Rip off ! The given car has almost 100 000 km and was very old, where the agent at the counter proudly said that he was upgrading me. I have been charged for a scratch that I didn't do for 450euros. I didn't take a picture at this place (I arrived during the night) and Europcar let you do the checks yourself. 450euro for a minor scratch done on a 100 000km ford fiesta, with a broken AC ... I am wondering how Europcar determines the damage "caused" on old cars, on customers tight with flight. Few pictures taken before taking the car. Thanks but no thanks.

We had booked an economy car from Larnaca airport and we are appalled by the slow, poor service and disgusting quality of the car offered. We only managed to get this car exchanged because the seat belts didn’t work, at which point a new car ‘magically’ became available in their inventory… Truly a terrible experience and absolutely appalling they would try rent a family with a small child a car covered in rust, almost 100k Km on the clock and seat belts that don’t work. No apology offered, no compensation…no return customer here.

They charged me a fuel surcharge (full tank - 60€) at pick up without explaining what it was for, but I guess it's how they earn so much cash (and can afford having the nicest looking in-terminal pick-up location). I did not complain about this fuel surcharge once I got the car because I thought that as a rematch, they could easily have found a "dent" on the car or something and steal my 900€ deposit..... so instead of that I used the full tank and give them back the car with only 10km of range left, so in this case I only lost 10€.... So, either they scammed me (by charging my card with fuel surcharge at pickup) or either they have a terrible communication (maybe voluntarily - so people don't actually understand why they've been charged a fuel surcharge), but in both case that's a terrible practice as I never saw before over the 20 different car rentals I already been to.... Other than that, the car was okay, clean, fairly not old....

Previous review was deleted as they removed the pin it was attached to. They try to blame you for damage caused by previous renters so take lots of photos before you drive off. Also they try to change the full to full booked to full to empty. Also they want you to use the more expensive petrol station at the airport to fill the car (so keep the receipt) otherwise they won't accept it as full (even though our car took nearly 10 eur to full when we first got it. Only good point is that cars are OK.

Booked a car for 6 days and made the mistake of paying by debit card. When i arrived to pickup my car i was forced to pay for an extra Insurance because they could not take the holding deposit on a debit card . The insurance cost to reduce Holding deposit was more than the actual Car Hire. What a rip off. Wouldn't even allow me to cancel when the car hire company next to their stand offered to give me a car with no deposit, and a better price. Will never use them again. Taking full advantage of you if you miss something on the small print.

Absolutely ridiculous! Paying more than 200 euro for insurance when the car rent for a week was about 180!! Lots of fine writing about insurance policy and extra payments! Ended up paying more for insurance than for the actual car to rent for a week!! Car was fine

Unforgivable, they keep a small set of unfit for purpose cars - they think it's funny. Good luck to you if you end up here!

Our experience at Europcar has been only "ok" due to two reasons. During check-in process the staff tried to convince me that I urgently need an extra insurance from Europcar. I already had an insurance which covered really everything. The lady explained to me that if there is something at the tire or something else, the damage itself is covered by the existing insurance but if I need a mechanical help, I would have to pay it extra. I asked the lady what would happen if the car stops due to some technical issues which has been caused by Europcar. I got the answer that then of course Europcar would pay ;-) As I knew that this is some kind of trick, I refused the offer and the lady kindly accepted it. Second thing which I didn't like was the fuel policy. In my contract from billiger Mietwagen were two options written down. 1) Get full tank and bring it back full 2) get full tank and directly pay the full tank, bring it back empty I went for option 1, but the lady said to me that they only offer option 2 and I have to pay 45€ for a full tank. I asked for fuel prices and she convinced me that it's the normal price. During our way back to larnaca airport I was not sure if we'll make it back with the remaining fuel. Thus I filled the almost empty tank with 15€ unleaded (based on the assumption 45€ for full tank). To my surprise the car tank was more than half full. So unfortunately tourists are also tricked by offering only option 2, even though you can insist on option 1 as it's written in the contract! On my calculations a full tank then only costs around 30€ and not 45€, so they make double money. One extra charge on the full tank price and the second benefit, if customer is not able to drive the tank empty during the renting time. The pick-up service staff has been very nice and helpful, but because of these two incidents a rather disappointing experience after all.

