I
paid
230
euros
for
staying
3
hours
of
emergency
care
in
a
private
room
with
intravenous
fluids
due
to
anaphylaxis
(vomiting
and
diarrhoia).
I
was
glad
to
pay
since
I
needed
immediate
help.
I
received
also
buscopan
and
other
drugs
intraveneously.
The
doctors
are
fine
and
caring
but
they
saw
me
only
briefly.
I
spend
most
of
those
hours
with
nurses.
One
nurse,
although
she
knew
I
cannot
speak
because
my
tonsils/throat
was
inflamed
due
to
anaphylaxis,
asked
me
like
100
questions
of
personal
nature
''where
are
you
from?
are
you
married?
what
happened
to
you?
do
you
work?
if
you
dont
work
who
wil
pay
for
you?
why
you
dont
have
insurance?''.
Imagine
almost
dying
from
lack
of
oxygen
and
diarrhoia
due
to
anaphylaxis
and
being
asked
all
these
questions.
I
tried
to
use
sign
languge
to
answer
her
but
even
that
was
too
tiring.
Then
I
got
the
bill
after
3
hours
and
left
the
clinic
with
total
cost
230
euro.
I
did
wonder
many
times
ever
since
if
its
humane
sking
someone
who
cannot
speak,
so
many
personal
qeustions
especially
''who
will
pay
for
your
treatment".
Indeed
im
not
insured
but
how
did
she
know
that?
I
did
say
on
check
in
that
im
not
insured
cause
the
secretary
asked
me
(i
wrote
it
on
paper
as
i
could
not
speak
,
i
wrote
''i
wil
pay
cash
please
help
me'').
The
doctors
were
doing
their
job
fine
but
I
received
I
think
some
cruelty
and
snobism
from
one
of
the
nurse
staff....
Totally
unacceptable.
Then
after
many
months
I
got
a
new
bill?
By
phone
call.
A
woman
called
and
said
I
owe
money
around
700
euro
because
that
day
I
paid
nothing.
When
i
told
her
I
paid
230
euro
on
the
spot
but
after
so
many
months
possibly
i
dont
have
the
receipt
she
said
she
see
nothing
on
her
records
on
her
computer
and
she
see
only
a
bill
for
700
euro
that
i
must
be
immediately.
This
caused
me
some
anxiety.
I
searched
to
find
a
receipt
but
didnt.
When
i
called
her
back
stressed
out
she
said
happilly,
''oh
its
ok
i
found
that
you
paid,
dont
worry''.
:/
I
did
also
some
tests
that
i
had
to
return
after
2-3
days
to
take
results.
The
doctor
and
the
staff
for
tests
told
me
''you
must
pay
for
them''
as
if
I
intended
not
to
pay.
I
dont
know
why
,
but
having
no
insurance
means
for
them
that
im
trying
not
to
pay
(cash)?
It
was
a
bit
weird?
as
if
im
not
entitled
to
basic
respect
just
cause
I
pay
cash.
I
never
said
I
dont
have
money
or
i
wont
pay.
They
seem
to
help
and
cure
only
people
who
have
good
health
insurance,
if
you
dont
have
insurance,
they
seem
to
distrust
you
and
you
get
a
lot
of
doubtful
looks
by
the
staff.
I
always
though
that
paying
with
cash
is
still
payment?
