also easily get to the quayside bars and eateries after your exploration of the site, and enjoy a lovely view across the bay.

Amazing mosaics and it’s a live dig site too. It’s very open but there are some seating areas and toilets too. Make sure you bring a drink or buy one from the vending machine as you will need it! It’s a massive site and some great things to see but make sure you wear comfy footwear as it’s a long walk around. It’s only €4.50 each to enter which is really good too and there’s a free car park nearby along with bus routes.

Outstanding place where you can see the mosaic tiles in lots of rooms from old Greeks archaeological history. It's a UNESCO heritage very recommended to visit

I almost never give 5* but this place really deserves it. What an amazing way to spend a day. The audio tour was fantastic. The ruins intriguing and well played out and signposted. The scenery is amazing. All in all this was one of the best days I spent in Paphos - incredible.

  • 5/5 Dave W. 1 year ago on Google
This was the first archaeological site we visited. The history behind the whole site is so interesting and you will spend a goo few hours here at least. From the mosaics to the architecture it is a fantastic place for the whole family to visit. The €4.50 per person is well worth it and there are toilets and vending machines to get a cool drink and shade points out in the open parts.

Impressive set of mosaics. You can better enjoy them if you have a certain knowledge of Greek legends. Malus point: Some mosaics were covered as such not visible.

If you are in Paphos must see it. I enjoyed of history and art of mosaic. The total area is large, but the route, scenery and Roman ruins are very attractive. Ticket around 4-5 €.

Dont know who wrote 1,5-2 hrs, it took us near 4. Lots of varoius monuments and houses, breathtaking sea view, British lighthouse is actually the newest 'monument'... And probably Odeon, because it looks too good to be old. The area of the park is really big. Toilets at the enter of park and at Odeons place. Price is fair, 4.5 euro per person, 2.5 euro per senior (65+). Definitely recommend, Better to visit this park than Tombs of the Kings.

One of the best site in Cyprus Content Remarkable ancient sites in Paphos lie in vast, barren grounds around the south-western coast of Cyprus. Some of the most outstanding archaeological finds make up a significant part of the landscape just north of Paphos Harbour, while others are somewhat hidden from main routes but equally important and worth discovering during your visit. Start your day of historical exploration in Paphos at the archaeological park for a wealth of ruins dating back to ancient times, including the renowned and well-preserved floor mosaics of Phasos that are housed in several ancient villas. To guide you on your discoveries, here are our top picks of amazing sites in Paphos to take you back in time in this antique corner of Cyprus.

It's UNESCO world heritage site but nothing special. I got there at 4:20 and they told me the place at closed at 5:00. Trapped inside the monument. Resident walking outside of the monument told me there is a door to exit. I would have to call the police to get out of the area because I thought it was locked in. Absolutely nothing special don't bother.

I loved all of the mosaics! The free parking can be busy and hard to navigate, but if you go on a rainy day like us you won’t have any problems.

Amazing but enormous. Didn’t plan to just pop in for an hour and make sure you explore it all.

  • 4/5 darius s. 2 years ago on Google
Historic archeological area right in the middle of Paphos. It’s quite large and it can be difficult to walk on a hot day as there is no shadow. You can see some impressive mosaics. Otherwise, it is lacking a bit a story of the place, including some modelling to bring it to the imaginary reality.

  • 5/5 David S. 2 years ago on Google
The huge area is quite simply amazing. The mosaics were the highlight for me, goodness knows how long it took to make them with tiny painted stones. The €4.50 entrance price is peanuts. As the area is so enormous, and the heat so fierce - plan accordingly.

  • 5/5 Neil H. 2 years ago on Google
What a fantastic experience. Give yourself plenty of time to visit as there is a lot of area to cover which isn't easy in the heat so take a hat and plenty of water.

  • 5/5 Jenny S. 2 years ago on Google
A great site to go and view. Go early tho as the sun and heat peaks at 12/1 and there is no shade. We only got halfway around the heat forces us to leave early
