Excellent food in an authentic restaurant. Excellent service, they knew what to recommend and adjusted the dishes that would suit us. A family place with a good atmosphere. It's just a shame that people are allowed to smoke inside the restaurant, on you, while you're eating, shocking.

Perfect traditional Tarverna, excellent value for money. Excellent menu with delicious food all cooked by owner Andreas with all the family front of house. Super friendly family , very entertaining, especially Uncle Tony 🙌😁 So good we came back again! Can't wait to return to Ayia Napa and definitely back to Stamna Tavena🙌😋🏝❤️

I would definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a quite family Greek restaurant in the city upper side. It is a traditional tavern in a crowded party city set-up as a spring-break paradise. 30 years in the making, the owner still runs the show in the kitchen, Grandma is still sitting on the chair inside the restaurant and the 2 daughters' owner are strolling around the tables to make it all work on time (Zoe, you're the Master!). We did not ordered meze, we preferred to swing throughout traditional beef meat balls, chicken gyros, dolmades (grape leaves stuffed with rice and beef minced meat...simply delicious) all sprinkled by local white souvignon wine (crispy at first, smoother after the second glass, but do not try to imagine the french or Italian zest...). To sum it up, a great local taste of what Cyprus traditional cusine is. Do try to chat with the Owner if you can and definitely finish the meal with couple of shots of local zivania. It is the icing on the cake!

A fantastic family runned restaurant. It’s one of the top local tavern experiences you could have. Delicious food and lovely staff, in special Zoe who took care of me. I had the cooked lamb and can’t describe how delicious it was. Her father is the cooker and her uncle is one of the waiters. Don’t miss it.

This adorable mom and pop restaurant is everything we could have asked for! The background and history of the restaurant is very sweet and the service was phenomenal. Zoe and Tony both helped us during our dining experience. We left feeling full and smiling ear to ear. Well prepared, fresh and delicious food. 10/10 recommend supporting their restaurant.

Definitely the best vegetarian Meze I had during our 12 days on Cyprus. My boyfriend had the meat Meze and was amazed as well. Every dish tasted different and it was definitely worth the price. Especially by vegetarian Meze I got disappointed so often in other taverns since I got only grilled vegetables or simple sides, Stamna on the contrary had proper dishes and even veggie dolmades. The most of the dishes were vegan and I'm sure if you ask for it, they would veganise it all for you, the guy who cooks is an artist and very flexible :) We went there twice and got surprised because some of the Meze dishes changed - nice to have some variety! Extremely nice service, traditional music, good prices, beautiful tavern with long tradition and familiar atmosphere. Totally recommend!

The place is really nice and it's the oldest house in Aliya Napa. We were attended by Tony (owner's uncle), he was a very special guy and warm. We had the meze, everything taste wonderful, definitely enough food to feed the whole village! Highly recommended.

Absolutely amazing. Felt like being surrounded by family. Food was perfect. From starters up to main course and desert. Uncle Tony was clearly the big boss of serving, while Mini Boss 1 and Mini Boss 2 were just like friends that we knew for years. 👀 House wine, superb. Fresh and fragrant. Exactly how a wine should be in the summer. Lamb was cooked to perfection, whilst the fish was tender and as fresh as it could be. Most probably it was swimming this morning. Booked a second night there after the first experience. (Mini Boss 1, remember!) Overall: Amazing. *Update: we were also the second night and had the Musaca, calamari rings and baclava. Brilliant! Wow. You need to try them.

Staff here are amazing. Very personable and helpful. Food has a home cooked feel which is nice and fits in with the history of the place. You can read about that when you're there. We had the meat mezze for 2 which came with a great variety of things and sensible portion sizes. Taramasalata was the best I had in Cyprus!

It truly is the best tavern in Ayia Napa for us! We went there 4 times and everytime was amazing. The food is amazing no matter what you order it tastes great! The employees are super sweet and the atmosphere is great! It is recommended to reserve a table because it gets full very soon. The first time we had Gyros, Moussaka and the grilled feta. The second time we tried the meze with 22 dishes and it was the most amazing thing ever! Third time we had the Cyprus dips, wine leaves with rice, grilled feta and the lamb. The fourth time we had wine leaves with rice and grilled feta as well as the gyros again and the beef stew followed by the Cyprus cake. We loved everything and will miss going to dinner there. Big thank you to the whole restaurant team!