They will try to force you to pay for a full tank at pick up and bring it back empty, even when your booking contract says full-full. Don't fall for it. Keep declining their offer and point out the full-full arrangement in your contract. It is also a written option on their own papers but they will hesitate to show you. It took me about 5 times of telling the lady at the desk I was not going to pay for a full tank and bring it back 'empty', before she gave in and admitted there is a full-full option.

Do not let the bad reviews in here deter you from renting a car from Europcar at Larnaca airport. I obviously can’t say, whether I was just lucky, but contrary to the other reviews, my experience with Europcar at Larnaca airport was very positive. Pick-up of the vehicle was swift and problem-free, the car itself was clean and as advertised with just over 9k kilometres on the odometer. Drop-off was even quicker with minimal paperwork - and I instantly got the deposit unblocked from my credit card. The staff was very polite and attentive. Overall, can definitely recommend.

It felt like there were a lot of hidden fees. We were pushed hard to take out the insurance, and we were charged for fuel before we left. Checking the contract, that wasn't necessary on either front, but the rep led us to believe it was. The air con didn't work well in the car, we were sweating half way to Paphos. The child seats didn't buckle properly, and we had problems clipping them up all holiday. The child seats were also tattered and worn - I have doubts on how safe they were. The condition of the car was poor as well, and had over 100,000 km on the clock. For what we paid, I'd have expected much better.

Amazing service, and such helpful staff at the desk. Especially Alex couldn't of helped anymore if she tried. Thanks for sorting everything out.

I got a free upgrade, you better make an insurance at office, not online, so you will have 0 deposit, 0 excess, for me was 12€/day, but, you don't have any worries. The car will not be checked when you arrive if you purchase that insurance. There is a 70-80€ fuel deposit, but it is refund when you came back with full fuel tank.

Was greeted a few months ago by a young, humble, and inteligent gentleman named Savas! Very interesting personality! Speech level 100! Amazing guy!

The car was great (had some scratches when we got it, but that didn't affect anything), and returning it was quick and easy. But the pickup was super slow and we realized things that should be included were suddenly not. Also the staff at the parking-lot could probably be more friendly. We had another group with us that went to a different car rental and they were done almost 30 minutes before us.

Mixed experience. The vehicule provided was pretty good but the fuel contract is awful : what an horrible idea to make the poor customer pay in advance for the full tank at pickup! I have NEVER seen such nonsense. So we lost many minutes at pickup to try to understand why we had to pay for a full-full contract and we lost many minutes again when returning the vehicule to be refunded. The argument that it is cheaper for the customer is wrong as I paid 57€ to get a full tank from an almost empty one (1/8 remaining) instead of the 81.36€ asked by Europcar. By the way this amount is fully arbitrary as I found out that it is always the same whichever vehicule you rent.

A great experience and everything went really smoothly. Staff was also very nice and helpful. Something that I thought was a little unusual that you have to prepay for petrol. Meaning you can bring the car back with an empty tank. However, if you return it with a full tank you get the money back. I calculated that it was cheaper for me to bring the car back with a full tank. Their price was 78€ for a full tank and at the time of my visit the price of a full thank of petrol was about 66€. But like I said it was a great experience and the car was in great condition! No actual complaints!

Felt on the end car was overpriced. Promised a Vw golf got an Kia xceed. Car quite used inside and model quite basic. Although cleaning was good, noticed the aft seats headrests were raised and not positioned secured, hence blocking rear view. Should know Better to driver the car spotless. Check in and check out process perfect, friendly front desk and approachable. All in all go for it if you only pay the cheapest price, don’t invest for better models. No issues with damages, opted for full insurance.

Reserved in advance via holidayautos.de. Very fast check-in, even though we picked up at midnight. Car new, nice, clean. Return after 14 days again without problems within 10 minutes. Deposit released immediately. Great experience, I recommend.

When appearing at the desk inside the airport at once a lady has taken my reservation and filled in a contract. I have not got detailed information about the brand or type of the car. Only after my questions I got informed that they have reserved a KIA. There was no information about any damages. Don't forget to present your CREDIT CARD. You also need to pay the amount of a full tank. In addition you need to pay a deposit for the car. Then you need to go to lift/elevator to reach the parking. Of course I have not got informed about any damages of the car. I only got told: " Take pictures!" Upon arrival I saw that the car has had a crash and several damages and scratches. So I have exchanged the KIA and got another KIA with a mileage of more than 70.000 km! As a result I got an old cheap simple car in a quite bad condition. For one week in October I needed to pay about 400 €. This is a bad value for money and the service was very poor!
