Our
experience
at
Europcar
has
been
only
"ok"
due
to
two
reasons.
During
check-in
process
the
staff
tried
to
convince
me
that
I
urgently
need
an
extra
insurance
from
Europcar.
I
already
had
an
insurance
which
covered
really
everything.
The
lady
explained
to
me
that
if
there
is
something
at
the
tire
or
something
else,
the
damage
itself
is
covered
by
the
existing
insurance
but
if
I
need
a
mechanical
help,
I
would
have
to
pay
it
extra.
I
asked
the
lady
what
would
happen
if
the
car
stops
due
to
some
technical
issues
which
has
been
caused
by
Europcar.
I
got
the
answer
that
then
of
course
Europcar
would
pay
;-)
As
I
knew
that
this
is
some
kind
of
trick,
I
refused
the
offer
and
the
lady
kindly
accepted
it.
Second
thing
which
I
didn't
like
was
the
fuel
policy.
In
my
contract
from
billiger
Mietwagen
were
two
options
written
down.
1)
Get
full
tank
and
bring
it
back
full
2)
get
full
tank
and
directly
pay
the
full
tank,
bring
it
back
empty
I
went
for
option
1,
but
the
lady
said
to
me
that
they
only
offer
option
2
and
I
have
to
pay
45€
for
a
full
tank.
I
asked
for
fuel
prices
and
she
convinced
me
that
it's
the
normal
price.
During
our
way
back
to
larnaca
airport
I
was
not
sure
if
we'll
make
it
back
with
the
remaining
fuel.
Thus
I
filled
the
almost
empty
tank
with
15€
unleaded
(based
on
the
assumption
45€
for
full
tank).
To
my
surprise
the
car
tank
was
more
than
half
full.
So
unfortunately
tourists
are
also
tricked
by
offering
only
option
2,
even
though
you
can
insist
on
option
1
as
it's
written
in
the
contract!
On
my
calculations
a
full
tank
then
only
costs
around
30€
and
not
45€,
so
they
make
double
money.
One
extra
charge
on
the
full
tank
price
and
the
second
benefit,
if
customer
is
not
able
to
drive
the
tank
empty
during
the
renting
time.
The
pick-up
service
staff
has
been
very
nice
and
helpful,
but
because
of
these
two
incidents
a
rather
disappointing
experience
after
all.