This place is just amazing. Most friendly staff you can imagine and the food is just fantastic. The moussaka is the best I've ever had.

We had the best dinner at this place. We tried it on the second day and again could not refuse. I think this is the best home cooking in the area.

It's a very nice restaurant! Seems to be run by a family. The owners are very friendly. Food here is normal price, even though it's not far from the most tourist places in Cyprus. I ordered the king prawns and it was so fresh and tasty! It seems that local people also come here to eat so you can get something more authentic. Only one thing, the service can be slow, we waited half an hour for our orders, but it's quite common here in Cyprus. It's probably the life that, more chilling. In general, I would highly recommend this one.

Would give 3.5 stars but gave 4 due to history of the taverna. Been to a handful of tavernas in ayia nappa, this one was not as good as the others. Such as Taverna Napa / en yevo. Pros: good starters / quick service / looks authentic. Cons: main dishes weren't as tasty / fresh as other tavernas. Waited 15 minutes for bill but had to stand up to ask, near main road so quite polluted and loud.

Such a cute restaurant! They waiters are so much fun and friendly - always having a nice chat. Food is also very delicious - we had this veg mezze (only keep watching there is this fish egg paste on it) which was simple delicious. Can recommend 10/10.

This place is unique. It was so good that out of 3 nights we had to come 2. The atmosphere is really friendly and cozy, the fish meze is very well served, the fish is super fresh. The house wine is also very good. For desert you have to try the yogurt with honey. We will continue to comeback and we hope that you go there too.

This is an authentic family restaurant. Very nice ambience, traditional food and music. The staff is very nice too. The food was excellent. I visited this place several times and they didn’t disappoint. The attached photo is Kleftico, it’s a traditional Cyprus dish. I’ve also had fish meze. If you decide to order it, don’t get anything else because it’s 20 different dishes. I only made it to 18. Couldn’t finish the last 2. After the meal, we were served with a traditional grape vodka - zavania - a compliment from the house. I’m not a fan of vodka but it was a nice gesture. Overall, amazing experience. If you are looking for an authentic experience, I would highly recommend giving this place a try!

Our trip to Cyprus wouldn’t be the same if we hadn’t met Tony and Andreas, they made our holiday very special. Not only they served us the most delicious traditional dishes of Cyprus but they also recommended amazing places to visit around Ayia Napa, they literally organised each day of our stay. Dining at Stamna Tavern was a real treat, food is amazing and portion are generous. Each night we would order less and less food but somehow extra dishes were miraculously appearing on our table so we would leave the taverna more and more stuffed :-) Tony, Andreas, you have spoiled us! Lamb and village salad were great, but the portion of lamb was not big like in other taverns and more expensive. I didn’t like hummus, for me there was too much garlic.Overall atmosphere was nice, Greek music and authentic old interior. The main disadvantage for me was smell of fumes and for some reason waiter preferred to give us a table near the road, even though there were other tables with no reserved sign. And unfortunately we did not get fruits after dinner like in other taverns.

Absolute must to visit this restaurant! The atmosphere, service and food are exceptional. You know when you are craving the good homemade traditional food... well this place hits the bullseye! This was the best meal we have had on the island. It must be up there in the top 5 restaurants in Cyprus for sure. Planning to go again before we leave. So enjoyed every bite! The taverna itself has a very homey and welcoming feel to it along with the staff who are friendly and communicative, very open to answering all our question. They informed us about their life story and the history behind the house and restaurant. The food was really good and the portions were big. Would definitely return here and recommend it to others for a good meal and a cozy feel.

We had a great meze-experience at this place. I am vegetarian and my boyfriend isn't and we were able to get a combination for the meze, For him with meat, for me without. It was delicious. I think the tzatziki was the best I had on the whole island. Furthermore, the atmosphere was really nice and the staff was friendly. They came to check for me if I eat dairy products and they came checking if we enjoyed the food. From others we heard that they also had a very good food experience. It was our only day in Ayia Napa and this felt like the only authentic place around. Overall, we definitely recommend.

What a gorgeous little family run restaurant. Very authentic. Staff were so friendly and attentive. The food was beautiful! I opted for the set menu and the value for money was great. The steak was cooked to perfection. Good selection of wines and the prosecco was really lovely too. Will definitely be back on my return to Cyprus.
